In the video, Kanye West and Jay-Z use cutters and plasma guns to rip through the sheetmetal of the unsuspecting Maybach. What’s funny is that if you take into consideration how much money they made from this music video, the Maybach was simply a $350,000 prop. Once the doors and roof have been cut off, they take a joy ride in the car to finish it off.

They made a wide body kit from extra sheet metal, and some kind of a crazy spoiler using what looks like parts of the doors.

Hey guys… next time you want to throw away $350,000, why not send it to me? I’ll buy a Nissan GT-R, and add $250,000 worth of mods to it. To show my thanks, I’ll make sure to mention where the car came from.

I was unsure about purchasing this suspension at first. I’ve had coilovers in my Civic for 60,000kms, so I was not worried about the stiff ride. Always wanted ksports, heard good things and bad things, but I just was struggling to find a set for a decent price.

PS: I attached a few other pics from the summer that you may want! Not much or a write-up, but do not know what esle to say but they are great. I would love is they had camber plates and i didnt have to use my stock strut mounts, since my wide wheels required some camber adjustment. I was the first person ever in the world to run a 9.5 wide on a probe and the yonakas let me do it!

The new BMW M3 GTS is a purpose built race car, and nothing says it more than simply taking a look inside. Roll cage, race seats, fire extinguisher and the works. The BMW M3 GTS is powered by a 4.4 liter V8 making 474 horsepower, and BMW will only make 250 of these to complete the limited production run. Power remains at stock levels but due to weight savings there is about 135 kg less weight to throw around.

Most of the performance work is in the suspension where the car is lowered 16mm in the front and 12mm in the rear giving it a lower center of gravity and overall better performance. The suspension and tires are top notch race grade and mean serious business.

190 mph Top Speed and 0-62 in 4.4 seconds for this M3, thanks to BMW removing the top speed limiter. The 7 speed automatic is the only transmission available with paddle shifters.

We love the Recaro seats and bright orange color. But can BMW justify that this car costs twice the price of a normal BMW M3? The car is stunning and we are looking forward to seeing how it performs in competition.

The new Toyota FT-86 II Concept (Scion FT-S) makes its world debut at the 2011 Geneva motor show, giving the clearest indication yet as to the final design of Toyota’s next sports car. It marks a return to the passion for driving that has inspired great Toyota cars of the past, starting with the legendary 2000 GT in the 1960s.

With its long, low bonnet, high wings and rear-set cabin, the Toyota FT-86 II Concept pays homage to Toyota’s sports car history and is an entirely driver-oriented concept. It was created at Toyota’s European design studio ED2, where its styling was dubbed ‘functional beauty’: its bold, sweeping form has been generated purely according to the constraints of function and aerodynamics.

The low, highly aerodynamic bodyshell is stretched tight over the engineering hard points, with the muscular bodywork rendered as compact as possible. The concept measures 4,235mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,270mm high, with a long, 2,570mm wheelbase.

Rather than using a heavy, large displacement powertrain to secure performance, the FT-86 II returns to Toyota’s sporting roots by combining a free-revving boxer petrol engine with a compact and lightweight six-speed manual transmission and a low centre of gravity to achieve the best possible power to weight ratio.

Both the powertrain and the driving position have been set as low and as far back as possible to optimise balance for maximum poise, high-speed stability and agility. With a front-engine/rear-wheel drive configuration, this gives the car lively, accessible performance that is easy to harness and enjoy.

The Toyota FT-86 II Concept is the latest stage in the development of a new, compact rear-wheel drive sports car that is being jointly developed by Toyota and Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru). The new model will be launched in Europe in 2012.

Honda has released the next version of their famous Honda Civic. The 2012 Honda Civic will be available in three different styles for now, 2012 Honda Civic coupe, sedan, and hybrid. There will also eventually be a hatchback, but that won’t come until later in the year. It would be interesting to see how much the new hatchback weighs. My guess is that it’s going to be pretty heavy, close to 2900 lbs. However, the aftermarket is going to take well to this car, so the power production should be on par to keep this hatchback moving.

The standard engine on the 2012 Honda Civic is going to be a 1.8 liter i-VTEC 4 cylinder making 140 horsepower. It’ll have an available 5 speed automatic transmission. Pretty vanilla, but a good base for a reliable daily driver. Even better is that the car is supposed to offer around 41 mpg on the highway and 39 mpg on the freeway with what Honda calls the ECO assist technology.

That’s all fine and dandy, but what makes us excited is that the 2012 Honda Civic Si is going to have a bigger engine than the current version Si. It will be powered by a 2.4 liter i-VTEC 4 cylinder, which will have 200 horsepower and an incredible-for-a-honda 170 lb-ft of torque. Of course, it will still have it’s silky smooth 6 speed transmission. Still good for a daily driver, it should have around 31mpg on the freeway.

We’re excited to see a Mugen version of the Si, and can’t wait to see what the Si will do with it’s bigger engine and more torque. The front wheels are going to get a workout, but the standard LSD is decent and should provide some traction relief. I estimate all motor models at a standard 300 wheel horsepower figure, and turbo civic’s coming in at an every day 450 wheel horsepower. Ahh… iVTEC + turbo gets us excited.

The ever so popular 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid will have it’s IMA hybrid system and deliver around 45 mpg on the freeway. It’ll continue to feature the CVT transmisson, ECO assist technology and Lithium-ion battery.

Prices haven’t been announced yet, but expect them to be around last years prices.

Based on a 2009 Challenger, DropTop Customs took it into their own hands to create a Convertible Challenger. Powered by a 6.1 Liter Hemi SRT8, and aftermarket parts such as a Mopar Catback exhaust, Hurst Shifter with pistol grip and a 6 speed manual transmission. Besides being a convertible, the Challenger is fitted with a custom body kit, shaker hood and a HCX retro bumper with a special paint job right from the 70s. They finish it off with a killer sound system featuring a Kicker audio system, and drop it on KW coilovers on 20 inch BBS wheels and Pirelli PZero Tires.

Wow, this is pretty cool. Audi has announced that their Audi A6 Sedan is going to feature all LED headlights, similar to the R8. These bulbs are not only much brighter than the traditional halogen bulb, but also use an incredibly less amount power each and last longer than even bi-xenon. The nice thing about the LED lights is the light they emit is much easier to the eyes of the oncoming driver, as the light typically reflects that found in nature, similar to daylight, but concentrated.

I fully expect these Audi LED headlights to be the new wave of headlights being offered, possibly outing HID lights as the most popular current lights and even more popular than projector headlights.

The Audi R8 was the first ever production car to offer all LED lights, and now that Audi is using it on lower models, they see there is a demand for this type of technology which in my opinion is going to be offered on all cars as standard feature in the next 5-10 years.

AUDI LIGHTS THE WAY WITH THE NEW A6 SALOON

The new Audi A6 is all set to outshine its premium sector competitors as the world’s first executive saloon to feature all-LED headlights. Available as an optional alternative to the more familiar halogen or bi-xenon lamps also offered, the advanced LED units emit a strong white light that is similar to daylight, and use just 40 watts of electricity each, making them yet another important weapon in the battle against energy consumption.

The sophisticated LED units use just four one-chip and five two-chip LEDs to create dipped-beam light, and 24 white LEDs to make up the daytime running lights in each headlight. This keeps power consumption and maintenance down, and assures an excellent service life.

The Audi R8 was the first ever production car to feature all-LED headlights, which are now fast becoming a staple option across the Audi model range. All-LED headlights are also now available on the A7 Sportback and A8 luxury saloon, along with the new A6 Saloon.

The new LED lights are further enhanced by intelligent systems such as adaptive light control and high-beam assist, which give maximum visibility without dazzling other road users. The adaptive light system adapts the light provided by the headlights to the driving situation, with different arrangements of light when driving in the city, on country roads and on motorways.

The headlight control unit uses a small video camera in the base of the rear view mirror and route data from the optional MMI navigation plus navigation system to anticipate changes in ambient lighting. For example, the cornering light arrangement can be triggered before the car reaches a junction or corner to aid visibility on approach.

High-beam assist

The high-beam assistant automatically varies the range and width of the headlights between dipped and full beam according to the road situation. The system also incorporates an all-weather function that uses the rear view mirror camera to detect the lights of on-coming traffic and adjust the headlight intensity to give optimum visibility in varying conditions without disturbing other road users.

Audi A6 Saloon

All-LED headlights join Google Earth mapping, Bose surround sound, head-up display, Audi active lane assist and wi-fi hotspot capability, as just some of the new A6 Saloon’s innovations.

The ground-breaking A6 Saloon is available to order now and prices start at £30,145 on the road for the 2.0 TDI (170PS) SE model. The all-LED headlight option costs £2,710, and as well as dipped, main beam, indicator and daytime running lights also incorporates static turning lights, high-beam assist with all-weather light function and motorway lights.

It’s been rumored that Dodge was going to release a Dodge Ram Hybrid to compete with the Chevy Hybrid Trucks, that in our opinion made absolutely no sense. Well, just recently Dodge Ram Trucks CEO Fred Diaz made it clear that there was going to be no Dodge Ram Hybrid when he said, “Truckers don’t want to buy hybrids.”

We agree.

It’s not that truckers don’t care about fuel economy or the environment, but at this point in time the hybrid technology available for trucks and the fuel economy savings compared to the actual cost of the hybrid system just doesn’t make sense. However, now that Fiat owns Chrysler, there are suggestions from Fred Diaz that technology Fiat has will make it’s way over to the Dodge Ram such as light duty diesel and Multiair.

If Chevy’s failure with the hybrid truck and hybrid SUV market was any indication, this step by Dodge is a good one, and we suspect Ford is going to follow.

So unless if there is going to be a truck that is offered as a hybrid that offers substantial fuel economy savings, substantially less emissions, and a good price point, I just don’t see this market taking off.
