Networks Fret GOP Grilling Fauci as ‘Deep, Partisan Divisions,’ ‘Sign of the Times’

On Thursday, the major broadcast networks used their flagship morning news shows to throw a pity party for one of the dearly beloved overlords, former public health official Dr. Tony Fauci, bemoaning the “deep, partisan divisions” illustrated in the behavior of Republicans in discussing the COVID-19 pandemic and “a sign of the times” someone like Fauci could be ridiculed.

ABC’s Good Morning America featured co-host and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos, who decried what took place Wednesday morning in a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing as “a sign of the times” that a hearing starring Fauci could turn out “as partisan as it gets.”

Obviously, correspondent Jay O’Brien agreed: “It was. And now, after that hearing, the chair of that committee, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, says he wants to move to hold Dr. Fauci in contempt of Congress after Fauci pled the Fifth more than 100 times in that fiery hearing yesterday.”

O’Brien also made sure to parrot Fauci’s framing of Paul while putting no weight on what Paul and the other Republican senators alleged:

Fauci said he did so as a way of protecting himself because he accused Paul of having, in his words, a — a “unhinged obsession” with putting him in prison. Paul has said that because Fauci has this preemptive pardon from President Biden that covers Fauci’s time in government, he may not be allowed to exercise his constitutional right to plead the Fifth. But Paul acknowledged to me that’s an untested legal theory that the courts are going to have to settle.

Over on NBC, Today kept the emotions on the front burner.

“Senate showdown. Republicans threatening to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt after his heated appearance on Capitol Hill...Fauci invoking the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times and refusing to answer any questions...Now, what’s next for the nation’s former top health official? We’ll have the very latest,” said co-host Craig Melvin in a tease.

Fill-in co-host Hallie Jackson categorized what took place as a “heated hearing” that resulted in “Republicans...threatening to hold him in contempt of Congress.”

White House correspondent Monica Alba blamed the GOP for her framing of the hearing:

This hearing was supposed to be part of an investigation into the origins of COVID-19, and the government’s response, but instead, it highlighted the deep, partisan divisions that still exist over the pandemic years later. This morning, Dr. Anthony Fauci facing a new threat: a potential contempt of Congress vote after refusing more than 100 times to answer questions Wednesday during a contentious Senate hearing.

Alba repeatedly harped on the personal animus between Fauci and Paul as opposed to, say, the focus on the funding of Chinese labs, schools being closed for as long as they were, or Fauci and his staff soliciting awards for him while on the clock (click “expand”):

ALBA: The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, calling the Republican chairman Senator Rand Paul “unhinged.”
FAUCI: The sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something, anything that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up in his words “behind bars.”
ALBA: Senator Paul, who’s accused Fauci of what he calls a COVID cover-up, saying his committee will vote next week on whether Fauci violated the law.
PAUL [on FNC’s The Will Cain Show, 07/29/26]: If that resolution passes our committee, which it will, that it could simply be referred directly to the Department of Justice.
ALBA: During the nearly three-hour hearing, Republicans repeatedly slamming Fauci, who was a key member of the White House COVID Task Force for both the Trump and Biden administrations.
MORENO: It is a total disgrace what you did to this country.
HAWLEY [TO FAUCI]: What color’s the carpet in front of you?
FAUCI: On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer.
HAWLEY: You could sit for In Style magazine, but you can’t answer questions for the American people.

Alba also Trumpwashed the segment by scoffing that Trump has dismissed those who plead the Fifth even though he “later invoked the Fifth Amendment himself more than 400 times in a civil case in New York.”

In addition to touting the belief from Fauci’s lawyers he’s in the clear, she passed along the left’s conclusion as fact: “Committee Democrats, suggesting Fauci, who by his own count has testified before Congress more than 200 times during his decades in public health, made the right call.”

Over on CBS Mornings, co-host Nate Burleson followed suit in the framing as Fauci defending himself against a GOP that had come off the proverbial chain: “Republican senators say Dr. Anthony Fauci could be held in contempt after a fiery hearing on Capitol Hill. The leader of the government response to the COVID pandemic refused to answer questions from senators yesterday.”

Congressional correspondent Caitlin Huey-Burns didn’t lead with the accusations from Republicans about Fauci’s power-tripping or unrepentance but rather the Fifth Amendment count and boasting that “when his attorney tried to speak, the chairman of the committee had him kicked out of the room.”

As was the case with NBC, Huey-Burns chose not to explain the why as Paul removed Fauci’s attorney because he sat at the witness table despite explicit instructions not to.

Huey-Burns vaguely asserted, “Republican after Republican on the Senate Homeland Security Committee unleashed on Dr. Anthony Fauci Tuesday as he declined to answer any of their questions” under threat of prosecution (but despite a pardon from now-former President Biden).

“Senator Paul has long accused Fauci of lying to suppress the theory the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, a lab Paul says received U.S. government funding for research to make viruses more transmissible,” she added before conceding a Justice Department referral for wrongdoing by Fauci “would have to overcome a lot of hurdles.”

ABC’s Defenders Flounder in Rebuttals to FCC, Bite at Disney #Political

With the Federal Communications Commission just weeks away from possibly stripping The View of their status as a purported “bona fide news program,” and the fight over the license renewal of ABC-owned affiliates just heating up, the left was still trying to muster their defenses. However, the coalitions of liberal former FCC officials and far-left activist groups coming out of the woodwork on Disney and ABC’s behalf could not make any sound legal argument to counter the evidence provided by the Media Research Center, with some even taking nip at the companies in their support letter.

As reported by Variety, a letter showing support was signed by a slew of leftist organizations and delivered to Disney CEO Josh D’Amero. The signatories included: the American Civil Liberties Union, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Fall of Freedom, Issue One, LGBT Tech, National Coalition Against Censorship, PEN America, People for the American Way, Public Knowledge, TechFreedom, The Media and Democracy Project, The Trevor Project, The Tully Center for Free Speech, and UnidosUS.

“We urge you to continue to defend and exercise your First Amendment rights, so that we can all continue to exercise ours,” the collective proclaimed.

The letter did seem to suggest that they felt ABC and Disney were being too silent about what they were going through and they needed to do more:

“Meaningfully fighting back requires more than strongly worded regulatory filings. It requires that you make clear to the public what is happening to you and to them — that the government is violating the First Amendment,” the letter to D’Amaro reads. “Remember: the public rebelled against the heavy-handed attempt to force Jimmy Kimmel off the air, and stood with you. Disney now has the opportunity to stand with all of us in protecting our rights to watch, read, and access information the government wishes we would not. Illegal jawboning demands decisive and vocal resistance. Your rights, and all of our rights, depend on it.”

As NewsBusters previously reported, ABC had waited until the final day of public comment to launch their audience write-in campaign.

In a response to the Media Research Center’s petition to deny the renewal of broadcast licenses for eight ABC-owned affiliates, a laundry list of former FCC officials spilled 28 pages of ink without laying down a good legal argument in Disney and ABC’s favor. They were helped along by the leftist Protect Democracy Project and a collection of others likes Gigi Sohn of G Squared Strategies, Berlin Szoka of TechFreedom, and Andrew Jay Schwartzman.

“This early license renewal proceeding is unprecedented in the history of the Federal Communications Commission and a grave violation of both the Communications Act and the Constitution. Through this proceeding, the FCC seeks to censor Disney’s and ABC’s speech and send a chilling message to all broadcasters: carry speech we don’t like at your peril,” they proclaimed.

At no point did the group argue that MRC’s evidence of license violations (i.e. electioneering, promotion of political violence, abdicating their duty to act in the public interest etc.) were wrong or inaccurate in anyway.

Instead, they falsely suggested it was part of ABC’s “editorial discretion” and right to flout their responsibilities as a broadcaster:

Invoking the news distortion policy and equal opportunities requirement, these petitions ask the Commission to interfere with the stations’ First Amendment-protected editorial discretion: word choices, fact-checks, time covering certain topics, personnel, and the licensees’ perceived viewpoints. These are not legitimate subjects of FCC regulation. Indeed, the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the government may not “un-bias” what it thinks is biased. The news distortion policy has never authorized the type of interference with editorial discretion that the petitions call for. And, as a group of us argued in a separate petition, the policy is inherently vulnerable to abuse and should be repealed. Nor does the equal opportunities requirement permit investigation into whether, across all content, a licensee harbors partisan bias.

Without ever addressing any of the MRC’s specific arguments, they contended, “The Commission has always underscored that ‘mere inaccuracy or difference of opinion’ cannot constitute a news distortion violation.”

In fact, they took it a step further and demanded that the FCC repeal their policy to examine and discipline broadcasters for “news distortion.”

“Both petitions ask the Commission to scrutinize and second-guess ABC’s editorial decisions at the microscopic level—word choices, fact-checks, the number of minutes spent covering particular topics, even personnel. These petitions only underscore the danger created by failing to repeal the news distortion policy,” they wrote.

Yes, ABC does have editorial discretion. However, they can’t use that discretion to willingly violate the responsibilities they agreed to when they sought their licenses. This also wasn’t an effort at censorship because even if they lost their license, they could still compete as a cable news outlet like CNN and MS NOW.

Scarborough Warns Democrats: Reject DSA Lunacy Now, Or Be Punished In November! #Political

Joe Scarborough donned his Democrat-strategist sombrero on Tuesday's Morning Joe and pleaded with his party of choice to reject DSA lunacy now, or suffer the consequences in the fall.

Scarborough opened by cueing up Shannon Bream’s exchange on Fox News Sunday with DSA national co-chair Megan Romer in which she enthusiastically embraced these items in the DSA platform:

Abolishing the Senate.
Replacing the presidency and the Supreme Court.
Abolishing ICE.
Abolishing borders and giving amnesty to anyone currently in the US illegally.
Defunding the Pentagon.
Abolishing prisons, at least in large part.
Government or public ownership of most large corporations.

Although items like abolishing borders and defunding the Pentagon might stand out, let's focus on the plan for the government to seize most large corporations. That's not democratic socialism. Government ownership of the means of production is the essence of Marxism. So don't tell us the democratic socialists don't have a communist tint -- it's right there in their platform.

Scarborough then reached for a very tired liberal trope — Maya Angelou's line about believing people when they show you who they are. He summarized the Fox quiz: "All questions answered with complete conviction, and all those responses completely disqualifying for a party that likes to tell people they're really just about health care and tax reform."

Scarborough praised progressives for bringing all the energy to the party, but insisted Democrats can still put the issue behind them — but only if they act now:

For a host who spent yesterday screaming for DNC Chair Ken Martin's head over the party's empty bank account, today's performance was pure strategist mode: identify the vulnerability, demand the party confront it before Republicans turn it into a cudgel, and hope the base listens.

Will the Democrats heed Scarborough's warning? Or, come fall, will we be relaxing in our Barcaloungers, munching the proverbial popcorn, as we watch Dem candidates and leaders squirm in explaining away the communists in their midst?

JOE SCARBOROUGH: We got a ton to talk, talk to him about, but I just got to start with something that was, all over, social media and the news yesterday.

And before we got all the big events in Washington, across the world, I wanted to show everybody a notable clip from one of the Sunday shows. A national co-chair for the Democratic Socialists of America, the DSA, was on Fox News Sunday, and here was one of her exchanges with host Shannon Bream.

SHANNON BREAM: Okay, so we're gonna put up on the screen a few of the things that are part of your platform, and I wanna ask you, just give me sort of a true or false on these. Abolish the Senate.

MEGAN ROMER: True.

BREAM: Okay. Replace the presidency and Supreme Court as we now know them.

ROMER: Yep.

BREAM: Abolish ICE.

ROMER: Absolutely.

BREAM: Abolish borders and give amnesty to anyone currently in the US

ROMER: As a long term plan, yep.

BREAM: Defund the Pentagon

ROMER: Absolutely.

BREAM: Abolish prisons, at least in large part.

ROMER: Yeah, again, that as part of a long term program, yeah.

BREAM: Okay, so no prisons. Government or public ownership of most large corporations.

ROMER: Yeah, absolutely.

SCARBOROUGH: Democrats, Democrats, Democrats.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Oh my God.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Let those with ears hear. Maya Angelou said, "When somebody shows you who they are, believe 'em the first time."

People know themselves much better than you do, and well, what's true of people is also true of political parties. And as you just saw, the national co-chair of the DSA went on television and showed us exactly who she is and what her party believes.

Abolish the US Senate, the presidency as we know it, the Supreme Court as we know it? True. Abolish ICE? Absolutely. Open the borders? Defund the Pentagon? Empty the prisons? Have the government seize private companies? Absolutely, absolutely, yeah, absolutely!

All questions answered with complete conviction, and all those responses completely disqualifying for a party that likes to tell people they're really just about health care and tax reform.

JONATHAN LEMIRE: And then Mika, the other part of this, of course, is that even if there actually aren't many Democrats who believe this, it's a gift to Republicans.

Talking like that allows Republicans to label the entire party, the GOP, like, on their heels right now, and this is a, a life preserver, they can hang onto. And then turn it into a cudgel.

MIKA: Exactly. Exactly. They'll use it.

SCARBOROUGH: But, but, but here, here's the thing though, again, For those candidates out there that identified themselves as DSA, this is the head of their party. Right?

So this isn't just about Democratic energy. Yes, I, I think Democratic energy is great. I've always said, it's the progressives not the centrists, it's the progressives who knock on doors, it's the progressives who do phone banks, it's the progressives that get out and march, it's the progressives that provide the energy to the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party's big enough to have progressives, to have moderates, to have members of the DSA party. But those members of the DSA party have to tell us, are you for affordable health care, are you for this, are you for what she said?

'Cause if you're for what she said, and she's the head of your party, so you can't dismiss it. Are you for what the head of your party said? This is a very simple question, and the reason I'm talking about it today is because Democrats can put it behind them today, or we can still be talking about this in early November.

Did you hear what I just said? Don't brush this off. Take care of it in July, get rid of the issue in July, or you're still going to be dealing with it through late October and early November.

Don't be a Democrat, don't do that. Take care of it now. Don't make the same mistakes you made in 2024. Nip this one in the bud.

New York Times Takes Field Trip To Cuba After Promising To Treat Commies 'Fairly' #Political

From the Soviet Union to East Germany to North Korea, The New York Times has a long and infamous history of going soft on communist countries. On Monday, one day after the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, it added Cuba to the list.

Under the headline “Cut off from Fuel, Cuba is Still Surviving,” read the subheadline “President Trump has tried to strangle Cuba by blocking its oil imports. But six months later, the island is finding ways to endure.

That set the tone for the article. Amid stories of Cubans making their own fuel and using lithium batteries and Chinese solar panels and electric rickshaws, Mexico City bureau chief Jack Nicas knew who to blame for Cuba’s economic woes, “[Trump] imposed an oil blockade that has pushed the island into its worst ever energy crisis, with mass blackouts now lasting nearly all day. And yet, more than six months later, the Cuban government and people are still standing.”

Beyond Trump, Nicas blamed the U.S. for Cuba’s general state of affairs, “Over nearly seven decades of U.S. pressure, Cuba has defied the odds and improvised to survive. Now it seems that Mr. Trump, like many U.S. presidents before him, is also finding that toppling the government founded by Fidel Castro is not so simple.”

After highlighting some interviews with locals, Nicas returned to Trump:

Other than a single Russian oil tanker in March, allies have not been willing to test Washington’s effective oil blockade.
As a result, Cuba has been powering its electric grid solely with domestic oil and gas and a growing network of solar parks sponsored by China. Together, they are enough to support roughly half of Cuban demand, according to Jorge Piñón, who studies Cuban energy at the University of Texas.

Nobody Nicas interviewed put the blame solely on Cuba’s government. He wrote “Exhausted Cubans told us they were angry at both Havana and Washington. Yet no one said they planned to take to the streets. Aside from banging pots and pans, the Cuban people have hardly staged protests.”

That’s not true, but at least Nicas did find one man to tell him, “You go out to express your opinion on the street, and they throw you in jail or fine you.”

However, another man furthered the America-blaming by referring to his solar panels and rickshaw, “Now he can power the entire battery by parking it in the sun for a day. ‘To me, this is the future,’ he said. ‘We’re going to overcome the U.S. blockade.’”

On Tuesday, Nicas admitted in a video report that the electric grid was already failing due to government mismanagement, but still try to suggest Trump was most at fault, “It’s been more than six months since the Trump administration’s oil blockade on Cuba set off what is becoming a humanitarian crisis.”

Nicas's concession is also an understatement. Cuba’s 20+ hour per day blackouts predated the blockade.

In a separate article, Sam Sifton interviewed Nicas about his trip and whether the government had any say in the matter, “How hard was it to get your visa? Did government minders follow you around?

Nicas recalled insisting that he would be fair to the communists, “It took a lot of convincing to get. I met with top Cuban diplomats in Mexico City, Havana, Washington and New York over six months, and sent many letters, to persuade them that we would tell this story fairly. Once we got to Havana to report, we met with Cuban officials a few times, but they otherwise didn’t bother us. We traveled around freely, decided our story targets and chose whom we interviewed.”

Elsewhere in that interview, Nicas conceded “some saw the Cuban government at fault” for the country’s problems, but none of those people managed to make it into the main article.

CNN Refuses to Temper Far-Left Socialists, But Politely Sounds Alarm #Political

The influx of far-left radicals into the Democratic Party has quickly poisoned it from the inside out. Nowadays, if you don’t support transing the kids or abortion up to the moment of birth, you’re a bigot and a MAGA cultist. On Monday’s CNN This Morning, Erica Hill and her guest panelists refused to denounce the new, ultra-radical Democrats dragging the party even farther to the left. However, they seemed to be politely sounding the alarm that American moderates could be turned off.

To the delight of many Republicans, Democrats are engaged in a very public civil war. Moderates, who support liberal economic policies or aren’t fond of President Donald Trump, are being pulled underwater by radicals, who shriek about gay oppression while defending sharia law. On one side are well-established Democrats like former politician Rahm Emanuel, and on the other are ‘anti-system’ leftists like Bernie Sanders or Zohran Mamdani.

Hill began the segment covering Sanders and Emanuel smacking each other in the press, each accusing the other of dragging the Democrats the wrong way. Sanders promoted his slew of far-left socialist candidates, saying that “People are sick and tired of the Rahm Emanuels and the Democratic establishment and the Republican establishment.”

Axios reporter Marc Caputo mentioned that Republicans would see DSA-supported candidates “as a possible advantage because they think, 'well, we've always accused Democrats of being communists. Now they're actually picking communists’ . . . I'm not sure how fully accurate it is, but that's going to be the battle line that the Republicans are going to be drawing with the Democrats.”

Notably, Caputo refused to clarify if the DSA candidates were actually communists.

USA Today’s Francesca Chambers echoed Caputo’s thoughts without taking a stand herself:

Sara Fischer, Axios correspondent and CNN media analyst, said she wants the Democrats to have it both ways:

But Democrats clearly can’t have it both ways. Eventually, every place they control will fall into the radicals’ hands. Virginia Democrats aren't governing in "purple."

As the conversation progressed, most of them seemed to agree that their party’s abrupt leftward lurch might be a turn-off to moderate Americans. They even noted that the far-left was pushing things even outside the tolerances for Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who poses as a moderate:

So, as CNN waffles back and forth over the DSA, the only thing they’re willing to stand for, at least for now, is sucking up to a far-left Congresswoman just because she might be the 2028 nominee.

ERICA HILL: Also want to talk to you about what we are seeing in terms of Democrats. Senator Bernie Sanders standing by his coalition of candidates, even as some Democrats worry that the so-called 'Bernie bros' could tank the midterms.

Obama's former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel making that argument in a Wall Street Journal op-ed over the weekend, blaming the Bernie bros. Adding - for the division - adding, "If the Bernie bros were serious about growing jobs and wages, they would support candidates touting substantive ways to help families."

Senator Sanders firing back:

SEN. BERNIE SANDERS (I-VT): You have an establishment like Rahm Emanuel, who are dependent on billionaire campaign contributors and want to maintain the status quo.

And then you have a progressive movement, which, by the way, what is getting these guys nervous is we are winning all over this country. It's not only Mamdani in New York City. It is in New Jersey, it's in Ohio, it's in Colorado.

People are sick and tired of the Rahm Emanuel's and the Democratic establishment and the Republican establishment. They are asking simple questions.

HILL: How do you see this playing out?

MARC CAPUTO: I see it as a sort of a - the Democrats catching up to where Republicans were in 2010. I mean, it's been written about and said about a little is that this is sort of the Democratic Party's Tea Party movement.

And I mean, obviously their version of it, this, to a degree, is perceived in the Trump White House as a possible advantage because they think, 'well, we've always accused Democrats of being communists. Now they're actually picking communists. Chevalier is the example in New York.'

I'm not sure how fully accurate it is, but that's going to be the battle line that the Republicans are going to be drawing with the Democrats.

SARA FISCHER: I just want to remind people, though, in November, what we were talking about was this becoming the big tent party, right?

Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey, Abigail Spanfeller [Spanberger] in Virginia. This was not just about bringing in Democrats that were super-far-left. These are women with military track records.

And so I think that the Democrats got to figure out a way to get back to that narrative of, 'no, no, no, we're the big tent party, right? We can bring on a Mamdani and that works for New York City, but it's not going to work in a place like Virginia, which is a purple state.'

HILL: Right. And that that's okay.

I thought it was fascinating, too, there was some reporting in the New York Times talking about the rise of Democratic socialists, specifically in the state of New York, right, and their influence.

And in talking to the chair of the Democratic Party in the state, right, he, Jay Jacobs, who raised the concern, saying, 'look, I like some of what they're doing.' But the issue here and I'm quoting him, he said, "Too often they look at moderate Democrats as the greater enemy than Republicans. They don't appeal to people in the middle. Most Americans are moderate."

I mean, how much of a concern for Democrats, right, to your point about big tent, is that this is going so far to the left that they're actually looking at Democrats, moderate Democrats as more of an enemy than Republicans?

LAURA DAVISON: That's a huge problem.

I mean, if you're done with the midterms and just want to focus on 2028, just watch this debate. This is what is going to be, sort of, the central theme, you know, after we get through these November elections.

But you know, there's a prime example in AOC who was sort of the - at the vanguard of this whole progressive movement of, you know, unseating a long standing incumbent. She is now facing questions of 'is she Progressive enough? Is she doing enough for the party?'

You know, this is, you know, a cyclical thing we see in politics all the time. But if you have someone like AOC getting questions, if her bona fides are true, if she's really committed to the DSA mission, that's a problem for the party.

HILL: And meanwhile, you have the, you know, administration and likely most Republicans across the country just sitting back and popping popcorn.

FRANCESCA CHAMBERS: I was laughing. You said 'if you're done with '26 and just to talk about 2028,' because you guys--

HILL: I know you wanted to talk to--

CHAMBERS: --I knew you wanted me to talk about 2028 this morning--

HILL: --that's going to be your next question--

CHAMBERS: I know, I know--

HILL: --don't worry.

CHAMBERS: --and next time, or next time.

But listen, the administration, as Marc was saying, is sitting back and saying that this is going to be their midterm message at this point. Right? You've seen the President, you've seen House Speaker Mike Johnson, a number of other Republicans saying that 'they're Marxists, they're communists, you know, they're socialists that they're going to, you know, you're going to be living in squalor.' I think is what the President said, 'two years from now, they're saying it's free, but it won't be free.'

I mean, that is exactly what the midterm message is right now coming from Republicans.

As far as Democrats go, though, I mean, there is this intraparty debate about the future of the Democratic Party right now and what they want it to look like.

And even if Hakeem Jeffries does take over of the House, I mean, he's going to have a similar problem to Mike Johnson on his hands, where he could only have a margin of a couple. And he's going to have to, you know, barter with them to get things done. If he's the leader, because they won't even commit to making him the leader.

CAPUTO: But the future of the party might be AOC. I mean, I know you don't want to talk about 2028, but the idea that--

HILL: Francesca very much wants to talk about 2028 actually--

CAPUTO: Right, well, the idea that the Democratic socialists now think she's not socialist-y enough, sort of, puts her in the middle to a degree, and that's not a bad spot for AOC to be as a 2028 cycle dawns after 2026.

Throughout this cycle, the Elitist Media have abetted DSA-affiliated candidates running as Democrats: gleefully amplified socialists such as Zohran Mamdani and covered for the sins of others such as Graham Platner. Through it all, they have assisted them in concealing what the Democratic Socialists of America actually stand for. A recent Fox News interview rips that veil open.

Shannon Brean interviewed DSA national co-chair Megan Romer on Fox News Sunday. Here are some of that interview’s most remarkable moments.

After an introduction and exchange of pleasantries, Bream asks Romer to respond to former Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison’s complaints about DSA candidates who hate the Democrat Party. Her response confirms what many of have suspected all along:

SHANNON BREAM: So Jamie Harrison, who was the DNC chair, after you had such a big night in New York City knocking out some of those incumbents and having success with your candidates in the congressional primaries, he said if you hate the Democratic Party, then don't run for our nomination. Don't use our resources and don't rely on our volunteers and don't use our infrastructure and focus on building the party you actually support. Other Democrats out there saying this is a separate party- the DSA- you don't belong within the party. How do you respond to his statements there?
MEGAN ROMER: Yeah, I mean- the two parties have over years and decades created a system where ballot line access is difficult for third parties. I also have been told a lot of times by Democrats “don't vote third party, it’s wasting your vote.” So we run on the Democratic ballot line where it makes sense. We run independents sometimes where that is a viable possibility, but it's a ballot line. And what matters is what the voters think, and the voters are overwhelmingly choosing our candidate.

Romer essentially admits that the DSA is essentially a third party latching on to Democrat structures for ballot access, and that their voters are totally fine with that. Bream then moves on to specific policy positions platformed by the DSA. Although we often focus on the “Abolish ICE” and “Abolish the Supreme Court” portions of their platform, be sure to watch this clip to the very end:

SHANNON BREAM: OK, so we’re going to put on the screen a few things that are part of your platform and I want to ask you to give me sort of a true or false on these: Abolish the Senate.
MEGAN ROMER: True.
BREAM: Okay. Replace the presidency and Supreme Court as we now know them.
ROMER: Yup.
BREAM: Abolish ICE?
ROMER: Absolutely.
BREAM: Abolish borders and give amnesty to anyone currently in the U.S. illegally.
ROMER: As a long term plan, yup.
BREAM: Defund the Pentagon.
ROMER: Absolutely.
BREAM: Abolish prisons, at least in large part.
ROMER: Yeah, again as part of a long term program- yeah.
BREAM: Okay, so no prisons. Government or public ownership of most large corporations.
ROMER: Yeah. Absolutely.

“Government or public ownership of most large corporations” doesn’t mean a 10% stake, but outright seizure. Of the means of production. The DSA co-chair doesn’t deny or dissimulate, either. This is a clarifying moment that we’ve not seen anywhere on Elitist Media. Instead, we get anchors saying DSA are “not communists.”

Bream then pushes for clarification on some of the earlier policy items such as “Abolish the Senate”:

SHANNON BREAM: OK, let's go back through some of those then. Abolish the Senate. There are people in the Senate now who are very supportive of DSA. They lose their seats?
ROMER: Well- the Senate is an anachronistic institution. It comes from the British House of Lords. It is made to protect power for -- the Senate was part of the system made to make sure people didn't have too much of a say, so we want to expand Congress significantly but make it a unicameral legislature.
BREAM: Okay, and without the presidency and the Supreme Court. So, abolish ICE. Would there be any enforcement of immigration laws- or with abolishing the border there’s- we’re not enforcing immigration laws, they go away.
ROMER: Yeah- so, again. This is part of this longer term plan, and part of it includes- think-
BREAM: But if you can get there.
ROMER: Yeah, if we can get to the place where the U.S. is not destabilizing countries in order to mine them for resources, there will be significantly less migration. If we are not-
BREAM: What do you say to those, though, that that would potentially destabilize the U.S.? Because there's only so much the economy can bear, and when you have a flood of people coming in it might not work out economically, according to a lot of analyses, if you just open up the borders and there's no enforcement at all.
ROMER: Well, we’re not saying open the borders tomorrow.
BREAM: But eventually.
ROMER: We are saying rebuild an economy in a society that works for everyone. And the open borders is part of a longer term international plan that involves us stopping destabilizing countries. Most people who are coming to this country are coming as economic refugees and we have destabilized their country. We did that.
BREAM: Well, a lot of- you know, if you look at data, the Center for Immigration Studies says right now the people- the households here in the U.S. that are headed up by people who are here illegally, nearly 61% of them are on some type of government or welfare program here in the U.S. Can we afford to do that? I mean, at some point you run out of resources.
ROMER: Well, right now we make it very difficult for people to participate in society in such a way that they can avoid using services. So we want people to be able to work and live and go to school and actually participate which means contributing to society and also getting that we need from society.
BREAM: Okay.
ROMER: It’s a collective choice we all make.

It should be noted that the Senate, presidency, and Supreme Court cannot be abolished except by drastically amending the Constitution itself. Romer goes on to describe what Congress might actually look like. When asked about abolishing ICE, Romer goes into a redistributionist rant wherein she blames America for people being here illegally. Conversely, illegal immigration can only be stopped by making America into the sort of country people would also flee.

Finally, Bream engages Romer on the DSA’s call for abolishing prisons:

ROMER: When we think about most people in prison. Mostly imprisoned for crimes of poverty.
BREAM: But I am talking about the really --
ROMER: Right. When we get rid of this need for crimes of poverty to exist, when we get rid of that destabilizing force that creates so many people who are living in desperate situations and doing desperate things, that brings those numbers down to a very small numbers and then we can collectively decide what we do with those people. I suspect it won't look like the prison system as we know it today.
BREAM: But you do think some people need to be locked away from society.
ROMER: Some people are not able to be functional members of society. That's true. But what does that look like to keep the rest of us safe? We are talking about safety, we are not talking about punishment. We are talking about making sure that we are safe, everybody is safe, everybody maintains their dignity and everybody maintains their humanity.

Romer tried to go around the issue as much as she could but could not commit to the idea of locking murderers and rapists away for the rest of their lives. “We are talking about safety, we are not talking about punishment.”

At a time when socialism is increasingly popular among the left, the Elitist Media seem more interested in hiding from the public what that means. More perverse than the usual bias by omission, this seems to be a perverse accommodation in pursuit of access to future power. In all, the interview performed an extremely valuable public service. May the rest take note.

Jim Acosta Falsely Accuses Trump of Jailing Journalists #Political

One of the greatest things about living in America is our guaranteed freedom of speech and the press, but the government can fire or otherwise discipline officials who leak classified information to the press without violating the First Amendment. But, according to failed former CNN anchor Jim Acosta and MS NOW’s Ali Velshi on Thursday’s episode of The 11th Hour, the Trump administration’s efforts to identify leaks is horribly authoritarian and Putin-like.

If “your only job were to listen to what the White House press secretary says and report that to the people, that would be a little hollow, right? That would be the kind of thing that they do in authoritarian countries,” Velshi said, ignoring that for almost four years under Biden, that’s exactly what his network did for questions about the president’s health.

“Imagine if those things [Trump says] were reported as true,” Acosta agreed.

On the contrary, imagine if nothing the President said was ‘reported as true.’ That wouldn’t be journalism, either.

“Donald Trump needs to understand he is not Vladimir Putin and this is not Russia,” Acosta continued. “And now, we're seeing journalists being jailed.”

No journalists have been imprisoned during Trump’s administration. Acosta repeated this line several times, and Velshi never once asked him to name a journalist that Trump had supposedly jailed. Maybe he's thinking about Don Lemon getting arrested for a church invasion, but he's roaming free.

Another fascist thing the White House does, according to Acosta? They’re “in charge of who gets to sit where in the briefing room, and who gets to go on Air Force One.”

Trump’s press team allowed smaller media companies to have reporters in the briefing room, but to Acosta, that was a bad thing. Additionally, they don’t let the general public ride on the President’s plane. If that doesn’t scream Nazi, Acosta doesn’t know what does.

Acosta did not mention that his story started when he refused to stop hogging the microphone while an intern tried to move on to the next reporter. He also mentioned the fight to delicense ABC, which the MRC has been supporting.

But missing from Acosta and Velshi’s lamentations was the actual target of these subpoenas. Trump’s administration isn’t interested in prosecuting journalists just for doing their jobs. They’re going after leakers who jeopardize national security by talking to the press about security concerns around the president himself. This kind of leak is different from something like Watergate. Mark Felt never told his media contacts about a potential security flaw that could lead to Nixon’s physical harm.

Contrary to what Acosta would have people believe, journalists are not always the main character in every story.

ALI VELSHI: Joining me now is Jim Acosta, independent journalist and host of The Jim Acosta Show on Substack. He's the former CNN chief White House correspondent. He's the author of the New York Times best seller, The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America, which is an important title for what we're talking about.

Jim, my friend, good to see you. Thanks for joining us tonight.

JIM ACOSTA: Good to see you, Ali.

VELSHI: Let's talk about this for a second. Journalists have sources, right? If your only job, as you were the chief White House correspondent, if your only job were to listen to what the White House Press Secretary says and report that to the people, that would be a little hollow, right? That would be the kind of thing that they do in authoritarian countries.

Your job is to take that information, use your sources, find out whether that information is true or not true. Sources are what we rely on as journalists.

ACOSTA: Yeah, no question about it.

I mean, Donald Trump needs to understand he is not Vladimir Putin and this is not Russia.

And I think what they're trying to do over at the Justice Department, what they're trying to do inside the administration, is put a chilling effect on journalists in Washington and around the country so they can't do their job anymore.

I mean, look at the headlines tonight, the Pentagon trying to artificially lower the number of dead in the war in Iran or Donald Trump's, you know, crazy election conspiracy theory speech that he gave last week.

Imagine if those things were reported as true, as reality. We just can't have that kind of situation in this country. You have to have journalists who are able to do the job.

And, Ali, I worry about the journey that we've been over on over the last ten years. I remember being out on the campaign trail in 2016 and Trump calling us all sorts of things, liars and scum, and then it became fake news and the enemy of the people.

And now we're seeing journalists being jailed. We're seeing journalists having their records sought after, their mother's phone records being sought after, the White House in charge of who gets to sit where in the briefing room, and who gets to go on Air Force One.

And it's spiraling downward quickly. And, you know, when I had my press pass taken away in 2018 - Ali, you mentioned my book, I mean, I wrote that seven or eight years ago - and when my press pass was taken away, it was a Trump-appointed judge who made sure I got it back.

VELSHI: Yeah.

ACOSTA: Now we have Trump-appointed judges when they go through their confirmation hearings, can't even say whether or not Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.

And so, you can only imagine a scenario where this continues to get worse.

VELSHI: So let's talk about - so, in this particular case in the New York Times, it's about whether there was security issues on the plane.

It does feel like once you start subpoenaing people's records and phone records - and phone records of your family and things like that, I don't know how much of that is about getting to the truth and getting to the source.

Some of it is about punishing the journalists. Some of it is about putting a chill on leakers, and some of it's straight out intimidation, because once you start getting involved in a federal investigation as a journalist, you then have to get a lawyer who can handle the federal investigation. If you work for a major corporation, hopefully they'll pay for it. But you're an independent journalist, so that starts happening to you.

It just creates a system in which everybody says, “maybe I should stay out of the way of this government.”

ACOSTA: Yes, that's exactly right. And it's not just the reporters who feel the pressure. It's the reporters' bosses. It's the companies that own those news outlets. They don't want to get in the crosshairs of this administration.

Look what's happening right now with ABC and Brendan Carr over at the FCC. They're threatening the licenses of ABC stations around this country. Donald Trump, just a week ago was threatening the licenses for ABC and NBC stations in this country. And so this certainly has a chilling effect.

And, you know, this is - it's incumbent upon these news organizations to stand tough. They have to stand up to this administration.

You mentioned the Pentagon Papers. Imagine a world in which Katharine Graham and the Washington Post did not stand up --

VELSHI: Yeah.

ACOSTA: --to the Nixon administration. Imagine a world where the New York Times did not stand up to the Nixon administration.

The truth is more important than all of that.

Look at what we've been going through since Donald Trump came into office in this second administration. It's been a pretty dark and disturbing place.

Ali, how do we get out of this corn maze? How do we get out of this hall of mirrors without the free press, shining lights in dark corners? It's the only way out of this.

VELSHI: But ultimately, people could go to jail for this.

ACOSTA: Right. And look at the judge in this New York Times case, the judge, I believe, said to the government, you know, "going after reporters is not the first thing you do. It's the last thing you do. And the circumstances have to be pretty dire for you to even go down that road."

And - but I think there's more going on here. And I agree with Marty 100 percent. I think they do want to put reporters, more reporters in jail, and they want to make it very difficult for news organizations to tell the truth in this country. I experienced that firsthand.

But there's something sadistic about it - there's a sadism in this and, in that Donald Trump seems, and his people seem to really get off on grinding down the free press in this country.

And Ali, this is - I mean, look what's taking place in a day from now. The White House Correspondents’ Dinner, they're going to try to do another correspondents' dinner in Washington, D.C., and news organizations are going to be getting together with the president of the United States, who has been going after the free press with a meat ax over the last ten years.

This is no time to be clinking glasses with the people who would put this industry out of business. It is a time to stand up and stand tough.

And I hope that my colleagues in the press who are at that dinner the other night, that they send a powerful message to the president that this First Amendment is not going anywhere. He is not Vladimir Putin, and this is not Russia.

'Knives Are Out for Vance': The Media Targeting of GOP 2028 Begins #Political

Here it comes. The headline in the Washington Post said it all, in more ways than one.

Knives are out for Vance in the GOP. His allies say it’s a coordinated ‘op.’
The vice president has faced a barrage of attacks recently that are unusual for their intensity and how early in the political calendar they are taking place.

In theory this was just one more boring headline in another day at the political beach.

In fact, it was a totally expected early swipe at the man the liberals who run the Washington Post see as, at this still early stage, one of two potential GOP 2028 presidential nominees.

Vice President J.D. Vance is one. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is the other. There will be others, but these two are the expected heavyweights.

Safe to say, there will be more headlines like this coming from the various outlets of the liberal media. Without doubt various reporters, acting in their real roles as liberal activists, are daily scanning their own outlets -- not to mention others -- for even the hint of a story out there that can make these candidates look bad. Like Vance scheduling a helicopter for his son's golf lesson.

For those coming relatively late to the game, a look back in history can help.

Way back there in the late 1940’s there was a very bright, somewhat awkward young California Congressman named Richard Nixon. Nixon, a seriously earnest young politician stumbled on the fact that there were serious communists in the U.S. government as run by Democrats Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman. One that particularly attracted his attention was a young State Department official named Alger Hiss. Based on tips and serious investigative work, Nixon went after Hiss, accusing him of being a spy for the Soviet Union in the 1930s. Nixon was in fact later proved to be completely accurate about Hiss. And, in fact, Hiss was eventually convicted and did prison time.

All you-know-what broke loose before Hiss’s conviction, with the Democrat Establishment of the day rushing to Hiss’s defense. The whole episode thrust young Congressman Nixon into the headlines, which eventually thrust him into a race for U.S. Senator from California.

Nixon won. But not before the Democrats of the day had come up with a nickname for Nixon: “Tricky Dick.” In the early days of television media, not to mention the anti-GOP newspapers of the day, the nickname stuck. It followed Nixon for the rest of his life, sometimes more boisterously than others.

Moving ahead to today’s political scene, it is a reminder that when a rising political star strikes a nerve, the liberal media of the day will zero in with all manner of negative stories.

Thus the headlines now of attacks on Vice President Vance can be read with a grain of salt. And it takes no imagination to understand that if some hot story surfaces casting a negative light on Secretary Rubio, his opponents in the liberal media will jump on that story. And so too will his opponents in the GOP.

In truth, it is very safe to say that there are liberal activists in the media as this is written who are spending their time looking to get a headline in The Washington Post or elsewhere in the media that targets both Rubio and Vance. And if, in fact, another serious candidate rises from the GOP one can be sure that this person too will quickly be targeted by the liberal media.

But why, you ask?

The reason is obvious and simple. Liberal media outlets have as one of their ongoing objectives to prevent a Republican from ever getting into the White House. And when a Republican candidate does in fact overcome the liberal media opposition and wins the presidency -- a Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Trump et cetera -- one can be sure that this new President will in fact be targeted daily by this or that lefty media outlet. In fact, in this high-tech day and age that targeting would be hourly.

So when a headline like the one above appears, understand well that the real game afoot is the liberal media targeting a potential GOP president. In this case, that would be Vice President Vance.

But make no mistake, the “journalists” who are really liberal activists are doing their research, ready to roll with attacks on Secretary Rubio or anyone else on the GOP side of the line who is seen as a seriously possible potential GOP president.

Which is to say, the media targeting of the GOP 2028 candidate has begun.

Friday marked the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) following the April 25 dinner being postponed following another alleged deranged leftist who sought to assassinate President Trump.

With a third of the original attendance and a different venue, the show went on with all of the awards for anti-Trump screeds, remarks by the President, and outgoing White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) President Weijia Jiang of CBS News, and a mind-bending performance from Oz Perlman.

Given the nearly five-hour runtime from Hail to the Chief to the end of Perlman’s routine, let’s walk through just a few moments and takeaways.

Jiang continued to exude the unity she displayed in April and showed Friday why we would be hard-pressed to find a more level-headed and ego-free WHCA president. As we’ll see, she hit the right points about a reality all too ignored by liberal, elite media: The First Amendment applies to all of us.

Her pre-dinner remarks were laudatory of the President for coming, and praising both Trump and her fellow journalists for how they handled the traumatic first go-around. She argued Trump was right to call the unity following the attack “a very beautiful thing to see.”

“Three months later, it still is. Whatever may divide us, we stand together against political violence. An assassination attempt on our President is an attack on democracy itself. Tonight – tonight, our message is this: We are back. We will not be intimidated. We refuse to let an act of violence have the final word,” she added.

After dinner, she noted Calvin Coolidge was the first President to attend the WHCD in 1924, offered some thank yous, and reiterated her belief that President Trump and the press, in theory, share the same mission, and “duty to serve the American people.”

This went into a moving video about April’s shooting from Jiang’s colleague, CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil:

The next portion was bizarre as an AI James Madison appeared and, in a shot at Trump, reminded those there that while “you’re now worried about tweets, algorithms, and people yelling on television,” no one should be able to change “the rule” that “[t]he government doesn’t get to shut the press up, not when it’s wrong, not when it’s annoying and not when it’s asking uncomfortable questions.”

How stunning and brave.

The AI Madison reappeared later after a package from current and former White House reporters that, while it included a few of our conservative friends in the press corps, it included former and disgraced retired journalists:

Moving to the speeches and awards, new WHCA President Jacqui Heinrich of Fox News praised Jiang, denounced the attempt on the President’s life as “a sobering reminder that democracy is not immune to violence, and the freedoms that we cherish can never be taken for granted,” said “[p]olitical violence must have no home in America,” and delivered an award to the staff of the Washington Hilton.

After Jiang honored law enforcement serving back in April and recognizing WHCA scholarship recipients, it was time for the WHCA’s awards, read out by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. We covered it when they were announced, noting five of the six were for reporting hammering Trump, something we never saw of President Biden until the 2025 show (based on reporting from 2024).

Blitzer handed them out to The Wall Street Journal’s Josh Dawsey (Trump personnel), the Associated Press’s Aamer Madhani and Zeke Miller (Trump purging National Security Council staff), CNN’s Kaitlan Collins (Trump vs. Zelenskyy), Getty Images (Trump appearing uninterested in a man who passed out), The Journal again (Trump and Jeffrey Epstein), and The New York Times’s Tyler Pager (slew of negative headlines).

None of those recipients spoke, but one who did – retired AP photojournalist Susan Walsh for the Dunnigan Payne Award for Lifetime Achievement – did, and she closed with a veiled shot at Trump: “[T]o all the journalists out there who are working incredibly hard to report the truth, despite access issues, insults, and subpoenas. Keep it up. Your work matters and we need you now more than ever.”

Jiang’s keynote was the only thing standing between the world and the President’s address, but she took a candid stroll down memory lane to what would probably surprise a lot of people about her upbringing as a first-generation American in rural West Virginia where her parents ran a Chinese restaurant:

She next delivered some stunning, firmly pro-America, and welcome remarks about the First Amendment as something for “all Americans” and that the press is “not special,” so “[w]e cannot demand accountability without practicing it” by taking in outside criticism:

The President would take up just over the next hour, but started on a humorous note, quipping “this has not been an easy evening for him,” although “it’s great to be back at a place that I know very well because I built it” in his former hotel (now the Waldorf Astoria).

Trump delivered the first of what would be multiple jokes about running for an (unconstitutional) third term:

Also early in the speech and just prior to a denouncement of political violence, Trump had a quip about Nicki Minaj as having been there for the ill-fated first dinner:

Skipping ahead, he paid tribute to both Jiang and Heinrich, making particular reference to the latter’s new marriage to Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), a moderate Republican:

Trump alluded to the work of the Media Research Center when talking about Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt:

Starting with a lengthy riff about the incoming White House Ballroom, the rest of the speech dragged with multiple asides and riffs – otherwise known as The Weave – about current events that would normally be deployed at campaign rallies.

One notable and genuine zinger was this one about the evening’s dinner and Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:

The next series of jokes was proposing a follow-up to UFC 250 at the White House, which would star “Sloppy Chris Christie” vs. Jerry Nadler, AOC vs. a foreign policy question, and Anderson Cooper vs. Lawrence O’Donnell:

Trump had brutal and similar missives to hurl at deranged leftists Jimmy Kimmel, “sick old woman” Rosie O’Donnell, and “pencil neck” Adam Schiff:

Without a doubt, Trump’s most controversial moment of the night came shortly thereafter when, after a benign jab at the Oscars hemorrhaging ratings for being woke, he not only revisited his observation that CNN’s Collins doesn’t smile, but argued her doppelgänger is trans actor Dylan Mulvaney:

Collins’s CNN colleague Jake Tapper was also called out:

The speech continued on with rehashes of past callouts to far-left elected Democrats, so it was surprising when this one about Bari Weiss and CBS News made its way in that, if a Democrat President had said it, the room would have been howling in laughter:

His concluding remarks ran for nearly seven minutes, starting with a concession that “for all of the trouble that you give me, you give me a lot of trouble, a lot of heartache, I hope all of you know that I believe in the free press more than anyone in this room does. Ehh, maybe not quite. But that’s why I’m proud to be the most open and transparent President in history.”

There was a reality check for the press whenever he’s gone: “[Y]ou people have no idea how lucky you are. When I’m gone, you’re all going to be broke. Your business model is going to be finished. No, it’s true. When I’m not around, you’re gonna be broke. There’s not going to be anybody to report on. Nobody gives a damn about anybody else.”

Once he trolled the liberal journalists one last time with talk about third and fourth terms, he declared Friday “an interest evening” because “I didn’t really know what to expect, and it’s far worse than I actually thought, but if you want to know that, but I didn’t know exactly what to expect, and I’ve made a lot of friends tonight.”

Here was how he brought it home following one last Weave:

I just want to say it is a room I have tremendous respect for the people in this room. Sometimes I don’t feel you treat me fair, or maybe you do. I don’t know. I don’t feel that, but sometimes you treat me very fairly, and I have a lot of respect for your profession, your profession’s amazing, and I just want to thank you for having me, and it’s been fun, and I’ve met a lot of great people and, you know, I used an expression, I’ve used it right from the beginning. I did this for one reason, to make America great again, and that’s what’s happening right before your very eyes. We have made America great again. It’s going to get a lot greater. So, thank you all very much. It’s an honor to be with you. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Poor Perlman had to follow a long, winding set of Trump remarks, but he had some spell-binding moments, including this exchange at the end with acting Attorney General Todd Blanche:

Cry Me a River: Vega Says She’s ‘Scared’ to Talk About ‘Stitches’ Left by CBS Firing

Former CBS’s 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega came off like an eye-roll-inducing drama lama on Thursday night in her first set of extended comments since she was fired on May 28 as part of reshuffling inside the liberal newsmagazine, insisting “the stitches” are “still fresh’ and she’s “scared to be talking” given what’s “at stake” for the press in America.

Based on those comments alone, you would have thought Vega had been through some sort of physical ordeal or survived a tour in combat. But alas, it was simply losing her job, something Americans suffer all too frequently and have far less to fall back on. What a spoiled elitist.

Status founder Oliver Darcy was first to report Vega detailed her supposedly painful state of affairs “in an onstage interview with” former ABC colleague John Quiñones at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Conference & Expo.

Darcy just had to lead with Vega having been “the first Latina correspondent” before dropping her cartoonishly out-of-touch laments about how much her life sucks:

In an on-stage interview…of which Status obtained an audio recording, Vega broke her silence, describing “the stiches” from being fired as “still fresh.” Vega said she was “scared to be talking” about her experience working under Weiss, but added that “there is a lot at stake.”
“It’s not that I just lost a job. There is a lot at stake,” Vega said. “Sometimes you got to be scared and do it still.”

What a profile in courage, Nellie Bly.

She also seethed at the “new administration” for “showing up in the [pre-show] screenings and giving their feedback,” which “made me nervous” when 60 Minutes should be an “’island’ with a ‘moat off protection around it.’”

Journalists believing they’re above reproach? Color us shocked!

Darcy said she also “detailed three instances in which she said management attempted to interfere with her stories,” which “add[ed] to a growing chorus of former CBS News employees…who have accused Weiss and her team of pushing a political agenda.”

She said one included her reporting about the far-left protests and anti-ICE chicanery earlier this year in Minneapolis with one, in Darcy’s summation, having been CBS brass asking Vega “to include footage of protesters violently attacking people in the streets whom the demonstrators believed to be ICE officers in plain clothes,” yet she “could find ‘no credible examples.’”

Vega was also allegedly asked to find a clip “from a press conference in which the city’s Democratic mayor, Jacob Frey, said he wanted local police to fight federal ICE agents in the streets.”

Our friends at the Daily Wire found they were less than peaceful.

He said Vega “never found such a moment, deeming it ‘misinformation.’”

The others were just as circumspect. The second was about Iran and she was shell-shocked to be told to peddle an “administration talking point” in arguing “Iran is totally outgunned by the United States and Israel.” Fact-check: True!

Vega’s other example was about food stamps in West Virginia, with the now-ex correspondent claiming Weiss’s team wanted her to interview Vice President JD Vance about his upbringing in poverty over in Ohio.

Darcy said Vega received “loud and sustained applause” with this Spartacus buffoonery: “If you watch my pieces, you’d see those examples did not make them in.”

The networks reported that New Jersey's Democrat governor announced they found 6,600 illegal immigrants on its voting rolls, but labored mightily to play down its importance. They added that only 400 of them voted.

MRC Video content creator Justine Brooke Murray and longtime NewsBusters writer Mark Finkelstein joined the show to discuss.

MRC Bulldog Award winner Drew Holden posted a set of CNN.com headlines that demonstrate their coping methods on election cheating. “Election fraud isn’t really a thing, part infinity” from Chris Cillizza.

Then the story breaks: "6600 non-citizens mistakenly added to NJ voter rolls,and nearly 400 cast ballots, governor says.”

Then back to a dismissive tone: “New Jersey’s non citizen voting reveal isn’t all it seems.”

CNN host Abby Phillip argued the aliens who voted didn't know what they were doing was wrong. The spin is dizzying.

On Thursday's Morning Joe, Jonathan Lemire wrongly claimed that the state “had to acknowledge that a few hundred voters were, you know, non-citizens were mistakenly added to the voting rolls." They never got around to the 6,600 announced by Gov. Mikie Sherrill. But John Heilemann insisted the numbers were "statistically insignifant." We know that would not be the case if Trump votes were illegally cast.

Then there's the Democrat trouble with communist streamer Hasan Piker. He addressed the College Democrats of America national convention while wearing a Mao suit. People located old video of Piker praising Mao Zedong as a "great leader," although he presided over the murder of tens of thousands. But the media portray Trump as factually challenged when he finds communists among the Democrats.

"It’s a great honor to be here in the heart of the American Empire, in the belly of the beast," Piker said. "I’m speaking to the future activists of the Democratic Party, but as an outsider currently pushing for an insurgency.,,,No more to the Democrats who will collaborate and cooperate with the fascists, who will fund ICE, who will fund Israel, who will help poison the planet, "We don’t need those Democrats anymore."

Piker appeared on the campaign trail in Michigan with Democrat Senate candidate Abdul el-Sayed. CNN has thrown some tough questions at al-Sayed. On Sunday, Jake Tapper asked the candidate about audio captured by the Washington Free Beacon where he said he didn't want to have any comment on the death of Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran because he knew the residents of Dearborn were sad.

Actor John Leguizamo continued his media tour that is supposed to be about The Odyssey, but is really just an excuse for him to push his race-based identity politics on Wednesday when he joined NBC’s Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. In addition to The Odyssey, Fallon helped Leguizamo promote his children’s book that purports to help Latin children see themselves in such a book, but what both men left out is that multiple role models mentioned in the book are communists.

Fallon set things up wondering, “Can you talk about what it is and how did it get started?”

Leguizamo claimed the project began with a lament, “Well, Jimmy, so, the scholastic Michael Hagen told me, he said, ‘You know, Latin children are the least represented in children's picture books. Less than five percent of children's books are about Latin kids. You're more likely to see the face of an animal than a Latin child.’ And we're 30 percent of the U.S. population in public schools. So, what does that do to a child's self-worth and self-validation?”

That led “me and my friend from high school, ‘Crash’ John Matos, one of the great graffiti artists in the world” to put the book together.

Fallon congratulated Leguizamo on the publication, “Wow. Good for you for doing that.”

After some quips about what it is like to write a children’s picture book, Fallon quoted the book, “You crushed it. But I just want to say, I like this, the dedication that you put here. You said, ‘To all the kids who felt unseen, unheard, and ostracized and who have to make themselves small, this book is for you, hoping it undoes some of the invisibility and lets you feel large and concrete.’”

On the Amazon page for the book, there are a couple of free previews of what is inside. One features a kid claiming far-left capitalism hater and terrorist sympathizer Greta Thunberg is one of her role models.

A second picture in the preview shows several portraits on a brick wall. For example, Remedios Varo, married a Trotskyite. Diego Rivera was a communist. Frida Kahlo was not only a communist but also had an affair with Leon Trotsky. Gabriel Garcia Marquez was friends with Fidel Castro. Even among those who were not necessarily communists, there are those such as Jose Clemente Orozco, who was still an anti-religion radical.

Leguizamo’s thesis that Latin children need to see a Latin character in a picture book to feel included in America is highly questionable, especially considering it is coming from a man who is doing a media tour to promote his role in an adaptation of a Greek story despite being originally from Colombia. What is certain is that, even if one were to be charitable and grant Leguizamo the point that Latin children need Latin heroes, communists are not heroes.

Appearing as a guest on Tuesday's Morning Joe, New Yorker staff writer Lauren Collins joined show regular Al Sharpton in comparing the election of Donald Trump in 2016 to an 1898 coup by white supremacists in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Host Joe Scarborough began the segment by recalling the violent episode written about in Collins's book, They Stole a City. Here's Scarborough:

A groundbreaking new book is shedding light on what's thought to be the only successful coup in U.S. history. In They Stole a City, our next guest chronicles the city of Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1898, then considered a bastion of black success with a black middle class brimming with lawyers, educators, and elected officials. But in November of that year, white supremacists issued a white declaration of independence, gunning down scores of black men while chasing their families into hiding. They then marched to city hall and overthrew the democratically elected multiracial government at gunpoint.

After Collins recalled how she became interested in the topic, and the basics of what happened, Sharpton invoked Trump in a follow-up question:

Lauren, talk about how there is the underlying principles of some of that when they see black advancement coming out of slavery, Reconstruction era, that they never lose the feeling of white supremacy that we are supposed to be in charge. And that's the underlying feeling that led to what happened in Wilmington.
And some of us feeling that, in a less violent way, it has happened in modern times -- in our times of where you had a Barack Obama as President, black making advancement, and saw that a lot of the reaction was Donald Trump and a backlash, or even Donald Trump and a backlash to Kamala Harris. Talk about how that kind of underlying feeling may be the core of what we saw in Wilmington and still see some segments of that now.

Collins began her response:

Absolutely. I mean, we have to remember, this was only 30 years after slavery and emancipation. These people should have been celebrated for what they've done -- what they had done. It was a huge achievement. But instead it did it -- Wilmington is a case study, a flagrant case study of this pattern of white backlash to black political process -- progress. So pursue reconstruction, you get 1898 -- pursue desegregation, you're met with massive resistance -- elect a black President, endure a white nationalist one who claims that his predecessor was not a citizen.

Nearly 130 years later, the new book weaves together the stories of four Wilmington families who were present at the time, two white families who contributed to the violence, and two black families who survived it. And the author of that book, Lauren Collins, joins us now. She's a staff writer at the New Yorker, and Wilmington, North Carolina, is her home town.

Thank you so much for being with us. You know, I think it was about a year ago that a lot of Americans who had never heard about the Tulsa race riots, never been taught it in school, heard about all the horrors of that. I think you could say the same thing about what happened in 1898 in your hometown. Talk about it. Talk about why it was so significant and why you wrote the book.

I think it's very important to keep in mind that white supremacy is not a blip. It's not a regression. It's a through line of our nation's history. And what Wilmington and the story of 1898 demonstrates is that white supremacists will continue to take what they think is theirs until the costs outweigh the spoils. You know, I think it's very important to keep in mind both the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have designated white supremacy as the most persistent and lethal terrorist threat in America. So, absolutely, this is living history. The story is not over. And I think the origins of many of our current crises are here, right, you know, can be seen in our own violent past.

The anti-Trump newspapers find so many Trump scandals you can't actually tell if some of these things are a scandal. On the front of Monday's Style Section, The Washington Post reported thje president has added a statue of Thomas Jefferson to the Rose Garden. Scandalous? Well, The Post found an art expert to suggest this Jefferson thing reminds them of North Korean communist dictators. Whaaaaat?

The byline on the story is Dan Diamond, White House reporter, and Olivia George, who's "a National Political Reporter focused on political violence and domestic extremism." So a Jefferson statue is for Domestic Extremists with a violent streak? The Post typically employed anonymous sources:

Diamond and George explained: "The bronze, life-size statue depicts the nation’s third president seated with a draft of the Declaration of Independence. It was sculpted by George Lundeen, who told The Washington Post that he received a congratulatory call from Trump this month."

They noted there are now five statues there, three of them on loan from "conservative" collector Harlan Crow, last starring in a Clarence Thomas travel scandal from the liberals at ProPublica.

The Post quoted Trump appointee Rodney Mims Cook: “I think he’s spot-on after the billions in Patrimony we destroyed after George Floyd died,” referring to damage done to monuments during the riotous post-Floyd protests.

Then they turned to a very bitter critic:

“All told, the statues dating to his second term are of negligible artistic value,” Maxwell Anderson, the former president of the Association of Art Museum Directors, wrote in an email. Anderson also drew comparisons between Trump’s preferences and what he said were similar practices by dictators who led North Korea and the Soviet Union.
“President Trump’s embrace of an official classicizing style in art and architecture finds its closest equivalent in authoritarian regimes,” Anderson wrote.

This last line was highlighted in bold italic type in the newspaper. How a statue of Jefferson inspires thoughts of Kim Jong-Il is anyone's guess.

Then they reported on how Trump dared to promote statues of Founding Father Caesar Rodney (an “enslaver”) and of Christopher Columbus:

Two people who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations said Trump — who has faced his own share of protests — has in the past privately said he identified with figures such as Columbus, who was hailed for centuries as a great explorer before his role in colonization and enslavement made him controversial.

Just for their own fun, the Posties recalled: "Several satiric statues have appeared around Washington mocking Trump before being swiftly removed." They've promoted every satirical sculptural attack on Trump.

Recently, the Democratic Party has found itself divided between the establishment wing of the party and a new, much more radical gang of socialists calling for revolutionary changes to party policy. After welcoming the socialist faction into the Democratic Party with open arms the previous day, on Tuesday’s Morning Joe, MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough did a complete 180, attacking “socialist Republicans” for being the real communists in a bizarre and hypocritical rant.

Irate that Republicans were calling out the Democrats were embracing the socialist faction that openly embraces Communist figures like Mao Zedong and Karl Marx, Scarborough shouted about how Republicans were somehow the real socialists:

This president is seizing control of private companies. That is socialism! That is communism! And our debt, our debt is so massive, Social Security is running out of money. Our debt is so massive that we are now spending- you talk about socialists, these socialist Republicans in Washington DC, now have us for the first time spending more money paying the interest on their debt than we spend on defending our country with money to the armed services.

Yesterday, Scarborough was supporting socialists in the Democratic party. Today he's suddenly blaming the "socialist Republicans" for the US debt crisis. In his ridiculous attack against President Trump’s “socialist” policies, Scarborough appears to have forgotten his freakout about Trump’s cuts to government spending. In fact, everything he accuses Trump of is really just a projection of his own positions. Scarborough himself was terrified by Republican spending cuts back during the Biden administration, yet now he claims to care about the U.S. debt?

Scarborough also pretends to care about the armed forces, emphasizing that U.S. debt interest spending has exceeded defense spending. This coming from the guy who has repeatedly endorsed cuts to the military budget and defended radical DEI policies in the military. The only kind of military spending he seems to want is the kind that funds sex-change surgeries for soldiers!

Oblivious to his hypocrisy, Scarborough continues his attacks on the “socialist” Republicans, digging deeper into them “seizing control of private companies”:

I mean, it's- these people are not spending money like drunken sailors. They're spending money like drunken socialists, and they have the nerve, after seizing tech companies - they have the nerve, after spending us into massive debt, to point fingers at anybody else and say, “Oh look at them! They're the socialists! They're the communists!” No they're not. They need to just look in the mirror if they want to see who the real socialists are.

When Scarborough referenced the administration “seizing tech companies,” he was likely referring to the government’s move to buy minority stakes in a number of U.S. tech giants. Is investing in the stock market is socialist now?

On the other hand, he has also argued for the government to break up major tech companies by force, a move that’s much more in line with socialist policy. So which is it, Scarborough? If Trump’s a socialist, are you one too?

Affairs and ICE Harming Babies: Witch Welch Uncorks New Smears on Kirk, Vance Families

I’ve Had It co-host Jennifer Welch stooped to another low and into the demonic on Monday as she suggested without evidence Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance had a fourth baby because of an affair he may have had with Erika Kirk and, as for their newborn, the Vance children could endure painful consequences for their father’s support for immigration policies targeting brown people for “look[ing] suspicious.”

Welch immediately scoffed: “I can’t even read it, we’re excited. It’s just great. Baby’s great, blah blah, yak, yak, right?”

She then asserted that it was worth “remind[ing] everybody that” Vance now has “another mixed race child,” and yet “had an opportunity to condemn racist and bigoted Nazi chats where they were saying horribly anti-Semitic things, anti-black, of course, and anti-Indian in these young Republican Nazi chats...and he didn’t.”

Next came her assertion that Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) could seize their young children and the infant because of their brown skin, and the Vice President wouldn’t defend them (click “expand”):

So, this man who cannot stand up for this newborn baby that he has...I just want you to look at these beautiful children that JD Vance and Usha have, and I want you to remember the Kavanaugh rule. And what the Kavanaugh rule is, is it is a rule that the Supreme Court ruled on that ICE can pull somebody over that “looks suspicious.”
A — an ICE officer could see these little kids and think, oh, are they from Honduras? Are they from Bolivia? Are they from a shithole country? I think they look suspicious to me. So, that is the type of duplicity and homicidal hypocrisy that this administration stands for. These people will not stand up for their own kids.

Angie “Pumps” Sullivan had more than an attaboy to offer, arguing Vance has “failed completely” as both a father and husband before concluding: “[A]nybody that thinks, oh yeah, he’s a great guy, bullshit, he sucks.”

Appearing solo for this segment, Welch smeared Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk as “get[ting] weirder, I just think, like, there’s no way” she can “get worse” or more “bizarre” when she really “need[s] to quit speaking in public...to go get some help.”

The clip in question was Kirk simply telling TPUSA Chapter chairs to stand up for themselves in the event they’re assaulted or accosted by a radical trans person or Islamist.

Showing her ignorance, Welch called such scenarios “made-up bullshit that she is telling all of these cultists” who exhibit mental illness and instability because they “spend their spare time...listen[ing] to her talk.”

“[S]he talks about some imaginary war that doesn’t exist. There is no war between trans people and Muslim people and these cultists. It only exists in their minds. Nobody gives a shit about what you all do. Why are you so consumed and obsessed with this imaginary spiritual war,” Welch said.

Considering the suspect in Charlie’s murder was a trans-loving furry, Erika’s concern is anything but imaginary!

Welch then turned up the hatred by doubling down on the conspiracy she and Joy Reid helped promulgate in November of an affair between the Vice President and Erika (click “expand”):

And then Fox News is looping Erika Kirk into Usha Vance having a fourth child. And I want to remind you guys that Erika Kirk practically dry humped the Vice President on stage at one of those Turning Point events. You remember the way she, like, grabbed his head and how excited she was to see him, and everybody’s like, oh my God, are they screwing? Like that energy is weird. Well then, a couple of months later, Usha ends up pregnant. Like, the timing of all of that, could you imagine if Kamala was embracing somebody like that on the stage somewhere, the slut shaming that would go down. So, now Fox is — there. Look at that. That’s weird. Look at that. You don’t hug a person. You’re not screwing and grow up with her hair like that. Well, Fox wants us to remember that picture, which is weird. I’m like, are they rat-fucking Vance too? Are they in on this? So Fox is revealing that Usha’s influence for having a fourth child is none other than — play the clip.

White House’s champion family values? Are you kidding me? Furthermore, I’m calling bullshit on Usha and Erika being so close. So, does — Erika is a happy warrior against trans people and Muslims? Does that extend to Hindus or not? Or Hindus off the hook? Because in Erika’s worldview, everybody has to be a batshit crazy Christian nationalist. So, I’m not buying that. And, furthermore, nobody with an IQ in the triple digits believes for a second that this White House is so all about embracing family values....JD Vance is a weird guy. I mean, he is so weird. The relationship is with Usha is weird, roping in Erika Kirk into their relationship that she’s there, like — what — birthing coach or something. I mean, that was some weird shit.

The Vance and Kirk families weren’t the only targets of Welch on Monday. She also lashed out at Fox News viewers:

This went into a doubling down of her comments from last week about homeschooling.

The fact that she talked about the blowback was proof that the criticism hurt her feelings, but she nonetheless insisted it was the critics who were “in complete snowflake, stage five meltdown mode.”

Following a clip of Fox hosts Brian Kilmeade and Tomi Lahren tearing into Welch’s comments about homeschooling as “trickle-down stupidity,” Welch insisted she “stand[s] by it” because anyone educating their children that way must to “be dumber than a box of hot rocks.”

If she wasn’t already, Welch became a parody as she added “homeschooling is inherently patriarchal, and it is a huge push of the fascist project because it keeps women at home.”

Welch also reupped her belief that MAGA men are closeted homosexuals: “[T]hey don’t want women to be out in the workforce to make their own money and have independence so they can divorce their piece of shit, closet-case husbands...[T]hey want the women...dead-ass broke homeschooling the kids.”

She closed by directing her attention to Kilmeade and Lahren, wondering why they haven’t quit their jobs to homeschool their kids, which was ironic considering her hare-brained self didn’t care to check that Kilmeade’s children are grown and Lahren currently doesn’t have them.

“So, if you don’t homeschool your kids, shut the fuck up, you two,” she concluded.

Following a MintMobile ad read, she expressed disgust with our friend Libs of TikTok sharing a video of Welch from late June talking about wanting to burn the American flag.

“I just want you guys to realize how soft these people are. Like, the meltdown that these people have...just listen to it, and you don’t like it, or you disagree with me, and move the fuck on. But to sit there, and melt down, and have a whole segment on Fox News about it is utterly insane,” Welch said, which didn’t make sense since she’s called for assassinating MAGA politicians and mass imprisonments of MAGA officials.

Before all this, Welch and Sullivan boasted of President Trump being booed at the World Cup, starting with the former gushing: “Nobody wants his fat ass, and his cankles, and his unathletic pink arm blob in a photograph with elite athletes.”

Sullivan showed what counts for fun: “I love that so much....[W]hen I saw they were getting ready to introduce Trump, I had to turn on the volume because it was Boo City. It was the best part of the World Cup.”

Welch then explained why she was hoping Spain would beat Argentina:

I love just on a personal note that Spain, who has had moral clarity throughout this — rightward shift in Western democracies — Spain has been crystal clear about Israel and the genocide, about Trump’s provocations...I was really, really rooting for Spain because Spain is a country that has shown what a lot of other countries haven’t, which is courage and balls of steel.

On the war itself, Welch sounded like both her fellow lefties and increasing numbers on the right: “We are getting manipulated both by the psychiatrists that work for the Israeli government, that say, here’s what you do, here’s what you say to him, here’s how you get what you want[.]”

Welch: Melania Was Epstein Hooker, GOP Want ‘System...Rigged for White People’ #Political

Far-left charlatans and I’ve Had It podcast co-hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan told their listeners and viewers on Monday that Republicans are a “cabal of submissive wives” collectively “incapable of critical thinking” because they “cling to money, and racism as their driving ethos” and shudder under their widespread closeted homosexuality.

If that wasn’t enough of a Mad-Libs-like potpourri of sniveling punditry, they baselessly accused First Lady Melania Trump of having been a sex slave for disgraced child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and that she met now-President Trump in the 1990s because Epstein “assigned and/or passed” her “on.”

Their edition of I’ve Had It Podcast News began with Welch complaining about a Republican strategist as having told Axios the GOP’s midterm strategy will be winning over voters by having them “hate” Democrats.

Welch immediately launched into why Democrats should “quit trying to get Republican” votes:

Republicans are a personality type that are incapable of critical thinking, that cling to money and racism as their driving ethos, and to shield from their greed and to shield from their just abject immorality. They — Christian signal. Oh, family values. Oh, my God, these trans people. So, that’s why you hear Donald Trump saying all the time, it’s trans everything. It’s transgender for everybody.

It wouldn’t be a podcast without accusing Republican men of femininity: “Trump and his cabal of submissive wives are terrified of drag queens of books, of diversity, of black people, of women, of lesbians, of gay people, of trans people. These people are the softest people imaginable.”

Shifting to a New York Times report the FBI will no longer be investigating “ICE confrontations,” Welch asserted that supporting such policy is coming from “pathological liars” “who lecture everybody about family values and, you know, we’re a Christian nation.”

The supposedly brave, tough badass insisted with cartoonish stupidity that Republicans “want a system that’s rigged for white people. Full stop. That’s, they want the money rigged for them. That’s — they want all of the jobs rigged for them.” “They want — they feel superior and, underneath all of that, are morally inferior and morally depraved human beings.”

Whining leftists have to “share this country with” the GOP, she further said they’re no more than “pussies” that need to “fucking go put your pacifier in your mouth, you titty baby.”

Welch pivoted to the weekend arrests of the chauvinistic, creepy criminal Tate Brothers in Miami and Andrew’s feminine dress as an encapsulation of the right’s widespread homosexuality: “In this right-wing movement, you have these men that have these sexual secrets, and they’ve all kind of formed these alliances and, to keep their secrets, they’re plundering Western civilization.”

“But this is the biggest group of closeted bis, bi-curious, gays, queens. I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s just — these ‘men,’ I’m going to say in quotes, are really broken, disturbed individuals that the most religious — the most outwardly religious people in our country refuse to condemn,” she added.

Sullivan apparently had something to offer besides her standard role of clapping seal.

Going off of internet conspiracy theories, she asserted without actual evidence that the Tate brothers are hand-in-glove with the Trump administration, proving they “don’t give a fuck about little girls being raped and sex trafficked.”

This went straight into Welch’s closing rant, citing Russian businessman, former Rudy Giuliani associate, and first Trump impeachment supporting actor Lev Parnas’s conspiracy theory about the First Lady having only met her now-husband by being sex trafficked in Epstein’s criminal enterprise (click “expand”):

And I want to remind everyone that Paolo Zampoli — he is the man who is very close to Trump, who provides a lie and alibi, in my opinion, for how Trump and Melania met. Of course, Paolo Zampoli’s ex-wife Amanda Ngaro said that they met because Melania was a hooker and Epstein assigned and/or passed on Melania to Donald Trump.
So, the Tate brothers were partying with Paolo Zampoli before their arrest popped this up: “Andrew and Tristan Tate spent the days before their arrest partying in Washington, D.C. as guests of Paolo Zampoli, Donald Trump’s U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships and a longtime friend of Trump and Melania. Zampoli is the former modeling executive who says he brought Melania to the United States and introduced her to Donald Trump. His name has also surfaced repeatedly in reporting surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s modeling world connections. And there’s more. Zampoli previously acknowledged contacting a senior ICE official about Amanda Ngaro, the mother of his child during a bitter custody dispute. She was later taken into immigration custody and deported, although Zampoli denies that he asked ICE to detain her. Now we learn that the Tate brothers — facing rape and sex trafficking charges in Britain — were being welcomed and entertained in Washington by a Trump administration envoy shortly before federal authorities arrested them in Miami. That raises some very serious questions who invited them. Who did they meet with? And why were they being embraced by someone so close to Trump’s inner circle? Stay tuned. There are so much more [coming].” This comes from Lev Parnas.
And I want to say, why are they parting with people in Trump’s inner circle? Because birds of a feather flock together. That’s why. Paula Zampoli is lying, per his ex-wife. He is lying and providing Melania and Donald cover that he introduced them when his ex-wife says no, it was through Jeffrey Epstein. And I tend to believe the ex-wife and let me tell you why. Because Melania did that bat-shit crazy press conference out of the clear blue sky when nobody was asking what her interactions were with Jeffrey Epstein. She just volunteers all of this crazy as shit. And, of course, Donald Trump, and all of the people have no problem with Andrew Tate. They have no problem with Tristan Tate. Birds of a feather flock together. And I just want to leave you all with this. It is not normal for a heterosexual male to say having sex with a woman is gay. Like, there is Freudian shit all through this all through the Trump regime, and it is homophobia plus misogyny plus a closet full of secrets, and those are the men that are plundering our nation and the Western world at large right now.

Exit question: When is the First Lady going to file a defamation suit against these cartoonishly miserable creeps?

DSA-Endorsed Dem House Hopeful: Politics Is About ‘Redistribution of Resources’

Donavan McKinney, a far-left contender seeking to oust Congressman Shri Thanedar as Democrats’ candidate for a Detroit-area congressional district, says that he defines politics as “the redistribution of resources.”

On the May 5th episode of the podcast, “For the safe of the Argument with Lori Goldman,” McKinney, who is currently a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, stated that he defined politics as about “the redistribution of resources”:

“And I believe how I define politics is the redistribution of resources, black and white. There’s no grey area. If you’re in these positions and you’re not figuring out some way to bring home the bacon and bring home resources, then I need you to get out of here”

On the podcast, he touted his appropriations record in the Michigan state house, but he does not indicate from where he intends to redistribute the resources, though his endorsement by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) on Monday indicates potential recipients

Last week, DSA released its platform, which includes its intent to implement many programs designed to redistribute resources. Among these is its intent to “Finish Reconstruction” by enacting reparations (presumably for slavery and discrimination). The plan also includes redistributing land to American Indians, providing free (taxpayer-funded) college, universal free healthcare, and “Economic Democracy,” which entails the establishment of a wealth tax and public (government) ownership of large corporations.

DSA policy requires that candidates it endorses must support the DSA platform, according to its National Political Education Committee Chair, Michaela Brangan, in its platform release video:

“This is actually something that we committed to at convention, having our endorsed candidates supporting the program. It’s a requirement now. So that’ll be incorporated into our endorsement process …”

The Michigan primary will be held on August 4th and will be on the same ballot as the contentious U.S. Michigan Senate Democrat Primary between Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) and far-left progressive Abdul El-Sayed.

That led to an interesting situation on Friday's edition of CNN's The Situation Room, where Democrat strategist James Carville ripped those, including CNN, who chose not to carry the speech, although he had an ulterior motive for speaking out.

Host Wolf Blitzer began the segment with a clip from California Governor Gavin Newsom, whose astute analysis of Trump's speech was, "He wants to rig the election in 2026. He knows he's going to lose. He needs to rig the election before one vote was cast. That's what that whole thing was about."

Blitzer then brough on Carville, who may have shocked viewers at first.

BLITZER: How would you advise members of your Democratic Party to handle President Trump's speech last night and rebut the work of his administration as we get into the full swing of the midterm election season, the midterm elections coming up in November?
CARVILLE: I would advise them to attack CNN, attack ABC, attack NBC, attack MS NOW, because they didn't air the speech.

What? Was this James Carville? His next sentence proved it was indeed.

CARVILLE: And I think the President of the United States acting loonier than a tune is newsworthy. I don't think we should have hidden that from the American people. I think there should have been blanket coverage of it. He's literally off his rocker. And there's no other way to describe this.

Several questions come to mind, that veteran journalist Blitzer could have followed up with, but the best he could come up with, was this softball.

BLITZER: So, you think we should have given him more publicity? Is that what you're saying?
CARVILLE: I'm absolutely saying that. I think the decision not to air that speech by CNN and other networks is not being what's really newsworthy. And this guy, he's gone. He was advised by his own staff in a story that I read, I think it was in Daily Beast and Politico, that don't be crazy.

Carville took out of context what the Politico story actually addressed. In talking about trying to get Trump not to dwell on the 2020 election, and quoting an unnamed source, the story noted, “It was as on the rails as possible,” said a White House official, granted anonymity to discuss internal thinking. “The senior team just talked and prepped him. I think they explained the way to be taken seriously is not to be crazy.”

Far from noting the misrepresentation, Blitzer's two word response, before attempting to defend CNN's edited coverage of the speech was simply pathetic.

BLITZER: Interesting analysis. We did air a lot of the newsy excerpts from the speech, and then we had full analysis and fact-checking going on.

In fact CNN aired The Source with Kaitlin Collins while Trump spoke, and brought on John King to trash the speech when it was over.

Carville wasn't finished. Blitzer asked him to respond to a clip from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), speaking prior to the speech, about the speech, but he went right back on the attack against Trump.

BLITZER: So, now post-speech, James, what's your view of the leader Schumer's assessment?
CARVILLE: I think he knows he's going to lose.... And, of course, he knows he's going to lose, but he couldn't execute. What he was trying to do, he couldn't execute it....He's literally crazy.

Carville then took aim at the networks who did not air the full speech.

CARVILLE: I think the mistake was made by the networks to not show it in its entirety so people could see him in full and understand just how far this man has gone down the road to insanity. I would say there was nothing normal about that. And you can do it with clips and you can get people on, but there's nothing like people sitting there watching the whole thing to tell them what's really going on.

James Carville is James Carville, we know what political side he's on. The more disturbing aspect of this interview is that long time veteran journalist Wolf Blitzer just sat there, with no pushback on any of Carville's outrageous claims. It certainly looked like we know what side Blitzer is on as well. This is CNN!

Stelter: Networks Skipped Live Trump Speech to Be 'Reality-Based and Truth-Based'

On Friday morning, CNN media analyst Brian Stelter insisted ABC and NBC and CNN refused to air President Trump's speech on election integrity live because they want to "remain reality-based and truth-based." Their attempts at "prebuttal" and rebuttal were, he claimed, a "truth sandwich" with Trump's lies in the middle.

The segment on CNN News Central began with a discussion of the contents of the speech, but soon turned towards the media’s reactions to the address. Stelter supported NBC and ABC’s decisions to avoid airing the speech at all. Comparing it to CNN’s own efforts to suppress live coverage, he said this:

NBC and ABC both went on the air with special reports to explain that the speech had happened, and to summarize what Trump had said, but most importantly, to contextualize it and fact check it just as CNN did. Now, Trump was ominously claiming that the networks were part of a plot. But the only real plot here, the only intention is to remain reality-based and truth-based.

As usual, they paint themselves as Truth and Reality and Trump as just Lies. They refused to air the real speech, instead running interference and correcting Trump’s address as they saw fit.

Stelter continued by explaining why the networks shut down coverage of the President’s address:

Trump's election lies led to violence after the 2020 election. So this is a subject that really does warrant extra care and attention by journalists. And frankly, some network executives felt that it would be dangerous to just air Trump's speech live in full, unedited, without knowing what he was going to say ahead of time.

He also coined the laughable phrase “truth sandwich,” to describe how CBS covered the speech:

CBS took more of a truth sandwich approach, starting with the truth, then showing Trump's speech - part of the speech, not all of it - and then resuming with more truth, with more fact checking afterwards. And I think that makes a lot of sense.

Continuing onward, Stelter would compare the media’s policies to previous media censorship of President Trump:

That's where we are in America, and we have been here before. Remember, during some of Trump's COVID-19 briefings in 2020, some of the medical misinformation was so unhinged, the networks broke away from those briefings.

Stelter claimed that, because the media censored Trump more in the past, their current censorship is also somehow justified. He went as far as to blame “where we are in America” for the censorship, as if they aren’t to blame for cutting out Trump’s address to the nation.

Trump was justifiably upset that many of the largest media networks in America weren’t airing a major announcement regarding America’s election security, but Stelter tried to play it off as Trump merely wanting attention:

Kate, the claim from Trump that NBC and ABC should lose their network licenses, that's really the tell here that he wanted the wall-to-wall attention. And now he's angry about not getting it.

By infantilizing Trump, Stelter attempted to de-legitimize the President's valid concerns about the media arrogantly presuming it has all the facts. It’s a desperate attempt to justify what can only be described as blatant political bias by the media.

KATE BOLDUAN: So before the speech last night, the White House took a rare step of formally asking the broadcast networks to take it live to air. Two networks did not, and President Trump made it a talking point.
[Cuts to video]
DONALD TRUMP: In a rare move, NBC and ABC fake news have both said that they would not cover this speech. [Transition] They and others in the media are part of a plot. They want to continue this fraud for whatever reason. They want to keep it going.
[Cuts back to live]
BOLDUAN: The president went on to say that NBC and ABC should have their broadcast licenses revoked. CNN's chief media analyst Brian Stelter, joining us now. It would be like, just add it to the list of reasons he has said that over and over again, Brian. But what are you learning about this?
BRIAN STELTER: Yes, yes. NBC and ABC did the same thing as this network, CNN last night. The newsrooms monitored the speech, evaluated what was actually newsworthy, looked at the documents Trump was declassifying, and then reported on what happened.
NBC and ABC both went on the air with special reports to explain that the speech had happened, and to summarize what Trump had said, but most importantly, to contextualize it and fact check it just as CNN did.

But last night, Rupert Murdoch's FOX networks did show Trump live. CBS took more of a truth sandwich approach, starting with the truth, then showing Trump's speech - part of the speech, not all of it - and then resuming with more truth, with more fact checking afterwards. And I think that makes a lot of sense. And that's what we saw from CNN as well, where all night we were really trying to contextualize and explain why Trump was doing this, what he was claiming, what was real, what was not real.
But as you said, Kate, the claim from Trump that NBC and ABC should lose their network licenses, that's really the tell here that he wanted the wall-to-wall attention. And now he's angry about not getting it. This morning, though, on Truth Social, he's claiming he received a big audience for the speech.
There are no TV ratings available yet. There won't be until many hours from now. But on YouTube, I'm noticing there are not really high ranking, very popular videos for this speech yet. It did not land necessarily with a big amount of attention.
And here's maybe the best tell of all. Fox News did not spend much time on this after the speech. They moved on right away. Fox News, barely talking about the speech this morning. That tells me some of Trump's allies in MAGA media know this might not be a winning issue for him.
BOLDUAN: Well, I mean, we also have very expensive lawsuits that people have faced when airing misinformation as it's come to these election lies. But I'm just going to- I'm- I think my takeaway today, Brian, is “truth sandwich.” I think that is exactly what we all need a little bit more of.
STELTER: Order that at the deli for lunch, get a truth sandwich! That's right.
BOLDUAN: It's good to see you, Brian. Thank you Fred.

NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas sat down with actor John Leguizamo for Friday’s “Great Americans” segment to help him promote both his far-left identity politics and his appearance in The Odyssey. However, neither man appeared to realize the hypocrisy inherent in that.

Llamas recalled how Leguizamo has over 100 screen credits but wondered, “You've been so successful, but it's rejection. It’s auditioning, not getting a role, people tell you, ‘We're not into you,’ or whatever, you're too Latin, you're not Latin enough. How did you deal with that?”

Leguizamo replied, “You have to have tough skin, but luckily for me, coming from the ghetto and underprivileged, I felt everything was a success. Every crumb, every tiny molecule of success was a huge win.”

Llamas then transitioned to promoting Leguizamo’s role in The Odyssey. Interestingly enough, there weren’t too many Colombian-born immigrants in ancient Greece. Most people wouldn’t have a problem with that when it comes to adapting The Odyssey, but for Leguizamo such considerations are sometimes so important that he will boycott a film if he doesn’t approve of casting choices. Therefore, it is interesting to note some Greeks have voiced frustration that Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey doesn’t have any Greek actors in it.

After recalling how Leguizamo landed the role of Eumaeus, Llamas returned to identity politics, “But even with all his success, Leguizamo has never forgotten where he's come from, delivering this message to Hollywood at the 2024 Emmys.”

In a clip, Leguizamo was shown declaring, “For years I didn't complain about the limited roles my people were offered: the spicy sexpot, the Latin lover, the maid, the gangbanger. Turns not complaining doesn't change anything.”

Llamas then wondered, “So, you're at the podium behind that mic and you light the place on fire. Why?”

Hollywood may be one of the most liberal places in the country, but Leguizamo insisted it was “Because of the world we're living in, man. I see myself as an artist, and artists are political. Artists take risks. I think you have to risk things in life to get more things, especially for your people.”

In a voiceover, Llamas added, “And for Leguizamo, that's all part of being an American.” Back with Leguizamo, he asked, “What is an American?”

The bitterly divisive Leguizamo claimed a true American helps unite people, “An American is a person who is considerate, respectful, who believes in others, who protects the vulnerable, who helps others achieve their dreams. Who unites, who saves the world, and keeps peace.”

Leguizamo may live in a world of identity politics, but when the opportunity to make some money provided itself, he did not hold himself to the same standards he demands of everyone else. One would hope he would learn from his experience, but he’ll probably just go back to cursing at President Trump while torturing a piñata and calling it comedy.

Blow Calls New York Post's Moynihan 'Child', Navarro Says She's 'Lying' On CNN's NewsNight

Viewers of left-wing cable news shows have come to expect that for the most part, those on the left are treated one way, and those on the right are treated with less respect, less tolerance, and awarded less legitimacy for their points of view. That's exactly what happened to New York Post writer Lydia Moynihan Wednesday on CNN's NewsNight with Abby Phillip, where she was lectured to and called a "child" in one segment, and accused of lying in another, by two different panelists.

Phillip began the first segment with a clip from Wednesday's Senate hearing with Jay Clayton, Trump's DNI nominee, where he did not answer the question, who won the 2020 election. She then turned to Moynihan.

PHILLIP: Lydia, that's kind of embarrassing and maybe a little concerning if, intelligence is what he wants to have the job of doing. If he can't just state a fact, how can he do that other job?
MOYNIHAN: I would've liked him just to say yes and put an end to the discussion....I do have to say it's funny.... I kind of thought maybe people would be glad to have Jay Clayton and Todd Blanche, people who are eminently qualified for these jobs.

As CNN's Sabrina Singh, the former Biden Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, started to respond to Moynihan, she was interrupted several times by former New York Times columnist Charles Blow, who turned to address Moynihan,.

SINGH: I actually think that the two --
BLOW:: Do you acknowledge that Joe Biden won the election?
SINGH: The two people that were on the Hill today --
BLOW: No. Did you -- so you can do it just now but he couldn't do it?
SINGH: The two people that were on the Hill today are legitimately unqualified.
MOYNIHAN: I know you're trying to get a social media clip, Charles, but --
BLOW: Do you know --
MOYNIHAN: I think Sabrina was trying to talk. I know you're trying to get your social media clip or the gotcha. I answered your question already, but I'm also not here to answer to you. So --

That set Blow off.

BLOW: I'm happy that you told me that because I really appreciate. I'm sorry. I really appreciate you lecturing me about what I'm here to do, because I'm here because Abby's show invited me here, and I have been in journalism for a very long time. In fact, I came to The New York Times when you -- the year that you were born.
So, I would choose, I suggest that you choose a lane that is your own and stay in it, and don't lecture me, because I won't be lectured by a child. Thank you.

All Phillip could muster was, "All right, look. Go ahead." This, from the woman who shamed Shermichael Singleton for saying "boys" in girls' sports.

This may have opened the door for how Moynihan was treated, in a later segment on recent ICE shootings, by Ana Navarro.

It began with a discussion on Trump ending a pause in vehicle stops by ICE. One of the shootings took place in Maine, and after Phillip played a clip of Maine Senate candidate Nirav Shah, who hopes to replace Graham Platner as the Democrat nominee, it was Moynihan's turn.

MOYNIHAN: I think the knee-jerk reaction we're seeing from him and some of the other candidates to basically call ICE a rogue agency....And people do want ICE. They don't want to see ICE abolished. And so I think the left is going further and further in a way that actually will alienate voters....And I think it's important when we talk about this issue to provide the context because they see every day that passes if we aren't deporting potentially unvetted illegal criminals that there's an opportunity cost to that.

That was Navarro's cue.

NAVARRO: They're not criminals.
MOYNIHAN: There's an opportunity cost to that. Every single day --
NAVARRO: These people were vetted. He had a legal --
MOYNIHAN: Last week, there was somebody --
NAVARRO: He had a legal permit to be in the country and he was not a criminal. And over 70 percent of the people that are getting deported and detained do not have criminal records. So, be careful with your words and be accurate on national TV.
MOYNIHAN: My point is that --
NAVARRO: You're lying.
MOYNIHAN: I'm not lying.
NAVARRO: You're lying.

The segment continued with both Phillip and Singh backing points made by Navarro.

Even though both Blow and Navarro crossed the line of decency and civility in a big way, Phillip didn't seem to have a problem with it. After all, the target was a Republican. This is CNN!

O’Donnell Loses His Mind Over Trump’s ‘Deeply Sick’ Address #Political

President Donald Trump’s Thursday night address wasn’t met with much noise from the liberal media, mostly because a lot of them chose to ignore or downplay it, but not over at MS NOW. On that failing network, Lawrence O’Donnell of The Last Word has never been good at subtlety, especially not when he gets a chance to bash Trump. He spent the entirety of his Thursday show whining about the orange fascist dictator, using the same kind of dramatic, aggressive rhetoric that he spews every evening, such as describing Trump’s “deeply sick” speech as “political pornography.”

“So, he started off in a typically perverse, Trumpian way, with a typically deeply sick Trump statement,” O’Donnell began, using the phrase 'deeply sick’ for the first time, but nowhere close to the last:

That's the sentence that was put in the teleprompter for him by the deeply sick people who work in the White House. . . It is so deeply sick. Every single beat of this speech is deeply, deeply sick. A deeply sick delivery by a deeply sick person.

Seems like the O’Donnell bot glitched there. Maybe MS NOW should update its software.

O’Donnell also ragged on Trump for saying that, before he was President, “We had transgender for everybody.”

While that phrase may not have been grammatically perfect, it still made more sense than how O’Donnell chose to interpret it:

So I guess that was, what? Donald Trump's way of coming out as transgender? Because "everybody" means the guy who's saying it. . . That was right at the beginning of his speech, this obsession that he has with transgender issues and transgender people, and suddenly all 300 million people in America were suddenly, in this demented man's hallucination, transgender, and then what? He got us all back to whatever gender he thinks we were before he got to be President?

First of all, Trump should come out as transgender and force the Democrats to laud him as the first woman president. But, unfortunately for the memes, that wasn’t what he was doing. And O’Donnell can’t pretend to not know what Trump was talking about there. After all, zero of Trump’s White House Easter celebrations have involved topless transgender activists. He restored some sanity to America in that way.

O’Donnell wasn’t wrong when he said Trump’s speech was all about pushing the SAVE America Act, which it was. But he overreacted to the extreme, even for MS NOW:

It was an utterly ridiculous thing from start to finish. . . after Mitch McConnell issued a proof of life photograph earlier this week, Donald Trump delivered a proof of dementia video tonight, 25 minutes of it. . . Because Donald Trump's pathological lying and screaming outright insanity on this subject year in and year out has become so easily predictable.

If O’Donnell defined dementia as predictability, then he’s the next Joe Biden. If you’ve ever had the misfortune of watching The Last Word, then you know how predictable O’Donnell’s monologues are. They blend together so much that the only way you can differentiate them is by seeing if the quote on the backdrop changed.

But O’Donnell saved the craziest smear for last, saying that Trump “defiled the White House once again tonight with a 25-minute demented exhibition of political pornography,” just to push the SAVE Act.

Political pornography? It’s rich that O’Donnell called Trump demented, because he seems to have forgotten what Bill Clinton got up to in that Oval Office.

He said this lie, that everyone knows is a lie, written for him in the teleprompter. It wasn't an ad lib. He said, "Now we pay the lowest price for prescription drugs anywhere in the world."  He put that lie, had that lie written into his teleprompter, and that's how he began his speech.
And it began as what seemed like a State of the Union address halfway through the year, just a State of the Union address. “These are all the wonderful things I've done with this presidency,” including “We won in Venezuela” and “We are winning big in Iran.'
That was there. That was right there in the beginning of his presentation tonight, which was really, as I told Jen, about simply getting to the point where he could make his pitch for this bill that is never going to pass the United States Senate. And Republican senators have said they will never pass the bill.
And that's what he was out there doing tonight, talking repeatedly about what he called cheating and interference in our elections.  And there is no American who has tried to cheat and interfere in our election in a bigger way than Donald Trump himself, who was indicted for it.

And it all came down to this moment of just trying to get to pass this bill of his that he wants to pass. And that's really what it was all about. It was an utterly ridiculous thing from start to finish.
The networks who refused to cover it did exactly the right thing. And of course, they got their license, their broadcast licenses threatened tonight by Donald Trump for doing exactly the right thing in refusing to air his stream of madness.
And so here we are after Mitch McConnell issued a proof of life photograph earlier this week, Donald Trump delivered a proof of dementia video tonight, 25 minutes of it. Election dementia anyway, at minimum, election dementia.
Because Donald Trump's pathological lying and screaming outright insanity on this subject year in and year out has become so easily predictable.

MS NOW's 'Fascism Expert': Voter Roll Maintenance is Purging 'Legitimate Voters' #Political

MS NOW’s guest host of Thursday’s The 11th Hour, Catherine Rampell, welcomed “renowned” “fascism expert” Prof. Jason Stanley to join her in reacting to President Trump’s speech on election security. During his reaction, Stanley would display an odd definition of fascism as he claimed that Trump’s call to clean up the voter rolls is really just an attempt to scrub “legitimate voters from elections.”

Rampell began the segment by gushing over her guest, “There are those among us who have seen this moment coming for some time. One of them is Jason Stanley, the renowned philosophy professor and fascism expert.”

She then read something Stanley wrote in June, ‘“Since the summer of 2025, Trump and his cohort have been acting like they have a plan to win the midterms without having to broaden their popular support. In fact, Trump has never tried to broaden his popular support, instead waging war against states that voted against him and denouncing those who vote against him as domestic threats. We can now see various elements of this plan fall into place.”’

Rampell then wondered, “Jason, how does tonight's speech play into that plan that you identified last summer?”

Stanley began his response by declaring, “Trump is engaging in what I call undermining propaganda. He's using the idea of election security to undermine election security. He says, ‘You want a safe election, then you're going to have to do these things.’”

However, Stanley’s examples of “these things” were not necessarily convincing. One example he provided was the age-old issue of gerrymandering, “Well, those things are actually going to undermine having a free and fair election. Now, there's been various parts of this plan to undermine the midterm elections. One has been gerrymandering that is already done.”

Stanley’s examples were only about to become less convincing, “Now it looks like he's trying to justify scrubbing the voter rolls of register—of genuine voters. So, he did that by saying that there are all these non-citizens voting or registered. So he's trying to push mass scrubbing of voter rolls to eliminate voters, legitimate voters from elections.”

Proper voter roll maintenance is required by federal law, and there has been a problem with blue states seemingly not properly adhering to that law. Nevertheless, Stanley claimed, “The other thing he's trying to motivate, everything he's saying is trying to justify some action that would make the midterm elections less free and less fair.”

In addition to being the law, accurate voter rolls should be seen as a simple function of good government akin to fixing the potholes, but for MS NOW everything has to be discussed in the context of fascism.
