The Hammers are demanding a staggering £80 million for the Portuguese star as they attempt to raise around £150m through player sales following their relegation to the Championship.

Fernandes has rapidly emerged as one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe. Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping a close eye on his situation.

It is clear that United may have to pay above market value to sign Fernandes simply because of the intense competition for his signature.

However, meeting the £80m valuation would not be sensible.

Fernandes is a highly rated central midfielder who can defend tenaciously and also play incisive forward passes.

It was widely reported that Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing personal terms with the 21-year-old.

That development has understandably sparked concern among sections of the United fanbase.

Many supporters believe INEOS should accelerate negotiations and move quickly to secure the deal.

We firmly believe INEOS are handling the situation exactly as they should.

They are fully aware that the London club are under pressure to generate significant funds before June 30, which marks the Premier League and EFL accounting deadline.

If no rival club submits a serious offer, United may find themselves in a much stronger position to negotiate a fee closer to £60m before the end of the month.

This measured approach represents a major shift from how the club operated in previous years.

The old Man United would likely have matched the asking price and handed Fernandes one of the most lucrative contracts at the club.

The new strategy may appear frustrating to some supporters, but it reflects a far more disciplined and sustainable model.

In the worst-case scenario, if Tottenham or another rival agrees to pay the full £80m, United should remain calm.

Any club willing to meet that valuation would arguably be paying a substantial premium for a player who is still developing.

The Red Devils are reportedly weighing up a £50 million move for the West Ham United winger.

The 24-year-old is expected to leave the Hammers following their relegation to the Championship.

While some supporters remain unconvinced about whether Summerville is worth such a substantial investment, his performances at the World Cup are beginning to silence those doubts.

The winger scored for the Netherlands in the 2-2 draw with Japan last weekend.

He started on the bench against Sweden yesterday but completely changed the game after coming on in the second half.

He played as a right winger and made an instant impact.

He slipped a clever pass to Denzel Dumfries after dribbling away from two Swedish defenders.

The new Real Madrid full-back responded with a brilliant cross that Cody Gakpo converted with ease.

After just seven minutes, Summerville added an assist to his tally.

He picked up the ball at the centre of the pitch before driving forward.

Spotting space opening up, he released Gakpo with a simple but intelligent pass and the Liverpool forward smashed home to make it 4-0.

Summerville regularly drifted inside, also showing his ability to play as a number 10.

In the 89th minute, Summerville exchanged passes with teammates before surging forward with purpose.

After accelerating towards the edge of the box, he unleashed a precise strike into the bottom-left corner to cap a superb cameo.

It is hardly surprising that Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in securing his signature this summer.

The Spanish champions are determined to sign a new striker this summer, and they have earmarked Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez as their prime target.

However, a deal won’t be easy to secure. Real Madrid recently failed with a £130m bid for the Argentine, and Atletico could well hold out for a much higher fee.

Sporting director Deco has Alvarez as the primary priority, but he has listed alternatives if a deal does not go through. United star Sesko is among those names.

United unlikely to entertain Sesko’s exit at any price

Sesko joined the Red Devils from RB Leipzig for an initial £66 million last summer.

He was the subject of interest from Newcastle United during the same transfer window, but had an easy choice to make once the Red Devils made a formal offer, given they were his dream club.

The Slovenian had a slow start to his career in a 3-4-2-1 formation under ex-manager Ruben Amorim, but found form once the club reverted to a traditional set-up (4-2-3-1) after the Portuguese’s exit.

Sesko was in and out of the starting XI under manager Michael Carrick earlier this year, but he scored multiple winning goals. He ended the season with 12 goals, with nine of those in 2026.

The 23-year-old, described as a player with ‘world-class potential‘ by Amorim, should only get better next season, having built chemistry with his teammates. He has the potential to notch up 25 goals with the club back in the Champions League, which means more playing time.

Marca have surprisingly linked Barcelona with Sesko, but United are unlikely to entertain his departure at any price. Instead, the club are focused on bringing in a possible competitor to the squad.

Joshua Zirkzee has failed to meet expectations during his two seasons at United. The Dutchman has been linked with a return to Serie A. His departure could pave the way for a new striker signing.

United could still do business with Barcelona this summer. There is a possibility that Marcus Rashford could return to the Blaugrana on a permanent basis after a successful season-long loan spell.

The Red Devils ended the 2025/26 Premier League season on a high note with a third-place finish.

Luke Shaw was ever-present throughout the campaign. He was an undisputed starter at left-back under manager Michael Carrick during the second half.

Despite this, United may want a solid competitor behind the Englishman, given the extra workload next term with the club’s return to the Champions League.

United played just 40 matches last campaign, but that number could increase to more than 60m if the club go deep in the Cup and European competitions.

Shaw stayed unscathed with literally just one game per week, but the situation could be different next season with extra training and matches to contend with.

Patrick Dorgu is a solution for Carrick, but the Dane has been vulnerable defensively with his positioning and looks more adept playing as a left-sided winger.

His future could be higher up the pitch. This has led to speculation that United could swoop for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall this summer.

The Englishman could be prised away for £50 million, but we won’t be surprised if Carrick looks for a solution within after the World Cup exploits of Noussair Mazraoui.

Mazraoui has played exclusively as a left-back for Morocco at the World Cup and has delivered two top-class performances against Brazil and Scotland in the group stage.

The £17.1 million signing has completed 91 percent of his passes at the global showpiece, and has been brilliant defensively too, with five duels and 2.5 tackles won per game.

He has also made 4.5 recoveries and four clearances per outing, and has barely put a foot wrong.

In our view, Mazraoui’s versatility in both full-back positions should be utilised. The right-back has shown that he is clearly capable of operating from the opposite end too.

United could therefore save £50m in transfer fees on trying to find a new left-back. The funds could be better utilised to pursue another midfielder or further bolster the attack.

It was revealed last Tuesday that Man United are considering making a £50 million move for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.

The Red Devils have already made enquiries about his situation, with the Dutchman widely expected to leave the Hammers following their relegation to the Championship.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Arsenal have joined the transfer race for Summerville.

Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping a close eye on the talented winger.

Summerville endured a frustrating debut season at West Ham after arriving with huge expectations.

2025 was a forgettable year for the winger but he has been in lethal form this year.

All seven goals and five assists he produced for West Ham last season came this year.

The Hammers are under growing pressure to generate funds and balance their finances after relegation.

Summerville is one of their most sellable assets. His stunning goal for the Netherlands against Japan at the World Cup has only increased his reputation and market value.

United are looking to sign a new winger to strengthen their squad.

The return of Champions League football means INEOS must build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.

Summerville could represent a smart long-term investment due to his age, experience and untapped potential.

He is only 24 and could further develop his game under manager Michael Carrick.

However, before committing a fee in the region of £50m, United must be absolutely convinced that Summerville can deliver consistently at the highest level.

German outlet Fussballdaten now claim that the Red Devils are monitoring the situation of Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.

Dortmund are ready to sell Adeyemi for £35m as he has just one year left on his contract.

Liverpool and Aston Villa are said to have made contact with his representatives, while Chelsea and Fenerbahce are also considering a move for him.

Adeyemi scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 39 games across all competitions last term.

He was a regular in Dortmund’s starting line-up but lost his spot in the second half of the season, which cost him a place in the Germany’s World Cup squad.

Adeyemi can hurt defences with his direct dribbling, explosive pace, intelligent runs in behind and powerful ball-striking ability. He also has an impressive work rate.

The 24-year-old, who was once described as ‘world class‘ by former Dortmund manager Niko Kovac, is primarily a right winger, but can play anywhere across the frontline.

However, the Germany international lacks consistency in his decision-making. He averaged just 0.6 key passes per game and created just six big chances in the Bundesliga last term.

While he is available at a cut-price fee, he is expected to demand a huge salary, potentially making a deal difficult for United.

Adeyemi would add pace and directness to United’s attack, but they may be better served targeting a more well-rounded and consistent forward this summer.

There is internal confidence that a deal can be completed, especially with Fernandes preferring a move to Old Trafford.

West Ham are in urgent need to sell

There is interest from Tottenham in the 21-year-old but it is difficult to see Fernandes choosing a move to North London unless United unexpectedly withdraw from negotiations.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Arsenal have also tracked his progress closely, yet all three clubs are understood to be aware of his desire to move to Old Trafford.

There are several reasons why the latest Tottenham speculation should not cause panic among United supporters.

The Portuguese international considers Bruno Fernandes his footballing idol and would relish the opportunity to play alongside him at the Theatre of Dreams.

The emotional pull of that prospect should not be underestimated.

There is also a strong possibility that some of the recent noise is being generated to increase pressure on INEOS and force a higher bid.

West Ham are currently seeking a fee close to £80 million for their prized asset.

The Premier League and EFL accounting deadline falls on June 30, leaving clubs with limited time to balance their books.

The Hammers are actively exploring player sales over the next 10 days to avoid potential financial complications after their relegation to the Championship.

The Red Devils have no intention of matching the current valuation and would prefer to complete a deal closer to the £60m mark.

The coming days could be decisive in determining the future of Fernandes.

The pressure was firmly on the Selecao after their frustrating draw against Morocco in the opening group match.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti made a major change to the starting XI, replacing Igor Thiago with Cunha in attack.

The United forward repaid that faith in spectacular fashion, scoring twice inside the opening 36 minutes.

Making his World Cup debut, the 27-year-old enjoyed a slice of fortune when a defensive clearance ricocheted off him and found its way into the net.

It may have calmed a few of his nerves as he took his next goal-scoring opportunity with aplomb.

Vinicius Jr slipped him through with a clever ball and Cunha smashed it emphatically to beat the goalkeeper at the near post.

The angle looked almost impossible, but the Brazilian somehow generated the perfect combination of power and precision.

Brazil will now need a point against Scotland to progress to the next round of the tournament.

However, Ancelotti will be demanding all three points as Brazil target top spot in the group.

The Italian coach may now view Cunha as one of the most important attacking pieces in his squad.

Cunha repeatedly drifted into deeper areas, dragging defenders out of position and opening dangerous spaces for the wide players to exploit.

He recorded an 86% pass completion rate and won 80% of his duels.

Critics may point out that Haiti are ranked only 87th in the world, but the Selecao desperately needed a player to take responsibility and Cunha answered that challenge in emphatic fashion (and with a surfboard).

United head coach Michael Carrick will be delighted to see his key forward continuing his purple patch.

He will now hope the Brazilian can use this World Cup momentum as a platform to reach even greater heights next season.

The Red Devils will part ways with Casemiro when his contract expires at the end of June, while Manuel Ugarte could also head for the exit door after a below-par 2025/26 season.

United have already agreed a deal to land Atalanta midfielder Ederson, and talks are ongoing with West Ham United to secure the services of highly rated Mateus Fernandes.

Amidst this, Spanish journalist Miguel Serrano has now revealed that Real Madrid are looking to part ways with Eduardo Camavinga as they seek to bring in another midfielder.

Camavinga has no intention to leave Los Blancos as things stand, but could eventually do so. He does not feature in the plans of newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman would prefer a move to the Premier League with a ‘Big Six’ team other than Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. He has no intention of joining Juventus.

United are the only club that have expressed keen interest in the 23-year-old.

Madrid want €60 million (£52m) to sanction the Frenchman’s sale, but United could propose a lower figure. The Red Devils have yet to hold formal discussions with the La Liga outfit.

Man Utd could view Camavinga as Fernandes’ alternative

The Red Devils appear determined to land Fernandes’ signature from West Ham. The Hammers want £85m for a sale, but United have no intention to pay such a hefty transfer fee.

Despite this, the hierarchy remain locked in negotiations, and there is optimism that the Portuguese could be signed for less, as the Hammers need to balance their books after top-flight relegation.

If West Ham don’t change their stance soon, United could turn their attention to Camavinga, who would be a quality acquisition given his big-game experience and ball-playing ability.

The Frenchman averaged only 53 minutes per La Liga game last term, but still completed 92 percent of his passes. He won 63 percent of his duels with three recoveries and two tackles per outing.

The 23-year-old lost possession less than five times on average. He would be a top-notch signing. Comparing Fernandes and Camavinga, we would personally prefer United to pursue the latter instead.

However, United seem sold on finalising a deal for Fernandes. If there is a change of stance, Camavinga could emerge as a top target. A transfer could be agreed for £45m plus performance add-ons.

According to the Daily Mail, Rashford is “managing a niggle” and could once again be restricted to a substitute role when the Three Lions face Ghana in their second group-stage fixture on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old entered the pitch in the 72nd minute against Croatia as a replacement for Anthony Gordon.

He wasted no time making his presence felt, scoring England’s fourth goal in a thrilling 4-2 victory.

Rashford reportedly felt something in his glute area and he did not feature when England beat Sporting Kansas City 5-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday.

The United academy graduate is currently expected to return to Old Trafford once the tournament concludes.

Barcelona opted against activating the £26m purchase option in his loan agreement despite the forward enjoying a highly successful season with the club.

Rashford produced 14 goals and 14 assists for the Spanish champions as they cruised to another La Liga title.

His impressive campaign enhanced his reputation, but it was not enough to convince Barcelona to make the move permanent.

It was recently revealed that he has a £40m clause in his contract at the Red Devils.

Upon returning to Old Trafford, Rashford’s salary is expected to rise to around £320,000 per week.

INEOS have worked aggressively to lower the wage bill and create a more sustainable financial model.

Reintegrating Rashford into the first-team squad on those terms would be viewed internally as a significant setback.

United will be hoping Rashford enjoys a successful tournament to encourage potential suitors to pursue a permanent transfer rather than another temporary loan deal.
