For Part 1 click here. I love vibrant true red hair colors. I wasnt looking for a box shade. So I added 2 more tubes of Loreal HiColor Hilights in Red mixed with Wella Color Charm Cream Developer in 20 and let it set 45 to 60 minutes. This time around my hair  color turned out much more red than it had previously with the first mix. In the sun this shade was on fire. I love it. I really do. But I still wished for more red. I know you all are thinking. I have to bleach my hair if I want some real intensity and a vibrant red and you are probably right but at this point as I am getting my feet wet with the color I decided to give it one more go with Ion Semi Permanent hair color over the top. No Ammonia or Peroxide.- No more damage right? ok… here goes nothing…

I was originally going to have my stylist dye it for me. But after hearing about the maintenance of red hair and cost of upkeep I decided to try it myself verses going broke I was lucky to have Nymphette talking me through it otherwise I probably would have never jumped. If you know Nymphette you know she is no stranger to hair color including bright fun shades. She recommended a product she had used before called L’Oreal HiColor Hilights in Red. (red box) Being the chicken I was I also bought Loreal HiColor in Red Hot (black box) to tone down the color- fearing I wasn’t ready to go all the way red.

I mixed 2 tubes of Loreal HiColor in Red Hot H9 and I tube of Loreal HiColor Hilights in Red with Wella Color Charm Cream Developer in 20. Left it on my hair for 30 or so minutes and rinsed. I chose 20 because I didn’t have a lot of dye in my hair and I didn’t think I needed to go lighter than one or two shades. As an afterthought I probably would have chosen 30. Oh well.

The result was pretty. I liked it. But it was more burgundy than I wanted. More plum than red. So I decided to get more of the Loreal HiColor Hilights in Red and put it on without mixing it in Hopes that this would give me the color I wanted. If I was gonna do this. I wanted to be happy with it… So here goes nothing… Take Two! (Click for those results)

I recently tried the Faux Hair Bangs by Scunci. When I first saw the bangs I was so excited. Bangs are a huge commitment! I love the idea of clipping them in and out. As well as eliminating the maintenance of the weekly/bi0weekly trim!

Heres an example of me wearing the bangs. Now you can see in the first picture how the bangs come straight out of the box. They are 6 inches long with even longer pieces  to the sides to help the bangs blend. The length is great but they are definitely not ready to wear. But they are perfect cause you can actually cut them to fit your face. Believe me I cut them quite a bit before I was happy with the result. But that makes them perfect and adjustable for everyone.

In my eyes Tarte can do no wrong. I really havent ever come across a product from the brand that I havent liked.  I was able to try Aqualillies For Tarte Glamazon™ Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick and my thoughts were no different. The color I tried was Timeless, a gorgeous bright coral. This lipstick glides on the lips so nicely. One swipe- amazing payoff. It begins to dry on the lips and you loose that creamy feeling but that is where the lipstick locks on.

The first picture is Tarte’s Timeless first thing in the morning when I left for work. and the second picture is on my way home from work. This is the same application. I didn’t reapply throughout the day once. You can see that the color could definitely be touched up. But its very much so still there!

A new cosmetics line that I have learned about recently is Painted Earth. This brand offers all natural and cruelty free products. Now if you know me you know I tend to wear a bit of everything. I lean toward quite a few of my favorite brands because they are vibrant and long lasting on the skin. These are musts for me. But when I started using products from Painted Earth I found that they as an all natural line also met those two conditions for me. I love everything I have tried so far from this brand and am proud to tell people about it. I posted some swatches on their shadows and glitters a while back, check them out to see the kind of vibrance I am talking about. I have so much to say about the line and additional products but with getting back to work and a new baby I am having a hard time balancing the blog. But today I am going to tell you about their Luxe Mascara and Gel Liner.

Painted Earth Lash Luxe Mascara and Super Wear Gel Liner are two products I have been using from Painted Earth for the last month or so. Those of you who read have heard me time and again talk about my terrible lashes. I really have a hard time reviewing mascara and I don’t think its entirely fair for me to comment on mascara because honestly nothing works for my sad short thin lashes. The Lash Luxe Mascara did lengthen my lashes a bit, even more so noticeably on my bottom lashes which is definitely appreciated. But I didn’t notice anything on the top. But as I said its rare a mascara offers me any benefit on top. Which is why I always wear falsies.

The Super Wear Gel Liner is a gel pencil that I have come to love. My go to liners are Urban Decay 24/7 in Zero or Make Up For Ever Aqua Evers 01. The blackness and longevity of the Painted Earth pencil is definitely comparable to these liners but in an all natural product. If I closed my eyes and you handed me one, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between my MUFE pencil and the painted earth pencil if didn’t know which one I had applied.
