When I went to The Makeup Show last month I was introduced to a new glitter line called Violet Voss. I didn’t get a chance to fully check out their booth but I did receive a sample to take home during the show. If I would have tried the sample before leaving LA I would have bought everything on the spot at the show. But instead I had to order online. Which you can believe I did.. with speed.

The color I received to try was Rose. A bright beautiful true red. This glitter is so fine it doesn’t clump up and irritate your eyes nor does it hurt when you are trying to remove. I also added the Rose glitter on top of my lipstick and I couldn’t feel it. No grit at all!

When I wore this on my eyes I used Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. I love this as a base for all glitters and powders. It really does make them grab on and lock these powders down. (I spoke more about it here). The glitter remained smooth and in place all day and removed easily. The swatches are on top of Violets Secret Weapon. Which is a bit like the Pixie Epoxy. They both have a thin glue like texture and dry quickly.

Violet Voss sells a lip primer to help the glitter stick to the lips. But since I didn’t have it I applied the product on top of lipstick that was wet or on top of gloss and it stuck easily. It definitly lasted longer on top of the gloss however. I will have more to say about these glitters as I use them, But I can tell you I am already having a blast and making sure to incorporate them in each days look. Be back with more details soon.

 These are swatched on top of Violet’s Secret Weapon and I have been wearing them over Lime Crimes Eyeshadow helper. Both work great to lock these powders on.

Remember when I told you about my initial experience with Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick Infrared. Today I am wearing Fuchsia Flash. Same great formula and amazing color payoff – exactly what I have come to expect from this product. MAC’s Embrace Me lip liner is a perfect match for this color. So if you have it you already know how bright and intense the color is.

BTW- These are my new favorite lashes. Red Cherry Number 600. If I didnt have 100 other pairs to get through I swear these would be the only ones I would ever buy again! My favorite prior to these were Number 1′s. They are similar but they alternate lengths. I love the way they look on.

Mac Cosmetics Ronnie Red from the Archie s Girl collection. A beautiful raspberry red that I absolutely love. But one of those lipsticks that I paid far too much for because I caught onto the hype too late. I havent paid much attention to launches lately and caught the buzz for Ronnie Red on Instagram. Im glad I have it but there is nothing unique about it. It reminds me of a Givenchy lipstick I had a couple years ago.

At any rate I will use it and love it and remember this instance the next time I am feeling like I missed out. I will update with swatches.

I was excited to try a few new makeup items from Pixi and Pop Beauty. I have loved both brands since trying them a few years back and continue to keep up with whats new every time I am in Target or Ulta.

The items I have most recently tried are:

Extra Eye Bright Liner- An EXTRA Eye Brighter which is made to be brighter than the existing version.  This is a white automatic pencil liner that you can use on your waterline to make your eyes appear brighter. This is perfect for those with small eyes. My eyes are large so I tend to close them off with dark liner to make them appear smaller. So you can see how each serves a great purpose depending on what you need.

Endless Silky Eye Pen- Silky is no lie. These liners go on smooth like butter and go the distance. The eye pen dries quicky, is super pigmented and lasts for hours. This color is Copper Glow. Its beautiful. It has taken me a couple times to wear it and feel comfortable. I typically wear black but this shade is dark enough that I didnt feel like it took the intensity from my eyes as I feel some lighter shades can do.

Natural Brow Duo- One end is a curved eye pencil and the other a wand of brow gel to help keep those hairs in place. I typically use brow powders so this was something that was new and fun for me to try. I really like the long shape of the point of this brow pencil but I thought it was a bit hard to apply. Very waxy and not as much color as I wanted. But hey maybe all brow pencils are this way? or maybe not…

Peak Performance Mascara- From Pop Beauty. A UK Brand that can be found at your local Ulta or Online- I am not sure what I think of this product exactly. I had a bit of a hard time with the brush. Alot of product comes out and when you go to use it again on another day you have alot of extra product that needs to be cleaned off. I like how the little brush allows you to push up and apply mascara exactly where you need it most. But with my barely there lashes it was hard to apply without them looking “gunky” (for lack of a better word)
