New Super Group Rank: Super Leader!

With the launch of Issue 14: Architect the New Rank #6 Super Leader position will be active within the game. This is a heads up that the change is coming soon, and we wanted to cover the details of how leadership will be selected at launch and how players can transfer leadership, should they wish to, once the feature is live.

Issue 14: Architect is expected to go live on Wednesday 8th April.(This date is subject to change up to and including the last possible second). As this is coming soon, be sure to discuss with fellow super group or villain group members which player should be set in the new rank, and also any ground rules for how those players should use this position.

How is Super Leader selected?:

The Last leader to log out will be promoted when I14 goes live.
There is a 24 hour tie-breaker, if multiple leaders log out at the same time.
If multiple leaders log out within 24 hours of each other, the leader with the earliest join date will be promoted.

These parameters are meant to help players work out who they feel should be promoted to the Super Leader position within their respective groups and to make that happen naturally once the servers go live.

If the wrong person does get promoted, there are 2 options:

The current Super Leader can promote the correct person using the Super Group Screen. After they promote someone else to this position they will be moved back to leader rank (see steps below.)
Otherwise, file a ticket with Customer Support. They will review the case and take appropriate actions to resolve and possibly put the correct player in the position. We are encouraging you as the player base to work to resolve any conflicts over leadership within your group first before resulting to Customer Support.

If you do find that you need to contact Customer Support, be aware that they are only going to be reviewing cases where possible violations may be occurring. Customer Support will not intervene to settle issues in which supergroup members disagree with the current leadership.

Steps to Transfer Leadership:

If a Super Leader needs to transfer leadership, they can promote any online leader to the super leader permission.

The procedure works just like a normal promotion, except a message box will ask to verify the change in leadership.

Here are the exact steps:

The Super Leader selects the appropriate Leader in the Super Group window.
The targeted Leader must be on-line.
Click Promote
A message box pops up, asking if you want to promote this character to Super Leader:
Click Yes
The new character becomes Super leader, and the old Super Leader becomes a normal Leader

If you use sleep effects, make sure your team know about it - slept enemies need to be attacked at once to make sure you dont get taken by suprise when they wake up.

How joyful it was to sleep enemies to have a team member use an AOE straight afterwards...

Welcome to the Official City of Heroes European Message Board! We hope you enjoy your time here discussing the game and getting to know your fellow gamers.

The primary function of this message board is to provide an area for player interaction and also to submit feedback to the development and publishing teams behind City of Heroes.

Please keep in mind that this is a board solely dedicated to City of Heroes -- therefore, discussions having nothing to do with the game (for example, real world news/matters) will be removed. We would like to keep this board City of Heroes specific, and therefore encourage you to participate in other message boards available on the Internet should you wish to participate in non-game related discussions. We welcome any topics on this board that directly relate to City of Heroes, comic books and/or general hero culture.

We have created the following list of message board rules and guidelines to keep this an enjoyable environment for us all. Violations of these guidelines may result in your removal from this message board and/or potential suspension (or permanent closure), of your City of Heroes game account.

THREAD/POST CONTENT

1. Post in the correct forum and do not cross-post.

If you are unsure of where to place a post, choose the single most appropriate forum. No need to cross-post to multiple forums -- we'll see the post no matter where you place it. If you cross post, or spam the forum, your posts will be removed and you will be contacted for violating the forum rules.

2. Keep feedback constructive.

All feedback on the game is appreciated as long as it is constructive. Keep it straightforward and include examples and facts when applicable. For example, "This game is **** !" is not constructive feedback. "I am not liking the following things about the game and here's why..." is constructive and useful to us. The best way to get your opinions recognized is not to be abusive or offensive, but to be constructive and communicate in a mature fashion.

'I'm leaving' threads are removed due to the inevitable flaming that immediately ensues. They are thus no more than troll threads. We welcome constructive feedback and are always sorry when a customer is unhappy.

'NERF X!' threads are removed for much the same reason as 'I'm leaving' threads. They immediately turn into flame threads with little or no constructive information.

3. Keep feedback high-quality.

Please avoid frivolous and duplicate postings. Threads to announce that the servers are up (after a downtime), for example, or threads made just because you want to be the 'first post' in a newly created section of the board, are not quality postings and cause us extra work to remove.

Avoid posting random and off-topic conversation in the General Discussion forum. Off-topic threads/posts will be removed without notice or explanation.

4. Know the search function. Use the search function.

Before you ask a question, please check the City of Heroes European website. If your answer is not there, please use the 'Search' function located at the top of every page of the boards. Your question may have already been asked and answered elsewhere on the forums.

5. Read before you post.

Development and publishing staff may be posting to several threads on this board, often with explicit information. Before adding a post to a thread, please review the entire thread to be sure that the question you are about to ask hasn't already been answered.

6. Hosting your own images.

You will find that we do not host screenshots and other images on this message board. You are more than welcome to link to images hosted in other places (like on your own personal website), as long as they are of an appropriate and non-offensive nature. Links to images that are inappropriate will be removed immediately and you will be contacted for breaking the forum rules.

GENERAL CONDUCT

1. Abuse will not be tolerated.

No flaming, trolling, harassing, profanity, abusive language or abbreviations, personal attacks, racial, religious, ethnic, or sexual slurs.

This applies to both 'public' threads and private messages. Do not link out from a post or private message to these types of content.

Flaming is defined as attacking others in harsh, personal terms.

Trolling is defined as deliberately posting derogatory, inflammatory comments/threads in order to bait other users into responding.

Personal attacks include, but are not limited to, 'naming and shaming' another player or insulting them directly:

"You are stupid, you suck, and you should [censored]."

Directly attacking another poster will result in a warning. If the behavior persists, you will be banned.

No personal attacks against forum moderators. If you disagree with an action taken by a moderator, you can send your complaint via PM to the moderator.

Posting solely to single out a player for ridicule is also prohibited.

2. No spamming or thread bumping.

There are no circumstances under which spamming or thread bumping is acceptable. If you ask a question on the board and it hasn't been addressed by a moderator, there is a reason for that (or there is not an answer currently available). Bumping or spamming will not make the answer appear any faster, so please refrain from doing it. This includes, but is not limited to: comments not contributing to the board, advertisements, cross posts, and messages posted repeatedly.

3. No 'Petitioning'.

Do not create threads/posts to 'petition' NCsoft for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a 'petition' for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.

4. No 'Calling Out'.

Do not create threads/posts asking for a Dev or Red Name to address an issue, or respond. Instead, create a well thought out post with a descriptive title. Devs and Red Names read the boards regularly and will see your post. If they have a comment about the issue, they will add it.

5. Censorship Posts.

All posts referring to message board censorship will be removed. All message board content is allowed/removed at the discretion of NCsoft and/or NCNC. These posts will be removed and the poster warned. Any further posts will be removed, and the poster will be banned from the message boards. Also, working around a ban to continue posting is also prohibited and may incur an extension of a current ban.

No personal attacks against forum moderators. If you disagree with an action taken by a moderator, you can send your complaint via PM to the moderator. [Edit - To contact GhostRaptor, please email ghostraptor@ncsoft.com ]

6. Bad Word Filter.

The CoH message board has a bad word filter. CoH is rated 12+ and is therefore censored for language. Any attempt to circumvent this filter will not be tolerated. First offenders will have their posts removed and will be warned. Subsequent offenses will result in the poster being banned from the message board. Also, working around a ban to continue posting is also prohibited and may incur an extension of a current ban.

7. Respect the opinions of others

Often times arguments can't be won, so if you have a contrasting opinion, please state it simply and clearly. If necessary, agree to disagree with others who may have differing opinions. When discussions turn to long, hostile arguments, the thread will be closed or removed.

Also, do not respond to others opinions by suggesting that they "just quit" or with the implication that they are just "whining/crying." This is NOT constructive.

8. No signature pictures.

Avatar icons are allowed as long as the images are below 20k in weight. 'Heavier' icons, inappropriate avatars, and any signature pictures will be removed without notice.

RULES OF CONDUCT

Below are the general Rules of Conduct for the game and official message board. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with these rules and follow them!

The following rules govern basic interaction within the City of Heroes game and the City of Heroes website (including message boards). Please be aware that failure to comply with these rules of conduct may result in the termination of your City of Heroes game account according to the City of Heroes User Agreement.

In addition to these rules of conduct, explicit rules affecting your account may be found in the City of Heroes User Agreement.

1. While playing City of Heroes, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.

2. You may not post or communicate any player's real world information (name, address, account name, etc.) through the City of Heroes game or on the official City of Heroes website.

3. You may not use sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language.

4. You may not post or link to any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive imagery or content.

5. When communicating in City of Heroes using Global Chat (server wide chat), you may not spam, flood, or make duplicate posts.

6. You may not impersonate any NCInteractive or NCsoft employee.

7. You may not violate any local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.

8. You may not market, promote, advertise, or solicit within the City of Heroes game or on the official City of Heroes website.

9. You may not modify any part of the City of Heroes Client, Server, or any part of the official City of Heroes website unless expressly permitted and consented by NCInteractive.

10. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying, selling, trading, sharing, or transferring access to any City of Heroes account.

11. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.

12. You may not arrange for the exchange or transfer of any pirated or illegal software while using the City of Heroes game or website.

13. You will follow the instructions of authorized personnel while in City of Heroes or on the Official Website.

14. You may not organize nor be a member of any pledges or groups within City of Heroes that are based on or espouse any racist, sexist, anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-homosexual, or other hatemongering philosophies.

15. You may not provide false information or intentionally hide any information when registering for your City of Heroes account.

16. You may not upload or transmit on City of Heroes or the official City of Heroes website any copyrighted content that you do not own all rights to without the express written permission of the author or copyright holder.

17. You will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running City of Heroes.

18. You will not exploit any bug in City of Heroes and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of City of Heroes.

19. You will not attempt to play City of Heroes on any server that is not controlled or authorized by NCInteractive or its designees.

20. You will not create, use, or provide any server emulator or other site where City of Heroes may be played, and you will not post or distribute any utilities, emulators or other software tools related to City of Heroes without the express written permission of NCInteractive.

It is very important to us to maintain a system of forums that allow new and veteran players alike to address concerns to the company as well as help each other. To do this, a certain amount of decorum and civility is required. We reserve the right to update these rules as necessary, so please take the time to review them on a regular basis. Thanks.

Let's be civil and not use the "it" pronoun to refer to anyone. We are all human beings here. It could easily be construed as a direct attack and demeaning attempt and in case some of you are not aware, this goes against the rules of conduct.

You get a slot for every 12 months.
