One thing that is for sure after all these years of guiding fishing is that the many benefits that fishing provides are enumerable. After the past few years that we’ve all been experiencing I’ve personally witnessed that once people/clients arrive and get out of the water it’s the equivalent of them taking their fingers off of the balloon before tying the knot. And the balloon goes everywhere and makes funny noises too! Spending time outdoors WITHOUT a device is incredibly healthy for many reasons. Seemingly, just about the entire world now spends an inordinate amount of time looking down at some type of device. I just recently read that it was 15 years ago when Steve Jobs introduced the iphone, and as they say “the rest is history”. So, here we are now and LET’S GO FISHING!!!

Here it is yet another New Year! We hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season. As a family run business we greatly value the wholesomeness of all of our families both personal and our business partners as well!

As you can tell by the graphic below we’re off to a great start for the mountain snowpacks in every drainage we guide on and hopefully that trend will continue throughout the next 4-5 months. We are now booking our 2023 trips in the Pinedale, Jackson and Fontenelle areas of Western Wyoming and look forward to getting you out on the river. Spring Fishing on the Snake river

Believe it or not we’re getting closer to the spring fishing season and the continued trend that we saw last season of bookings is still very high. Reel Deal Anglers is planning on getting our float trips out in Mid March once the ramps are plowed out for the access to the river with our outfits. The water supply for the Snake River drainage is looking solid at this point, thankfully. Check out the teacup diagram below to view the current reservoir capacities.

After last years insanely busy fishing season we all, collectively, have concluded that fishing and being outdoors truly soothes the soul. And that fact was never any more clearly represented in 2020. Once every single person who made the journey to Wyoming and met the guides etc, said the first thing they did was to sit down in the boat, exhale deeply and express ‘this is exactly what I needed.” Well, we couldn’t agree more to that reality and truth. We believe that every single soul needs to take time to unwind, relax and get and be in the great outdoors. There’s something so calming about floating down or wading in a river, listen to the breeze, gaze upon the horizon and cast to a rising trout. It’s captivating and takes full concentration therefore, in order to be proficient, one must be focused which sure helps cleanse the soul.

Herbert Hoover brilliantly said; “Fishing is the chance to wash one’s soul with pure air. It brings meekness and inspiration, reduces our egoism, soothes our troubles and shames our wickedness. It is discipline in the equality of men and women – for all men and women are equal before fish.”

It’s very important to remember that nature represents truth and what’s existing deeply in ALL of our souls. I hope everyone finds their calmness and relaxing spot then takes time to unwind outdoors consistently, no matter what activity you choose to enjoy. Back in 2001 after the horrible tragedy of 9/11 I took some time to ponder deeIp into my soul why I chose to become a full time fishing guide. After a lot of in depth reflection I came to realize that I found what I was looking for in the great outdoors; was/is very little, if any, human interference. The value and appreciation of the the great outdoors is so deep and profound. I found that peace, thankfully, during my own search and so I thought it would be prudent to share that “JOY” with others. In my humble opinion, the human mind was not designed to be inundated with so much information at the nanosecond pace we all seemingly are exposed to all day every day.

This is why we have developed some incredible fishing options to “get away” from as many other humans as we possibly can, without leaving the planet. We invite you to come explore these amazing places with us and come to find and realize your own peace. We have guided so many injured veterans, special needs people over the years and every single one tells me that while they were out fishing was the first time since were able to truly relax and enjoy the moment. Now that’s POWERFUL!!!
