reflexblue's new green screen film studio is open for business, or should I say 'green wall' film studio.

This will allow us to expand our online video marketing services. Already we have made several infomercials for the likes of Taylor Wimpey, Robert Whyte Ltd, McTears Auctioneers and The Scottish Football museum to name a few. Costs for producing video have dropped dramatically as new technology has become available and we strongly recommend that you talk to us about how we can put your business online.

Sadly through all the celebration we had to say goodbye to our lovely Becky who is off to Spain for the summer. We know she'll have a great time but she'll certainly be missed.

Colin Hits The Big 50!

It's a good day, the sun is out and shining brightly on the silver fox as we celebrate his 50th birthday.

Since the sun is out, to start the celebrations we will be lighting up the BBQ, sizzling some burgers and sausagees and toasting a Happy Birthday to Colin with a glass of bubbly and a slice of cake.

Later on we will be heading round to our local pub, The Avalon, where once again we will be attempting to steal the limelight in our Karaoke competition...Who do you think will have the Avalon-Factor?

We will be sure to take many photos and maybe even some videos so make sure you keep an eye open next week for when we upload them.

Again, a massive Happy Birthday to Colin and we hope you have a fantastic day!

We would like to say a big thank you to Scott McDonald for the basket of treats that he gave us for our 10th birthday. At first we were taken aback by the amount of sunglasses and suncream however all the sunprotection has turned out to be a great help in this glorious weather, particularly for Ricki's scalp.

A Decade of reflexblue

This week marks our tenth birthday and what better cause for celebration. Birthday cake was enjoyed by everyone as we shared stories and laughed at how the company has changed since 2002.

As some of you may know, reflexblue began with a total of three employees and in the past ten years has evolved into a strong team of 13, not unlucky for us. Brian Nicolson remembers the promise made to him at the very beginning by the MD, that their first year of business would be different. He promised that they would be able to take breaks to watch the World Cup however, as Brian recalls, a total of fifteen minutes was all they ever saw of that World Cup. A visual of how busy the company has been from the offset, something we cannot complain about, however much we wanted to see Brazil beat Germany.

As we have grown, of course, so too has technology. Back in the beginning, before Internet, poor Scott had the task of sending the adverts. At that time it took an hour to send a single one, something which is now instant. We would like to send a big thank you to George at Lateral Line, who allowed us to use his technology before we were up-to-date.

Another aspect of reflexblue that has changed in the last decade is where we work. Our first offices were at 3 Fitzroy Place, back when we had one office on a floor above the other. This was always awkward when someone would phone for an employee in the other office, but we couldn’t complain about the lack of exercise the job entailed. We would also like to thank our landlord Douglas Dixon & Son for helping us back then. Several years later we moved into where we are now, The Studio. Being an old recording studio was a great advantage for us as it was an empty shell and over the years we have gone to great efforts to make it our own.

Since 2002 we have come together countless times for birthdays, engagements, weddings and even christenings, marking changes in the lives of all of us here at reflexblue. We’ve had a fantastic ten years and we’re looking forward to the next, we’re sure it will come in no time.

The team at reflexblue have finished producing a new TV campaign, mytextcheck, for CDL. We have developed a creative concept which has brought the brand to life with a range of animated vehicles.

We were very excited in the office this morning as we watched the ads air for the first time on DAVE. Keep an eye out for them on DAVE, ITV4, SKY and UKTV. Check out one of the ads, 'Stolen', below or the mytextcheck post on The Drum.

Wishy's Stag Weekend

After an eventful and successful Stag weekend for Brian, we want to wish both Laura and him all the best and hope that they have a great wedding tomorrow.

All the men of reflex blue started their ventures in Newcastle where Greg’s achievement of playing for Scotland’s under 18’s team against England, along with Brian’s Stag do caused for great celebration (which was definitely had).

Here’s just a few of the things that the guys got up to on their ventures;

Thursday night in Newcastle was a proud moment as Greg played for Scotland's under 18's and so the celebrations began.


Our journey down to Liverpool encountered a little detour to visit Hadrian's wall.

We've arrived! Although not so sure about the 'safe' parking in Liverpool...

After re-opening the M6 the journey home was completed and Brian was returned safe and sound in one piece for the wedding. A great weekend was had by all and the stories and memories will definitely not be forgotten.

The creative messages highlight the value and benefits of the area through statements from prominent local business people communicated via a range of back lit 6 sheet posters in key areas throughout the 3 airports; there is also an eye catching back lit 48 sheet poster demonstrating the county’s first class transport infrastructure featuring the award winning Clackmannanshire Bridge.

The promotion is jointly funded by ClacksFirst, Clackmannanshire Council, Clackmannanshire Business and Imagine Alloa.

After successfully updating all of our Apple computers last week, it was agreed that a celebratory night out was in order for all the Reflexblue team. We headed round to the Avalon, our local haunt, to have a stab at becoming the next potential X-Factor winners! Taking over the stage and hogging the microphone everyone gave it a bash… Lets just say, not all were up for the prize.

Super Saver Saturday

We've just launched a new campaign for Taylor Wimpey called Super Saver Saturday.

Super Saver Saturday is a one day event taking place on 24 March where Taylor Wimpey are massively reducing their prices on a range of Pre-Owned properties across Scotland.

We have created a website and co-ordinated a multi-media campaign advertising the event above and below the line in print and online.

New Langside College Campus is Officially Open!

Two of reflexblue's directors - Brian and Colin - were delighted to be invited to the official opening of the new Langside College campus.

Alex Salmond handled the official duties and toured the new building before spending time talking to many of the students.

We've worked closely with Langside College for over eight years and it was great to see all our work on display throughout the new buildings.

This week saw this well established Glasgow-based architectural practice celebrate their 100th birthday with a party in one of their most prestigious buildings, the Scottish Legal Life Assurance building in Bothwell Street.

To mark this landmark occasion we were commissioned by Wylie Shanks Architects to design and produce the book ‘a centenary retrospective, 1912-2012’ which celebrates and reviews 100 years of the practice’s history.

Interactive Polar Bears to join the Superbowl this year!

The creatives at Coca-Cola must have spent a few late nights working on their new campaign for this year's Superbowl. Set to feature two of the brands polar bear mascots, the whole commercial will react to the on-field action as well as the other adverts.

The animated bears will be showing support for the competing teams - New York Giants and New England Patriots - and will give real-time reactions to everything that happens throughout the game. If the Patriots score a touchdown then you'll see the Patriots bear raise his hand for the touchdown sign, and if a racy advert appears on screen, the bear will cover its cub's eyes.

As well as an ingenious piece of advertising, Coca-Cola are using the campaign to raise money and awareness for the World Wildlife Fund to help protect the Arctic home of the polar bears.
