href="http://koutekreyol.blogspot.com">interested in learning Haitian Creole or Kreyol in order to be able to travel to Haiti to help. According to the organization that Dr. Paul Farmer runs in Haiti, there is a high demand for nurses, specially those who can speak Creole and French. For the most part, all Haitians speak Creole.

A group of New York and California nurses turn to HaitianCreoleMP3 Podcast to start learning Creole. They also bought the 'Sak Pase? N-ap Boule Textbook' to start learning the language.

Haitian Creole is used in Haiti, Miami, Florida, New York, Boston, Canada, France and anywhere else where you can find Haitians, missionaries and workers who lived in Haiti.

Potential Careers for You: Registered Nurses, School Teacher, Computer Engineer, Management Analyst, Physical Therapist etc

Today's abundance of online education options means you're never too old to go back to school, and many online degree programs cater specifically to the busy lives of working s. By working and attending school online, you can prepare for your next job without sacrificing your current income. The following jobs are expected to grow faster than average from 2008 to 2018, and each requires training that can be achieved at any age.

1. Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical therapist assistants help physical therapists rehabilitate patients, including victims and sufferers of debilitating diseases. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of physical therapist assistants is expected to grow 33 percent thru 2018, much faster than the national average. In 2008, these assistants earned an average of $46,140.

Physical therapist assistants must earn an associate's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program. These programs generally last two years and prepare students for state licensing. If you're interested in becoming a physical therapist assistant, career training and online education can help you make the transition.

2. Registered Nurse

Registered nurses help doctors treat, diagnose, and care for patients in hospitals, doctors' offices, and care centers. Nurses make up the largest employment group within health care, and their numbers are expected to grow by another 22 percent from 2008 to 2018. According to the BLS, registered nurses earned an average of $62,450 in 2008.

To prepare for licensing, nurses must earn at least an associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Associate's degree programs take approximately two years to complete, while programs offering a bachelor's degree in nursing take about four years. Online degree programs can help you train for a career in nursing without leaving your current job.

3. Elementary School Teacher

If you have a passion for learning and enjoy working with kids, a career as an elementary school teacher may be a good fit. Elementary school teachers teach multiple subjects to students from kindergarten through sixth grade, emphasizing understanding, responsibility, and consideration. According to the BLS, elementary school teachers earned an average of $49,330 in 2008, and the field is expected to grow by 16 percent from 2008 to 2018.

To teach in public schools, elementary school teachers must earn a bachelor's degree and graduate from a teacher education program. With online classes available, it's never too late to return to school and qualify to become a teacher.

4. Computer Software Engineer

Computer software engineers use principles of computer science and mathematics to design and develop software. From computer games to networking systems, the programs developed by computer software engineers help computers function in our everyday lives. The BLS expects employment of computer software engineers to increase by 34 percent thru 2018, which means plenty of opportunities to enter the field. In 2008, these engineers earned an average of $85,430.

To become a computer software engineer, you need to earn a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related field. Some positions require a master's degree in computer science, and all expect employees to be up-to-date with new technologies and computer systems. Online degree programs in computer science and software engineering can prepare you for a career in this innovative field, regardless of your age or schedule.

5. Management Analyst

Management analysts (also called management consultants) are business experts that help companies solve problems to remain competitive. Management analysts must think strategically and come up with innovative, effective solutions for their clients. In 2008, management analysts earned an average of $73,570, and the BLS expects their employment to increase by 24 percent in the next decade.

Competition for management analyst positions is intense, and often a master's of business administration (MBA) degree is required. Online business degrees are increasingly common, so it's possible to enhance your industry knowledge with a formal degree.

Donate to Send a Nurse to Haiti: American Nurses United Want to Help Haitians

</object

Practicing Nurse Kim Gives Advice on nursing

RNs who hold an Associates degree are staffed at hospitals, homehealth, hospice, clinics, doctors office dialysis centers, and many other places. To be fair, only a few CSU universities were offering doctorate in nursing. If there are more teachers with a doctorate, more nursing classes can be offered. And registered nurses can further their studies.

For example, Fresno State is planning on adding a doctorate to prepare future nursing educators to meet the needs for nursing classes.

Valley students can not wait for this new development. According to sources close to the university, the program may be launched in 2011.

In the meantime, our nursing needs are being met by traveling nurses and immigrant nurses. Go to any of our national hospitals, you are sure to find nurses from many foreign countries. Canadian nurses have been crossing over for a long time. You are sure to find many Caribbean, South and Central American nurses, African and Asian (philipino) nurses. Many of these foreign nurses come from many English-speaking countries. They have been doing a great job. Without them, we do not know where we would be. Even with the current focus on training local talent, the needs for foreign nurses will continue strongly for a long time.

It is time to train our local youth to get some of these jobs.

Hot Health Careers Most People Know Nothing About:

While hospitals may not be hiring during this economic downturn, there are some hot jobs that will provide you security in the healthcare industry. Among the most appealing health care careers, you can find these employees who enjoy their jobs and want to keep them.

The California Wellness Foundation funded a survey to see whether health care offers job security, family-sustaining wages and professional satisfaction. Jobs such as medical assistants and pharmacy and emergency-medicine technicians offer this type of security. They are known as allied health profesions in the health care industry.

All you need to enter most of these jobs is a two-year degree or a licensing program. Others may require more years of study.

Doctors Trained to Prescribe Drugs, but not Exercise

Doctors Trained to Prescribe Drugs, but not Exercise

Various studies show that most western doctors are not trained or do not the incentives to prescribe exercise to their patients. Yet, they should regularly prescribe it as a way to lower blood pressure and prevent heart disease and diabetes, according to the American Heart Association on Monday June 23, 2003. Exercise often works well as drugs, yet doctors fail to advise patients to get off their sofas and walk, cycle or run, the group said, citing data from 44 different studies.

The American Heart Association and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among other groups, recommend 30 minutes or more of the moderate exercise such as brisk walking on most or all days of the week. One problem is that doctors are not trained in preventing disease, but only in treating it, said the director of preventive cardiology and cardiovascular research at Hartford Hospital in connecticut, who led the study leading to this report. "That is not the whole story here because a lot of stuff we are talking about here is not about prevention -it is about sick patients and making people feel better.

Doctors do not urge exercise because they are not reimbursed by insurers for exercise training. And drug companies spend millions to promote medicines and train doctors in their use, but no one does the same thing for exercise." Physicians can help patients improve cholesterol levels and blood pressure just by prescribing an exercise regimen.

Beat The Hard Economic Times with Job Security Found in Pharmacy School and Nursing...

Beat The Hard Economic Times with Job Security Found in Pharmacy School and Nursing...

There is no doubt that healthcare-related jobs offer job security. That is what many doctors, physicians, nurses an pharmacists have known over the years. Well, parents have known it too. They have encouraged their sons and daughters to go into such professions as law school and med school.

All over the country, pharmacists remain in short supply. And rural areas suffer the most. If you put in the time, if you stuck it out at Pharmacy school, the pay-off will be great for you and your family. Who can refuse the high signing bonuses that range in the $30,000 and more?

There is a strong competition between retail outlets and health-care facilities across the nation. It has been shown that to lure pharmacists, retailers are dangling incentives of all kinds. While nursing school offers stability, pharmacy schools offer great pay, stability and lots of perks such as offers of cars, signing bonuses, flexible work schedule etc.

It has been predicted that the shortage of pharmacists will continue for a long time due the aging baby boomer population that tends to live longer and thus requires more care and medication.

Retail stores such as Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS want as many pharmacists as they can find. Kaiser Permanente and many local hospitals such as the Children's hospital network are trying hard to retain their workers and pharmacists.

Entering pharmacy schools will remain the best decision of your life.

Men in Nurses: Nurses Now: What's Great about Nursing

What is Great About a Nursing Career?
Nursing Shortage – job opportunity and security
More nurses are needed outside of the hospital setting.
The current nursing workforce is aging. In September and October — one-third of the application period for the spring semester — the number of applicants who made a community college their first choice was already more than 20 percent greater than all of last year. In some fields, like health services, the growth has been even more rapid, as much as 40 percent on some campuses.

Knowing that California is facing a budget issue, interested parties are asking where they will find money to continue to offer these classes.

Parents and students are scared by the bad economic times. “How do you deal with a declining revenue base and more and more students wanting to come?” They are asking. “It is a difficult balance and we worry about it every day.”

Read more at http://poetrybusiness.blogspot.com

http://onenationdonation.blogspot.com

Top Recession-proof Professions for a Bad Economy

Students are enrolling in huge numbers at local community colleges from California to New York. As the economy goes sour, more and more people want to find stability in professions such as teaching, nursing and security. So far, colleges have added nursing courses to accommodate the onslaught and high demand.

Students can not go wrong in health care. There are shortages of health professionals all over the country.

It's no surprise that one of the most stable industries - even when the economy is in poor shape - is health care. No matter what the state of the country, there will always be people in need of quality health care services.
Train to coordinate and plan the delivery of health care services with a health services administration or health care administration degree.
