On April 1, 2012, AU will be increasing the Undergraduate Withdrawal Processing fee and the General Application Fee to better reflect the actual costs associated with the processing of these requests.

The Undergraduate Withdrawal Processing will be increased to $150. This fee includes the initial processing of the course request and the subsequent costs of processing the withdrawal and refund. Please note that this fee only applies to student requests for withdrawal that are received within the published deadlines for receiving a refund for an undergraduate course. Additional processing fees are not assessed to students who are withdrawing from an undergraduate course after the refund deadline and before their course contract end date. This fee will be applied to all courses with an April 1, 2012 start date or later.

Our Undergraduate General Application Fee will be increased to $115. This is a one time fee that students pay to AU to have their application to AU processed and their student record maintained. It also includes transcripts, sent via Canada Post from AU to the student or third party. This increase will only apply to Undergraduate General Applications that are received on or after April 1, 2012. This fee does not apply to you if you have already submitted an Undergraduate General Application and have paid the fee.

New Services - Priority Transcripts

Students, graduates, alumni and former students have had the option of requesting transcripts for free over the past 3 years when they are sent via Canada Post. We have also provided the option of having a transcript sent by courier with the payment of the appropriate courier fee. AU is pleased to introduce a Priority Transcript service, which can be requested through our online transcript request system. This service will be available on April 1, 2012.

What is a Priority Transcript?

Athabasca University recognizes that there are times when you may need a transcript sent more quickly than the courier option already provided and that your timeline for getting an official transcript sent to either yourself or a third party is urgent. A Priority Transcript is a transcript that is sent by fax to a fax number that you specify when making your request. As always, the official transcript will also be sent to the specified recipient via Canada Post (or by courier with payment of the appropriate fees).

Is there a fee for a Priority Transcript?

Yes. The fee for this service is $50.00.

How does the Priority Transcript Service Work?

Step 1 - Log into the MyAU Student Portal and in the Student Record section, select Transcript Request.

Step 2 - Preview your transcript to ensure that all of the grades that you need sent are reflected on your transcript.

Step 3 - Select the Priority Transcript button and enter the fax number to where you want the fax sent. If you want the fax sent to the attention of a specific individual, you may enter the name of the individual who is to receive the fax.

(Note: To have your transcript couriered in addition to being faxed, select the Courier and Fax button. )

Step 4 - Click Submit.

Step 5 - Enter a valid credit card number to pay the fee. If you have also selected the transcript to be sent by courier, you will be prompted to pay the appropriate fee for the region you are having the transcript sent to in addition to the priority transcript fee.
