After spending nearly a decade sitting quietly in my drafts folder, this post is finally seeing the light of day. Better late than never, right? 😊

Back in November 2016, after a year of planning and anticipation, we finally embarked on our first international adventure as a married couple—to Singapore and Malaysia!

I chose Singapore because it's incredibly tourist-friendly and conveniently just a 4–5-hour direct flight from Davao City. Since Legoland Malaysia is only a short trip away, it felt like the perfect opportunity to visit both countries in one unforgettable vacation.

At that point, we had been married for six years. We were also working in different places, so spending several days traveling together was more than just a holiday—it was a chance to reconnect and see how we'd handle being together 24/7 after so much time apart.

As it turned out, the trip gave us plenty of memories, lots of laughs, and stories that have waited far too long to be shared. So, here's to finally hitting "Publish" and reliving an adventure that's been ten years in the making!

This trip will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was our very first international adventure together, and every moment—from the exciting discoveries to the little awkward moments—made it even more memorable. Thankfully, we made it through the trip without a single misunderstanding and simply enjoyed every step of the journey.

This post is also a little appreciation note to my husband. Thank you for being so supportive, caring, and protective throughout the trip. Traveling together for the first time taught us a lot, gave us plenty of reasons to laugh, and created memories we'll treasure forever.

Here's to many more adventures, passport stamps, and unforgettable moments together. Cheers to more travel goals for us! 💕✈️

Barugkot & Lampaki, Kimarayag, Pigcawayan, Cotabato

Isn’t it magnificent? A view from Barugkot Barangay Kimarayag, Pigcawayan, Cotabato. A beautiful scenery from my very own hometown Pigcawayan. We were able to discover this place because my husband’s relatives owned some property here.

A view of the Liguasan Marsh, surrounding towns, Pigcawayan, Libungan and Cotabato City’s lights could be seen during nighttime.

Here is Mt. Akir-Akir, a well known hiking destination here, the highest peak in North Cotabato. This is the view from Lampaki, Brgy. Kimarayag, Pigcawayan, Cotabato.

Who would have thought there would be a very beautiful sunset here at Barugkot?

Philippine Eagle Foundation

Davao City: Philippine Eagle Foundation

Philippine Eagle Foundation is an NGO that strives to protect and preserve the now endangered specie - the Philippine eagle. It is open to the public with an entrance fee of 100 pesos for adult and 50 for youth. It is located in Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City.

Before entering the Philippine Eagle Foundation, you need to pass by this park for an entrance fee of P5 pesos.

Inside the Philippine Eagle Foundation, this century old tree could be seen.

Aside from the Eagles, they also have other animals like crocodile, deers and monkeys.

These are some of the birds that could be seen but of course the main attraction are the big Philippine Eagles.

Luckily when I visited the Philippine Eagle Foundation, one of the employee let one of the eagles go out from the cage and allow us to take a picture of it. What made this visit memorable for me is that I was amazed on how big a real Philippine Eagle was and it was a realization for me that there is this NGO with employees that devoted their time and effort for the protection of this amazing bird and that there are still ignorant people who doesn't know of the existence of the bird and would shot them. I hope the killings of the Philippine Eagle would now stop since only few are left.

More Fun in the Philippines

In my recent travel, I was able to capture along the way an amazing mode of transportation. It was a single motorcycle with seven passengers on it and there are still space for more passengers. We are able to passby this along Cagayan de Oro - Butuan Road. I was lucky enough to capture this while both our vehicles are moving. There are really a lot of things that will surprise you along the way while traveling the islands of Philippines. It is really more fun in the Philippines.

Sultan Kudarat: Kalamansig

Kalamansig is a town from the southern part of the Philippines. It was already far but a beautiful white beach was hidden there. Our travel to Kalamansig was materialize when our church mates who were fond of motorbikes invited us to a road trip to Kalamansig.

It was really an enjoyable motorbike ride with the smooth and curve road in going there. Though it was a bit tiresome but this view awaits us there.

Since some parts of the beach is private property, you must ask permission to the owners first but others goes there directly by boats.

I was able to see there a huge Acacia tree and I could not help myself taking a photo of it.

Well that's our ride and though we were able to encounter minor accidents, we still be able to enjoy the place, relax and had an awesome road trip.

Palawan: Baker's Hill

It's free. Everyone is welcome in Baker's Hill Palawan. It is visited often by tourists of Palawan due to its overlooking view of Puerto Princesesa City and its beautiful houses in here with landscapes, garden, flowers,mini park, and animated statues. It is very accessible from the city wherein it is only a tricycle ride.

Look who enjoyed this place the most, no other than my husband's nephew. He wants to have a picture with some of the statues in there.

Another nephew and niece were added to the picture and this time with the animal statues.

Aside from their statues, there is also this noticeable garden with beautiful landscapes.

Below is also a garden landscape with smiling masks of Palawan.

Baker's Hill also created certain spots where you could have your photoshoot with the place's name on it.

Baker's hill brought me to a different place like in a foreign country where I had never been before. It's restaurant, bar, houses, garden, park and of course it's bakery brought a memorable experience. Before leaving this place don't forget to drop by in their bakery and try their tasty pastries. It is so affordable and tasty that we even brought back home some of their pastries as our pasalubong. Until the next visit Baker's Hill Palawan.

Palwan: Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center

This is Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center or also called Palawan Crocodile and Nature Park. It is located in Palawan City that if you would be staying within the city, it is very much accessible. You would only have to ride a tricycle, which is the number one means of transportation in Palawan City, and you would be able to reach this place.

Yup,that's me, facing my fear and holding a baby crocodile. We have this session while waiting for our time to enter the crocodile facility and the park. Well this picture taking session is not free, this is worth twenty pesos and if you want to purchase a copy of the picture it is worth around 150-200 pesos.

This is what welcomes you inside the facility where a short orientation is to be given by the staff. This crocodile is used to be the largest crocodile captured in the Philippines, not anymore because of the captivity of Lolong.

These are fresh water crocodiles around four to six years old.

These are bigger crocodiles outside the facility but in the cages. There is a pathway above their cages that visitors could pass through that pathway and could have a chance to feed them as well.

Inside the park, aside from crocodiles there are also different species of birds.

This is a stopover inside the park where you could a picture taking with this bird or the Palawan bearcat below. I never pass the chance to have a picture with this very cute creature, a Palawan bearcat. This was indeed an unforgettable travel experience.

Traveling is fun and arriving in different tourist spots is an achievement as a traveler. Places, people, culture and food are some of the things a traveler look forward to in every places visited but each traveler should not forget also the smell in each place. There are times that some smell in each places that are new to us and may not be pleasing to our nose. It may be from surroundings, food, body odor, flowers or even from e cigaret. So if you travel to a new place, don't forget to bring menthol candies, inhaler or oil to pacify one's self from displeasing smell.

Palawan: Underground River

This was a dream travel for me. I never imagined that I would be able to visit the famous Puerto Princesa Underground River which is now belong to the new 7 wonders of nature. Since my companions and I were already in Palawan, we never missed the opportunity to visit this famous tourist spot.

Along the way, I could not refrain myself from not taking a photo of this. This is a solar lamp post which means that the light produced by it is powered by solar energy which comes from the light of the sun. According to our travel guide, this was designed by a German engineer. It amazes me to see a lamp post without long electricity wires and very environmental friendly.

Back to my travel to the famous Underground River, so after more or less four hours of travel from El Nido, Palawan we reached our destination. After listing our names and paying for the boat we are now ready to go. During our visit, there was an incoming storm that our short boat ride was a bit rough because of the big waves and thank God that we were able to reached this very beautiful cove.

So this it. We already reached Puerto Princesa Underground River. This is one of the landmarks in there.

Along the way, there are these park facts and figures along with park rules.

During our visit, there had been a lot of the tourists as well that we have to wait for an hour for the availability of the boat. No worries because that is already the entrance of the cave.

At last, the boat ride to the famous Puerto Princesa Underground River begins. We were so amazed and entertained by the beautiful stalactites,stalagmite and rock formations, the high ceilings, a lot of vats and the facts about it. Truly God's creation is beyond comparison.

The picture above is the only one which is presentable from all the photos I've taken inside the cave. I find difficulty in capturing good photos inside the cave because it is dark and I was seated in the front seat that I was tasked to hold the searchlight. At least I have this good photo of what they called the "Titanic" rock formation.

Of course, a picture of myself with the entrance to the famous Puerto Princesa Underground River was never forgotten. This was a dream come true.

*** The ticket does not include the payment for the boat so reseve a money for it.
*** According to the tourist guide, if you were from Puerto Princesa City the travel time for the land trip from the city to the Puerto Princesa Underground River is more or less two hours.

Puerto Princesa: Ugong Rock

Ugong Rock Adventures is located at Brgy. Tagabiniet, Puerto Princesa City. If you are on your way to the famous Underground River, you could pass by to this place. Caving, splunking and zipline adventure are the activities offered here.

This is one of the passages inside the cave. Ugong Rock was named after a musical instrument "ugong". There are some rocks inside the cave that if you knock on it, it would create an ugong-like sound.

One of the many features inside the cave are these stalactites and stalagmites formations. This is a stalactite that looks like a chandelier but as time passes by it already reached the ground.

If you would be in Ugong Rock Adventures, finish the activity by enjoying their zipline adventure. So far this is the fastest zipline I had experienced with a travel time of 21 seconds.

As always do not forget to take pictures.

As a whole I enjoyed the activities here. In terms of expenses, it costs me less than 500 pesos for the caving, splunking and for the zipline. For this souvenir picture, it costs me 150 pesos for a printed copy of it.

Palawan: Taytay

This is Taytay in Palawan. A place with a lot of historical sites. In this place you will you be able to find old church, old buildings and old port.

This is one of the old buildings which is now used as a commercial buiding. This was built during the Spanish time.

Another old building is this church. It is so amazing to see buildings that was built hundred years ago which were still used up to this time.

While strolling around I can't help myself not to capture a picture of the community.

A landmark in the entrance of the port stating that Port St. Isabel was first built using wood in 1667 as a garrison for the Spanish troop of peace. It was built through the effort of Gov. Fernando Manuel de Bustillo. It was rebuilt using stone with four defense sides in honor of St.Toribio, San Miguel, San Juan at St. Isabel in the first quarter of the 18th century. The reconstruction was administered by Don fernando Velez de Arce and was finished at the middle of the century. This port serves as a strong fortress in overseeing mercantile marine vehicles and in raiding sea pirates.

These were some of the views inside and outside the port. At the entrance there a lot of old cannons that were displayed. At the top of the entrance door, the sculpture of the images of the saints were present. The port is open for visitors from 8AM to 5PM.

Palawan:El Nido

El Nido, Palawan had always been a part of my list in the places I wanted to visit. It has been a dream vacation that met my expectation. I went their with my husband, his brother's family and the family of our godparents. Look what greeted me when I woke early in the morning. A giant rock or limestone formation.

From Puerto Princesa City, El Nido could be reached after seven hours of land trip in a for-hire van. Another way is through public bus like this one below which has only one trip in a day and maybe it would take you ten hours to reach El Nido from Puerto Princesa City. As what mostly tourists did, we prefer to hire a van as our mode of transportation in going to El Nido.

Upon reaching El Nido, we stroll in their public market to look for food to cook. We had been able to find there crabs, lobsters, shells and a lot of fish.

After filling up our stomach, we ready ourselves for an island hopping. The first stop is Pinagbuyutan Island. It is now a private island but visitors are still allowed in here. I was amazed in this island by its powdery sand, clear water and the panoramic view of other island as well.

This is the Helicopter Island named after its shape. This island is very visible in our whole tour but we did not been able stop by on this island.

This is Cadugnon Cave. We passed through a small opening in the rocks to be able to get inside in this cathedral like cave. There was a small opening at the top of the cave that made the view inside visible and was so wonderful to look at.

This is my favorite island on the whole tour, the Snake Island. Do not be afraid for in this island no snake could be seen. It was named Snake Island because of its shoreline that connects two island. At the topmost part of the island there is a hut there wherein all neighboring islands could be seen. This is also where we had our lunch.

For me this the most adventurous part of the tour. Eventhough I am not a swimmer, I tried snorkeling in here. This is Small Lagoon. From this point, we have to swim to be able to reach the lagoon. On the way to the lagoon there is this very aggressive specie of small fish wherein if ever you been able to reach their territory they will bite you. Don't worry they don't hurt that much. The lagoon was so beautiful that we stayed there for almost an hour.

Well, that is the chubby me in my snorkeling gear having my first and very memorable snorkeling experience. I could not have enough of El Nido. There are still a lot of islands, caves, coves, lagoons and places to be visited at El Nido. Hope I could visit it again. Till next time El Nido!.

IGACOS: Pearl Farm Beach Resort

Welcome to Pearl Farm Beach Resort. It is located in Island Garden City of Samal or IGACOS. Samal Island is the big island in front of Davao City. Pearl Farm is a famous tourist destinations here in Davao. I was only able to go to this place because this is where the team building of the company has been held.

Above is the Parola Bar. It is the reception area of the beach where the boat would also dock. We were greeted here with the accommodating staff of Pearl Farm. They had given us fresh juice to drink while an orientation had been given about the resort.

Maranao Restaurant of Pearl Farm served delicious meals. In our day tour package, it is already inclusive of eat-all-you can lunch that we were really full when we get out from this establishment.

Below is only one of the many maps that you will find along the way while strolling Pearl Farm. I am sure you will not get lost with this very informative maps.

This is the infinity pool of Pearl Farm. If you do not like swimming in the pools the beach is also very conducive for swimming with its white sand and clear water.

Malipano island is a nearby island which is also owned by Pearl Farm. This is where their sporty equipment and vessels are located for more fun activities.

I want to try riding on this boat but I was not able to do so. This is what they call a taxi boat. Same as a regular taxi on land, this would take you to any accessible locations you want to go.

If you have time and money, visit Pearl Farm. A whole day tour is worth 1,950 pesos or 2,500 pesos during holidays and it is already inclusive of a eat-all-you-can buffet lunch. If you are already in here don't forget to take some pictures as a remembrance.

North Cotabato: Asik-Asik Falls

At long last, I was able to visit Asik asik falls after months of longing to visit it. Asik asik falls is near our place and it is specifically located at Brgy. Dulao, Alamada, North Cotabato. It was a newly discovered tourist attraction and was only brought to my attention on the month of May.

To be able to reach this place, the nearest airport is Awang Airport of Cotabato City which is one hour and forty-five minute flight from Manila. From Cotabato City to this place would take two hours ride. If you want to travel by land, Libungan to Davao would take three to six hours ride and from Libungan to Brgy. Dulao would take thirty minutes to reach this place. In order to reach the vicinity of the falls you must walk these steep slope which is around five hundred cemented steps.

I know that whatever you will encounter while walking on the steps above, I am sure it is all worth it with the amazing beauty of Asik Asik falls that awaits you. Pictures below are some of the glimpse of it.

Holiday Planning

It is better that things had been planned ahead of time in order for things to run smoothly. Yesterday, we are asked in the office of our planned absences in the coming months. I had a planned vacation on the coming months and I informed my boss about it. Gladly, she had no questions or disagreement about it. I am really excited for that flight. My brother-in-law booked that discounted flight for us. It is only here in the Philippines but the place is so popular for its beautiful nature views. Its underground river was already included in the new seven wonders of the world. I hope our plan will run smoothly and hope in the future we could also avail Cheap holidays to Turkey, Cyprus, Singapore, Greece and other beautiful destination around the world.

Lake Agco is located at the foot of Mt. Apo. I knew everyone who climbed Mt. Apo knew this place. It has been the camp site and stop over place of climbers of Mt. Apo. It was my second time to visit this place. On my latest visit, I went here with my husband's family. Below is the list of the fees and rates of their amenities. Photo courtesy of my bubbly niece. :)

Lake Agco is at the heart of a rainforest and since Mt. Apo is the tallest mountain in the Philippines, Lake Agco is also in a higher ground. The weather here is always gloomy and most often there are fogs. The hotsprings of Lake Agco is really conducive for its weather. Below is the view from the entrance of Lake Agco.

Though it is cold out there, there are still a lot of communities here. They already get used to the weather and to the foggy surroundings.

Mt. Apo is a dormant volcano but it still emits hot steam.The photo below had been the source of hot steam for the steam bathhouse and the Jacuzzi.

Kidapawan, North Cotabato: Tawsuvan Eco-Resort

Tawsuvan Eco-Resort is an eco-resort at the foot of Mt. Apo.It has a beautiful falls in a rain forest. This has also been a camping ground for the climbers of Mt. Apo and for other tourists. It was an adopted place by the University of Southern Mindanao wherein they beautify and improved the place as well as construct some amenities to it. Below is the beautiful falls of Tawsuvan Eco-resort.

Since Tawsuvan is at the foot of Mt. Apo, it is on a higher ground with a cooler temperature. That is why a lot of campers are in here during summer and stays here for a couple of days. As an observation, they brought along their tents, their air bed, some cooking wares and a lot of food. Of course, they did not forget to bring along thick clothes, jackets, socks and blankets to fight the cold.

If you want to go at the top of the falls, you could do so but be sure that you are physically fit because you would be catching your breath while climbing. When I did it, I think I had three pauses while climbing just to catch my breath but it is very dangerous to do so because it is very steep that you must immediately continue climbing and be very careful not to slip. So here is the view of the falls at the top.

Eventhough the water is so cold, we did not slip the opportunity to swim at the falls. We will not put to waste our discounted entrance fee of 25 pesos per head by not swimming around.lol.Well, at first it is really cold but as you stay longer your body temperature will adjust to it wherein you will surely enjoy swimming even if the water is cold.

In every place I had been to, I always took a lot of pictures as a remembrance. This has been my favorite picture of all the pictures I took in Tawsuvan. I really swim near the falls just to have this picture and thanks to my supportive husband who took this picture.

The trip to Tawsuvan had been a memorable one. It has also been an enjoyable family summer getaway. The next time I would go here, I would like to stay longer and enjoy the place. Hope you could visit this place too. Have fun and enjoy!

Kathleen's Place: Cannibad, Samal

Our last stopover in our field trip with the kindergarten students was at Kathleen's place in Cannibad, Samal. Cannibad which is famous for being a secret paradise in Samal has this modern resort known as "Kathleen's Place". It was owned by a retired German soldier who was married to a Filipina from our hometown. He had been very accommodating to us and gave us discounts. The standard entrance fee in Kathleen's Place is P50 per person, tent rental with beddings is P350 and this cottage is P2,000 per night.

I like Cannibad for having a very solemn beach. It is not crowded and the beach is very clean and well preserve. Even at night, the place is so peaceful wherein there are no noisy parties, karaoke noise and noise of alcohol drinkers. It is just like being in a remote island.

The only common feedback of the people who went here is that the way from the road to the beach is too high. It is so steep that in ascending back to the road would intake a lot of minute rest to catch your breath and rest your knees for a while. Below is the view from the house of the resort's owner.

I like the design of the house of the resort's owner that I really took the chance to have a photo with it. It brought modernization in that very remote place. As a remembrance, I had a photo with it. This will remind me that I had been to Kathleen's Place in Cannibad, Samal. Hope you could visit this place as well and enjoy the beach the same way as I do.

Crocodile Park: Davao City

As part of the field trip I had with the kindergarten students, our third destination is Crocodile Park. It is located in the Diversion Road, Davao City. The regular entrance fee is P350 pesos but since we are so many we paid only P100 per person.

Not only live crocodiles from young to adult could be seen here but an exhibit of their skeletons is being displayed as well. I think the skeleton of Pangil would still be bigger than this.

This is Pangil, 200 million years survivor, as what it was described is the main attraction of the park. It was the biggest crocodile you could see at the park wherein it is the only crocodile on its cage and situated near the entrance of the park. During my visit, I really spend a lot of time looking at Pangil. Since it was the day of cleaning its cage, I was amazed by the courage shown by the cleaners who went inside the cage while Pangil is watching them. It was thrilling to watch as well as heart pounding eveytime Pangil turns its head towards the cleaners.
Not only crocodiles could be seen here but also other rare animals.

These are only some of the different animals present in Crocodile Park. Being in here is a very worthwhile experience. If you would be brave enough you could also get a chance to hold a snake, take a pose with it and have your photo shot with their official photographer for as low as P40 pesos as their souvenir. Since I don't want to hold a snake and I didn't know that they have an official photographer, I have this picture below as a souvenir taken by my very own camera.

Sports Game

Aside from beaches, luxury hotels and entertainment establishments, watching sports game is also relaxing and full of fun. It may be football, basketball, tennis and soccer games, it will surely caught your attention and you would probably cheer for your chosen team or player. Die-hard fans even travel to different places just to support their chosen player. Butterfly House: Davao City

In my last post, I had been in a field trip with the little kindergarten students and our second destination had been Butterfly House. It is located in Diversion Road, Davao City. It is near to the famous Crocodile Park which had been our next destination. The entrance fee here is only P30 but I am not sure if this is a discounted fee, because we are too many, or a regular fee. Since there is no regular route for public transportation that would pass into this place, you must take a taxi to go in here. It may cost you around 100-200 pesos.

It was my first time to be in a Butterfly House and the experience was so wonderful. When I was a child I would assume that butterflies are fairies and being in a Butterfly House seemed I was taken to Fairyland. There had been a lot of different species of butterflies and they were so beautiful to look at.

Aside from being in the flowers, butterflies would sometimes come near you and would take a rest on your hand or on your body. They are so tamed to humans that without a doubt you could have a perfect shot of it.

Inside the Butterfly House, there is a pond and a small man-made falls. The pond was full of fishes. These are fishes that had different colors from white, orange, red to black. They are so entertaiting to look at.

There are so many frames of butterflies inside the Butterfly House. Before you could roam around inside the house, they would give you a brief preview on how butterflies are breed and what are the different stages it passes through before it would become a beautiful butterfly.

Before you leave the Butterfly House, don't forget to take a lot of pictures. Look for these butterfly statue and take a pose here. It would be a perfect remembrance that you had been in here.

Well, visiting the Butterfly House is an unforgettable experience and very much worth it. If ever I would have kids, I would really take them to this house and let them have this wonderful experience only this Butterfly House could give.

Gap Farming Resort

When I was young, Gap Farm is my most unforgettable place here in Davao. My mother brought me here when I was a kid and I couldn't forget all the beautiful spots in here. Few weeks ago, my brother-in-law who has a kindergarten school brought their students here for their field trip. My husband and I joined them and assist them as well. Here are some of the pictures we have taken.

Upon entering Gap Farm, you would be welcome by these huge statue of a farmer riding his carabao. Funny thing, the carabao is also urinating. Don't get wet by it.

From the logo itself, Gap Farm existed since 1973.

Davao: Land of Promise

I had a great time at Gap Farming Resort. It is very much accessible with its location at Diversion Road, Maa, Davao City. The entrance fee is only P25 and if you are from the city, it would only cost you less than two hundred pesos if you would ride on a taxi from the city to Gap Farm. Though there are already a lot of tourist destinations here in Davao City, I will still recommend Gap Farm to be visited especially to children. Aside from enjoying the beautiful spots, you get to learn as well. Enjoy!!

Effective Persuasion

Public Speaking is not my forte that I really admired people who could take up the stage and say what they want in a large crowd. Sales people are very good at it that in fact even if the product is not that good, they could still sell it with their effective persuasion through speaking. It is amazing how they could persuade some clients to buy their product in one transaction only. I consider that skill as a gift. For me, it would take a lot of nerves for me to do that thing. Public Speaking for me is a struggle to fight my nervousness, tremble of the body and lost of voice. That is why I admire people who could do it.

In a travel expo in one of the malls here in Davao, I was amazed by how the organizers and the host facilitate the event. Different people came up to the stage to promote the travel agency, airlines, hotels, resorts and other agencies of which they represent. They are so good at entertaining the crowd. They have given different freebies and gift checks. The hosts of the show caught the interest of the audience and was able to convey the promos, packages and discounts available in the different agencies featured. They were so versatile, fluent and persuasive in communicating to their audience. In return, they have a supportive, jolly, and accommodating crowd.

Capability to speak in a large crowd of the things you want to say is really a talent, but it could be learned. Thinking of it, if others can do it why can't I. To be a public speaker entails proper training, constant practice and determination to master these craft. Come to think of it, if other ordinary people can do it well, what would hinder us to achieve it as well.
