Happy Fall Simply Adorned Charm Inserts

I love fall and this past weekend with temps in the 70;’s and a cool I could begin to see that fall is close -so very close – goodbye hot humid days!. The changing leaves, the warmth of great sweaters, hoodies and crisp air. Spring and Fall are my favorites – one is all about change and one is all about growth. Kind of a symbolic of life – growth and change!.

ROADKILL Pudding – More Redneck Fun

So our family is a little sick and crazy. Here was our contribution to the No lack of calories food table.

Recipe -
    *Start with Dirt Pudding - Chocolate pudding, cool whip, crushed oreos
   *Mix some jelly eyeballs, brown candy corn, tootsie midgets and bone shaped candies (all from Target) into the pudding/cool whip mixture so that there are ‘surprises”when eating.
   *Save a few eyes to stick out of the top layer
*Serve

Some of you know I am not a cook so this is my kind of cooking – quick easy but tasty!!!

Redneck Welcome

This is the weekend of our families annual Redneck party. It has to be seen to be imagined. Watch for pictures later of my Roadkill Pudding Dessert. I always make a “hostess” gift for Darla – Doug’s Cousin’s wife. Their beautiful farm in Glen rock is the site of this craziness. This year I created a Welcome wreath for her using real shotgun shells! It’s a sophisticated gift however because it’s spelled right! I am really excited since this year we are going down a day early to help set up, enjoy the 3am Pig turning party that we didn’t realized happened when they get up at 3am to turn the pig they roast for the party.

Off to find something acceptable to wear. Have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend. I love this song from Alabama – 40hour weekend. Great one to remember those who Built this country. Bless the Laborers as we celebrate this weekend.

TAKE 3 Tuesday – Waffle Paper – New from Stampin’ UP!

This new embellishment is described like this in the holiday mini (you can order beginning tomorrow)… “Waffle textured paper ideal for adding dimension to your projects. Super thin, but thick enough to mold and shape. Great for making ruffled accents. “ There are 2 assortments available Gold/Silver and Early Espresso/Basic Black – each roll in the pack is 8″ wide and 5 yards! WOW..

While they suggest “ruffles” go beyond ruffles. I used the waffle paper here to create unique background papers, flower stems and even embossed it with a texture impressions folder.

Ohhhhhh the “waffle-bilities”…

Waffle Scrapbook Page - On this page I adhered the waffle paper to a piece of cardstock (great to cover those scraps because it doesn’t matter what color is underneath) and I created stems for my flowers with waffle paper. My Daugther the FYI

Both my kids are studying at small midwest schools. Kristin is studying at Friends University in Wichita, KS – one of only 2 schools in the nation to have a BS degree specifically in Zoo Science. She is double majoring in Zoo Science and Field Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In addition she has been blessed to be on scholarship for French Horn performance all 4 years of college. Just like her brother she has been mentoring freshman. This will be Kristin’s 3rd year acting as an FYI - First year intern. For parents looking at college – I encourage you to ask what programs are in place to support freshman – get them up and out of their beds, get them up and engaged, get them supported academically.

I love how easy MDS pages can come together with imported (copy and pasted details)l This pictures, the school logo and the the journaling are all from the FRIENDS university webpage. Had I done this traditionally it would have meant a ton of extra printing or typing.
