You all really have enriched my life. I started RBW 2 and a half years ago to have a place to vent about the craziness that it takes to be a driven, strong, black female in NYC trying to find my purpose in life. That encompasses being neurotic, being inspirational, looking for love, making mistakes, and of course partying to keep you sane through out the entire ordeal. This blog has been a public diary and thank you for reading and helping me figure things out in my life. The blog has brought a lot of good and I've met some amazing people through it. I have life long friends because of this blog... but everything must come to an end at some point.

As I'm sure you've noticed I haven't spent as much time on RBW in the past couple months because I've been working on branding. I'm really going to take this whole "Eb the Celeb" thing to the next level and although I will always and forever be the Renaissance Black Woman, I have to pursue the possibility of something erupting in that regard.

So on December 31st I will be shutting down this blog forever and launching www.ebtheceleb.com on January 1st to start the new year off right.

I want to send a big thank you to everyone who has already been supporting the movement. Those that have become a fan of me on facebook, those that have subscribed to Eb-TV on youtube, and especially those that follow me on twitter because you bring so much energy to Eb on the daily.

Don't worry though, although in a different place, the Renaissance Black Woman will never die. The new blog will be what this is, combined with my music blog Jonesin'. So not only will you still get the thoughts to ponder, and inspirational spontaneity of everything that is Eb, as well as the instability that is my love life, but you'll be able to get my take on the latest and greatest music out all in the same spot. Eb the Celeb [dot] com will also unveil some new features that I'm sure you all will enjoy. So thanks for being apart of this journey and I hope you're ready for what's to come.

www.sistasports.com will stay intact and still bring the best in sports from a female perspective so definitely continue to check that out.

Again thank you for all your love and support the past couple years and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

I remember we all dressed up and wore crazy things inside the house but when you were going out with my mom she made sure you weren't looking a mess. Vaseline on the face, clothes matching, hair done, etc.

We all know in many other cultures children are allowed to run free outside the house on the regular.
Here we have
Exhibit A. The latino girl

She is adorable in her ballroom dress. Now we can't see her feet though. Want to know why? Because you know she has sneakers on... mmm hmmm.

Exhibit B. The white girl

Even though she's rocking it kinda fly...white kids are always dressed in some rainbow colors. This chick in the center with the hearts and the stripes is blinding me. No way will my kid walk out with me looking like a skittle.

So at what age do you let them have their own style???

This question came about after seeing recent pictures of Will & Jada's kids Willow and Jaden.

Willow is 9 years old and they have let her shave the side of her head (a la Cassie) and Jaden is 11 and they have just let his hair have a mind of its own.

I am not feeling Jaden's hair at all and even though I can't imagine letting my daughter shave her head at age 9, this cut is super cute on her. I am loving this on so many levels lil Willow.

The cutest thing about this whole situation is that its more than evident she has her dad's ears.

So Question for the Day : At what age do you let your child develop their own style???
PS - Another cool Celeb kid that I think is probably the coolest kid ever is Rev Run's son Diggy.

I loved him the most on the show and he really have his own style... and recently released a mixtape.

Yeah I know what you're thinking, the kid is 14 and I'm not into the bubblegum rap but he's actually pretty good. Its definitely worth a listen. Click on the album cover to download.
I'm hoping my blog fam has a little more sense than the people that follow me on twitter.

Granted this question was brought about by the Tiger Woods situation since today he finally came out and admitted to cheating, but on a bigger picture this isn't about him.

I got answers like :
No one is perfect,
religion and beliefs
certain circumstances/situations.

Does anyone here see an answer to the reason why men cheat? No because there are none there. These are excuses. There is no reason why men cheat! There is no reason for cheating on your WIFE. Not your girlfriend, I said your WIFE!!!

Then the conversation got off tangent when the idea that a man only married a chick because she got pregnant came up.

First and foremost women need to take care of themselves. Granted mistakes can happen, a condom can pop or whatever, but the majority of the time when people have unplanned pregnancies it's because they were being irresponsible with their body. YOU have to take care of YOU. I'm not saying no fault lies on the man but as a woman you have to take care of you.

But like I said, things happen, and just because you got pregnant does not mean that a man should automatically have to marry you. I do not believe in that. A child should not grow up in a home with 2 parents that are unhappy with each other and don't love each other just because they have a baby. That is just dumb and will hurt a child more than a woman being a single parent. The misconception here is that a single parent home is where the child lacks. That is not where the child lacks. The child lacks when the father isn't in their life. Just because the man isn't marrying the woman does not give him a pass to not take care of his child. Fact of the matter is if he marries her just because of the child he probably won't be home a lot anyway since he isn't in love with him situation at home. If he marries you because you got pregnant, you'll be divorced in a couple years and you'll still end up a single parent so what's the point. Anyone who believes its the responsibility of a man to marry a woman just because he got her pregnant is just ignorant.

So now that we've tackled that reason (which sadly has been the only real reason I can fathom for cheating since you married out of obligation), let's move on to the next one.

I agree with this. A lot of men do marry young...but I still don't understand the logic. Why Marry? Why are you marrying these women when you know you are not ready for that type of commitment?
Why not just have your main chick, and then mess with whoever you want on the side? Why take those vows if you know you aren't ready. Why?

And I know women cheat too but I'm not interested in women so I don't care their reasons for cheating. I want to know why men cheat and after seeing this following tweet there will never be an answer that makes sense to me.

No one made you get married so stop getting married for any other reason but than the fact that you love that woman and are ready in mind, body, and spirit to take that step. Any other reason is just uncivilized and the reason the divorce rate is so high.

On another note...

I am pissed right now because I went to my book shelf to look for Never Satisfied by Michael Baisden. It was a collection of interviews he did with different men analyzing why they cheat. I got the book back in college when I was doing radio for free because he came through the station on his book tour and the book was actually good. I wanted to be able to reference it because I didn't remember specifics and the mess was gone. Uuuggghhh so now I can't even pull anything from the book. I really can't stand when people touch my stuff and who knows if I will ever see it again. I've had too many roommates to name in the last 5 years since I've lived in this apartment so who knows who jacked my book before they moved out...

Today I'm starting my 15 day spiritual fast. I feel like my life has been off kilter lately and I need an intervention to get me back focused. My fast will entail the following:

Gym : 4-5 times a week
No eating before 5pm
No red meat or pork when I eat after 5pm
Daily scripture reading (I'm using the Purpose Drive Life Journal as a guide)
No alcohol
No cussing
I can only drink water or hot tea

Most of this is going to take a lot of discipline from me. I don't have a obnoxiously pouty mouth but I can let off a few from time to time. I'm definitely going to try to go out less so I'm not tempted to drink. I'm always going to open bar events or events where I someone I know has bottle service so this is going to be a challenge. Dragging myself in the gym 4-5 times a week is also going to be a challenge. No eating during the day shouldn't give me too many problems even though I'm a foodie, but I am going to miss my bacon. I gotta start thinking up some creative ways to cook chicken and seafood so I'm not eating the same thing every day. Oh and the biggest thing is going to be only drinking water for 15 days. I know my body will appreciate it because I only drink Vitamin Water. I never drink regular plain water I think it's disgusting but that will be part of my fast as well.

I'm fasting to get some clarity on my purpose in life before the New Year. 2009 has came and went and I thought this was going to be my year to shine. Remember my motto was "The shine is mine in '09." Well its just about over and I feel like in a lot of aspects of my life I'm in the same position I was last year this time. There was little growth for me in 2009, and I was to take these next 15 days to reflect on that so I can go into 2010 with a clear plan. Not only say what I'm going to do but map out a path to ensure I'm not feeling this way again at the end of 2010 about my progress as I'm feeling right now.

As an educated black woman, we all know that the numbers are against most of us if we actually want to marry a black man. I took the time to assess my own personal situation in relation to some of the statistics and it's currently featured on EmpressMag.com.
Part II has no background noise... sorry for that but all these people were in the dressing room and finally left.

Also check out this in studio with Chester Gregory. He's currently playing in Dream Girls at Apollo and is a great talent. If you are in NYC this rendition is a must see and it running at Apollo theater until December 8th and then will be traveling to various cities across the country and Japan over the next year so if it hits your city definitely check it out.

It really hurts my spirit sometimes when I'm in a theater where people are yelling out questions that would have been answered if they had just read the book. Now I know I haven't read every book before going to see it in a movie but something like the movie Precious should be a no brainer for all. They have been promoting this for over a year and a book as small as Push by Sapphire shouldn't take anyone more than a week to read. Black people we have to do better. Not be excited about a story because Tyler Perry and Oprah decided to endorse i,t but excited to see a great book make it to the big screen when so many of our stories are lost.

Last Friday, yes on opening day... I rushed to the theater to see Precious. Theaters all over NYC were sold out and I was so extremely proud. Even though I had to get tix to a show I didn't want to because the times I could go were all sold out, I moved some things around in my schedule to make sure that I went.

The movie was amazing. Mo'Nique acted her behind off.

But there were so many distractions in the theater. I was sitting next to a lady probably in her late 40s that hadn't read the book and was asking a load of questions throughout the entire movie. She was with a clan of other women her age so a couple times I leaned over to tell her what was going on so she could pass it along because they seemed to be confused as to what was going on just about the entire movie. She appreciated it, but this really bugged me. The movie is almost directly in line with the book so there should have been no questions at all. The book is definitely a lot more graphic, and I also don't feel the movie fully explained the fact that Precious' mother was mentally ill, but besides that I have no complaints.

I know it has only been released in select cities so most of my readers may have not had the chance to see the movie, but if it does come to your cities please go see it, but make sure you've read the book first.

Last night though, I had some people over the crib for Mexican night and of course it was all in the name of Dallas so we all watched the Cowboys/Eagles game last night. The vid is hella long but a good time since my Cowboys won. It may not have been as gitty if we lost... but either way if you have the length of a football game of time to spare peep the vid.
Biggups to my lil bro Lowkey for taking over the Ustream while I was hosting. Sorry for all the yelling... I felt like I was channeling Mo'Nique on her talk show will all that yelling... you can skip through the first 15minutes... its pretty boring... we were just setting up but after that it gets pretty entertaining...lol
Also follow my ustream. I had hella fun and plan on doing it more often so definitely follow and tune in. www.ustream.com/Eb_the_Celeb

You all know this is the world I live in and why not share it will you all. I usually just throw some entertainment stuff here and there in my Randomosity posts but now we're going to make it more formal. I hope you like.

First up... PRECIOUS comes out this Friday and I want you all to go see it. I just finished the book and I am uber excited to see how the characters will be portrayed on the big screen. I'm sure you've all seen the trailers by now and I hope you'll be out there supporting.

Now a movie you may not have seen the trailer for is for Why Did I Get Married Too. I loved the first and will most definitely be checking out the second. Plus Malik Yoba follows me on twitter so I have to show love to those that show love to me. Check out this ET exclusive.

Uuummm this looks like its going to be 10x better than the first and a milli times more drama. I can't wait until April when this is in theaters.

This whole Rihanna mess is getting on my nerves... all this time has went by and she hasn't opened her dog on mouth and now all of a sudden since she has an album coming out she wants to spill all the beans. Rihanna WE DONT BELIEVE YOU. I'm sorry if you wanted to help women everywhere and it be sincere you should have talked about this a looooong time ago. Now it seems as if you are using a battery situation to promote your album and I can't respect that. But I'm still going to watch... hehehehehehe.

Supposedly she is going to really talk about what happened that night Friday night on 20/20 and I will be watching that as well.

There is a load of new music out. First and foremost all my readers should have Melanie Fiona's album. She is a doll, can blow, and is amazing live. You should have her album, I'm talking about you can listen to it start to finish, no skipping songs, the entire album is good; and she's on a promo tour so if she is in your city she is a must see. She blew me away when I saw her, and she is so genuine and thanked me for supporting her music early on on my music blog. Freakin' love this chick.

She also follows me on twitter and you should be following her. She's s real and down to earth and its refreshing her appreciation and interaction with her fans.

Another lady that is a must see if one of my fav Ms. Teedra Moses who will be in NYC @Sobs next week and I cant wait... yyyeeessssss... its been a while since she's been here.

Last night I attended Ryan Leslie's Presentation of his new album Transition that was released this past Tuesday. I definitely don't feel this album is as good as his last but hearing the story of how the album came about made me understand the urgency of him releasing 2 albums in one year. When you're inspired, you're inspired and there are definitely a couple notable tracks on the album. Check out some vid from the presentation and go HERE to check out exclusive music videos that aren't out yet that he premiered at the presentation.

Uuummm another album to get when it drops on November 10th is WALE's album. REAL hip hop at his finest. "Beautiful Bliss" with J. Cole & Melanie Fiona, "Shades" with Chrisette Michelle, and World Tour with Jazmine Sullivan are my fav 3 tracks.

50 Cent has an album coming out too but we aren't going to talk about that. We're going to talk about his new cologne ad where he is hella airbrushed & his tattoos seem to have magically disappeared.

What say ye???
Event all about it!

The season of giving has officially begun. It kinda freaked me out a bit when I saw a Christmas commercial during the games on Sunday but it was officially November so I don't know why I was surprised. Either way I'm taking the time out to help the NYC Chapter of ACT-SO raise money for programs that benefit high school students. I know the programs I was in back then that really helped shape my decisions in what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. At one point I thought I was going to be an engineer and this was solely based on the fact that I was good in math. Through several programs in high school I realized that it was my destiny to be in a career more creative and I've been blessed to do so many things. No point in these kids going to college and majoring in something they don't love, or no reason in some of these kids thinking that because of their current situation, they won't ever make it to college. Here is the main event fundraiser.

We do understand that times are hard you may not be able to make that contribution so we are having a Wine Happy Hour on Tuesday. Only $5 desired donation to take part in some of the best wines. Click on the pic to RSVP.

Besides those events, my music blog www.jonesin-eb-style.com is a sponsor for a great event recognizing phenomenal women in radio both as personalities or deejays called Leading Ladies.

And of course every month Mixtape Comedy goes down!

Last and probably the least...there is this blogging chick that gets on my last damn nerves like on the daily she is either harassing me on twitter, asking me for directions on how to get somewhere in NY, blowing up my BBM, or sending me a dozen emails about some blog meet-up she is organizing. Well its her birthday month and she just begged me to come to her party and to bring my lovely readers with me. Click on the flyer to RSVP:

All of the above about Kitty Bradshaw was just jokes for those that don't know how much me and her go back and forth and play around. I love that crazy chick to death.

Disorderly conduct is one of the most common offenses in the United States, and is often the result of unreasonable police officers giving someone a hard time until they lose their cool.
Disorderly conduct generally includes most kinds of unruly or disturbing behaviors, which acts to provoke a disturbance.

Examples of Disorderly Conduct
Disorderly conduct offenses vary widely by state. Here are some of the most common acts that are considered disorderly conduct offenses:

Public drunkenness

Inciting a riot

disturbance of the peace

loitering in certain areas

fighting / physical altercations

obstructing traffic

use of extremely obscene or abusive language

loud or unreasonable noise

Given the wide range of behaviors that could constitute disorderly conduct, a person may be arrested for this crime without proper cause. Virtually any socially offensive or disruptive conduct may be prosecuted as disorderly conduct.

______________________

Eb was arrested last night...and for disorderly conduct. You've read the examples of disorderly conduct and Eb did none of the above. Want to know why Eb got arrested... for asking NYPD Officer Henry Rivera a question.

Outside of Sin City in NYC I didn't even want to go but some friends were in town from Dallas with some cats from Universal Records and asked us to come by. When we walk up there are a million cops everywhere. They are announcing that no one else is getting in. We (me and my roommate) text the person that invited us and he says to just wait a couple minutes, they are holding the door but we already have your wristbands and already paid for you so I'll be out in a minute. At this time they make everyone leave from in front of the club. So we walk down the street.

Its just me and my roommate standing there and 3 cops come over to us and ask us to move.

Eb "We can't stand here on the sidewalk?"

Officer Henry Rivera "We need you to move"

Eb "Why can't we stand here on the sidewalk, we're not even near the club?"

Officer Henry Rivera "Do you want to get a summons that explains why you cant stand here"

Eb "What?"

Officer Henry Rivera "Do you want a summons?"

Eb "I'm going to get a summons for asking you a question?

Officer Henry Rivera "Do you want a summons?"

Then my roommate started video taping

Here is what was said if you didn't catch it.

Eb "No, I want to know how I am breaking the law. I would like to know that"

Officer Henry Rivera "Can you turn around? Can you turn around? You want a summons right?

Eb "You can't arrest me without telling me what I'm being arrested for.

Officer Henry Rivera "Alright, turn around.

I was not told until I got to the precinct what I had been arrested for... and Officer Henry Rivera had the nerve to say it was "Disorderly Conduct." He was seriously ego-tripping and mad that I wasn't some ignorant chick outside a club that doesn't know her rights. That is what I should have been charged with "knowing my rights."

This is the reason I hate cops. For the most part there is a psychological complex about them. Most of them aren't a cop to make the city better. They have an ego, small dicks, were teased as a kid, have issues with their own image. They are looking for something that gives them an essence of power so why not go into the profession of gun toating. I wish we had gotten video when we were standing in front of the club. One officer was slinging his night stick around like he was a drum major.

I'm still in awe of the night I had. Then when they are checking me in a lady cop asks me, you don't seem like the type that would be in a strip club anyway. What were you doing there? I tell her the situation of the people I was meeting and she goes "oh oh oh, you work in the music industry? I need to get your info because my daughter is a singer."

Are you serious??? You have handcuffs on me and you are talking to me about helping your daughter get on.

10 minutes after arriving at the precinct I was let go. Now was any of this necessary??? I'm sure that while you were harassing me... someone in NYC was raped, shot, killed, abused and yet I was arrested for standing on a public sidewalk and asking a cop a question.

Eb got that ish on LOCK!

Me and a load of twitters had a blast at Karaoke at Billie's Black in Harlem last Tuesday. If you are ever looking for something to do on a random Tuesday night that is the place to be. Cheap drinks, good food, and a broad spectrum of some people sounding a hot mess, which makes it all the more fun, and a couple people that get on your damn nerves acting like karaoke is an American Idol audition. lolol. I made a little video of me and the twitter crew that came out. (Some of you got lucky because I have no footage of you... I shall make sure next time no one is safe...lol) Sorry the video is so dark. But the audio is the most important thing anyway.

Big shouts to everyone who came out. I know I am forgettting some people but please forgive me:
@F_Uitlist (who I'm side eyeing for not getting video of my best performance), @MissCocoaLuv, @jrdjay, @gamesportsmag, @only1joy, @krystleglass, @dejanae411, @msSochic, @msHollywood79

In past years I've been something sweet...Cupid, Rainbow Brite

but this year... I'm going to bring the evil out. Although I'm not going to tell, I shall unveil.

If you haven't gotten your tickets yet for the Dreamteam/Digiwaxx Halloween Party do so ASAP because they are thinking its going to sell out looking at the current numbers. Go HERE for tix!

To get you in the Halloween spirit I figured I'd share some of my fav Male Costumes from past Halloweens
Please hit me up in the comments with any and all feedback. Be brutally honest, no sugar coating just because this is my blog. I want that real criticism.

Have you ever heard of the "Can Get It" draft on Facebook??? Well in Episode 2 we started with that and took it took the next level. We held a draft with some of the biggest analysts in sports as judges and I sit on the panel as Sherri Shepherd (The View) to add a little spice to everything. You'll also catch me as Drankalicious (one of the draftees.) I had soooooo much fun shooting these skits so I hope you enjoy it!
Yup, Eb cried this morning and uncontrollably. A snotting, nasty, ugly cry. A load of emotions from places unknown just took over me and as I type they take over me again. I can't even remember the last time I cried and don't even really know what I'm crying about right now...

Yeah I tweeted the title and thought I'd better come over here to RBW to explain. Men may be a little grossed out by this, some men might be a little turned on... you never know so that's a little warning.

The week before my cycle I am extremely horny. Extremely! Like uncontrollably horny to the point that penis and only penis is on the brain. I never have PMS in the typical sense. I'm never moody a couple days before, and I rarely get cramps during my cycle. For the most part, my lil 4 days when Ms. Red decides to visit are mostly painless. So when I talk about PMS it means I need someone to penis my sexy before its too late. I didn't notice it until about 2 years ago when there have been several huge breaks in between the times I'm having sex. I mean you can't really miss penis if you're getting it on the regular. So this sporadic loving is jacking up my cycle's psyche. Seriously its like the epitome of being in heat. I feel like a rapist. Sometimes I wish I had it in me to just be a hoe for that week because the urge is so strong at times I don't even care who is dicking me down just as long as someone is. But since I'm not a hoe I walk around like a lost horn dog that can't find her way.

I have to find me a winter boo and quick because when it hits around the 3month mark where I'm at right now it really starts to get out of hand. Thus the reason I'm explaining to the blog world the problem that I'm having. I wonder if they have therapy sessions for people with Penis my Sexy Syndrome. Someone I can talk to to get me through that week because all the other weeks of the month I'm fine. Not the least bit horny at all. But that one week before... not one penis walking the street is safe.

I had a sports blog a while back but it became too much to keep up with by myself, especially having this blog and my music blog. This group blog has made it so that I can still get my Sports perspective out to the world, without the weight being solely on my shoulders to keep great posts flowing. I was lucky enough to meet some great writers and lovers of sports in this crazy blog world that help keep this new blog fresh and unique.

The blog is called Sista Sports.

www.sistasports.com is a place for women who love sports and the men who love us for it. It's mostly a female take on sports but from time to time we let the men chime in and give their perspective. Tonight I will be featuring all the writers on my RBW Radio.

Click on the pic above to go to the show page and get more info and

Make sure you tune in tonight at 9pm.

Its going to be a great show! Battle of the sexes of sorts and talking about everything sports and how men and women view sports differently. The show will bring Sistasports.com to life.

I had the pleasure of attending the Dr. Miracle's screening of Chris Rock's new documentary "Good Hair" last night and had a ball. First they showed the movie and there was a panel discussion after (Biggups to the Get Em Girls who provided the yummy cupcakes and Nuvo who provided the drinks).

First I have to say that I love Dr. Miracle's products.

Their perm is a little more expensive than other brands but its worth it. Its the only perm that doesn't weigh my hair down, its always so soft and silky, and I never see any breakage when I use their perm. It's really worth the extra couple of dollars.

Also for my ladies that wear braids or weaves, you know from time to time your edges can start to get a little thin. Well their Temple & Nape Gro Balm works wonders. I used it for 2 weeks and my edges were right back full like they've always been. I love it!

Eb also loves freebies and they gave out gift bags that had one of my fav products in it. The HEALING Leave in Conditioner. I was low on leave in conditioner (and its no secret we're in a recession) so I felt like looking in the mirror and making one of my own thank you Dr. Miracle commercials but I settled on just taking a flick instead.

If you love Dr. Miracles as much as I do you can be featured on their website. Each week they choose one person to showcase on their site as the "Look of the Week" and the winner gets a Dr. Miracle's prize package. Just log on to www.drmiracles.com/salon and upload your pic.

OK now on to the movie. I went into it thinking it was just going to be a comedy poking fun at everything black women do to their hair. I mean Chris Rock IS behind it, so how serious could you take it. To his credit it is extremely hilarious, but its also very educational. There were so many things I did'nt know about the industry and it bothered me finding out that a lot of these businesses we support thinking they are black owned businesses, are not really black owned. It boggles me how much other races are making off of black hair. Billions of dollars. I wasn't naive to the fact that when it came to hair weave were weren't the ones ringing in all the dough, but I thought for the most part on the product end we were. I was so wrong!

I don't want to give the entire movie away but its definitely worth the trip to the movies to support so please don't bootleg...lol...and bring your entire family. Although some language isn't appropriate for little kids, they sit and watch videos all day so they definitely don't have virgins ears...bring their tails anyway. It saddened me that there were girls in the movie that were 3 years old and getting perms.

I remember I couldn't get a perm until I entered middle school. Before that we went to grandma's house to sit in that chair that was next to the stove and got our hair pressed with a hot comb. I guess that era of black hair is dead and gone.

There was a panel following the screening that had a celebrity stylist, an image consultant, a person from Dr. Miracle's, a personal trainer, a beauty editor, and the lovely Michaela Angela Davis.

Sorry I never got any of the other panelist names. I've written about Ms. Davis here before. I absolutely adore this woman. She speaks so eloquently and always gives it to you straight. The thing I took away from her was that we as black women have to learn to love each other in whatever we decide to do with our hair. There are a lot of women with natural hair and locs that look down on women with perms and vice versa. We are all individuals and that's why we fascinate the world so much because we aren't all the same. Everything she spoke was the highlight for me on the panel.

There were 2 comments that got on my last damn nerves though.

The fitness professional, a black male, stated that women have to stop skipping out on the gym because they just got their hair done. This fool done lost his mind. I refuse to go to the gym the week I got a fresh perm or at least 48 hours after I just got my hair done. A man would never understand this. I understand being healthy and working out. I do not need to be in the gym every day to be healthy. Skipping out on the gym for 2 days after I have a fresh do or the week I get my perm is not going to kill me. I had to side eye him something heavy when he said that.

The 2nd comment that got on my nerves was from a woman on the panel that was 1/2 indian and 1/2 black but she looked like she was full indian and made a comment about her home girls never going out when it rains. This is right. I never go out when it rains and its not just because of my hair. I don't like my clothes wet and I don't like the mess of it. I'd rather stay home. Maybe if I didn't live in NYC where I choose not to drive, then maybe, but I don't have time to get ready to go out and look a hot mess by the time I get there because of precipitation. She said she just throws her hair back in a pony tail and is ready to go. Well sorry sweetie... I don't have a pony tail to throw my hair back into.

My point in putting these statements is that a soon and we were being uplifted to embrace each hair type and the way that people decide to style their hair, we were being put down again... and I didn't like that. They ended the panel with stating that good hair cannot be defined as anything except healthy hair. Nothing can be defined as good hair, you can have locs that are unhealthy and breaking off, just as you can have hair that has been dyed blonde and is breaking off. So the key is to embrace the hair you have, and the way you love to style your hair and make sure its healthy. Take the time to learn your hair and manage your hair so matter how you decide to style it, that it's healthy. We also have to start with our young girls and instilling in them that no matter what type of hair they have, straight, curly, nappy, kinky, that they embrace their natural hair. Perming a 3 year old's hair is definitely subconsciously sending the wrong message to that little girl that what's growing out of her head isn't good enough and that is detrimental to society.

The movie brings up a lot of issues we have in our community but its not all serious. There are plenty of good laughs. I was on the floor rolling when the tumble weave part came on. I don't know about other cities but in NYC, no matter what part of NYC you are in but especially where I live in Harlem where there are 3 African Hair braiding salons on each block, there is a plethora of tumble weave. Peep the clip.

Sometimes my spirit is clouded and although invited to many events I stay home. Sometimes you're just tired of being around people that just want to be seen or known for something. Half of them don't even care what they are known for, just as long as they can jump in every picture and pray they end up on WireImage. Yes, a secret that many people don't want to talk about is a lot of NYers live to end up on WireImage. Seriously, how is that gratifying? If you are doing something great, people will notice. You don't have to be at every event, don't lie and say you're networking because once you're in the circle you know everyone anyway. I'm always looking at the big picture, and still struggling with my on-cam presence since I hate is so much, so I can never relate to these people. So here are a couple thoughts to ponder that challenge what is means to really BE SOMEBODY.

"Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food." - Proverbs 12:9

"When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you." - Lao-Tzu

"Try not to be a person of success, but rather a person of virtue."
- Albert Einstein
I still rocks with youtube...lol... I picked out 5 videos to showcase... check em out!

First up... remember the sketch comedy (Skoob TV) that I told you I was apart of. The 1st episode has launched. I introduce you to "The Has Been Clinic!" You can catch me around the 4:14 mark. R. Kelly is trying to get my booty.

I just found another reason why I have to have identical twins boys.

Oh my God these singing twins (darius and demetrice) are so freaking cute. I love them!

My life is so random sometimes... I hit up my homeboy the other day telling him I was around the corner from his office and was going to stop by and he goes... Juvenile is here so come interview him. I was like what, wait, I haven't done any research... I don't even know what the heck he is doing with himself right now. Lucky for me I carry my camera with me for crazy times like this. So here is my no research impromptu interview with Juvenile.

This next clip still cracks me up every time I see it....lol

my favorite part is "nlalaloloolor...my ass" bwhahaahahahaha

I'm addicted to Ed Lover's C'mon son. Peep #5

BONUS JOINT!!!!

I really wanna see this movie THE TAKERS... all my husbands are in it.
My chocolate husband = Idris Elba
My red bone husband = Michael Ealy
1 of My white husbands = Paul Walker
