In this post, I’ll explain how to login to windows 8 using built in administrator account. In windows, administrator account access is required to access important files and folders. Also this account allows users to make changes in registry, group policies and other system files. See the rest of the post to find out how you can enable the built in administrator account.

In Windows 8, the built in administrator account is disabled by default. So you will require to enable it first before using that account. Here’s how to do it.

How to Enable Admin account in Windows 8

Click Start Menu, Right Click Computer and select Manage. (If ‘Computer’ option doesn’t come in start menu, just type computer after pressing start)

It will ask for UAC, click yes to continue.

Now Computer Management console will open up. Click System tools folder and from there select Local users and Groups.

Next, click on Users folder.

Now if you see the right pane of the computer management window, you can see the list of accounts created on your computer. From there you’ll be able to see the administrator account.
Now right click on the administrator account and select properties.

In the properties tab, uncheck the option “Account is disabled”.

Click Ok and close the computer management window.

With these steps the administrator account is active in your computer. Create a very strong password for this account so that this account is not misused by any other users of your computer. Login to Windows 8 using this administrator account and do the changes which are required. Disable this account if you’re not planning to use it in near future.

Internet Explorer for Windows 7 has been finally released by Microsoft team. This latest version of IE 10 was available only in Windows 8 and only the beta version could be tried out in Windows 7.

The look and feel of Internet Explorer has now completely changed and now looks more or like Google Chrome. This version of IE10 in Windows 7 is definitely more faster than the predecessor. There are two versions of IE10, one for x86(32bit) and other x64(64bit) and is available on Windows 7 with SP1.

Even though Microsoft is claiming a speed boost of 20% from IE9, it has to be tested out by users whether this claim stands true or not. Internet Explorer 10 has major focus on HTML5 and also comes with a feature called DNT (Do Not Track) for users concerned over privacy. In HTML5 test, IE10 scores 320 and 6bonus points but stands long back behind Chrome 24’s score of 448 with 13 bonus points.

Now we will see how to root Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean easily without flashing any insecure kernel or without any third party software’s. Download Root Zip Package for Android 4.1.2 Jellybean XXLSJ

After downloading the root package given in above link, copy XXLSJ-ROOT-CWM6(renjusblog.com).zip file to external SD card. (make sure you’re not copying the file to internal SD card instead)

Switch Off the phone.

After the phone is switched off, press Volume Up + Home button and then still holding these buttons press the Power button. Now your phone will boot into the recovery mode.

At the Android system recovery screen, select apply update from external storage.

First of all, make sure to Root your phone by following the procedure AS mentioned in my previous article on how to Root Samsung Galaxy S2.

After rooting your phone, follow the below procedure to update your galaxy S2 to android jelly bean 4.1.2

- Enable USB debugging (Settings>Developer options>USB Debugging)

- Battery charge (>60%)

- Install USB drivers of your phone (Just install Kies software from Samsung)

* For SMS, use SMS Backup and Restore application.

* For Contacts, either sync with Google or use export to SD card option.

Download ODIN3 v1.87 (Link)

How to Upgrade/ Flash Samsung Galaxy S2 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I9100XXLSJ

After downloading Jelly bean firmware, extract to a folder. You’ll have these files in them.

- CHECKSUM.md5
- CODE_I9100XXLSJ.tar
- CSC_HOME_OXX_I9100OXXLS1.tar
- emmc_EXT4_16GB.pit
- emmc_EXT4_32GB.pit
- MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar

After extracting ODIN, extract it to a folder and open Odin3v1.87.exe (Right click and select Run as administrator)

Now power off Galaxy S2. (wait till it vibrates and soft button lights turn off)

Then Boot into Download Mode (Press Volume Down + Home and then press Power Button)

Now you’ll see a android icon in download mode. Now connect your usb cable to phone.

In ODIN, you can see a yellow icon written 0:[COM] with corresponding port number. Also a message will appear ‘Added’ in message box.

On the right hand side of ODIN, you can see PDA, Phone and CSC option. Select files accordingly as (refer figure)

CSC – CSC_HOME_OXX_I9100OXXLS1.tar

Click Start Button in ODIN.

After the upgrade is complete, ODIN will display a PASS message and yellow icon will turn Green.

After this phone will automatically reboot and you’ll be having Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware. If you’re having any problems updating galaxy s2 to android 4.1.2 please mention them in comments.

How to Hide Application in Control Panel Add/Remove Programs

In this article, we will discuss how to hide an application from showing up in Add/Remove Programs in Windows control panel. There is no need to download any software’s, and all we have to do is to edit some information in the registry.

The Add Remove programs feature in the control panel shows us the list of all programs installed in the PC. Due to some reasons if we don’t want any particular programs to show up in the list, use the following trick to hide programs from add/ remove programs list in control panel.

The program list which is shown in Add/Remove programs is collected from registry path shown below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

So all we need to do is to go to that particular uninstall entry of the program and change the display name. Here I will show you an example on how to hide Yahoo Messenger from Add Remove programs list. Similarly you can do the same trick to hide programs like utorrent, Google Talk, MSN Messenger, Facebook Messenger etc.

How to hide Programs from Add/Remove Programs list.

—>Example shown below explains us how to hide Yahoo Messenger.

Click Start and type Regedit.exe

Right click on regedit.exe and select Run as Administrator. [You’ll require admin rights to edit registry]
Navigate to the following location.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Uninstall \Yahoo Messenger
Click on Yahoo Messenger on left pane.
Now you can see the options coming up for Yahoo Messenger in the right pane of registry editor.

In the right pane, Select DisplayName.
Right click on DisplayName and select Rename.
Now change it any other value, like for example you can change it to NeverDisplayName or NoDisplayName.

After completing this trick, Yahoo Messenger program will not be shown in the Add/Remove programs list.

Similarly you can repeat the same trick to hide other programs which you want to hide from Add/Remove programs list, like Messengers, Utorrents, download managers etc. This hack for hiding programs from control panel will work on Windows Vista,Windows 7,Windows XP and Windows 8.
