how to resolve Error 04 CANON MP258

E04 error on Canon Pixma MP258 printer often occur when using ink infusion.

Cause :
Cartridges can not move to the left to the right in because the ink hose snagged by infusion.

Solution:

1. Power the printer must remain ON
2. Open the printer cover
3. Trim the hose printer in order not to hinder the movement of the cartridge drove to the left and to the right.
4. Slide the cartridge notch toward the left end.
5. Close the printer
6. Turn off the printer
7. Turn the printer back

How to cope with a striped print results, or even worse, the ink can not get out. This condition often occurs due to a lack of attention to the printer head. For how to fix or overcome , the first thing we can do is clean the printer head . For how to clean it , Remove the cartridge from the printer head and printer , remove the ink cartridge from the head . Do not touch the electronic circuits that exist around the head of the printer, as this may cause damage to the electronics rangkainan . Use head cleaning fluid to remove ink former frozen and dried , it is most likely the main cause of ink can not be out at the time of printing .If you do not have a printer head cleaning fluid try using the following tips :

1. Take hot water , pour in a bowl .

2. Dip the tip of the head to the hot water in the bowl .

Pay attention not to touch the water existing electronic circuits around the head so can cause damage .

3. Shake the print head to the ink that is in the head melt .

4. Repeat step dyeing ( 4 to 6 ) above with a new hot water until the water remains clear

hot new ( not contaminated ink out of the head ) .

5. Dry the print head with a soft cloth until it is completely dry .

Replace the printer head and cartridge into the printer and try to print . If you have done the steps of cleaning the printer head as above but the result remains the same , the possibility of blockage occur until the ink distribution pipe . When this happens , try steaming nozzle head with steam to about ink that is in the pipeline to melt , then repeat the head cleaning steps as above . The main solution is to reset the entire printer:
1. Disconnect the power cable
2. Connect it while holding down the power button
3. With the power button still down, press twice the "Cancel/Stop" red button
4. Release the power button
5. The printes turns into a kind of factory mode...(wait for about 10 seconds, utils it says "Idle")
6. Press the ">" (next to the "OK" button) once."Shipping Mode 3"
7. Press the "OK" button.
8. Press "OK" again for "Without cleaning"
9. A test page will print..
10. Open the cover, like you are about to change the cartridges.
11. Disconnect the power cable again.
12. Take out both cartridges.

Design of the Canon PIXMA MP476 All-in-one Inkjet Printer

The Canon PIXMA MP476 uses the same basic design as the PIXMA MP510. The black-and-silver body measures 451 x 353 x 169mm. The silver scanner lid conceals an A4-size flatbed scanner. Because the MP476 lacks an automatic document feeder, you can't scan legal-size documents.
The paper handling system is simple. A paper input support flips open in the rear and the front panel of the printer folds open to serve as the output tray. Next to the output tray is a small door that conceals two memory card slots. The slots accept most common types of memory cards, though some require an adapter (which is not included).

Hidden away under the memory cards is a PictBridge-enabled USB port (it's so hidden that we missed it on first inspection). You can use it to connect PictBridge cameras for direct printing, or to attach an optional Bluetooth adapter (sold separately) for wireless printing. The one thing you can't attach to the USB port is a flash thumbdrive; the Dell Photo 926 lets you print files from an attached flash drive.

The control panel is hidden underneath a flip-up panel on the top side of the printer. Embedded on the underside of the panel is a 1.8-inch graphical LCD. The control panel is basic, though well-organized. Buttons include task buttons for copy, scan, and memory card modes, menu navigation buttons, and two start buttons--one for black-only and one for color.

To reset counter Canon PIXMA iX4000 or iX5000 you have to enter to service mode. Procedure to enter to service mode on Canon PIXMA iX4000 or iX5000 is as following :

Connect the Canon PIXMA iX5000 or iX4000 printer to the power cord. ( note : If the automatic power-on function is enabled in the printer, the printer enters the service mode for the first time, but it will never enter the service mode if the printer is turned off by the Power button. This is because the printer remains to be turned on internally if the power is turned off by the Power button. To prevent this, disconnection of the power cord is required before starting the printer in the service mode ) .

At the end of the service mode, press the Power button. The paper lifting plate of the sheet feed unit will be raised.

Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.

How to reset the Canon MP150 after a refill (Step 10 concerns refill; instructions below the steps):

Method1 (Safe Factory Method):

1) Disconnect the printer’s power outlet

2) Press and hold the power button while connecting the power outlet back.
3) While still holding down the power button, press the reset button twice.(red circle with a triangle)

4) Release the power button

The printer takes about 10 seconds to show the number 0.

5) Press + to change the value from 0 to 1.
6) When this value is 1, press colour button; this will light up two leds.

One is for plain paper and the other for photo paper. At this point is feed the printer with paper.
7) Press the power button twice and the printer will print a some stuff (if this page doesn't print by itself, press the "color" button once and the test page will print). Don’t worry much about the printed material. I got some stripped lines and some numbers. I believe that my colour cartridge is clogged which is why I got the green strips.

When you print this sheet the value in the display returns to zero.
8 ) Open the printer cover cover (not the scanner cover) and remove the cartridges. With the printer still open, disconnect the power outlet.
9) Close the lid and turn on the printer.
10) Refill cartridges and place them back in their nice little abode in the printer.

E733-0001 means a fault is detected by the main controller PCB in the communication between the DC controller PCB and the main controller PCB.

Main cause: The connector has poor connection. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Solution:
Verify the connection between the connector J1015 on the main controller PCB and the conductor J316 on the DC controlled PCB is normal.
Correct the connection if necessary.

INDIKASI "WASTE FULL ERROR"
Lampu warna orange dan hijau hidup secara bergantian sebanyak 7 kali dengan spasi warna hijau, mengindikasikan bahwa waste counter sudah lebih dari 100%, ini adalah kondisi terakhir setelah peringatan operator call error dengan kode lampu orange berkedip tanpa diselingi warna hijau sebanyak8 kali.

SERVICE MODE
Dalam keadaan error maka printer dalam kondisi sibuk dan tidak siap dilakukan inspeksi, langkah awal untuk inspeksi diharuskan memasukkan printer pada mode service dengan cara sebagai berikut:
1. Dalam kondisi printer mati dengan printhead catridge terpasang,
pada saat power off (tanpa listrik) tekan dan tahan tombol power (sebelah kiri) kemudian
berikan power (masukkan kabel listrik).
2. Dalam kondisi tombol power masih tertekan, tekanlah tombol resume
(sebelah kanan) 2 kali, kemudian lepaskan tombol power,
dan tunggulah beberapa saat setelah lampu tidak berkedip.
3. Setelah lampu tidak mengindikasikan adanya error
berarti printer siap untuk diinspeksi, apabila masih ada indikasi error lain
silahkan cek apakah printhead cartridge sudah terpasang,
atau cobalah cek indikasi kode error tersebut.

EEPROM RESET
1. Silahkan pilih nomor port USB dari printer yang akan direset, perlu diperhatikan bahwa program GeneralTool tidak dapat digunakan apabila nomor port melebihi batas tertentu (20 port), apabila port USB sudah melebihi batas cobalah untuk menghapus printer-printer yang ada dan lakukan restart pada komputer, apabila port belum terhapus silahkan hilangkan melalui root didalam registry Windows.

2. Apabila diperlukan inisialisasi tipe printer tekanlah tombol "iP1000" didalam kotak "SET
DESTINATION", inisialisasi ini diperlukan apabila terjadi kesalahan tipe printer dimana tipeprinter tidak sesuai dengan daerah pemasaran (market area) atau tidak sesuai dengan kondisi asli (lihat tipe printer yang tertera di cover printer), silahkan cek tipe printer dengan menekan tombol "DEVICEID" didalam kotak "GET DEVICE ID".

3. Berikan tanda cek pada pilihan "EEPROM CLEAR", selanjutnya lakukan test pattern dengan
menekan tombol "TEST PATTERN 1" atau "TEST PATTERN 3", dimana "TEST PATERN 1" akan memberikan printout data EEPROM dan melakukan test prinhead untuk semua nozzle (hitam dan warna), "TEST PATTERN 3" akan memberikan printout data EEPROM dan melakukan test printhead untuk nozzle hitam.

4. Matikan printer dan cabutlah kabel listrik, tunggu beberapa saat untuk memastikan printer benar-benar mati. Siapkan tank berisi tinta penuh dan selanjutnya hidupkan kembali printer dan tunggu beberapa saat setelah proses printhead cleaning selesai (tahap printhead cleaning pertama) dan lampu hijau tidak berkedip. Silahkan cek nilai waste counter dengan menekan tombol "EEP-ROMINFORMATION", pastikan nilai waste counter (nilai D) tidak melebihi 10%.

5. Matikan printer, tunggu beberapa saat dan hidupkan kembali printer. Selanjutnya printer akan masukpada tahap printhead cleaning kedua. Silahkan lakukan test pattern untuk menampilkan printout data EEPROM (tanpa "CLEAR EEPROM") dan juga cobalah lakukan "Test Print Page" yang sudah disediakan oleh Windows melalui properties dari printer bersangkutan.

REFERENSI
Operator Call Error (Lampu orange berkedip tanpa diselingi lampu hijau),

Paper jam (kertas macet), apabila berkelanjutan cobalah cek sensor
kertas berupa tuas (warna hitam) mengubungkan kertas dengan photo
sensor pada PCB.

Blinking 6 Times
No cartridge installed (tidak ada printhead cartridge), apabila
berkelanjutan cobalah cek terminal yang menghubungkan printhead
cartridge dengan carriage, atau cek kondisi kabel ribbon.

Blinking 7 Times
Cartridge installed improperly (printhead cartridge terpasang tidak
benar), kemungkinan dikarenakan prinhead cartridge salah atau terjadi
kerusakan pada EEPROM printhead cartridge).

Blinking 8 Times
Waste ink full warning (peringatan sebelum error nilai waste counter
melebihi 100%).
