Parkway Drive have released a brand new video for their track, “Wild Eyes” from their chart topping album, Atlas. A follow up to their wildly successful video “Dark Days” which has over 3.6 million views and precludes the new video, “Wild Eyes” depicts the dismal future of the world in a post-apocalyptic live show setting.

Check out the video here

“This video basically continues on where “Dark Days” left off” says Ben Gordon who notes that both videos were the concept of director Aaron Hymes. “Dark Days” was commentary on present day and showed the worlds state of environmental Crisis. “Wild Eyes” is set in the near future, after the World has been destroyed by man.”

Gordon goes on to say, “the lyrical concept of “Wild Eyes” deals with inevitable the end of the world and the impact of our actions so we ran with that idea pretty literally, taking inspiration from post-apocalyptic images portrayed through films over the years. We are all stoked on this video!”

Atlas, the bands fourth studio album achieved Gold status earlier this year.

Poison City’s annual Weekender fest is back again for 2013! Part music festival, part punk-rock family reunion, the 3 day event converges on Melbourne every September to celebrate friendship, great bands and the thriving music community that Poison City has become. This year The Weekender takes over the John Curtin Hotel on Friday September 6th, Corner Hotel on Saturday September 7th and The Reverence Hotel on Sunday September 8th.

Headlining the festivities in 2013 is beloved Melbourne foursome The Smith Street Band. Stalwarts of The Weekender fest, this year’s headline performance will be their last in Australia for while as they gear up for some serious overseas touring immediately after. The Smith Street Band will be joined by very special international guests, Joyce Manor (USA), Cheap Girls (USA) and Cory Branan (USA), all making their first, eagerly awaited visit down under.

The line-up also features two legends of Australia’s punk/ indie rock scene, Blueline Medic (playing their only show for 2013) and The Nation Blue (Launching the LP re-issue of ‘A Blueprint For Modern Noise’), along with Luca Brasi, Hoodlum Shouts, White Walls, Lincoln Le Fevre, Arrows, The Bennies, Deep Heat, Milhouse (Last Show!), Grim Fandango, Jen Buxton, Infinite Void, Clowns, Postblue, Apart From This and Pinch Hitter – with more acts still to be announced!

Full line-ups for each venue will be announced in coming days and tickets go on sale Friday May 10th from Poison City Shop/ E-Store and Corner Hotel Box Office. Once again there will be a limited Early Bird allocation of 3-Day Weekender Passes, giving access to all shows at a discounted rate.

Melbourne is not known for producing weak-willed hardcore bands and Outsider’s Code is no exception. Featuring members of 50 Lions, Her Nightmare, Hitlist and Warbrain, this band means business. Consolidating an array of influences conducive to years spent in the Australian music scene, Outsiders Code emerges with an intensity of their own. Not often does such a powerful band incorporate layers of musicality and subtle guitar melody with iron grip vehemence and nail it. Outsider’s Code nails it.

Extensive live shows and their debut ‘Self Titled’ 7” accelerated scene fervour in 2012 and served as an anticipatory prelude to their debut full length album ‘Exiled From Birth’. Mixed and mastered by legendary hardcore and metal producer Chris ‘Zeuss’ Harris (Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Earth Crisis, Madball, Terror), their debut album is due in 2013 and backed by the band’s determination to make their presence known. And heard.

Outsider’s Code “Exiled From Birth” CD / LP / Digital available June 7, 2013.

Pre orders are now available for limited coloured vinyl.

Formed in Connecticut in 1985 by Ray Cappo (vocals) and John Porcelly (guitar), with the aim to start a Straight Edge band at a time when most old school Straight Edge bands had disbanded, Youth Of Today established the youth crew subculture of hardcore, both espousing and evolving the philosophies of positive living.

Having disbanded in 1990, in 2011 Youth of Today returned, bringing their timeless message and spirit back to hardcore listeners all over the world.

Undisputed kings of Australian hardcore, PARKWAY DRIVE are set to commemorate 10 years of incredible achievements with a special anniversary tour this September.

Turning 10 is yet another milestone in the career of the quintet, who’ve set benchmark after benchmark since playing their first show at Byron Bay Youth Activity Centre back in 2003. Major accomplishments have included two Gold-certified albums, two Platinum-selling DVDs, sold-out Australian tours, countless global circumnavigations, and appearances at virtually every major music festival on the planet.

PARKWAY DRIVE’s most recent full-length, 2012’s Atlas, helped further reinforce their position as leaders in their field, hitting all the familiar marks while exploring breathtaking new sonic avenues.

PARKWAY DRIVE’s 10-year anniversary tour is planned as a celebration for both the band and their staunch fanbase. Set to be held in some of the most intimate venues the band has played in many years, the setlists will be comprised of material spanning their entire back catalogue, including some older fan favourites that will be dusted off especially for the occasion.

“We can’t believe we lasted 10 years!” says vocalist Winston McCall “We’re going to be taking it back to the Parkway of old. Classic venues, classic jams. We’ve been going over our releases and have around 30 songs from all eras ready to be dusted off. No frills, just Parkway the way it always has been, fast, heavy and fun.”

Tickets on sale Friday April 19.
