In addition to designing the fleshed out microsite, I’ve had the pleasure of working on the design for several of the apps themselves. With Rocket Hunter I created the branding as well as the app UI, for Topic Tiles I worked on the UI, and I served as Creative Director on the In the Land of Cocktails app.

Something that had been discussed since my joining Clockwork in 2007 was the redesign of clockwork.net. In 2009 we finally made it happen. Probably the biggest single motivation for the redesign was to move away from the flash site and really use our content management system to it’s full potential. In addition we wanted to better integrate social media including the #clockwork twitter feed, revamped blog and better communicate our core capabilities.

From a design standpoint, we decided to shift from the primarily dark theme of the last site to a simplified look and feel with plenty of whitespace. However, we didn’t want to lose the personality of our last site, something that we decided to keep in the design details as well as bringing in profiles for the whole team. There are also quite a few gems sprinkled throughout the site.

The best beers, however, were those that we tasted together during several meet-ups throughout the year. All in all, there were 173 participants (89 that reviewed beer), 636 beer reviews, and obviously 52 local Minnesota beers tasted.

Or if you ever stop by Clockwork you can check out our “Green” conference room that Allen still considers a work in progress. You’ll be treated to devils, rats, mermaids and shark teeth just to name a few. The site is an attempt to capture a bit of Allen’s personality, but to truly let the work itself do most of the talking.
