The first trailer for the stage-to-screen phenomenon Rock of Ages has debuted. Tom Cruise (say… what’s your favorite Cruise movie?) gets his rock star on and from this sneak peek, it appears the man can really sing! Also released today from Warner Bros. is the first poster (below) for the film that also stars Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige and Alec Baldwin.

Rock of Ages opens on June 1 and is set in 1987 as two musicians (Hough and Boneta) meet in Los Angeles and try to make it big in the music business. The club that they play at, where their dreams are beginning to soar, faces an uncertain future as the super-conservative mayor’s wife (Zeta-Jones) is determined to shut it down.

Daniel Craig recently opened up about the pride of starring in the English adaptation of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.’ David Fincher has been responsible for the English version of the novel, which is the first book in the ‘Millennium Trilogy’ by Swedish writer Stieg Larsson.

Craig portrayed the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist, while Rooney Mara starred as hacker Lisbeth Salander. At the films European premiere, Craig admitted that he adored the book series and that he enjoyed working with Fincher.

“I’ve wanted to work with him since the beginning,” Craig said, speaking of Fincher.

Mara also took time to open up about her character, Lisbeth, with whom she says to have felt a deep connection with.

“She’s not like any other character I’ve ever read before,” Mara said.

The film features a cast of A-list celebrities including Christopher Plummer, Robin Wright, and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard. Skarsgard is most known for his role as Professor Gerald Lambot in the smash flick ‘Good Will Hunting.’ The movie was shot primarily at locations throughout Sweden including in Stockholm and Uppsala, as well as in Los Angeles, Switzerland, and Norway.

Tony Bennett will soon be listing his hand-drawn sketch of Lady Gaga on eBay.

The legendary performer drew the sketch of the “Poker Face” singer when the two were working together to record the song “The Lady Is A Tramp” for his ‘Duets II’ album. Lady Gaga revealed that it was photographer Annie Leibovitz who persuaded her to let Bennett draw the picture. The singer, reflecting, said that the two were to pose in a photo shoot for ‘Vanity Fair.’ When she arrived to the studio, Leibovitz told the starlet that she wanted her to appear naked in some of the photos.

“I was took off my robe and lady down,” Lady Gaga said. “Tony was standing there looking at me.”

Lady Gaga revealed in a candid feature that she fears dying like Princess Diana and has even written a song about the iconic Royal. She plans to feature the song on her next album. Gaga revealed that she has already chosen a name for the album and has begun writing songs for the LP.

Rolling Stone reported that Bennett will be listing the sketch on the auction site eBay in the near future. Funds raised from the sale of the sketch will go to charity causes founded by both Lady Gaga and Bennett, the Born This Way foundation and Exploring The Arts.

Lindsay was so upset about her purse for one reason. The reason is because she has a court date on Wednesday morning and, of course, her ID was in her purse which would cause her to be unable to leave Hawaii. We all know that if she does not show for court that is her one way ticket straight to jail no matter what story she may have come up with.

New Year’s Eve did what three weekend’s worth of movies could not: Knock off Breaking Dawn from the top spot of the box office sales chart.

A second movie even beat out the first half of the final chapter of the Twilight series as the Jonah Hill starring The Sitter came in second with $ 10 million in second place. Breaking Dawn still is chugging along as it came in third, adding another $ 7.9 million to bring its domestic total to $ 259.5 million.

The Muppets and Arthur Christmas continued to charm families and closed out the top five in that order. The Muppets banked $ 7 million as its total rose to $ 65.8 million. Arthur Christmas made $ 6.6 million for fifth place, although its domestic box office total is half of The Muppets at $ 33.49 million.

This weekend box office results showed a second week in a row with slow sales. Just a few weeks ago, Breaking Dawn opened to over $ 100 million. Meanwhile, this week’s top 10 totaled barely $ 66 million.

The slowing trend should reverse itself in the next weekend as the December blockbusters are upon us. Tom Cruise is back in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on December 16 on IMAX screens while Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows also arrives on that same day. The big mystery is which of those franchise will finish first. Stay tuned!

Little Mix were announced as the winner of this season’s ‘X Factor,’ becoming the first all-girl group to accomplish the achievement. The group defeated season favorite Marcus Collins for the win.

The group, consisting of Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson are extremely thankful that the team was brought together for the show’s boot camp after they were did not succeed as solo artists. The girls hail from the UK and range from 18 to 20 years of age.

The foursome was barely able to contain their excitement. Jesy thanked audience members and fans alike for their continued support of the band before adding, “This is never going to sink in.”

Runner-up Marcus Collins showed nothing but love and support for the girls, saying that he was really proud of himself. He went on to say that he felt the girls were amazing and hardworking performers who deserved the win. The performer also thanked his fans for their continued support.

Misha B was also a series favorite, but was voted off last week. Judges felt that their personal opinions and addressing complaints about the singer on air may have influenced fans and audience members to lose their interest in Misha.

This season’s run of ‘X Factor’ proved to be a trying one with Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland, and Louis Walsh serving as the panel judges. Gary became known for his snap judgements while Tulisa and Kelly were often squabbling over how each of the women addressed the series’ contestants.

Plan B has lined up a series of outdoor shows for Summer 2012.

The singer teamed up with Forestry Commission Live Music to schedule a series of outdoor concert dates around the country. The superstar has not released a new alum since 2010 and after much discussion of a film career, the concert tour announcement comes as a welcome surprise to fans. Plan B has managed to stay on the music charts with his album ‘The Defamation Of Stickland Banks’ and even nabbed a few awards in the meantime.

Plan B talked weeks ago of completing the album ‘The Ballad Of Belmarsh,’ which was originally intended to be a double album with ‘Strickland Banks.’ It remains unclear of when the album will be completed, but the rapper-songwriter has hinted at an expected 2012 release date.

Taking a moment to look ahead, the singer has said that he is excited to be taking his music into the woods. The Forestry Commission Live Music shows are a series of independent musical productions that take place in wooded areas across the country. Show sponsors themselves do not advertise or brand the show series and use funding from ticket sales to make improvements to local forests for both animals and humans.
