Today I want to share my personal opinion with you in terms of whether you should seek out a residual based program, a high-ticket business, or even both.

If you’re fairly new to online marketing/home-based business, then you’ll definitely want to read this all the way to the end.

Let’s get started!

Why You Should Consider a Residual Income Business

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with residual income. I will give you a few quick residual income samples:

1. Rental Property
2. Dividend Stocks
3. Membership Sites

Those are just a few examples.

The key to understand here is that residual income only works as long as people continue paying. This is why rental property is one of the best forms of residual you could have, because the average tenant is probably going to stay in a property for years in most cases.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the credit – or can even afford – to invest in rental property.

So what are some other ways to generate passive income in 2023 for the little guys?

Start a Network Marketing Business or a Membership Site

Right now I want to begin in terms of simplicity.

The most simple way to start earning residual in 2023 and beyond is with a Network Marketing business.

However, there are also residual-based affiliate marketing programs too.

In case you didn’t know, affiliate marketing is simply where a product or service provider allows YOU to promote their product and you earn a percentage of the overall sale. In essence, you are the “middleman.”

What differentiates Network Marketing from Affiliate Marketing is the number of levels in which you’re able to receive income.

With a network marketing business for example, you could earn a percentage of income on your entire organization – sometimes infinite levels deep.

So as you refer your first person, hopefully they will refer someone, and so on…

Eventually your organization could look like this:

With a traditional network marketing program you could earn a small percentage on all of these people’s productivity. (It starts off small and begins to grow exponentially over time.)

If you’d like to earn a percentage from the efforts of your entire organization you need a network marketing business with a good product.

This is what I recommend for anyone who wants to get healthy AND wealthy.

Affiliate Marketing is Different

With affiliate marketing, you can still earn a residual income.

But you are only able to earn two levels deep. (Many affiliate programs only pay you for the sales YOU generate – not your entire group.)

What I mean is this:

• 1 level affiliate = you get paid on your referrals ONLY
• 2nd level affiliate = you get paid on your referrals and whoever they refer – but no more than that.

This is why network marketing is better in the long-term if you want to earn recurring commissions from the efforts of others – which you should.

There are some great affiliate programs out there, however…

Remember, I am using residual and passive income both interchangeably.

In the event you have some special skill – or any type of knowledge – that other people would like to learn, you could create a membership site.

Running your own membership site could be highly profitable depending on how many ACTIVE members you can acquire over time.

Let’s say you have a membership site where you teach people how to play the piano.

Imagine now that you charge $50 a month for members to remain active to your training inside of the membership site.

100 active members would easily put you at roughly $5000 per month inside of your site.

However, there are billions of people using the internet.

If you take the time to learn how to advertise your membership site, I think it’s safe to say there are at least 10,000 people in the world who’d love to learn what you’re teaching.

This means if you had 10k active members on your site you’d be pulling in 50k per month or 600k per year passively. Whether you got out of bed in the morning or not!

There are lots of places online where you can purchase tools to start your own membership site.

If money is an issue this is the software that I recommend because it is less than $300 per year and it’s easy to use. Some costs hundreds of dollars PER MONTH!

Tip – You don’t have to charge a monthly fee. You could always charge an annual fee, so you can get paid in larger chunks. This way, you can charge more for monthly fee but give them an irresistible offer to pay you annually, by allowing them to save a lot more.

What is High-Ticket Sales?

Finally, let’s talk a second about high-ticket sales. Particularly high-ticket affiliate marketing.

Basically, anything that allows you to earn large commissions is a high ticket business.

If you sell real estate, you are in a high ticket business.

Deciding which type of program would be best suited for you depends on your situation.

Do you have experience?

Do you have a stable income currently?

Are you willing to see this through for the long-haul?

It’s important to determine where you stand before you make this decision.

One thing I ABSOLUTELY would NOT recommend to anyone without experience – is to try and promote more than one program at the same time.

If you don’t have experience you need to focus on just ONE thing until you start to get results.

Once you learn how to create results, you can take your newfound skills and apply them to other things. No matter what you promote, the advertising and marketing for the most part will remain the same.

The Pros and Cons of High Ticket vs Residual Based Businesses

Some of the pros to joining a high ticket business are:

• Lump sums
• Can afford to spend more on advertising
• You can survive longer in between sales
• Most people who show interest are far more serious

A few cons to joining a high ticket business are:

• Not as many people can afford to join
• You only get paid one time
• If you don’t keep making sales you will run out of money

Cons to joining a residual based business are:

• Initial commissions are usually pretty small (not even to live on)
• It takes a large team and lots of time to grow (usually 3-5 years)
• Many people get discouraged and quit before they get results (your business will have high attrition)

Benefits to joining a residual based business:

• Low startup cost
• You get paid over and over for as long as customers remain active
• If you enroll a “rockstar” your team can explode overnight
• Top earners in Network Marketing earn well over 6-figures per month (not typical… so don’t be typical!)
• Community and Support

In Closing…

My personal opinion is that once you’ve gained some experience – earned some money – and gotten comfortable with marketing, you should have a residual based business and a high ticket business.

Earning $1000 or more for what normally takes less than an hour of work is an amazing feeling. I love high-ticket businesses and will probably never stop promoting them.

But on the contrary, if you are determined and willing to work a residual business (which usually has a much lower startup cost) long-term and refuse to give up. Your MONTHLY residual check could easily turn into a high-ticket check of it’s own.

And let’s not forget – if you have some type of special skill or knowledge that you want to share with the world you could also create a membership website.

The choice is yours.

The moral to the story is that there is a world of possibility out there.

You simply have to decide what you feel is best for YOU and then go and put in the work.

Talk about long time no see!

I’ve owned this blog for almost 15 years and this is the longest I’ve ever gone without creating any content.

Since my last blog post I’ve:

• Gotten a Real Estate license
• Gotten a Degree
• Gotten three IT Certifications
• Started a new job working in IT
• Separated with my Ex
• Gotten even cooler than I already was (which was ice cold!)

Haha.

Now I’m not sure about the final bullet, but the others are all true.

During the course of the past three years I’ve learned a valuable lesson that I wish I’d embraced as a younger man.

Your Goals Don’t Care About How You Feel

Listen.

I’m not here to coddle anybody.

Or pretend to be something I’m not.

And if what I’m about to say offends you, I don’t know what to tell you.

But, your goals don’t give a shit about how you feel.

I used to be the type of person who let my feelings dictate how I was going to live my life for that day.

If I felt a certain type of way I may call off work.

Not go to the gym.

Refuse to work on my business, etc.

What I realized while I was in school in particular is that you just have to get shit done.

Otherwise, you’ll just be another statistic.

Embrace The Aging Process

Another thing that I’ve learned over the past 17 months is that we’re going to get old whether we like it or not.

So you may as well embrace the process.

For example, my shoulder hurts like a MOFO nowadays.

I hurt it in my teens and now I’m almost knocking on 50’s door. It seems to get worse every year. But what can you do, right?

As I’ve gotten older I’ve started to take pride in allowing food and non-alcoholic drink to be the only thing that I put into my body.

I’m still fat…lol.

But I can lose weight.

You can’t reverse the effects of abusing your body with chemicals and shit that weren’t meant to go in there.

Be good to yourself.

What I’m Up To Now

So now that my long hiatus is over, I plan to start creating some new content here on my blog.

I’ll still be doing program reviews and sharing other ways of making money online.

But this time around I want to share more of my journey.

I may even include some of the stuff I’ve learned in Information Technology over the years.

In terms of the online ventures I’m still involved with, I try to keep something to suit everyone.

So I have a low ticket business and a high ticket business.

I also recently joined a health and wellness company and so far I’m really liking the products.

My next blog post will go in more detail about it.

Today I wanna share something with you from the heart.

For the past 21 months, I’ve been in school for multiple things. I’m almost done with my Information Technology degree now, and last month I finished the coursework required to sit for my real estate license exam.

I’m currently planning on starting a Coding Bootcamp before I graduate in July.

As a result, I’ve completely neglected my online business ventures!

When you have too much going on it’s almost like you sometimes forget what works. You forget what was getting you results in the first place.

Sometimes I have so many good ideas for things I could be doing that I end up doing NOTHING.

For several reasons…

When you have a lot of ideas you have to be organized.

A short pencil is always better than a long memory.

Secondly, when you’re overwhelmed and have a bunch of physical and mental clutter, it’s just hard to focus on what’s important.

For the past 21 months, the only thing that’s mattered to me is finishing school.

My online business struggled big time because of it.

Sometimes we have to learn how to focus on nothing but the big picture.

The big picture for me was not just school itself. The big picture is developing the ability to start something and see it through – all the way until the end!

What’s My Point in All Of This?

Today I went for a walk for the first time since August 1st.

It was PAINFUL!

After I got done though I had more mental clarity than I’ve had in quite a while.

SIDENOTE: I’ve been doing calisthenics all month and they do not get your endorphins going like cardio. If you want more mental clarity, add more cardio to your workout.

When I got done (and could actually breathe) I had a euphoric level of mental clarity! So I decided to work on my calendar for the next 7 days.

Then I said to myself, “What can I EXECUTE on right now?”

So I decided to dig up some leads I had on my computer and send them some text messages to see if they’re still interested in making money online?

And guess what…. 3 of them said YES within 10 minutes.

In order to participate in the PayDay Secrets affiliate program, you first have to become a member.

All members must pay a one-time $259 fee to become an affiliate.

After you join the business you will receive your own personal affiliate link that you’ll share in all of your marketing efforts. This affiliate link is what will track your sales and allow you to earn those $259 commissions.

SIDE NOTE: You must also create an account with Twilio to set up the mobile opt-in system. Without this, your system will not function as intended.

What are the Products?

At times this can be difficult for a new person to explain…

Most 100% commission programs usually sell information products. This is typically information and education, mixed in with some personal development stuff.

HBA is an educational platform that teaches online marketing skills. It also has a compensation plan attached for anyone who decides to refer others.

They have weekly webinars and “over the shoulder” training sessions teaching new strategies and techniques as well.

Unlike many other programs, The Home Business Academy has a product that actually has value. If you’re willing to put in the effort and go through all of the courses you can learn a lot.

The HBA Products

The flagship product of the Home Business Academy is HBA Funnel Builder.

The funnel builder allows you to create your own webpages on the fly. Whether you’re looking to create a Lead Capture Page, a Sales Page, or even a Membership Site, it can all be done with the HBA Funnel Builder.

The funnel builder is only $25 a month and pays an 80% commission so for every customer you enroll with the tool you’ll earn $20 a month in residual income.

HBA Premium

The HBA Premium package is all about traffic and conversions.

It too pays an 80% commission so every upsell to FLA pays out a nice $400 commission. That’s in addition to the potential $120/mo residuals.

My Opinion on The Home Business Academy

All in all I like the program a lot.

Anyone who enrolls a few people and starts to receive those monthly residuals would probably feel the same.

But is there anything about the opportunity that could be improved?

Here’s my opinion.

The HBA Premium Package Could Use Some Updates

In my opinion, the problem with monthly fees is that most business opportunities do not frequently update their material.

As a result of this the products become stale.

If you’ve already gone through the products and gained what you need from them you eventually grow to believe that there’s no need for you to pay the monthly fees.

With the HBA Funnel Builder it’s different.

Once you start creating capture pages and sales pages etc., then you really don’t want to stop paying because once you do then all of the marketing that you put out there becomes inactive.

So you have a lot more “motivation” to continue paying your HBA membership.

My opinion is that they should add some high level training to the premium membership every month. That way those who are paying the monthly fee will have FOMO (fear of missing out) if they cancel their membership.

Perhaps even an additional piece of software that solves a problem for online marketers.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I like the Home Business Academy a lot.

Even if you’re not interested in HBA, as a bonus for reading this far you can check out my Daily Action Plan and get ideas on how to market whatever business that you’re in.

The owners are both great guys. In my personal opinion, I think that sometimes the ownership of these programs is more important than the program itself.

A feeder program is an inexpensive business opportunity that is used to help get people into your sales funnel or process. Once you’ve gotten someone into your feeder program you will then earn commission. However, the ultimate goal is to progress them through your sales funnel and enroll them into one of your higher paying programs.

You may also try to enroll them into a continuity program of some sort or purchase some type of marketing tools or even coaching.

Is Infinity Processing System a Scam?

It’s a business and it without question requires hard work and effort to get results.

The number one reason that I’ve seen in my 16+ years experience with online marketing is that most people underestimate the amount of work and skill required to make money online and then get upset when they don’t have it handed to them. Incompetence is not grounds to classify something as a scam.

Out of every 100 business opportunities online I would say that maybe 2 of them are an actual scam.

Do some programs have incompetent owners at the helm, of course. That’s no different than a job. Some bosses are good, some bosses… not so much.

What Most Don’t Explain Well Enough About IPS

The one problem that a lot of marketers never explain about Infinity Processing System (or any other business) is that you only have two options to make money.

Option One:

You can try to build your business for free without spending any money on advertising.

This approach requires much more time invested into growing the business, as you will be doing a lot of networking and prospecting.

The free approach also entails marketing strategies like video marketing, blogging, and classified ad sites. All of these work, but posting FREE classified ads has never worked for me personally. So that’s not something that I would even recommend. More so I just listed that as an example of a free marketing strategy.

Option Two:

Your second option is to get familiar with paid advertising strategies.

This method is a lot less time consuming but also comes with its own obstacles. The main being you have to put each lead generation source through an extensive vetting process or risk being ripped off.

Some of the common types of paid advertising strategies you might use are Solo Ads, Pay Per Click advertising, and Bulk SMS.

Of the three, my personal preference has always been Bulk SMS just because it is inexpensive and allows you to reach LOTS of people simultaneously.

I’ll share more advertising sources later but if you’re interested in a great SMS Marketing platform that I use every day I recommend taking a look at this.

• Bulk SMS
  
  At the time of this writing there are some major changes to the law taking place which is making it a lot more difficult to conduct bulk sms marketing. So I’m not sure how much longer this will be a viable solution for paid marketing but it has earned me a substantial amount of money over the years.
  
• Craigslist Ads
  
  A lot of people sleep on Craigslist because they don’t know how to post their ads the right way. There’s a science to posting on Craigslist and most people don’t follow the rules. Craigslist is another source that has earned me thousands of dollars in commissions.

• Solo Ads

My personal opinion is that the products could be a little better, but I’ve seen programs that cost 10 times what IPS costs that don’t have any products at all.

The one thing I’ve found is that if you’re only going to briefly dip your toe in and out of the water, you’ll probably never gain any real traction in your business by constantly switching up methods.

In this blog post, I want to share with you my own personal experience and give you my opinion on what I would have done differently in the beginning, had I known better.

The Grass is Never Greener…

One common misconception among human beings is that the grass must be greener on the other side.

However, my own philosophy is that most people just aren’t taking well enough care of their own lawn!

Here’s an example…

Joe Blow is in need of extra money. He decides to join XYZ company and is really excited by how “EASY” the advertisement said it’ll be to make $10,000 per month or more – doing little to nothing.

The problem is… once Joe Blow gets going he realizes that most of his friends and family that he’s speaking with are all saying NO to joining him in his opportunity. Of course, after (2) days of this … Joe decides that the business obviously doesn’t work, and has to be a scam.

The problem? Joe doesn’t know how to market.

This happens every. single. day.

Thousands of people. Probably millions… get mislead into opportunities under the premise that building a home-based business is “EASY.”

That all you need to do is write down a list of all your friends and family and expose them to your business and you will become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams.

Unfortunately that is not the case…

Once they realize that it’s not a lottery ticket (easy money) they decide to quit. Now it’s on to the next one. And in the process of finding another opportunity, they search for something that is easier to do… and begin the entire cycle all over again.

The Problem…

The real problem is not the opportunity in 99% of these cases. The actual problem is that most people are not willing to work on themselves in order to grow into the type of person they need to become to get results.

Very few people who join a home-based business join with the intention of sticking with it for more than a month or two if they haven’t gotten results.

Sadly, this is probably the greatest cause of failure in our niche because most simply lack the long-term vision, and the intention, to see things through until completion.

The majority have the mentality that they will “TRY” it for a few months to see if it works, and if it doesn’t they will quit.

The 3% who create fortunes online all have the mentality of someone who says to themselves, “I WILL… UNTIL!”

The Ant Philosophy

When an ant is out doing what it does, the concept of failure is non-existent. If an ant cannot find its way through something it attempts to go around. When it cannot make it around it will try to go over. If it can’t go over it will go under. So on and so forth…

Human beings however seem to have the mentality that if this doesn’t work I’ll just give up and try to find something that’s “easier.”

We’ve all been guilty of this…

However, at some point in our lives, we have to be willing to acknowledge the error of our ways, if we ever plan on rising to the next level.

Consider the Magnifying Glass

Remember in school what you learned about a magnifying glass? When we focused the magnifying glass on one specific location for a specific length of time it would begin to burn whatever it was fixated on.

The same concept holds true for any of the goals that we have for ourselves. If we could just simply remain focused on one thing until we got the result we were after.

Stopping and starting over again and again only leads to frustration. How could we ever develop the energy required to “start a fire” in our business, our health, or even our relationships with a scatter-brained focus?

We cannot. And we will not. Unless we REMAIN FOCUSED ON THE ONE THING.

In Conclusion

Take a moment and look back upon all the things that you’ve started and never finished. Now ask yourself, did I give my absolute best effort? More than likely the answer is NO.

More importantly, did you give yourself enough time to to learn and grow?

A lot of people know that the average brick and mortar business usually takes 5+ years in order just to turn a profit.

But for some reason people who start an online business expect that they should be earning a full-time income over the course of 30 to 60 days. It just doesn’t make sense.

Sometimes we just need to change our approach

Most people who fail in building a business online do so because of their fear of rejection.
