As I was browsing the web the other day, I came across Tech Pinas‘ post about a BlackBerry give away that he is hosting on his blog. Since I am a BlackBerry fanatic, the post got my attention and I continued reading. The mechanics mentioned writing a post about how BlackBerry helps me achieve my purpose in life or become a person of purpose.

Now that question made me take a double look and think. What is my purpose in life? What on earth am I here for?

Well, I am a stay-at-home mother of two girls, and I must say that I love being one.  I think I excel at it, too. So I believe that my purpose in life is to take care of my family.  But, how does BlackBerry help me achieve my purpose? How does BlackBerry help me in becoming a good mother?

Jeesh, this is hard. It could have been easier if I was working or if I had my own business, but being a mother?! I was already losing hope about joining this give away until..

I remembered using my BlackBerry  in searching for symptoms of Measles when I saw red spots in Kristen’s (my youngest) body in the middle of the night. Thank God for BlackBerry Internet Service.

I remembered using my BlackBerry to take pictures of Lara’s (my eldest) awards and sharing – and bragging about it – in Twitter and Facebook right after it was awarded to her.

I remembered using the WordPress App that I downloaded in my BlackBerry when I needed to jot down and make a quick draft about the activities that Lara and I did in her school’s field trip.

I remembered making Lara play with the games in my BlackBerry whenever she gets bored waiting for our doctor for their regular check ups.

I remembered using my BlackBerry to take videos of Kristen’s firsts, and yes, sharing them in Twitter and Facebook using my TwitVid App.

I remembered a lot about me and my BlackBerry. Who would’ve thought that a mother can get the most out of this smartphone?

So to the people behind this wonderful smartphone: maybe you don’t realize it, but you’re not only a big help to the working and the business class, but you’re also a breath of fresh air to mothers like me.

This has got to be one of the best photos that I’ve ever taken, not because of composition or technical reasons, but because it tugged my heart.

Awww.. so sweet.

It’s that time of the year again Ma. That time of the year where our kind gets greeted and treated a little differently than the other days. That time of the year where our strengths get recognized and admired.

Well, let me tell you what I think about you Ma.

I think you’ve been through so much and you deserve a better life. I’m just sorry that I didn’t get you that life. I’m sorry that I’ve been careless and didn’t think about the repercussions.

I think you’re also insane Ma. I think to still care for me despite my mistakes is really stupid. But you’re not me, so you stayed, and still loved me unconditionally.

I think you would’ve been a great teacher Ma. Everything that I know now, everything that I do now, I learned from you. I just wish that I can do the same with my children.

I know it’s cliche to say that I didn’t understand you before and I do now, but that’s the simplest and most appropriate way to put it. Now that I’m already like you, I can already feel your happiness, your heartaches, your pain, your fears. It’s like I’m living your life, all over again.

But I won’t give up, just like you. I will hold on and be strong, just like you.

You deserve the highest salutations if you ask me.
