Rhian – you write wonderfully! But why not be honest with yourself and admit that you are not made for the sea? You would be much happier in a "normal" or "alternative" life with phone, freezer and all these good things – go for it, life is too short to be unhappy

I don't love sailing, a bit like I don't love driving, (in fact I like it less than driving), but I absolutely love the freedom, the independence, the amazing weird places you can end up, the cool people you meet, and some of my best memories are in the middle of the ocean. I also know some very good passionate sailors who are brilliant people but don't really care at all about the things I get out of it, they just like the sailing. It takes all sorts and maybe it works best when you have both sorts working together to get the most out of a trip.

Hi Andy and Rhian, don't know if you remember us but Pauline, my wife, is your dad's cousin and we met at your Gran's funeral. Went over to see your Mum and Dad, just a few weeks ago. Pauline and Yvonne went walking whilst your Dad and I went to the ski show at the NEC. They told us about the blog and it has been great reading about your fantastic adventure! Would love to do something like this, but after 10 months and 20000 miles on our last European campervan trip, I don't think there is much chance of getting Pauline in a boat! Lot's of love to you both and hope we meet up again in the not too distant future, Dave and Pauline

hi,,,a great bit of writting,from someone who challenges their fear,,whether it is for love or personel advancement,it really makes no difference,, it is hard for us that can to truely understand those that have to fight so many feellings to be beside us,,,my question is ,,do i show your post to my partner or let her go into our voyage with what we call ''ignorant bliss''.?
