“rhubarb” Henley in partnership with Hedsor House hosted a fabulous cocktail and canapé party on Thursday 24^th May 2012 to showcase the stunning country venue and to launch “rhubarb’s” 2012 Christmas Collections.

The evening was a great success, with the spectacular grounds offering the perfect backdrop for the event. Entertainment was provided by singing sensation Georgia Buchanan and bespoke music talent agency Eightray Music. Beautiful floral arrangements were supplied by Ruby & Grace and lighting was supplied by Class Act.

“rhubarb” cater for the stars at the BAFTA Television Awards

Last night, Sunday 27^th May 2012, the stars of British television gathered at the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank for the annual TV BAFTAs.

Catered for by “rhubarb”, the guests were treated to a selection of canapés at the start of the night, including deliciously refreshing compressed galia melon with Parma ham powder, which was very popular in the early evening heat, and wild mushroom tarts with enoki and chervil.

Following the reception, the awards went without a hitch, with stars such as Dominic West and Graham Norton picking up awards for their recent TV performances. After the awards, guests moved to the dining area where dinner was served. Our BAFTA menu consisted of:

Starter: New season’s asparagus, toasted hazelnuts, honey and mustard dressing, with parmesan creme caramel

Main: Roasted breast of free range chicken, potato gnocchi, baby broad beans, summer chanterelles and English pea velouté

Vegetarian: Salt baked celeriac creamed spinach, courgette flower with pea purèe, roasted tomato and cep jus

Pudding: “rhubarb’s” Milk Chocolate Popcorn Sundae; milk chocolate malt mousse, caramel popcorn with popcorn sorbet.

From 30th May 2012 – 10th June 2012, “rhubarb” restaurant & bar in Heathrow’s Terminal 3 will be treating diners to a traditional Afternoon Tea, featuring delicious slender sandwiches, tiny couture cakes and scones with clotted cream and preserves, all accompanied by a cup of our finest tea. And to truly celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in style, why not raise a toast with a glass of champagne to top it all off?

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes visits the Royal Albert Hall

The women of the NFWI, who will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Most People Knitting Simultaneously, are visiting the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 30^th May for their annual AGM.

We wish them the best of luck with breaking the world record, and hope that they enjoy the evening put on for them at the Hall, from the fascinating speakers and entertainment, to the wonderful food and beverages provided for them by the venue’s elegant and varied restaurants; whether it be the relaxed brasserie style Café Consort or the stylish and contemporary Coda Restaurant.
