A devout Roman Catholic, Pacquio is now taking on a new phase of his religion as he hums a deeper religious tone. From his usual chanting lines of “ we should always pray” to “we should always read the Bible.” It sounds as if he’s into an in-depth spiritual search. Unlike any other boxer, Pacquio shows his religiosity during his every fight, he would be seen with his rosary on his neck and remove it before the start of the fight. Then he would kneel down on his corner to pray. When the announcer started announcing his name, he would raise his globs in a gesture of dedicating his fists to the Lord above. These are his religious ritual inside the ring which is typical of him compare to other known world champ ever lived. But just like other religious individual he has also a share of spiritual loopholes and weaknesses.

During an interview with his wife, Jinkee Pacquio by one of the hosts in “Star Talk” GMA 7 on January 21, 2012. Jinkee was delighted to announce Manny’s changed habit who is now fashioning a new life. He has finally given up his drinking spree and womanizing. She discloses that instead of being with his Team Pacquio he stays at home and play with his kids most of the time. He is giving more priority now to bonding with his family. He seems to avoid going out with his team these days unlike before when he frequently hangs out with them for drinking spree. As earlier rumored, they were bound to separate and Jinkee admitted, she has warned Manny that she and the kids would leave him if he won’t give up his vices. She already made an attempt to distance herself from Manny, She would leave with the kids when she knows that he would be arriving home and come back home when she knows that he has already left. According to her there are some petty quarrels between them but she always the one who gives in. In recent serious marital problem when she hadn’t anymore bear the heartaches and pain she brought the matter in prayer and Manny’s new life is an answered prayer for her. These days they make it a point to read the Bible daily. Thus “read the Bible’ becomes a constant reminder from Manny Pacquio’s lips.

Christian way of welcoming the New Year's Eve

I had the chance to attend the Christian’s praise and worship during the New Year’s Eve that was the evening of December 31, 2009 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia along with Christian’s OFW. We were advised to fast for the whole day prior to the welcoming of the incoming year of 2010. We spent the first two hours with prayer of thanksgiving, song of praises and reading the Word of God (The Bible). Upon the onset of the New Year’s Eve, we started the litany of declaration of God’s promises in the Bible; good health, material blessing, wisdom and good stewardship on our part. Then, we anoint every belongings we had these are our wallet, job certificate, health certificate, the babies and every things that is dear to us. We ended the evening worship with song of praises and prayer. After that, we had the long table for light meal to signal the ending of our long hours of fasting. That was a very unusual experience on my part. My short stay in Riyadh had strengthened my faith in the Lord. When I came home in the Philippines, I still have the memories of Christian’s way of welcoming the New Year’s Eve.

The year had past with fresh memoirs of my stay in Saudi, I made it a tradition on myself to conduct the same activities during the New Year’s Eve. Locking up myself in my room and reciting the Word of God while declaring His promises for His people. That was the year of 2011. As I review my life for the previous year, I was stunned to reckon that all those declaration I made have come true. God is true to His promise.

Glad to be reunited with my blog. I'm back in the country after my almost a year of stay in
Saudi for a visit to my daughter's family. My daughter has given birth to her first baby last year and she had me stayed with them to care for my grandchild. It's a blessing to see an offspring added to our family. It's a healthy baby girl and she is cute. My son-in-law has to sponsored me for a visit in Saudi so both of them could manage to work while the baby is left to my care at home in their rented unit along with other Filipino families living in the same roof with each occupying a unit.

I have so much to share with the profound experiences I had during the long months of my stay in the restricted country but such was exactly an opposite of what had been viewed in my mind. Living with fellow Filipinos has a greater advantages from day to day of rubbing elbows with the same cultural set of people. We were enclosed in the big mansion house on the first floor of the building, sharing foods, personal belongings of whatever they can share. Once in a while we hold a big outing or taking a time out where we meet the vast variety of races . Saudi is a melting pot of different people from west to east; the Asian, European and African.

My son-in-law has just amazed me to have learned Arabic in just a short time of his stayed in Saudi. It's not a big deal though since learning Arabic is a must for those who have the working visa and is under a working contract for a number of years.

So much of the theses experiences today. Guys you can share your own experiences with the country. Do you have any comment?

Satellite TV to replace the Cable

I have a problem lately with the service of our cable TV. There are few channels I can view and mostly the programs are replays. I thought I’m not getting the true value of the monthly billing I’m paying for. My friend has a suggestion; I should replace it with satellite TV. I think satellite TV is a better option but before I decided on it, I sought for other advice and be familiar with the updated technology. I came up with these tech helps; before you can receive the satellite TV programming or other calls it the Direct TV you will need the satellite TV dish, satellite TV receiver and remote control. But this will not be a problem because most satellite TV companies provide these equipment upon signing up for one of their programming packages with free installation.

In US satellite TV has been around since 1994 and has more than 15 million subscribers in one company alone. There must be a good reason why cableTV viewers are switching to Direct TV . With regards to picture quality, the satellite TV has a clearer pictures unlike in the cable tv. Most channels in the cable tv are a converted analog signal and analog often has a fuzzy pictures. Another thing is, the satellite TV carries more channel line-up and has a cheaper price subscription. My relatives in California have been enjoying this Direct TV CA viewing for more than a year now.

Middle East-a haven for Overseas Filipino Workers

The present global recession has an adverse impact on the employment status. It has caused workers’ displacement and indefinite freeze in international hiring mainly in America and Europe, but not in Middle East Countries which remain a consistent haven for international manpower most especially for the Overseas Filipino Workers. Philippines is one of the biggest supplier of manpower to the world. You can find Filipinos anywhere in the world as workers, businessman, artists, performers, professionals and sportsman. The bulk of Filipinos workers are dispersed on Middle East countries; in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain where they have a continuous demand for both laborer and professionals.

Next to their nationals, Middle East countries would prefer Filipino workers to hire as their trusted employees. Filipinos are most loved for their dedication to their work, capabilities and adaptability. Most commentary says that Filipino workers do what they are told to do and even exceed to what they are expected of them, but the bad side is they are easily rattled when pressured to their work.

I found it exciting to see a lot of Filipinos in every place in Riyadh. When we went to the mall, I found Filipino salesclerks and some are store managers having a subordinate of different Middle East nationals; the Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Tunisian, Pakistani and Yemeni. In hospitals, most patients would ask for Filipino nurses. Both government and private hospitals are packed with Filipino nurses and they are smart and accommodating, easy to deal with.

When you are making a call to a company here in Middle East be sure to start with asking the receptionist if he or she is kabayan (fellow Filipino). If she affirms back that she is then you can be assured of a smooth conversation or perhaps a little tips and help they can provide. I’m proud to find out that Filipinos are becoming to be known in other field at professional level and starting to stave off that domestic maid labeling.

Global pandemic for swine flu-nothing to fear about

Philippine Health Department allays the fear of people for swine flu or the A(H1N1) virus despite the declaration of global pandemic alert by the World Health Organization. Though there was a continue increase in the number of A(H1N1) cases in the country still the Health Department remain consistent in reminding the public that there is nothing to fear. This does not mean that the DOH is not serious in eradicating the globally fast infecting disease. The disease it says is less harmful than SARS and bird flu although there was already one reported case of death from A(H1N1) virus the cause of death however was heart disease rather than swine flu.

The disease alert level 6 declared by WHO does not reflect the severity of the illness but indicative of the rapid rise in the number of cases being affected. Meanwhile in Manila, due to the continue and fast spreading of the disease in Metro Manila it is looming to rise to level 3 the medication responses from it’s present level 2. This means that DOH will no longer need the contract tracing anymore wherein the individual who has a suspected history of exposure is given a troth swab. It may also declare Community outbreak of the disease in Metro Manila. In this case the DOH will no longer handle the medication response alone. There would need the support of the community worker of every baranggay to handle the prevention and medication process.

The present cases of A(H1N1) has reached to 861 that place the Philippines to the 10th country with the most number of virus cases in the world, however the reported cured or totally healed were more than 600 and no reported case of death cause by the said virus. The DOH announced several causes of possible death among those infected by swine flu. Some of this cases are those with the following history of sicknesses; diabetes, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, liver disease, prohibited drug user, cigarette smoker and cancer patient. The H1N1 virus has no known cure yet. The public are only advised to take precautionary and preventive measures to avoid being infected with the said virus. Some of these preventive measures is the regular practice of personal hygiene; Wash hands with soap and water before eating, cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing, avoid close contact with person who has flu, have a daily in take of vitamin A,C and E.

For those who thinks that he has contacted the said disease is advised to undergo self-quarantine which means he would have to confine himself to his room, avoid contact with member of the family or else maintain a 6 feet away contact. Have a separate use of personal utensils. Take more liquid and vitamins.

Goodbye to Kodachrome-Kodak phasing out its color

Sad to know that Kodak is taking the kodakchrome away. Kodakchrome is a slide film which is rich in color and clarity. It has given life to important occasion and documented historical events since its introduction to the market in 1935 and it is just that finally, phasing out of existence.

Kodak says that supplies of its last batch of slide film which is now being manufactured in Mexico will last until fall. The popularization of digital camera in the world market is killing the sales of kodachrome and Kodak has no way to decide than to let it go.

It's a little dissapointing for the traditional photographer who love challenges of manipulating those analog and mechanical SLR cameras of long ago, that requires adeptness and expertise to play with lights and color provided by knowledge of camera function and brightness and clarity of film. These what make photography more exciting. Your creativity is largely enhance as compare with using the digital cameras.

Internet sex scandal is drawing more attention from different sector of Filipino society when news on Katrina Halili’s sex video broke out. It seems a wake-up call for Philippine Congress to enact a law that punishes a person who would purposely upload sex video in the internet without the permission or beyond the knowledge of the persons involve. It’s a blatant deception on the part of the woman that after putting her full trust on her loved one, she would find herself a victim of sex exploitation that of taking a video of supposedly private affair the same was circulated in the Internet to the detriment of the woman. This evil act is a clear demoralization of the woman\s reputation and exposing her privacy to shame and public disgrace. May all woman be warned on this Internet sex scandal and take precaution in giving in to sexual intimacy with your loved one whether you have known your boy friend for a long time or not.

With Hayden Kho, a doctor from whom Filipina actress Katrina Halili had a relationship for three months, Katrina was not aware of such video camera which Hayden Kho had installed prior to their bed affair. After breaking up with Hayden Katrina was informed months later that there was this sex video uploaded in the Internet. The rumor about the said video was pick-up by media and the poor Katrina has started to be crammed with inquest about the controversial video. The sex video was believed to sneak out from Hayden’s file by his buddies and was uploaded in the Internet giving a free access for others to download it. The worst thing is it has proliferated the market, which was being pirated and sold at a little higher than the bargain price.

This is not the first time such exploitation among women has been committed, there were a number of cases victimizing an ordinary women but was not given attention. The problem is, there was no law governing electronic such as internet, cellphone and others. The celebrated case with that of Katrina may also pave a way for women to be extra careful in indulging on free sex and experimenting for camera adventure

My first fascination of the lamps and chandelier came about during my college years when I was shopping for a desk lamp to be used for my study table. Attractive colors and design produce a significant alertness and concentration during my study hours. But as I go along continue being fascinated with lamps I become more adept in choosing for a more appropriate lamps to buy. Shopping for a desk lamps calls for technical matters to consider as according to your preferences; the wattage, voltage and brightness. These are things to look for in buying an appropriate desk lamp.

Other types of lamps could be an added attraction in the interior of the house. For instance the table lamps, floor lamps, hanging lamps, lamp posts are good replacement for chandelier or an added eye catching view inside the house.

Interior decorating is one of my passions and lamps are some pieces of fixture that enliven the house while it provide a proper illumination.

Beware of Salmonella Organisms

Salmonella organism believed to be the culprit in a series of product recall of several canned and a bottle goods being sold in groceries around the world.

A few weeks earlier, the U.S. has recalled pistachio products which were found to be contaminated with Salmonella.

In the Philippines, the bottled peanut butter from Samoya factory were found to be contaminated with Salmonella. Until now, the said factory is undergoing its several testing and checking up of workers factory environment, its machinery, the water and raw materials it uses. Some of the results were already released. Over all the public is being warned of the Salmonella infection.

What is Salmonella? - It is a genus rod-shaped bacteria. It has more than 1,500 species which have been identified usually isolated from the intestinal tract of humans and animals. When it attacked the human system, it will cause gastrointestinal tract diseases known as Salmonelloses, which shows symptoms of mild fever, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal cramps to life-threatening situation which happens if the bacteria cause excessive dehydration or able to spread to other organs. Outbreak occurs when meat of animals bearing a strain of Salmonella is eaten by human. Other forms of Salmonella infection maybe caused by improper food handling in unsanitary condition. The best way is to have the meat cooked properly and always wash hands before picking up or touch any foods to be eaten.

The Earth Day influence is now global. The observance of Earth Day was primarily intended to inspire appreciation on the environment and heighten awareness to care for our earth. This year observance is a one hour darkness at night. The call for the people on earth to turn off light for one hour, a concerted actions could save more than 60MWh or its equivalent of one hour shutting down a coal-fired power plant.

This might have a little effect on the energy saved to combat global warming. But the action could generate a positive feedback and inspire more million people to support and act to save our environment.

Fire Prevention Month- aim at safety awareness

March is the declared month for fire prevention in the Philippines. But it doesn't mean that we only have to observe fire safety only during this month. Setting a specific month for fire prevention is aim at awareness of the hell result of fire in our life. Fire causes us to lost everything we possess including life. Days running from March to April are considered the hottest days of the year and during this month usually occur the biggest fire outbreak. It is mainly the reason why we should extra cautious and aware of fire safety on these days. There is no better way to prevent fire than to observe fire safety precautions. There are number of things recorded as the cause of fire outbreak. Also be aware of the safety precautions. Most fire happens at home so watch out.

Faulty wiring -

1. Check for the overloaded outlets with plugs from refrigerator, tv, stove, computer, printer, stereo etc.

2 Also check for the loose frayed cords or plugs.

3. Always replace those electrical appliances that sparks, emit a burned smell or overheat.
4. Don't run electric wires under rugs or carpet.

5. Don't attempt to fix electrical fixtures by yourself. Have it done by a professional electrician.

Unattended lighted candle, cigarette and mosquito coils

1. Bear in mind to put out properly or extinguish the lighted candle and cigarette before going to bed.

2. Don't kindle a cigarette when you are drunk.

3. Place the mosquito coils on a tin base away or keep off from touching bedding, carpet or any materials that easily catch fire.

Gas stove- Leak from LPG tank.

1. Make sure to close the gas tank tightly after using the stove.

2, Check for any leak gas. If you smell a leak gas within the kitchen just don't start to kindle anything or plug any cord. Open the window and door to effect ventilation. Check the leak from the hose by running a soap sud, an air on soap sud
means there is a leak.

Keep the fuel, matches and lighter off from children.

1. Keep those fire hazards like matches and lighter from high places or out of reach by children.

As much as possible install a fire extinguisher at home.

Fire Safety and Things to do

1. During the fire outbreak, if the cause is from electrical fixtures or faulty wiring, immediately put down the safety electrical box to cut off electricity inside the house.

2. If the fire is just starting to rise up, it is easier to put out fire using a wet blanket or clothes than directly throwing water on it.

2. In case a victim is trapped inside the room, open the window for escape or call help from the outside. Sealed the door by tape or wet cloth covering all holes and spaces from the door to prevent the smoke from coming in.

3. If the house has been engulfed with smoke, hold your breath, or breathe on your shirt or wet towel. If you need to brazen through the flares, move quickly by dropping your hands and knees and crawl with your head covered with wet cloth materials. The tendency of the smoke is to goes up so keep your head down.

When caught by fire- There are three things that you should do

1. Stop

2. Drop on the ground

3. Roll around.

Fire hazards Areas

In the Philippines, big fires often spread quickly in slum areas because their houses are usually made of light and combustible materials, mostly congested and with narrow street which slows down the entry of firetrucks.

Also one thing to caution are those that shows antiquity and aged houses, old factories and buildings which have no regular and proper maintenance. Those that do not have an automatic or updated security and safety equipment.

Slippers on Fashion this Summer

Suddenly slippers become a fashion footwear especially this summer. Slippers are used to wear when going to beach and pool, but not anymore, a lot of companies have ventured on producing fashionable slippers that can be worn anywhere including mall, offices and school but of course on instances if you are not attending a regular work and school classes where there is prescribed attire and uniform to follow.

I once frequented a mall located in business center in Makati City that has a post reminder on its entrance door, " No shoppers on slipper are allowed to enter the square mall". Is this some form of discrimination? No of course, what they refer to are those bystanders and cigarette vendors around the building that enter the mall. The mall is frequent tourist hive and the administration of the mall are just concern of the convenience and safety of the tourists and their belongings.

Nowadays, you can't just scoff on those slippers that proliferate the market considering it price and style. The Havaianas for example has a command price of $22. dollars on average. Wow, that's almost the price of a comfortable rubber shoes. With this price I was thinking that there should be valuable things in it that makes it pricey. Besides the materials that were used in it, which is made of rubber sole and PVC upper, the art works was applied on its platform consists of colorful designs. And yes, it has hit the upper class and the Hollywood famous glamour centric; Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz. From then on it has established a trend and has blown it's name all over the world.

Lead Content on Havaianas Slippers

Lately the U.S. has recalled those Havaianas flip flop slippers for junior sizes or those used by 10 years and below because of the excessive content of lead that is harmful for children. The government announced its concern for the possible intake of these lead by children if they happen to put those slippers in their mouth.

In response, the distributors of the Havaianas around the world have acted favorably by pulling out those batches of particular slippers mentioned in the news. In the Philippines the Havaianas distributors have scissored those pulled-out slippers, making sure that it won't have any chance of putting those batches back in the market.

So far the news have made an advantageous feedback on Havaianas, it has called the attention of other people who have not aware of such brand. Francis Magalona was given a Posthumous recognition

Francis Magalona, known as the Pinoy Master rapper was given a Posthumous recognition. His family led by his wife, Pia Magalona received the Presidential medal of merit on behalf of her late husband. The recognition was personally handed to them by no less than the President herself, her excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo this morning at the Malacañang Palace. Also present during the recognition are the Francis' buddies in his ten years stay in "Eat Bulaga" noontime show, consider by Francis as his second family. The Presidential medal of merit was given in recognition of the many contributions he has made in music, arts and entertainment depicting his genuine love for his country.

His legacy in music will forever stay in the hearts of most Filipinos. Francis or Kiko has lived a good example of a patriotic Filipino and a morally upright youth while exhibiting his multiple talents that enliven the realm of arts and entertainment.

Economic stimulus package - gearing to recovery

With Economic stimulus package being put in place, Fed chairman Ben Bermanke is optimistic that recovery start next year. Though there are still some obstacles that has to be met, the groundwork for recovery are being laid to counter recession. In an interview, Bermanke pointed out that key to full recovery is the stabilization of bank. The Economic stimulus package includes extending of bail-outs to failing banks but in the case of the Lehman Brothers which the government failed to bail-out yet saved the giant insurance (AIG) American international group from total bankruptcy. Between Lehman Brothers and AIG, the government chose to save the giant insurance because of its sufficient assets to post as collateral. It has a huge insurance operation that they can sell off to repay the government

This Monday, banks show bounce of stocks an indicative that Bermanke optimism propelled the flow of stock market. Though it is still on the volatile stage, where stocks slipped for one day and recharged the following day. Overall , more positive analysis of the situation could boost further the continues climb of stock market. Blog surfing - a fun adventure

How I like spending my time leisurely on blog surfing, it's a fun adventure I tell you. I do this while dropping my cards on those popular blogs and those which graphics' ads caught my attention. When I'm not pressured to complete my dropping quotas for the day, I take my time absorbing those how to do things instruction of customizing blogs. Sometimes I stayed on the blog for long time unmindful of the hours. Then I'll start cramming for the next blog, knowing the sun has set in. Those personal blogs is really enjoyable and could lift my spirit sometimes especially when it involves family and relationship or could carry myself sympathizing with the blogger, when she divulge some misfortunes in her life. Places which I dream to see, I just have to content myself on images I bump on the blogs, its giving me the details and it satisfy me. Those mouth watering recipes really heighten my hunger, if I don't think that it's only an image I would have devoured it already.

But sorry for those blogs that are taking a long time to load, I really have to skip them. Too many images are cramming the whole page and I don't pick any substance in it anymore. The 300 card drops are too much for me. I can only make an average of 100 a day and find other source of traffic; the search engine, social networking and friends. So far my alexa traffic rank has reached the 200,000 mark, good enough I'm satisfied in it.

I've been following the number one noontime show "Eat Bulaga" since they started paying tribute to Pinoy rap music icon, Francis Magalona or fondly called "Kiko" to his colleagues in the movie industry and to his million of fans. Kiko died of leukemia on March 6 at 12:00 at the age of 44 after a long months of battle. He filed an indefinite leave of absence from his colleagues in the noontime show, when he was detected of the dreaded disease on August, 2008. The ever jovial guy has never shown any tinge of fear nor sadness during his long months of undergoing treatment. He was even optimistic and assure his fans that he will come back in the show by God's mercy.

This guy has left the Filipino people many fun and beautiful memories of him. He will be remembered for his many contributions in the realm of arts and entertainment industry. He was a musician, composer, actor, director, photographer, graphic artist, emcee, body tattoo painter, mtv vj and singer. To his family; he was a loving husband and a doting father to his eight children. To his friends; he was an ever loyal, loving and caring friend. To his countrymen; he was a patriotic, nationalistic and dedicated citizen, a true Filipino by example. I was touched by those words that described of Kiko from the lips of people who have met and known him for a long time. Here are some of them:

"Despite his failing health condition when he was in a hospital and watching me on our noontime show he still manage to text me and praise my outfit"

"When he is talking with somebody, his focus is on the person he is talking with. He shows his interest in the person. He never brag about himself."

His daughter says Kiko would remind her " Don't waste your time on things you don't like to do, but rather do the things that you like and give your passion on it 100%"

Kiko's colleague says " Despite his hectic schedule on secular activities he has time for spiritual thing and manage to gather his family during meal time. He is one of a kind. "

His friend in the industry described Kiko as a person with genuine artistry. He never follow the trend. He create his own and stand by it whether the people accept it or not, but since he put his passion for everything he does, it never met any rejection."

When Kiko joined the camera club of Philippines, a prestigious group of professional photographer, he has garnered awards even during his early years in the group. He has already shown a remarkable touch of professionalism on his early works.

Even before his time of repose his face looks boyish, always wearing a smile and with an energetic voice. But underneath he is a deep guy, passionate and convincing. Though he knows that he is dying and already accepted his end time on earth, he has managed to help his friend's arrange those musical number he would perform in the concert a week before his death. His passing hurt million of his fans, his comeback stage performance with his rock bank friend the eraserhead, never materialized. The show went on stage minus Kiko.

It's getting hotter these days as we are now in the first three months of summer season and April is the hottest. Beaches and resorts are starting to pick-up, more visitors are coming in. Beaches are the best places to go for summer hideaways.

As an Archipelago country, the Philippines is surrounded with many beautiful beaches with its long coastline that is twice the length of the United States, it is not surprising to have it tagged as the Asia's beach capital. The panoramic view of most popular beaches are really soothing and breath-taking, a perfect hideaways. The islands boast for its warm crystal blue water and white sugary sand as that of Boracay, located at the northwestern tip of Panay island in Western Visayas. Touted as the "finest beach in the World."

El Nido beach has the most beautiful seascape in Palawan province. The name itself was derived from Nido birds by which nests is the source of Nido soup a delectable soup that is mostly served in Chinese restaurant. El Nido is dominated with marble cliff which is the home to Nido birds. but more than this is its natural splendor.

Siargao - known for its curling waves that rises to as high as nine to twelve feet, a perfect attraction to surfers from all over the world. This island is known for its rural charm and an unspoiled beaches.

Pagudpud - located in the northern part of the Philippines is another destination for surfers because of its mighty waves and strong winds just like in Hawaii. With an inviting view of clear blue water and white sand.

No amount of recession could unfazed the celebrity fashions. I mean, when it comes to awards night celebrities splurge all the way enough to leave their audience awestruck that evening. The craze for lotto has shown a remarkable increase in number. The long queue of bettors in every lotto dealer have been apparent since last week in Manila. Valentine - a love season

Celebrating the Valentine's day is not anymore centered on feasting for the legendary saint from whom the name originated. It is typically enhancing what we already have within, the essence of Love. We celebrate Valentine as a love season. It's the time when one can demonstrate the love he feels and manifesting it through his care, thoughtfulness, affection, gentle human touch and sweetness. The 14th of February or the exact date for Valentine day has no significance after all since several occasions have already been held and booked ahead of the date. What truly important is the inkling to show one's affection and care. I heard about the mass wedding for police couples held this week. This were done not because of the shrink budget but for the fun memories of the occasion.

Also there was this picking-up of street people at the deep night, who were found sleeping on the sidewalk of Manila. Policemen have awaken them up and carried them off to the Department of Social Welfare, where they were billeted and fed with hot soup and clothed them with new t-shirts. The police authorities say, "that was their way of showing care to the homeless for this valentine season." While the Social Welfare Administration have set a way of returning them back to their homes or find ways to provide shelter for the homeless.

Romantic marriage proposal

This is also the season of showing romantic gesture for the love interest. At first I thought that Filipino romanticist is thinning in number, where most Filipino lover nowadays have already embraced the world's sickening trend for quickie sort of things; where most decisions were done in a hurry just like jumping headlong to romantic entanglement, where babies are made first before marriage. But that was not the case for some romantic couples. The media had picked-up, those a sweetie form of marriage proposal, something unique and endearing...really breath-gasping or how else would you describe it:

the boy friend proposed marriage to her long time sweetheart on top of the building. He invited his sweetheart to climb the rooftop and as he reach the hand of her girl to insert the ring in her finger, he proposed marriage. And of course to the girl's surprised, she has no idea about her boy friend's planned proposal. She was so ecstatic to accept the proposal

The long time sweetheart couple has been enjoying the fun of reading the billboard's ads along the road, every time they drive their way through the long highway stretch. Then at one time the girl was surprised to see their blow-up photo together pasted on the billboard and had a big caption of "Will you marry me?" Her boy friend had spent a huge sum to come up with a unique and endearing marriage proposal.

Yesterday night the network television, had the chance to catch glimpses of a grand marriage proposal by long time boy friend of the flight stewardess. As the stewardess alighted from the exit pass of the airport the boy friend meet her half-way and as they embraced , the symphony orchestra start off with serenade music in view of the public inside the airport lobby. Then her boy friend handed down a bouquet to her and declared his marriage proposal. The girl exuberantly accepted the proposal, beyond her wildest dream to experience such with no knowledge of her boy friend's grandiose marriage proposal.

Well these are proofs that Filipino man could still capable of being romantic in his own way. As part of commemorating this year love season, other group of people and organization are holding a party or a luncheon date not only for sweethearts but also for married couple who wants to rekindle their love. Show your love this Valentine.

Obama pan de sal - a gift to historic president

the only bread named after Barack Obama. Pan de sal is a national Filipino bread which is deliciously served hot from the oven. Barack Obama pan de sal made its debut last January 20 the same day of the historic presidential inauguration. It was reinvented by Filipino baker Wilma Fernandez Ventura the owner of "The Original Richard's Bakery", located in San Diego, California The Obama pandesal is made from 100% wheat flour and is available in two variations: the plain bite sized rolls and the buns stuffed with; chicken adobo, sweet peas, cream cheese, raisin and carrots.

Obama's pan de sal was unintentionally concocted, the bread rolls was left in oven ten minutes after the timer is off and the bread was roasted in tanned to brown, lean, compact...... a rightfully baked and healthy. In fact, the perfect toast. then Wilma exclaimed "it's Obama's pan de sal." To achieve the brown color of the bread she changed her use of regular flour to wheat flour, making it a really healthy bread that can stand on its own.

Obama's pan del sal is her gift to to historic president. As an avid follower of Obama ever since he was still a senatorial bet for president, Wilma was already thinking of how she could commemorate his rise in power as the first African-American president. But no idea yet coming her mind, until such oblivion incident of the bread in oven came about. Then at last, the Obama pan de sal was concocted.

This is one good thing happens sometimes out of serendipity. Then after holding her pan de sal debut, where she gave away dozens of boxes to her visitors and special guests, the Obama pan de sal became a boom.

Obama's memorabilia is growing hot in the market. Selling items that carries Obama's photo in it is making a brisk business across America. An online store was put-up by Presidential Inaugural Committee on December of 2008, that offers "official" Obama collectibles, which are mostly related to the inauguration. The government has spent million dollars for the memorabilia and there seems no hint of letting-up.
