Each of the domains are either housing other blogs that I attempt to keep up with, some are simply lying dormant and others were purchased based on ideas that I’ve had in the past, but haven’t gone back to actually push them into action.

My goal was (and still is) to build a solid online business through the art of blogging and niche/informative web sites that are designed to generate multiple passive income streams.  Well, some passive, others will be there to keep me busy when it comes to writing and keeping things updated.

The problem that I keep running into, is that I keep jumping from one idea/property to the other without giving the last one enough attention to actually grow.  I’ll spend a few weeks on one site and then grow frustrated only to go to the next, and essentially repeating the cycle over and over again.

Ultimately, this brings me to why I decided to write this particular post.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve held a seep passion for writing.  I was the odd kid that actually enjoyed writing essays and in my spare time, I wrote a ton of poetry and short stories.  Of course, nobody had really known a thing about blogging way back then and my notebooks have long been displaced or were simply thrown out, so all of that “work” has been lost over the years.

On this specific domain, which I’ve had since 2004, there have been countless reincarnations of what I would write here.  I started out writing a personal blog but I’m not one to share many stories, so that idea fizzled.  I moved on to technical blogging, which I’ve tried multiple times, but I don’t have a passion for technology blogging that is strong enough to keep up with.  I even tried “blogging about blogging”, but that market is overflowing so I essentially gave up and rebooted this domain as an online resume of my technical work and development efforts.

Heh…I even threw a blog on there.

Back to the discussion with my wife.  She mentioned last night that she tried to read my blog, but it was too…”nerdy”.  It hit home.  Not because I’m ashamed at being a geek – I enjoy technology, after all, I’m a programmer – but because what I was writing about wasn’t exactly going to change the world, and therefore, I was missing my purpose to help others.

Now, I’m not sure what to expect now that I’ve wiped the slate clean on this blog.  I’m still working on the other online properties that I have, so maybe this will simply become a bit of a sounding board on my work out there, in case others are interested.  However, what I’m doing, isn’t exactly brain surgery and there are a TON of other sites out there that cover what I”m doing in GREAT detail…Where do you think I learned about it to being with?

So who knows…I guess I’ll find out when something happens.
