I will win! Why? Because I have Faith! Courage! Enthusiasm!

Remember that line from The Company Man movie? Nope, this is not the same story as the movie. Thanks God that I've never been fired by anyone in my life. I quote that line as a reminder for me to keep my faith, courage and enthusiasm on whatever I do.

For you who read my post here, you'll find out how I love working at Wego for the last 6 months. Travel industry is fun yet full of competition industry. And for me, I was lucky to be part of an awesome company on its way to lead the industry. I'm happy to watch how Wego Indonesia has started to flap it wings ready to reach the sky high. I'm so proud of my short 6 months.

But I've decided to leave the den and work on something else. I have another journey, another world to explore, and another mission to accomplish.

It is never fun to leave something that you love, for whatever reason. So wish me luck guys!

My farewell email

Dear Awesome Team,
The Starbucks interviews was unforgettable for me. Lots of though questions asked me, and the toughest one is "What makes you proud of Indonesia?"...
For the last 6 months I've been working on something that I really like, with awesome team to support and great boss to learn and have beers with.
But uh .. This month will be my last month at Wego/HIQ. Effective Feb 27 I'll be working on something else. Therefor if there is anything that need to be done or prioritized by me (related to my role at Wego/HIQ) during the transition, please do let me know.

Awesome trip with small incident

Yay Jakarta!

I just arrived at Jakarta, the trip to India was really really really awesome! We had a lots of productive meeting for our SEO plan and also enjoy many delicious spicy Indian food ... Gonna missed that so much.

Bangalore, the only thing that makes me nervous is stray dog packs on the street. Barking and running around.

As planed before, I was spending my weekend in Singapore. Nothing much happened since the raining was pouring down the city all day long. The next morning, when I went to airport I left my wallet on the taxi :(
After I filed the report, I knew that I just can hope for the taxi company (SMRT Taxi Singapore) found my wallet and willing to send it back to me -please God- ..

So it was an awesome trip with -not really- small incident. Overall, I enjoyed the week so much!

India, Here I Come

Today I just sent my Indian visa application to Indian embassy in Jakarta. Yep, I'm going to India next week for collaboration meeting with HolidayIQ team in India. It's been a while though since my last business trip. And as usual, I always enjoy travelling.

Indonesia has been closely related to India for so long, in culture, economy and many other things. I believe that Indian people is the second largest non Indonesian population here in Indonesia after Chinese. And I have lots of Indian friend here, I remember my x Bubu colleague, Prabu or my close friend from Medan, Raja.

The Indian Visa cost about IDR 964.000

This time I will be visiting HolidayIQ head quarter in Bangalore. The silicon valley of India. I will be there for 5 days before spending my weekend in Singapore :D

Beside the meeting -ehem-, what I'm really looking for is curry.. Yum! Big fans of delicious curry. I can't wait for my this trip!

So, I'll see you guys in India next week!

Google Analytics Is Officially Updated

Google has rolled out the new version of Google Analytics and I just received the announcement through my email. Google said that the new version will make it easier for webmaster to browse their data. If you have activated the new version earlier, you might have already enjoyed these new features.

Real time reporting

You’ll find this feature on your Google Analytics homepage. The features will enable you analyze your website in real time.

Multi-Channel Funnels

This is one of my favorite, with this features we can see from which channels our customer are actually converted to goal. And you can also see how your channels contribute into the conversion. You’ll find really useful to track your online marketing performance or even preparing for a better one.

It is obvious –as @italogani said- that the future of internet is on mobile. And this new mobile reporting will help you understand how mobile visitors are interacting with your site. You can also get more insight on your mobile users.

Business page on Foursquare is still worth to manage

I know that some of you might think that Foursquare is so 2010 and it's not worth enough to manage.

Foursquare is a location-based mobile platform that help people to explore cities better. Finding lots of places, sharing their experience with certain places, and even write a review for places they ahve visited.

Have you check on Foursquare, big chance that your business has already there for so long even before you know it.

So, what is the advantages of having your business on Foursqure?

- Virality. The check in process allow user to share their check in on other social media like Facebook and Twitter.

- Get connected. If you're manager of your page on Foursquare, you can get connected with your visitors by starting campaign. It can be something like treating the mayor, or loyalty reward for people who keep checking in on your places. And other thing that can help you to connect with your visitors.

- Get insight. Find out who are checkin in at your place, their social profile, demography, and other data that will help you gathering insight of your market.

- Get suggested. Foursquare recently add this feature where users will get suggestion of places to visit based on their last check in. Will be great for business to get suggested to your customer.

Still in love with Posterous

If you ask me what is the best blogging platform available today? I will definitely said WordPress. Open source, plugins, themes, search engine friendliness, active support forums, etc. It is the best blogging platform available today!

Yet, my blog, this blog is hosted at Posterous. If you read my first post on this blog, the main reason why I hosted my blog here is because it's the simplest way to blog. You don't have to think about the theme configuration, there's no extra code, and you can forget about advance SEO configuration. And it's what I'm looking for. I don't want to spend to many times managing my blog, I choose to spend that short and valuable time to manage my other task.

Post from email

There's a day when I didn't open any other page beside my Google account; GMail, Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, Website Optimizer, and docs. And the way Posterous handle my emailed post, making it easy for me to write my post on GMail and send it to publish. It was fun!

So yes, I'm still in love with Posterous and not yet thinking to move my blog anywhere else right now.

Being #1 Is Not Enough

With the many changes happened on the SERPs layout, I don't think that the heat map illustration illustrate the current search users behavior. And also the "70% clicks happen on the top 5 search result" statement is not acceptable anymore.

Right now when user search for queries on Google, the universal search result will show maps, places, images, and videos that will definitely lowered the value of #1 trophy. And the search ad will make it even worst for SEOs.

Being #1 on SERPs is not enough. SEOs now have to think about how to keep generating organics traffics as it used to be by being the #1.

Title and Description

When your website included on a search result, you want to make sure that people who are looking on the search result are interested to click your website.
