I’m always on the lookout for a cute clutch. I usually carry a clutch in my book bag. It makes life so much easier for me. That way, if I want to go out after class, I can just pull out my clutch and I’m ready to go. I don’t have to worry about transferring bags or forgetting an essential item. It really works out well for me.

Well, for the umpteenth time, I’ve stumbled across the Michael Michael Kors studded leather clutch. Every time I see it, I think it is fantastic and perfect for me. I really have no idea why I haven’t already rushed out to get it.

 I love the vanilla color and the gold accents. I think it makes the bag cute and simple enough to go well with most outfits but also useful for nights out. It has a chain link shoulder strap that can easily be tucked away and it looks cute with or without the strap. It is 10.5”x5”x1.75” so it’s the perfect size to fit into my book bag.

Yeah, this bag is officially going to my back to school things to buy list.

Luxury Brand holder, Louis Vuitton, is suing eBay for $65 million. That is a hefty amount, wouldn’t you agree?

The company that represents designer handbag brands, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy, filed a complaint against eBay for not enforcing strict enough procedures to prevent the practice of counterfeit luxury goods. During 2001 and 2005, Bernard Arnault, the head of LVMH (Corporate Stock Issued Name), claimed that there was a significant loss in sales. LVMH believed that the reason for this loss was caused by the increasing sales of fake designer handbags. LVMH had been cracking down on this case for quite some time—whether it involved arresting counterfeit dealers, closing down warehouses carrying the counterfeit goods, or simply stopping counterfeits coming into the country at the ports, LVMH has investing a large sum of money trying to put a stop to the matter in hopes that their increasing number of sales would return.

Louis Vuitton is suing eBay for two very basic reasons. The first reason being that eBay shouldn’t have allowed for the selling of counterfeit products. And the second reason being that though some of the designer handbags sold on eBay were considered authentic, the bags must be sold through a licensed agency (specialized dealer). So, how does this affect designer handbag brand Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy?

With the combination of eBay’s low prices and millions of auctioneers every day, these designer handbags are priced too cheaply; therefore, hurting the reputation of designer handbag company, Louis Vuitton and its subsidiaries.

What do you all think about the new Chloe Cyndi Leather Tote, their new ‘It’ bag? It’s a 15.5×13′’ tote made of a soft alligator stamped leather, accented with utilitarian hardware that’s meant to give the bag an exotic but industrial feel.

I actually really like this designer bag. It just looks so simple but very classy and luxurious, much more so the the Cyndi Patent tote. I love the gray color with the contrasting gold clasp. Plus, it’s a great size, not too big and not too small, and it would fit everything a person would need with room to spare. This tote just seems like a great everyday bag.

I think Chloe did a pretty good job with this one so it gets an A in my book.

There was a time where shiny would catch your eye because it was the “in” thing. Anything flashy or shiny that would draw your attention was a must have because it was trendy and stylish. Well, those days are long gone now. Or is it? Rioni has managed to bring some of that charm back into their latest designs. Shiny leathers and synthetics have made their way into classic shapes and designs; the fusion creates a line of beautiful handbags. The Rosette Collection, the Primavera Collection, the Savant Collection, and the rare Aurora Collection all part of Rioni’s new shiny themed bag genre. I can’t wait to get my hands on that Weekend Pocketbook from their Primavera Collection. I am not really a big fan of the color orange but this one is just stunning!

Now and days we seem to like to dress up our handbags as much as we like to dress up ourselves. A very popular accessory for OUR favorite accessory is the scarf. Most of the time we know scarves to keep our neck warm in the winter, provide fun touches to our wardrobe in the spring, keep our hair back and hiding during our bad hair days in the summer, and we’ve even made scarves into handbags.

The trend now is, wrap it on your bag. You can purchase many of your designer handbags with scarves already on them. Gucci likes to use the scarf as a top trim over their straw bags. COACH, Burberry, and Hermes likes theirs tied to a certain corner of the handle.

Sometimes designers like to charge you those extra bucks just for the scarf. My advice, buy your favorite designer bag at the outlet. If you have the intention of accessorizing later with a scarf make sure to buy a handbag that is either all soft leather or a straw bag. These go best with scarves without overdoing it. After, you can find a pattern on a scarf you like rather being committed to the one the designers give you. If you want to stick with COACH or Burberry you can pick the pattern you like. Most designers will sell scarves separately. Who knows you might fall in love with one that isn’t. These of course can be purchased for a great deal…at an OUTLET (yes, I love my outlets). The only time I would suggest you buy the scarf with the handbag is if you want a handbag like Gucci’s Or Michael Kors where the scarf is woven into the straw trim of the bag. This my dear friends, will be harder to do by yourself.

Finally, the most common way to tie the scarf on the handle is either the typical bow or the one looped bow. I’m more prone to go the old fashion way of the bow, but either I think looks quite trendy. It’s best however to keep it one scarf per bag.

*Fun Tip*

A friend actually told me about this. She suggested and told me that she read somewhere that you can buy a silk scarf and wrap it around the leather handles of your designer bag. This will prevent the oils and dirt from your hands getting on the leather. The natural oils in our hands tend to age the leather a lot quicker. I was thinking about it and it wasn’t a bad idea. Plus, it doesn’t look like your bag is too over accessorized.

A lot of people are ridiculing Marc Jacob’s Rana Pouch. To be honest I actually like the styling of the bag. The Rana Pouch consists of soft plushy kangaroo leather embedded with a fairly large golden metallic frog. The word “rana” in Spanish literally means frog. But in order to adore this handbag, you must appreciate the simpler things in life.

What defines a simple handbag? Instead of answering that question, I’m going to tell you the components of an intricate handbag—this way you can distinguish between the two types. A complex handbag is bombarded with tons of glimmering hardware. Other complex bags consist of shiny materials (whether it’s constructed using vinyl or genuine leather). Basically speaking, many of these bags can be defined as having a “bling” factor to them. But to be honest, I’m getting tired of all the “bling;” I say pretty soon, this fashion statement will phase itself out of existence. Anyways, let’s talk more about the bag.

I think the bag is pretty cool looking. This designer purse by Marc Jacobs comes in a variety of colors (pink, black, lime green, mustard yellow). If you asked me to choose a color, I would pick the pink one. Don’t ask me why, I just like pink. Also, I like Marc’s idea of the shoulder loop functioning also as a closure for the bag. The overall design theory of this bag is unique and fun. In conclusion, I wouldn’t say this is one of the coolest bags ever made, but on Jen’s scale of coolness—I would give it 8 out of 10.

 Oh my. Give me a moment while I swoon a bit…

Gaspard Ulliel (what a hottie!) and Kate Moss are teaming up for the new Longchamp print ads. I don’t know what’s going on with my fascination with ads these days, but let’s just say that I’m a big fan of this one. I absolutely love the fact that despite the two very attractive models for the ad, my eye is still drawn to the designer bag. The models definitely don’t take away from the bag.

It’s like I’m swooning for two: for Gaspard Ulliel, one of the loves of my life, and for the fantastic oversized handbags these ads feature. I have to say, bravo Longchamp, for bringing together two of my favorite things about life, hot men and designer handbags.
