style="font-style: italic;">RipVision just find the release you are interested in and use the download link provided.

If you haven't already got one you will need a client we recommend µTorrent this will then open and start downloading your release, we also at this point would like to ask you to keep seeding any music you have downloaded for as long as possible, this is a small way in witch you can support the artist.

more detailed instructions on how BitTorrent works below:

BitTorrent Information
BitTorrent (BT) is a peer-to-peer (P2P) communications protocol for file sharing. The protocol was designed in April 2001, implemented and first released July 2, 2001 by programmer Bram Cohen, and is now maintained by BitTorrent, Inc.

BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data widely without the original distributor incurring the entire costs of hardware, hosting and bandwidth resources. Instead, when data is distributed using the BitTorrent protocol, recipients each supply data to newer recipients, reducing the cost and burden on any given individual source, providing redundancy against system problems, and reducing dependence upon the original distributor.

Usage of the protocol accounts for significant traffic on the Internet, but the precise amount has proven difficult to measure.

There are numerous compatible BitTorrent clients, written in a variety of programming languages, and running on a variety of computing platforms.

OPERATION

A BitTorrent client is any program which implements the BitTorrent protocol. Each client is capable of preparing, requesting, and transmitting any type of computer file over a network, using the protocol. A peer is any computer running an instance of a client.

To share a file or group of files, a peer first creates a "torrent." This is a small file which contains metadata about the files to be shared, and about the tracker, the computer that coordinates the file distribution. Peers that want to download the file first obtain a torrent file for it, and connect to the specified tracker which tells them from which other peers to download the pieces of the file.

Though both ultimately transfer files over a network, a BitTorrent download differs from a classic full-file HTTP request in several fundamental ways:

* BitTorrent makes many small P2P requests over different TCP sockets, while web-browsers typically make a single HTTP GET request over a single TCP socket.
* BitTorrent downloads in a random or "rarest-first" approach that ensures high availability, while HTTP downloads in a contiguous manner.

Taken together, BitTorrent achieves much lower cost, much higher redundancy, and much greater resistance to abuse or "flash crowds" than a regular HTTP server. However, this protection comes at a cost: downloads take time to ramp up to full speed because these many peer connections take time to establish, and it takes time for a node to get sufficient data to become an effective uploader. As such, a typical BitTorrent download will gradually ramp up to very high speeds, and then slowly ramp back down toward the end of the download. This contrasts with an HTTP server that, while more vulnerable to overload and abuse, ramps up to full speed very quickly and maintains this speed throughout.

In general, BitTorrent's non-contiguous download methods prevented it from supporting "progressive downloads" or "streaming playback". But recent comments by Bram Cohen and new developments by Red Swoosh suggest that streaming torrent downloads will soon be commonplace.

CREATING AND PUBLISHING TORRENTS

The peer distributing a data file treats it as a number of identically-sized pieces, typically between 64 kB and 1 MB each. A piece size of greater than 512 kB will reduce the size of a torrent file for a very large payload, but will reduce the efficiency of the protocol. The peer creates a checksum for each piece, using a hashing algorithm, and records it in the torrent file. When another peer later receives that piece, its checksum is compared to the recorded checksum to test that it is error-free. Peers that provide a complete file are called seeders, and the peer providing the initial copy is called the initial seeder.

The exact information contained in the torrent file depends on the version of the BitTorrent protocol. By convention, the name of a torrent file has the suffix .torrent. Torrent files contain an "announce" section, which specifies the URL of the tracker, and an "info" section which contains (suggested) names for the files, their lengths, the piece length used, and a SHA-1 hash code for each piece, which clients should use to verify the integrity of the data they receive.

Completed torrent files are typically published on websites or elsewhere, and registered with a tracker. The tracker maintains lists of the clients currently participating in the torrent. Alternatively, in a trackerless system (decentralized tracking) every peer acts as a tracker. This is implemented by the BitTorrent, µTorrent, BitComet and KTorrent clients through the distributed hash table (DHT) method. Azureus also supports a trackerless method which is incompatible (as of April 2007) with the DHT offered by all other supporting clients.

In November 2006, BitTorrent Inc. introduced its "Publish Torrent" service which creates and hosts a torrent file (seeded from an existing web-hosted media file), and tracks downloads. The service (http://www.bittorrent.com/publish) requires a client which supports web-seeding (currently only the official client, Azureus, and μTorrent).

DOWNLOADING TORRENTS AND SHARING FILES

Users browse the web to find a torrent of interest, download it, and open it with a BitTorrent client. The client connects to the tracker specified in the torrent file, from which it receives a list of peers currently transferring pieces of the file(s) specified in the torrent. The client connects to those peers to obtain the various pieces. Such a group of peers connected to each other to share a torrent is called a swarm. If the swarm contains only the initial seeder, the client connects directly to it and begins to request pieces. As peers enter the swarm, they begin to trade pieces with one another, instead of downloading directly from the seeder.

Clients incorporate mechanisms to optimize their download and upload rates; for example they download pieces in a random order, to increase the opportunity to exchange data, which is only possible if two peers have different pieces of the file.

The effectiveness of this data exchange depends largely on the policies that clients use to determine to whom to send data. Clients may prefer to send data to peers that send data back to them (a tit for tat scheme), which encourages fair trading. But strict policies often result in suboptimal situations, where newly joined peers are unable to receive any data (because they don't have any pieces yet to trade themselves) and two peers with a good connection between them do not exchange data simply because neither of them wants to take the initiative. To counter these effects, the official BitTorrent client program uses a mechanism called “optimistic unchoking,” where the client reserves a portion of its available bandwidth for sending pieces to random peers (not necessarily known-good partners, so called preferred peers), in hopes of discovering even better partners and to ensure that newcomers get a chance to join the swarm.

TECHNOLOGIES BUILT ON BITTORRENT

The BitTorrent protocol is still under development and therefore may still acquire new features and other enhancements such as improved efficiency.

Trackerless torrents

In May 2005, Bram Cohen released a new beta version of BitTorrent that eliminated the need for web site hosting of centralized servers known as "trackers." It is now possible to have a torrent up in minutes, with a file, a website, and no understanding of how it works. Cohen explained that the "trackerless" feature is part of his ongoing effort to make publishing files online "painless and disruptively cheap". The move is only one of several designed to remove BitTorrent's dependence on centralized trackers. In June 2005, software version 4.2.0 was released, supporting "trackerless" torrents, featured a DHT implementation that allows the client to download torrents that have been created without using a BitTorrent tracker. BitTorrent Mainline DHT: BitTorrent client (4.1.0+), µTorrent (1.2+), BitComet (0.59+), and BitSpirit (3.0+) all share DHT which is based on an implementation of the Kademlia DHT , for trackerless torrents.

This change is said to cause some trouble in the legal efforts to shut down illegal file sharing. However, Tarun Sawney, BSA Asia anti-copyright infringement director, said BitTorrent files could still be identified, since with or without the tracker sites, actual users still host the infringing files.

Search

In addition, Cohen launched a BitTorrent search engine on, which searches the web for .torrent files, including those on popular BitTorrent trackers. BitTorrent has also licensed content which it co-mingles with search results on its website at bittorrent.com.

Opera Software ASA now incorporates BitTorrent downloads through its popular browser software.

Indexing

The BitTorrent protocol provides no way to index torrent files. As a result, a comparatively small number of websites have hosted the large majority of torrents linking to (possibly) copyrighted material, rendering those sites especially vulnerable to lawsuits. In response, some developers have sought ways to make publishing of files more anonymous while still retaining BitTorrent's speed advantage. The Shareaza client supports three alternative protocols to BitTorrent: eDonkey2000, Gnutella, and Shareaza's native network, Gnutella2(G2). If the tracker is down, it can finish the file using the other protocols, and/or find new (Shareaza) peers over G2. The use of distributed trackers is also one of the goals for Azureus 2.3.0.2 and BitTorrent 4.1.2. Another interesting idea that has surfaced recently in Azureus is virtual torrent. This idea is based on the distributed tracker approach and is used to describe some web resource. Right now, it is used for instant messaging. It is implemented using a special messaging protocol and requires an appropriate plugin. Anatomic P2P is another approach, which uses a decentralized network of nodes that route traffic to dynamic trackers.

Web seeding

One recently (2006) implemented feature of BitTorrent is web seeding. The advantage of this feature is that a site may distribute a torrent for a particular file or batch of files and make those files available for download from that same web server application; this can simplify seeding and load balancing greatly once support for this feature is implemented in the various BitTorrent clients. In theory, this would make using BitTorrent almost as easy for a web publisher as simply creating a direct download while allowing some of the upload bandwidth demands to be placed upon the downloaders (who normally use only a very small portion of their upload bandwidth capacity). This feature was created by TheSHAD0W, who created BitTornado. From version 5.0 onward the Mainline BitTorrent client also supports web seeds and the BitTorrent web site has a simple publishing tool that creates web seeded torrents. The latest version of the popular download manager GetRight supports downloading a file from both HTTP/FTP protocols and using BitTorrent.

Broadcatching

Another proposed feature combines RSS with the BitTorrent protocol to create a content delivery system, further simplifying and automating content distribution. Steve Gillmor explained the concept in a column for Ziff-Davis in December, 2003. The discussion spread quickly among bloggers (Techdirt, Ernest Miller, Chris Pirillo, etc.). In an article entitled Broadcatching with BitTorrent, Scott Raymond explained:

"I want RSS feeds of BitTorrent files. A script would periodically check the feed for new items, and use them to start the download. Then, I could find a trusted publisher of an Alias RSS feed, and 'subscribe' to all new episodes of the show, which would then start downloading automatically — like the 'season pass' feature of the TiVo."

The RSS feed will track the content, while BitTorrent ensures content integrity with cryptographic hashing of all data, so subscribers to a feed receive uncorrupted content.

An early implementor of this approach is the IPTV show mariposaHD, which uses BitTorrent to distribute large (2-4 GB) WMVHD files of high-definition video.

One of the first software clients ( free and open source) for broadcatching is Democracy Player. Other free software clients such as PenguinTV and KatchTV are also now supporting broadcatching.

APIs

The BitTorrent web-service MoveDigital has the ability to make torrents available to any web application capable of parsing XML through its standard Representational State Transfer (REST) based interface. Additionally, Torrenthut is developing a similar torrent API which will provide the same features, as well as further intuition to help bring the torrent community to Web 2.0 standards. Alongside this release is a first PHP application built using the API called PEP which will parse any Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0) feed and automatically create and seed a torrent for each enclosure found in that feed.

Encryption

Protocol header encrypt (PHE) and Message stream encryption/Protocol encryption (MSE/PE) are features of some BitTorrent clients that attempt to make BitTorrent hard to throttle. At the moment Azureus, Bitcomet, BitTyrant, BitTornado, kTorrent and µTorrent support MSE/PE encryption.

Some ISPs throttle BitTorrent traffic because it makes up a large proportion of total traffic and the ISPs don't want to spend money purchasing extra capacity. Encryption makes BitTorrent traffic harder to detect and therefore harder to throttle. Recently, ISPs have announced possible future hardware upgrades in order to minimize BitTorrent traffic.

Several universities have already taken these steps, including the University of Maryland at College Park, Emory University, Brigham Young University, ASU, UTC, University of Washington, Washington University in St. Louis, and WPI.

Tor workaround

It is possible to route BitTorrent traffic into the .onion domain via Tor, although some consider the use of BitTorrent over TOR to be counter to the goals of the TOR project.

* However, client and server support for this is nearly non-existent, and there is generally a loss in network efficiency when doing so.
    * Future versions of BitTorrent may support Tor, but this may take two or three years to happen.

Peer exchange

Peer exchange (PEX) is another method to gather peers for BitTorrent in addition to trackers and DHT. Peer exchange checks with known peers to see if they know of any other peers.

Multitracker

Another unofficial feature is an extension to the BitTorrent metadata format proposed by John Hoffman and implemented by several indexing websites. It allows the use of multiple trackers per file, so if one tracker fails, others can continue supporting file transfer. It is implemented in several clients, such as BitTornado, KTorrent and µTorrent. Trackers are placed in groups, or tiers, with a tracker randomly chosen from the top tier and tried, moving to the next tier if all the trackers in the top tier fail.
Torrents with multiple trackers, called MultiTorrents by indexing website myBittorrent.com, can decrease the time it takes to download a file, but also has a few consequences:

    * Users have to contact more trackers, leading to more overhead-traffic.
* Torrents from closed trackers suddenly become downloadable by non-members, as they can connect to a seed via a open tracker.

If you require more help you can goto Brian's BitTorrent FAQ and Guide

Movie formats

VCD
VCD is an mpeg1 based format, with a constant bitrate of 1150kbit at a resolution of 352×240 (NTCS). VCDs are generally used for lower quality transfers (CAM/TS/TC/Screener(VHS)/TVrip(analogue) in order to make smaller file sizes, and fit as much on a single disc as possible. Both VCDs and SVCDs are timed in minutes, rather than MB, so when looking at an mpeg, it may appear larger than the disc capacity, and in reality u can fit 74min on a CDR74.

SVCD
SVCD is an mpeg2 based (same as DVD) which allows variable bit-rates of up to 2500kbits at a resolution of 480×480 (NTSC) which is then decompressed into a 4:3 aspect ratio when played back. Due to the variable bit-rate, the length you can fit on a single CDR is not fixed, but generally between 35-60 Mins are the most common. To get a better SVCD encode using variable bit-rates, it is important to use multiple “passes”. this takes a lot longer, but the results are far clearer.

XVCD/XSVCD
These are basically VCD/SVCD that don’t obey the “rules”. They are both capable of much higher resolutions and bit-rates, but it all depends on the player to whether the disc can be played. X(S)VCD are total non-standards, and are usually for home-ripping by people who don’t intend to release them.

DivX / XviD
DivX is a format designed for multimedia platforms. It uses two codecs, one low motion, one high motion. most older films were encoded in low motion only, and they have problems with high motion too. A method known as SBC (Smart Bit-rate Control) was developed which switches codecs at the encoding stage, making a much better print. The format is Ana orphic and the bit-rate/resolution are interchangeable. Due to the higher processing power required, and the different codecs for playback, its unlikely we’ll see a DVD player capable of play DivX for quite a while, if at all. There have been players in development which are supposedly capable, but nothing has ever arisen. The majority of PROPER DivX rips (not Re-Encs) are taken from DVDs, and generally up to 2hours in good quality is possible per disc. Various codecs exist, most popular being the original Divx3.11a and the new XviD codecs.
Edit: Many DVD players nowadays are able to play MPEG-4 formats; thus capable of DivX/XviD playback.

CVD
CVD is a combination of VCD and SVCD formats, and is generally supported by a majority of DVD players. It supports MPEG2 bit-rates of SVCD, but uses a resolution of 352×480(ntsc) as the horizontal resolution is generally less important. Currently no groups release in CVD.

DVD-R
Is the recordable DVD solution that seems to be the most popular (out of DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD+R). it holds 4.7gb of data per side, and double sided discs are available, so discs can hold nearly 10gb in some circumstances. SVCD mpeg2 images must be converted before they can be burnt to DVD-R and played successfully. DVD>DVDR copies are possible, but sometimes extras/languages have to be removed to stick within the available 4.7gb.

MiniDVD
MiniDVD/cDVD is the same format as DVD but on a standard CDR/CDRW. Because of the high resolution/bit-rates, its only possible to fit about 18-21 mins of footage per disc, and the format is only compatible with a few players.

Tags

Again this doesn't really apply to RipVision related releases, but it's useful to know what each release title stands for.

CAM
A cam is a theater rip usually done with a digital video camera. A mini tripod is sometimes used, but a lot of the time this wont be possible, so the camera make shake. Also seating placement isn’t always idle, and it might be filmed from an angle. If cropped properly, this is hard to tell unless there’s text on the screen, but a lot of times these are left with triangular borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Sound is taken from the onboard microphone of the camera, and especially in comedies, laughter can often be heard during the film. Due to these factors picture and sound quality are usually quite poor, but sometimes we’re lucky, and the theater will be fairly empty and a fairly clear signal will be heard.

TELESYNC (TS)
A telesync is the same spec as a CAM except it uses an external audio source (most likely an audio jack in the chair for hard of hearing people). A direct audio source does not ensure a good quality audio source, as a lot of background noise can interfere. A lot of the times a telesync is filmed in an empty cinema or from the projection booth with a professional camera, giving a better picture quality. Quality ranges drastically, check the sample before downloading the full release. A high percentage of Telesyncs are CAMs that have been mislabeled.

TELECINE (TC)
A telecine machine copies the film digitally from the reels. Sound and picture should be very good, but due to the equipment involved and cost telecines are fairly uncommon. Generally the film will be in correct aspect ratio, although 4:3 telecines have existed. A great example is the JURASSIC PARK 3 TC done last year. TC should not be confused with TimeCode , which is a visible counter on screen throughout the film.

R5
A rushed retail DVD from Russia, which is believed to be put out in an attempt to stop the use of pirated telecines. The R5 DVDs are produced as essentially telecines, except they are done on a professional level. The quality is often similar to DVD screeners, with little to no cleanup. An R5 release will typically be of quality exceeding that of telecines but lower than that of DVD screeners. PUKKA introduced the R5 format in November of 2006 in their release of Flyboys:

Over the past 6 months the major movie studios have been releasing retail dvds use of pirated telecines (which were once very common). Lately however there has telecines you see are actually R5 retails. R5 retail is rushed out by the studio, they are basically competing with pirates, so there is little to no cleanup of the film after the telecine process. So the main difference between telecines put out by professional studios and professional people. The quality of R5 retail is very similar to dvdscr’s, no time is usually spent cleaning up dvdscrs either.
To view PUKKA’s complete interpretation of the R5, view their NFO.

SCREENER (SCR)
A pre VHS tape, sent to rental stores, and various other places for promotional use. A screener is supplied on a VHS tape, and is usually in a 4:3 (full screen) a/r, although letterboxed screeners are sometimes found. The main draw back is a “ticker” (a message that scrolls past at the bottom of the screen, with the copyright and anti-copy telephone number). Also, if the tape contains any serial numbers, or any other markings that could lead to the source of the tape, these will have to be blocked, usually with a black mark over the section. This is sometimes only for a few seconds, but unfortunately on some copies this will last for the entire film, and some can be quite big. Depending on the equipment used, screener quality can range from excellent if done from a MASTER copy, to very poor if done on an old VHS recorder thru poor capture equipment on a copied tape. Most screeners are transferred to VCD, but a few attempts at SVCD have occurred, some looking better than others.

DVD-SCREENER (DVDscr)
Same premise as a screener, but transferred off a DVD. Usually letterbox , but without the extras that a DVD retail would contain. The ticker is not usually in the black bars, and will disrupt the viewing. If the ripper has any skill, a DVDscr should be very good. Usually transferred to SVCD or DivX/XviD.

DVDRip
A copy of the final released DVD. If possible this is released PRE retail (for example, Star Wars episode 2) again, should be excellent quality. DVDrips are released in SVCD and DivX/XviD.

VHSRip
Transferred off a retail VHS, mainly skating/sports videos and XXX releases.

TVRip
TV episode that is either from Network (capped using digital cable/satellite boxes are preferable) or PRE-AIR from satellite feeds sending the program around to networks a few days earlier (do not contain “dogs” but sometimes have flickers etc) Some programs such as WWF Raw Is War contain extra parts, and the “dark matches” and camera/commentary tests are included on the rips. PDTV is capped from a digital TV PCI card, generally giving the best results, and groups tend to release in SVCD for these. VCD/SVCD/DivX/XviD rips are all supported by the TV scene.

WORKPRINT (WP)
A workprint is a copy of the film that has not been finished. It can be missing scenes, music, and quality can range from excellent to very poor. Some WPs are very different from the final print (Men In Black is missing all the aliens, and has actors in their places) and others can contain extra scenes (Jay and Silent Bob) . WPs can be nice additions to the collection once a good quality final has been obtained.

DivX Re-Enc
A DivX re-enc is a film that has been taken from its original VCD source, and re-encoded into a small DivX file. Most commonly found on file sharers, these are usually labeled something like Film.Name.Group(1of2) etc. Common groups are SMR and TND. These aren’t really worth downloading, unless you’re that unsure about a film u only want a 200mb copy of it. Generally avoid.

Watermarks
A lot of films come from Asian Silvers/PDVD (see below) and these are tagged by the people responsible. Usually with a letter/initials or a little logo, generally in one of the corners. Most famous are the “Z” “A” and “Globe” watermarks.

Asian Silvers / PDVD
These are films put out by eastern bootleggers, and these are usually bought by some groups to put out as their own. Silvers are very cheap and easily available in a lot of countries, and its easy to put out a release, which is why there are so many in the scene at the moment, mainly from smaller groups who don’t last more than a few releases. PDVDs are the same thing pressed onto a DVD. They have removable subtitles, and the quality is usually better than the silvers. These are ripped like a normal DVD, but usually released as VCD.

PROPER
Due to scene rules, whoever releases the first Telesync has won that race (for example). But if the quality of that release is fairly poor, if another group has another telesync (or the same source in higher quality) then the tag PROPER is added to the folder to avoid being duped. PROPER is the most subjective tag in the scene, and a lot of people will generally argue whether the PROPER is better than the original release. A lot of groups release PROPERS just out of desperation due to losing the race. A reason for the PROPER should always be included in the NFO.

SUBBED
In the case of a VCD, if a release is subbed, it usually means it has hard encoded subtitles burnt throughout the movie. These are generally in malaysian/chinese/thai etc, and sometimes there are two different languages, which can take up quite a large amount of the screen. SVCD supports switch able subtitles, so some DVDRips are released with switch able subs. This will be mentioned in the NFO file if included.

UNSUBBED
When a film has had a subbed release in the past, an Unsubbed release may be released

LIMITED
A limited movie means it has had a limited theater run, generally opening in less than 250 theaters, generally smaller films (such as art house films) are released as limited.

INTERNAL
An internal release is done for several reasons. Classic DVD groups do a lot of .INTERNAL. releases, as they wont be dupe’d on it. Also lower quality theater rips are done INTERNAL so not to lower the reputation of the group, or due to the amount of rips done already. An INTERNAL release is available as normal on the groups affiliate sites, but they can’t be traded to other sites without request from the site ops. Some INTERNAL releases still trickle down to IRC/Newsgroups, it usually depends on the title and the popularity. Earlier in the year people referred to Centropy going “internal”. This meant the group were only releasing the movies to their members and site ops. This is in a different context to the usual definition.

STV
Straight To Video. Was never released in theaters, and therefore a lot of sites do not allow these.

ASPECT RATIO TAGS
These are *WS* for widescreen (letterbox) and *FS* for Fullscreen.

RECODE
A recode is a previously released version, usually filtered through TMPGenc to remove subtitles, fix color etc. Whilst they can look better, its not looked upon highly as groups are expected to obtain their own sources.

REPACK
If a group releases a bad rip, they will release a Repack which will fix the problems.

NUKED
A film can be nuked for various reasons. Individual sites will nuke for breaking their rules (such as “No Telesyncs”) but if the film has something extremely wrong with it (no soundtrack for 20mins, CD2 is incorrect film/game etc) then a global nuke will occur, and people trading it across sites will lose their credits. Nuked films can still reach other sources such as p2p/usenet, but its a good idea to check why it was nuked first in case. If a group realise there is something wrong, they can request a nuke.

NUKE REASONS :: this is a list of common reasons a film can be nuked for (generally DVDRip)

** BAD A/R ** :: bad aspect ratio, ie people appear too fat/thin
** BAD IVTC ** :: bad inverse telecine. process of converting framerates was incorrect.
** INTERLACED ** :: black lines on movement as the field order is incorrect.

DUPE
Dupe is quite simply, if something exists already, then theres no reason for it to exist again without proper reason.

About us

Hi and welcome to RipVision.com. Here we have a new vision on bringing you great independent music for FREE. By embracing BitTorrent technology instead of fighting it we can bring you the music you like without the costs involved in running our own servers, meaning with the artists blessing we can supply you for free. The artists themselves do get a small commission on the tracks you download via the individual tracks been sponsored via the banner that is on there download page, we feel this is win win for all parties.

This is a experiment to show the big music labels and artists that they could indeed embrace BitTorrent technology and provide there music for free whist still making a income, you just have to imagine this been done on a much much bigger scale. Im sure you would all agree not to download your favorite artist from a pirate site if there was a alternative LEGAL way of downloading there tracks for free and having a few sponsored adds is a small price to pay.

Now ok this concept is never going to make the kind of money that the big labels are used to getting in the past but the world is changing and these company's have to change there business models to move with the times, we are sorry to inform that the gravy boat is going and bleave that instead on relying just on sales that the artist should concentrate more on performances and other means of income ie from the radio rights etc while giving the music to there fans, as without fans they are nothing. This concept does rely on trust and we hope that any tracks released on RipVision are only downloaded via the official link on the tracks page, we are sure that the vast majority will do this, by been provided with a free way to download music why would you want to risk all the dangers involved in using a pirate site and be in the knowledge that you are supporting the artist.

In the future we may also include a donation button so you can directly support the artist with what you bleave the music is worth to you, im sure you can agree how this could be a great way of surporting independent artists as afterall we all have to eat.

This site has been made using free tools and online services just to show what is possible if you just think a little out the box, now ok we agree its not the flashest website in the world and is very basic but it gets the job done within the limitations we have.

Please make sure you bookmark us (Ctrl+D) and keep coming back to see if anything new has been added from your favorite artist.

Surport this experiment and post the Ripvision link in any relevant place you can think of, This can only work with lots of visitors and maybe the music industry will stand up and take notice.

Private Trackers

Scene-Inspired is a general 0Day private tracker, it's a little bit more special though offering a great community and staff that are able to help with noob and advanced questions and not just on torrents, all kinds of stuff are discussed on its shoutbox and irc channels. S-I has just had a refit and its looking better then ever, but more importantly the guts behind the site are solid. It also has dedicated seedboxes and members with seedboxes so speeds on new files will normally max your download speed.

If you never been on a private tracker its important to note things are done differently than on a public, there are rules to follow which are for the bennefit of the whole community, these include you must seed your download for 36hours and you must not under any circumstances Hit and Run on a torrent (that is to stop seeding your file as soon as its finished) breaking the rules leads to warning and or banning from the site.

Now the realy special bit about S-I is the site is on a permant FREELEECH so your download is not counted against your stats, this dosent meen you can H&R and normal site rules apply. It does not refer to commercial for-profit software counterfeiting. First, warez is released by releasegroups, groups which are specialized in publishing warez. They copy a dvd or break the security of game, and will make it available for other people, as a so-called release. When these releasegroups finish a release it will be uploaded to sites. These sites are very fast private ftp-servers, and the first stadium in the distribution of a release. Eventually, at the end of the distribution, the releases are available for everyone on p2p-software.
The speed of this worldwide network is enormous. Within minutes a release can be copied to hundreds of other sites. Within an hour, it’s available on thousands of sites and fxp boards. Within a day or two it’s available on newsgroups, irc and in the end, on p2p-software.
Within a day or two it’s available on newsgroups, irc and in the end, on p2p-software. It’s not all one big happy family. The warez scene consists of certain groups/layers. At the top we have the releasegroups and the topsites. These groups are the scene core. The other groups officially are not a part of the scene. Though most people consist them as a part of the scene.
The scene isn’t just a distribution network, it’s far more than that. There are the scene rules which are there to guarantee good quality releases. If not, a release will be nuked. This means it will be marked as bad. Nuked releases are not spread well and the releasegroup will get a bad status.
Security is an important issue in the scene. Since their activities are illegal the sceners have to secure themselves, to be safe from the anti-piracy organisations (such as the feds, national anti-piracy organizations, etc) and avoid being caught in a takedown.
What is a release?
Original releases are rips of movies, programs, games and music, all released by groups specialized in creating these kinds of releases, so called releasegroups.
A release is the full package of a ripped game, movie etc. These releases are all created in a standard way, according to the scene rules. That way the tag and the included info file directly give you a lot of information about the release type, the source and so on.
First there is the actual content. Most big releases with the size of a CD or DVD are released as a cd or dvd image, mostly in .ISO or .IMG format. Basically an image is a complete backup of a cd/dvd. They can be burned (Nero, Alcohol 120%) or mounted (Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools). Apart from the actual content it’s often packed into compressed files for easy spreading. Also it contains an info file which will tell the downloader all about what’s in the release, how it’s created and what the quality is.
To ensure the quality of a release, there are the scene rules which are set up by the releasegroups. These scene rules exactly tell how a release should be prepared for the scene. This is the big advantage of scene releases, you’ll always get high quality. The whole scene system keeps it safe, clean, and ensures high quality only.
Releasegroup in general
A releasegroup simply is a group of people which releases warez such as movies, games applications, or music on the internet. IRC is the group’s medium to stay in contact with each other. The size of a group varies, some groups have just 5 people, others maybe 20. Mostly the members of the group don’t know eachother in real life. Trust is a highly important issue. Since the group’s activities aren’t legal, the team members have to be able to rely on each other. If one member gets caught, the other ones are in big trouble too, so security has high priority. This means that for example they talk on private irc servers or through a bouncer, and they connect to their sites through proxy’s.
And “RipVision” Team bring you the latest Scene Releases and make it easy for you to stay up to date
For more information about the Scene , Nfo files , topsites , Warez and… visit these links:

aboutthescene.com/general/index.html
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_scene
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Warez
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topsite_(www)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez

Public trackers

____________________________________________________________________

1. Mininova - Mininova originally came into existence after the end of SuprNova.
