Business School Finance Lab Group

A good portion of the users of our ticker displays are business school finance labs.  Tickers are normally a small piece of the overall puzzel from the live market data and simulation programs to specialized trading desks.

As a resource to faculty and professors we created a group on Linkedin where members can go and ask questions and learn about experiences from others utilizing finance labs and from vendors that have products focused on business school finance labs.

The group is open to all schools so if you have a ticker display(from us or someone else) and want to jump in and share your thoughts on how to use the technology to create a Wall-street atmosphere please jump in.

Installations are in full swing as several LED Stock Tickers are going into business school trading rooms before the start of the fall semester.

]]> http://riseticker.com/?p=2135 Average Size for a Digital Stock Ticker As you consider adding a Digital Stock Ticker to your facility the main variable that dictates the cost is the length.  So how long of a ticker should you install?

To help provide some insight we did a little analysis of our last 100 tickers installed from 6/30/2010 to 8/15/2011 (roughly 14 months)

  • Shortest Ticker = 6 feet
  • Longest Ticker = 136 feet
  • Average Size = 34 feet
  • Most popular height = 24 pixels (8.2″) – making up 85% of the installations
  • *Standard Brightness = 31%
  • *Premium Brightness = 69%

*In fairness the Standard Brightness was only launched and fully available starting in early 2011 so the numbers are more heavily favoring Premium because it was the only option for a majority of the time span measured.  If you want to see more information on the comparison between the 2 styles click here.
