Given the cost and how difficult it can be to get tickets to see a match, I think if you're luck enough to get to a game, then you should stay and see your team through the bitter end.

Anyway, if your guilty of not staying, what's your reason?

O.k last week we beat Watford, not exactly and inspiring performance and now we lose to Sheffield after beating them 3 nil earlier in the season.

I have to say though, when I saw the line-up for the match today, I'm wasn’t too surprised by the result. With the likes of Gallas, Henry and fast becoming my favourite player Adebayor not able to play, my expectations weren't too high.

So the season so far is pretty much summed up in my Arsenal vs Blackburn post, we lack consistency, which seems to be the term used by most describing the Gunners performance at present.

So what does the past tell us about our future?

Well, our game against Charlton will be a struggle, we'll either lose or draw and then as we meet Liverpool on 2 separate occasions, we'll do well and see them off.

Lets hope so!

Regardless of league position, a game against a newly promoted side and one struggling in the relegation zone represents arguably the best chance for the team to improve on a dismal away record that has yielded 2 wins in a season and a half (and none this season). However, the league table adds extra significance to the result.

A win at Bramall Lane will see us off the bottom of the league for the first time in over 2 months, with Watford not travelling to Man City until Monday. Furthermore, a poignant home game with Blackburn on Tuesday offers a great chance to back up this win, build team confidence , and kick-start a wretched season whilst there is still time to save it. December 5th is the 14th anniversary of our emotional return to The Valley.

However, the flipside of this is that defeat against the Blades will leave us languishing in last place, a full 7 points behind our victors who may well still find themselves occupying a relegation place. In other words, at least 3 wins from ‘safety’. Its not to much of a stretch to say that Charlton would be as good as down even before the transfer window has opened.

Here’s hoping that the Blades are not mightier than the sword in South Yorkshire on Saturday…..
