Kinda like the Nike Air Max 93 or 96, the adidas Originals ZX 750 is a model that finds itself in the unfortunate position of being smack dab in the middle of two all-timers, and is thusly subject to more or less constant overshadowing. So without the same boost from an enduring legacy, these new ZX 750s are left to stand on their own merit, and both pairs manage to do so quite admirably, albeit from different ends of the spectrum. One captures that early ?90s vibe with pink and blue accents on a white/grey/black base, while the other goes for a hunting/military mix of earthy tones plus blaze orange that?s kinda like a stripped down version of the ?Boba Fett? This KD IV sports a look similar to last year's "Away" POP Nike Zoom KD III, which was initially confused for a Baltimore Orioles colorway. The shoe features a black synthetic base with a matte finish, accented by Team Orange on the cross-strap, toebox Swoosh branding, tongue logo and midsole. White takes care of the Swoosh logos on the strap and medial side, as well as KD's official logo on the heel. In the annals of Chinese Horoscope and written records over the last 2 millenniums, five elementals: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth, govern all things living and non-living. So as the Lunar New Year, better known as Chinese New Year, approaches, billions around the world will usher in the Year of the Water Dragon. Himself a dragon (born in 1988, the Year of Earth Dragon), Kevin Durant, along with the design team at Nike Basketball, wanted a design with strong inclination to the mythical beast. An elaborate wave pattern and the color blue envelope Durant?s new signature footwear, Nike Zoom KD IV, while details such as rippling tides and the water dragon itself, are etched throughout the upper via laser. As with all those born in the year of dragon, known to be self-assured and passionate, Durant added a hint of light blue and mango colorways in reference to his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
