Guyyyyyssss, I was asked to draw a guest comic for Adventuresome, and it’s about the bread who is also a knight. Legalese: Bread Who is Also a Knight is the creation of the super duper bright and shiny Keith Mclean, cartoonist of the aforementioned awesome comic, Adventuresome.

If you’re not reading Adventuresome, I feel bad for you son. Keith is also really awesome at his twitter, by that I mean he is funny and nice, which are the two secrets to being a good person/webcartoonist. He’s got some grand schemes in the works, which I hope involve lots of Uncle Andy.

It’s not quite Chez Cereal, (pronounced: shay sii ray-ahl) but a similar idea has been done. I share Robbie’s sentiment about this.

This weekend Julai discovered they’re streaming the entire animated series of The Mysterious Cities of Gold on Netflix. I only vaguely remember MCoG airing when I was little, but it stands the test of time.

The series is set in 16th century Mesoamerica with a mix of historical and fantastical elements. The opening theme and soundtrack are excellent, and there are some remarkably trippy sequences and adult themes for it ostensibly being a kid’s cartoon. The educational segments at the end of each episode aren’t bad either! (There’s footage of an iguana eating a cactus that I can’t get over.) I’ll say the English dubbed vocals aren’t superb, but what can you do. The adapted musical score more than makes up for it. We love it, and have made it a new Saturday morning tradition, which we also enjoy with our cat, Wizard.

Last week, I mentioned some comic shops where you can pick up the new Robbie and Bobby book. You can always order it from my online store, but seeing it in the real is pretty cool, too.

I asked some folks on Facebook and Twitter what kind of new R&B merch they’d like to see and got some great ideas, thanks to everyone who pitched in. I’ll let you know what I come up with! In the meantime, I’m trying to make some room in the shop, so I’ve marked down the prices on my inventory of t-shirts.

The CVS by my house is the worst about this. Sheesh, get a clue you guys! I don’t really believe in flu shots–people think I’m a conspiracy nut when I say that. I don’t think they’ll make you have flipper babies or anything, I just mean I’m in okay health, so I don’t think they’re so imperative for me? Babies and old folks can have all they want. Tell ‘em I said so!

Anyway, enough about that. Wednesday I participated in Hourly Comic Day. You can see my results here.

The past couple of weeks, I’ve been shipping out copies of the new book to all the cool comic shops. You should now be able to find books at Bedrock City on Washington Avenue in Houston, Domy in Houston and Austin, Dragon’s Lair in Austin and San Antonio, Austin Books, Quimby’s and Chicago Comics in Chicago, and Desert Island in Brooklyn. I’m also preparing a shipment to Velocity Comics in Richmond, Virginia. I’ll make a proper list and post it on the site soon.

Okay, I think that’s about all for now. I’m gearing up for convention season! Check out the sidebar for the dates I’ll be exhibiting. Do you guys want to see any new R&B merch? I was thinking about making buttons. Anything else you’d like to see?

I really don’t know what to say. There’s no use scribbling in the shadow of this kind of raw genius. I’m donating my drawing hand to the handless orphan’s home.

Before I fade into obscurity, here’s a video interview I did with Andre Habet of FUHA TV. We talked about makin’ comics, which will be always fond memory for me. *sniff*
