The RoboJackets will be hosting Technology Enrichment (TE) Sessions this Fall on Thursdays from 4:35 PM to 5:55 PM in CCB 17. The first sessions is September 16, 2010. Schools may register here.

The RoboCup team will meet Tuesdays at 6PM and Sundays at 1 PM.

The BattleBots Team will be meeting Wednesdays at 6PM.

IGVC team will be meeting Thursdays at 6PM and Saturdays at 3PM.

For Fall 2010 the FIRST team will be meeting in at 6 PM on Mondays.

The 2010 Fall RIM Seminar Series has been announced. These are typically held at noon on the specified day in the Marcus Nano Tech Building. For the most recent news check the Robotics & Intelligent Machines website.

On Thursday September 2nd we will host an introductory meeting for new and interested members. This will be held in Klaus 1116 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

The RoboJackets will host the 2011 North American Small Size League Open. This event is currently scheduled for January 2011. More firm details will be posted as event date draws near. Current planning info can be found here.

We ended day 4 with two draws both against Omid (0-0) and RoboFEI (1-1). Thus bringing our total record for round robin play to 0-2-2. The improved software was indeed more aggressive and did result in one yellow card. This was not sufficient to make it past our field to the quarter finals. We did hold another scrimmage match in the after noon this time against RFC Cambridge resulting in a (2-2) draw.

We start off day 4 with two losses in the ranked matches from yesterday against RoboDragons (0-4) and ERForce (0-3). As yesterday progressed the software developed from a strategic stand point and we did gain a victory in the afternoon against the UBC Thunderbots in a scrimmage match (3-0). We do look forward to what today’s matches might bring with the improved more aggressive software system.

The RoboJackets have made it to the 2010 RoboCup in Singapore. If you’re in Singapore the event is at the Suntec International Convention Center. More info about the event can be found at www.robocup2010.org. Thus far we have completed setup, system calibration, and conducted a round of maintenance on the fleet. Round robin play begins Monday and our match schedule is below (times are local for competition).

On June 7th, 2010 the RoboJackets took 6th place with a 200 ft distance at the 18th Annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC). This year the competition was its largest yet with close to 40 of the 58 registered teams attending and 31 qualifying to participate. 2010 marks the fifth consecutive appearance, fourth top ten finish, and second year in sixth.

We will have a booth at the six FASET sessions held this summer. Setup begins at 4 PM each day and the event ends around 6 PM. Members should meet at the SCC / Tin Building at 3:45 PM to gather materials.

As you may or may not know next week is National Robotics Week (NRW). As such the RoboJackets will be at competition in the Georgia Dome with the FIRST Robotics team, helping to man the SAIC booth with robots, running demos as part of the RIM@GT open house and participating in the first ever College FIRST Conference. Additionally, we will also be holding elections. A time line of NRW is below.

The 7th annual GT Auto Show will be on Saturday, April 3, 2010. The event will start at 11 AM and take place in the parking lot by the instructional center. We will need to be setup by 10AM.
