True Blood: The Complete Fifth Season

The show that’s got it all – vampire politics, vampire sex issues, also werewolves and shapeshiftters doing stuff. Sorry, it’s been a while and things had gotten very monster-y and a little confusing when I left off. Anyway, lots of people love this show, and season 6 is premiering in June, so this could easily be on your buy list for today.

LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite

Not only was this a fantastic game, it was also infinitely more fun and creative than most of DC’s direct-t0-DVD animated fare of the past few years. No reason not to expect more of the same from the movie. I pre-ordered mine months ago, it should be here tonight!

Teen Wolf: Season Two

The second season of MTV’s Teen Wolf reboot collected on DVD.

Captain America (1990)

Truly, a movie of it’s time. Your enjoyment of the film will be directly proportionate to your fondness for snark and irony.

That’s either Jean Grey, a hallucination and/or dream,or some sort of chemically induced illusion designed to keep Logan unconscious while he is operated on, to receive the ‘gift’ of mortality. James Mangold ‘s has never been shy about mysteries, revenant cyborgs and the consequences of our actions, up to and including real world demons like PTSD. I’ll be attending the movie on opening day at theaters because I’m a major fan, and because I want to the many mysteries poised by these trailers. Questions like ‘how is Jean alive,?’followed by the nearly-inevitable ‘ooooh, it’s not her, it’s her . Waitamminit how is she alice!’ I’ve got lots of questions, and a movie on the way that looks as though it may actually answer many of them. We’re truly heading toward a superhero film golden age. The Wolveriene opens in theatres July 26.

Bryan Singer continues to use Twitter to build anticipation for X-Men: Days of Future Past , this time with a photo of himself with actor Peter Dinklage . Although Dinklage’s role in the film hasn’t been announced, it’s been widely speculated that he would either be portraying Bolivar Trask , creator of the mutant-hunting robot Sentinels, or former Alpha Flight member Puck.

Singer cast doubt on the Puck theory, and confirmed that Dinklage won’t play a CGI-enhanced character (ruling out way-out characters like MODOK ) so smart money seems to be that Dinklage will in fact be playing Trask – and the image tweeted by Singer lends the theory even more credibility, since Dinklage is now sporting a mustache that bears more than a little similarity to that worn by Trask in X-Men comics and animated series.
