This June, Singapore's iconic horticultural attraction Gardens by the Bay invites families to step into two delightful Disney-themed experiences. Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Garden of Wonder returns to Floral Fantasy with new topiary displays, while the flagship Children's Festival 2026 featuring Disney's Winnie the Pooh takes over Supertree Grove with outdoor installations and play areas. Following its successful debut in 2024, Disney Garden of Wonder (迪士尼奇妙花园）is back at Floral Fantasy with new topiary displays and dioramas of beloved Disney and Pixar characters. For the first time, the 2026 edition of Disney Garden of Wonder will introduce displays of Disney Princess heroines Rapunzel, Belle and Jasmine. In another first, topiary versions of Frozen's Anna and Elsa will also preside over an enchanting snowy landscape, brought to life through floral artistry and themed lighting that imagines a frost-kissed world of wonder.

Visitors can look forward to 23 topiary characters across six themed zones, including fan favourites such as: Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey; Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear from Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5; as well as Hundred Acre Wood pals like Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger. Rounding out the journey is a uniquely Singaporean finale, where visitors can snap playful photos with displays of Disney characters reimagined in local settings, alongside famed hawker fare such as laksa and teh tarik.

With its blend of floral artistry, familiar characters and magical storytelling, Disney Garden of Wonder offers families a visually rich journey that appeals across generations during the upcoming school holidays.

Children's Festival 2026 featuring Disney's Winnie the Pooh

The free Children's Festival is back at Gardens by the Bay's Supertree Grove this June holidays, celebrating 100 years of Winnie the Pooh and the beloved bear's enduring message to be kind, stay curious, and keep a little honey in your heart.

Highlights include:

The Hundred Acre Glide, inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood – the first zipline in Singapore themed after Disney's Winnie the Pooh. Featuring a treehouse-style installation, children can glide 16 metres across the festival grounds against the backdrop of the Supertrees.
The Sweetest Drops, inspired by Winnie the Pooh –this honeycomb-themed ball pit is inspired by Pooh's search for his favourite snack, honey, which often turns into an adventure.
The Brave Logs, inspired by Piglet – balance across planks and "tree stumps" in this quick-footed adventure that encourages children to summon their courage and take things one step at a time.
The Enchanted Meadows, inspired by Eeyore – slow down and enjoy gentle see-saws in this play area themed after a breezy field of flowers.
The Joyful Puddles, inspired by Tigger – drawing from Tigger's energetic personality, these "puddle" trampolines are perfect for a day of bouncing fun in the sun.

For the first time in Southeast Asia, Gardens by the Bay will be presenting a march into Supertree Grove with super-sized inflatables up to seven metres in height. Titled "Pooh's Grand Friendship Party", visitors of all ages may join in this lively song and dance twice on Saturdays, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for the entire family.

To keep you healthy, your immune system relies on a well-hydrated body. In this summer season, maintaining optimal hydration is more important than ever.

According to Susan Bowerman, Senior Director, Worldwide Nutrition Education and Training at Herbalife, water is the most natural drink on earth – humans, after all, drank water long before they enjoyed tea, coffee, herbal drinks or other beverages. So even though drinking a glass of water shouldn’t require a second thought, here's a reminder of why we need to pay more attention to consuming the world’s oldest beverage.

Adults have up to 60 percent water in their bodies[1], so it’s no surprise that we need to stay well-hydrated to stay healthy. In the Philippines’s hot and humid climate, proper hydration supports digestion, nutrient absorption and waste elimination. Additionally, without enough water, regulating body temperature becomes difficult, joints lose lubrication, and muscles fatigue more quickly. The bottom line is this: every cell, tissue, and organ needs water to function properly.

Water and Immunity

Just like every other system in the body, the cells of your immune system require nutrients to do their job. Here are three main ways in which water supports immunity:

Water is essential for nutrient absorption.

Water is needed during the entire digestive process, but particularly when it comes to nutrient absorption into the bloodstream. Once there, the nutrients are transported in this watery environment to all the body’s cells where they can be taken up and utilised.

Water is a key component of lymphatic fluid.

Water is an important component of another important fluid in your immune system, called lymph (or lymphatic fluid), which travels through a separate system of vessels.

The lymphatic fluid contains specialised white blood cells, called lymphocytes, that help the body fight infection. As the lymphatic fluid circulates, it helps remove waste products, toxins, and impurities from your body – including bacteria and viruses. Since your lymph system is about 96 percent water, it should make sense that dehydration could slow down the function of this natural drainage system in your body.

Water helps maintain healthy mucous membranes.

Another way that water and fluids support immunity is by maintaining the health of your mucous membranes. Just as your skin helps to protect the outside of your body from foreign invaders, your moist mucous membranes act as a barrier, too. These membranes protect those areas inside of your body that are exposed to air – like your nostrils, mouth, and throat. When your body lacks adequate fluid, your nasal passages may become dry, making the barrier less effective.

Lastly, if you have an illness and have been coughing and have a dry throat, or if you have a fever, or if you’ve been losing fluids because of a stomach or intestinal upset, it’s vitally important that you consume plenty of fluids to help your system recover.

Tips to Help You Stay Hydrated

If you find it hard to drink enough water every day, here are some tips that might help you.

See it.

It can be really helpful if you can see the amount of water you plan to drink and to track your progress over the day. Put the amount of water you plan to have in a pitcher on your kitchen counter or keep it at your desk. It will serve as a reminder to drink more, and you’ll be motivated to sip on it as the day goes by – and meet your goal of finishing it.

Cool it.

Cold water often seems more refreshing than room-temperature water. Try stashing a bottle of water in your freezer and carry it with you during the day. It will stay cold for several hours, and you might be encouraged to drink more.

Wake up to it.

“Morning mouth” is a reminder that most of us are naturally a bit dehydrated in the morning. So, keep a glass of water by your bed, and drink it first thing – before your feet even hit the floor.

Flavor it.

Make your own spa water. Add a slice of fresh lemon or lime, some cucumber, a few berries, some fresh mint, or a slice of fresh ginger to your water. It makes it feel special and adds a hint of refreshing flavor.

Eat it.

Don’t forget that watery foods like fruits and vegetables (but particularly cucumbers, melons, tomatoes, and leafy greens) contribute to your overall daily fluid needs, so include plenty of these healthy foods with meals and snacks.

Track it.

Just like keeping track of your calorie intake, keeping track of how much water you drink can help a lot, too. That’s why the pitcher-on-the-desk trick works so well – at any moment, you can see how much water you’ve had and how much you need to drink before the day is over. If you want to go high tech, there are apps for your phone that can send you drinking reminders, keep track of your progress and even give you a virtual pat on the back when you’ve met your goal.

Neo, diagnosed at two, has been managing T1D for four years. His mother, Jhen, recounted how his son’s symptoms were initially misdiagnosed. It was not until a second ER visit that the doctor checked his blood sugar, discovering he was in a diabetic coma. This life-changing event ignited her commitment to Neo’s health—their family maintains a strict regimen of consistent blood sugar monitoring, insulin administration, and balanced meals.

Jhen also highlighted the need for action: “I initially felt overwhelmed and disheartened. However, I quickly realized the importance of taking action and learning as much as possible to support Neo. We had to be resilient and bounce back for him, to keep him alive and healthy.”

Diagnosed at three, Sophia is now a thriving 10-year-old. Her mother, Joanne, recalled her harrowing experience when Sophia was rushed to the ER and went comatose—her daughter could not wake up because of extremely high sugar. After they came home from the hospital, they started throwing sugary drinks and snacks at home and replaced them with healthier choices.

Despite her daughter’s condition, Joanne emphasized balancing health management and parenthood: “As a parent, we want to preserve her quality of life. We want her blood sugar to be as stable as possible so that her organs, like her eyes, kidneys, etc, won’t suffer. At the same time, we also want to give her a normal childhood.”

Diagnosed at four, Liam’s symptoms—frequent urination, excessive thirst, and weight loss—prompted his family to seek medical help. His mother, Majeg, shared that he manages his son's diabetes by setting a meal plan and portioning his food.

Majeg advises other parents: “Listen to your child, be observant, and seek help, especially from the doctors who can understand it most.”

The Nuvali Fountain of Lights: A Magical Tradition Anew

At the heart of this holiday season at Nuvali is the Fountain of Lights, an enchanting display of lights, music, and storytelling—a must-see nightly show for families especially kids of all ages and kids at heart. Starting this November, the show will feature two main thematic performances that will captivate audiences of all ages: “Dragons of Prosperity” and “Journey to Toy Island.” These awe-inspiring narratives are designed to spark the imagination and bring a sense of wonder to children and adults alike.

“Dragons of Prosperity” tells a magical tale of life and rebirth, where mystical dragons representing the elements of earth, water, wind, and fire come to life in a symphony of lights and movement. The dragons’ ethereal dance symbolizes the cycle of renewal and hope that mirrors the spirit of the holiday season—making it not only a visually striking experience but also one filled with meaning and value.

Their second show, “Journey to Toy Island,” takes audiences on a whimsical adventure aboard a paper boat that embarks on a journey to a distant island of magical toys. This playful story will spark joy and nostalgia in children and adults alike, reminding us of the innocence and excitement of childhood wonder.

A Mini Theme Park and Play

This year, Nuvali’s Fountain of Lights light, sound and water show extends to a multi-sensory holiday spectacle with on-ground installations of the show highlights, featuring dragons and life-size toys,kids and adults can play with, creating a magical setting for families to explore and make unforgettable memories together.

The Gift of Kindness: Nuvali’s Toy Donation Drive

As part of its holiday celebrations, Nuvali also invites families to join in spreading the joy of Christmas through their Toy Donation Drive. In the spirit of giving, Nuvali Estate, Ayala Malls Solenad, Seda Nuvali, and The Driving Range are collaborating to bring the Gift of Kindness to life—a special toy drive dedicated to bringing smiles to children in Sitio Iraq Barangay Macabling, Sta Rosa, Laguna.

Visitors can donate new or used toys that are still in good condition, at designated donation stations throughout the area.

To add to the fun, 7-Eleven Centris 1 has also been turned into a PokéStop in Pokémon Go along with the rest of the Philippine 7-Eleven stores. Customers can now venture to the branch nearest to them for the full Pokémon experience by channeling their inner trainer and catching their coveted Pokémon through the Pokémon GO app.
