This week’s podcast has been in the works for a long time. I have been wanting to do a “headphones show” for awhile and the playlist for this podcast is very much suited for relaxing in a hammock or on a lounge chair, preferably on the beach or by the pool with headphones on. The songs deal with love, lost, escape and failure and the lyrics are definitely worth listening to carefully.

That’s right I have managed to string together three podcasts in a row and it’s nice to get back into the groove and bring you some amazing rock and roll from bands who are either unsigned or are on smaller independent record labels. And as you can tell from this week’s podcast all of these bands rock and ALL could slot into a commercial rock radio station playlist with no problem at all.

Most of the bands this week I have never played before but then heck, that is where the fun is in music as far as I am concerned. If you don’t search out music in all the various nooks and crannies where it is being made you will be condemned to listen to Black Dog and Hotel California in perpetuity!

<itunes:summary>Another week, another Rock and Roll Report Podcast! That's right I have managed to string together three podcasts in a row and it's nice to get back into the groove and bring you some amazing rock and roll from bands who are either unsigned or are on smaller independent record labels. And as you can tell from this week's podcast all of these bands rock and ALL could slot into a commercial rock radio station playlist with no problem at all.

Most of the bands this week I have never played before but then heck, that is where the fun is in music as far as I am concerned. If you don't search out music in all the various nooks and crannies where it is being made you will be condemned to listen to Black Dog and Hotel California in perpetuity!

I had a blast putting together this week's podcast as there is some stuff that is definitely different and I have only ever played one band before (Pirate Radio Station).

As usual I encourage you to check out the band's myspace and web pages and drop comments of support. And if you really like what you hear please but the band's music so they can make more of it!

As a matter of fact, there is so much great rock and roll out there and that has been submitted to the Rock and Roll Report for possible review or airplay that I am about 2 months behind in listening to it all so if you have recently submitted music please have patience, I will get to it!

Once again we kind of roam around the world in search of amazing rock and roll from either bands who are unsigned or signed to independent record labels and this podcast’s crop is simply amazing. From the straight up rock and roll of Shake Me to the thunder of What You’re Doing To Me to the beauty of Rain, I think this week’s show captures a lot of what I love about rock and roll.

<itunes:summary>The 51st edition of the Rock and Roll Report Podcast proudly boasts no bands that have been previously played before proving the adage once again that there is just so much incredible rock and roll out there to be had if you dig down and search for it. As a matter of fact, there is so much great rock and roll out there and that has been submitted to the Rock and Roll Report for possible review or airplay that I am about 2 months behind in listening to it all so if you have recently submitted music please have patience, I will get to it!

Once again we kind of roam around the world in search of amazing rock and roll from either bands who are unsigned or signed to independent record labels and this podcast's crop is simply amazing. From the straight up rock and roll of Shake Me to the thunder of What You're Doing To Me to the beauty of Rain, I think this week's show captures a lot of what I love about rock and roll.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a struggle getting things out every week so to make up for it I decided to look back at the last 49 podcasts and present to you a healthy dose of amazing rock and roll that I have played since the podcast debuted in November, 2007.

Now my original list was 111 songs long so I had to drastically pare that down but since I love everything I play even that was difficult so consider this a taste of what has gone on in the past on the Rock and Roll Report Podcast. On the next one I will go back to all new music from a bunch of very cool bands and musicians that are either unsigned or are signed to an independent record label but they all rock with the best of them but for this one, its a look back.

Listen carefully to this week’s mega-edition of the podcast. In the last segment where I am talking if you listen closely you can hear when my son Zack decided to empty out my coin jar from my dresser and start pouring the pennies, quarters and guitar picks back into it when he is done. He picked the perfect time to start counting my money! LOL

I have tons of new music to listen to and absorb and it still amazes me to this day how so much great music is not picked up by mainstream media but such is life. We podcasters and bloggers will pick up the torch and carry it high.

<itunes:summary>These last few weeks have played havoc with my podcasting schedule as so much non-Rock and Roll Report stuff has gone down that I just haven't had the chance to put together a string of weekly podcasts for what seems like forever. Hopefully as things calm down I will be able to get back to a more consistent schedule but until that time I really do apologize for the erratic schedule and I thank you all for subscribing and listening to the show.

I have tons of new music to listen to and absorb and it still amazes me to this day how so much great music is not picked up by mainstream media but such is life. We podcasters and bloggers will pick up the torch and carry it high.

A lot of Canadian bands in this week’s podcast (yay!) but Canadian or not I am sure you will agree that this is just full out great rock and roll.

It is important in this day and age to not settle for what is being fed to you by mainstream media as it tends to be either bland commercial pap or the same old rock and roll your dad was listening to while washing his car before his big date in 1978. Make sure you explore all that is amazing online or in your local independent music store. Your ears will never be happier.

<itunes:summary>After missing a week due to all kinds of Rock and Roll Report related madness the podcast is back this week to fill your ears with some true rock and roll goodness. A lot of Canadian bands in this week's podcast (yay!) but Canadian or not I am sure you will agree that this is just full out great rock and roll.

This week’s podcast should definitely be played loud, except for the last song by Jim Boggia which you might want to listen to on a good set of headphones. It features only 2 bands that I have played before but the cool thing about this podcast is that again I got some help from both the Rock Princess and Intense Nick in putting it together.
