Normally 172 month-old Sarah is pretty busy. But when she’s hanging around the house there’s a fair chance she has a cat and a screen.  Either of the cats will do. There are always friends to text or FaceTime. Our phone carrier says thousands of text a month!

Sarah got some new sneakers during her 172nd month.

She took a selfie with me at the park when Auntie Christine visited last month. The weather was great!.

Sarah’s month was super busy – she wrapped up this season’s cookie booths.  She also did sleepovers and a birthday party with friends and also found the time to do a Theatre Program improv show at her school. She also went to a 1990s themed dance at school! All the things.

Sarah also got to spend a weekend at Carolina Beach with us. We had a VRBO and got to watch the ocean and eat all the food. It was a busy one hundred seventy-second month!

Here’s the face of 18 years’ worth of months old Aftervictory posts. Ted’s looking good here at Clemmons State Forest. We took a walk out there while Auntie Christine was visiting us.

Like most birthdays, Auntie flew down to visit and we had all hung out for the weekend. Ted got cool video game related gear, clothes, and his favorite mint frosting chocolate cake!

Ted also had a birthday party with his pals from DnD/school. There was lots of eating junk food, video games, and some badminton. [L-R Apollow, Owen, Ted, Atticus, Jacob, Abdul]

Earlier in the month Ted and I went to Frankie’s Fun Park and gamed it up for an afternoon! We played some games and turned in tickets for candy, as one does. It was spring break week and too much of it was spent on homework, but we had to get out and have a little fun.

In other 216 month old news:

• Ted was sick last month for almost a week, no fun at all.
• He spent a long weekend with us at Carolina Beach.
• Has been very into making music lately on the computer and is super good at it! Like it all sounds like professional video game music! He’s shown me how to make songs with it and is fun experimenting with loops and tracks. This’ll definitely be something he can use when he’s at his new school next year building video games.

We don’t really have a traditional snow shovel, so we did the best we could with the tools (broom, mulch shovel) we had.

Someone in the neighborhood used a drone to get some footage of the streets heading towards Raleigh.

It’s kind of her favorite thing right now, and helps that a lot of her school friends are in the club with her (either on stage or behind the scenes).

She’s very lucky to have had a great theatre program, Ms. Gonazales (middle here) all three years she’s been at Innovation Academy.

A lot of Sarah’s 171st month was spent getting ready for her performance as Mr Tumnus from The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. She did an outstanding job, speaking in a British accent and being a forest creature the whole time. She worked really hard in rehearsal and nailed it in each of her three performances. This play was part of her school’s  theatre club.

Sarah’s mom also worked very hard getting her hair set up for it. Lots and lots of hair clips shaped her hair into some horns (Mr Tumnus is a magical creature, a faun, who has horns).

She also got nearly a week off from school after some crazy snow fell in our area. There was sledding and some snowmen. Snow like this is a rare thing in North Carolina.

Sarah’s 171st month was also filled with sleepovers with friends, Girl Scout cookie booths, and a post-play all-you-can-eat pizza outing with her theatre friends.

When she’s at home hanging out, Sarah likes to spend time with the cats, draw pictures on her iPad, text her pals, and watch Youtube.

Pretty chill 215th month all around – and especially chill for about a week in February when we got 4-5″ of snow. Ted did get some sledding time, a rarity in central North Carolina. Both kids were out of school for the better part of a week.

It was also a chill month because our HVAC was having trouble for a good chunk of it. I don’t think Ted noticed because his hair keeps him warm, but the rest of us did. All fixed now.

School is always busy for him still – lots of studying and homework. He’s been driving there/back most days (and doesn’t care for late-night drives after DnD club). So far we’ve been pretty lucky with most of his school commute being battery powered, so no gas needed.

As I type this, he’s helping Kate start to play an Animal Crossing video game she hasn’t tried before. Definitely one of his qualities – he would like you to try a new game!

Ted’s schedule this semester means he can pick up Sarah from school sometimes (which she loves). The kids drove to the local bakery for a cookie run.
