In honor of the 2012 Academy Awards®, Tiffany & Co. has collaborated with fashion icon/celebrity stylist/tv star Rachel Zoe, to create window displays highlighting decades of Hollywood glamour from the 1930s through the 1970s. Ms Zoe’s windows are unveiled a few days ago at Tiffany & Co. flagship stores in New York City, Beverly Hills, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. So yes! We are one of the lucky countries who are able to see Rachel Zoe’s visual styling work for the jewelry brand.

If you happened to be in town do drop by and have a look! The local flagship store is located at Takashimaya Shopping Center #01- 05/06 & #02-05/06 Ngee Ann City.

Today’s look: Wonder Anatomie

What I wore to the W.E.D. (Wear Emerging Designers) event by BLUEPRINT during Social Media Week – my current favorite Thai designer Wonder Anatomie‘s work.

I walked passed his shop at Siam Center and I nearly died in workmanship heaven. The pieces look very intricate yet extremely neat and yes, the designer takes two to three hours to complete one top like this. There’s a certain feel-good vibe I get when I wear clothes like this and it makes me remember why I adore and love talented young emerging designers so much.

Christy Turlington in Harper’s Bazaar Singapore

If a supermodel is going to appear in a local magazine, you can trust Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore to deliver the goods. After working with Cindy Crawford in LA for last year’s September issue, the crew (Fashion Director Kenneth Goh and stylist Windy Aulia) was all the way in New York to shoot Christy Turlington. The veteran supermodel was huge since the 90s and she is also known for being part of “The Trinity” – together with Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell.

Christy donned a chic short wig and worked her magic for this super sporty editorial that made her look way younger than her 43 years of age. Clothes from Tod’s and American Apparel are heavily featured.

Other than the Christy spread, the BAZAAR team also have another shoot done in NYC as they tweeted “BAZAAR’S NYC shoots in: 200kg ofclothes, 11 days, 10 subzero degrees, 4 studios.” That definitely sounds like effort, and a lot of work.

This issue is on newsstands now, do grab a copy when you can! In the mean time, guess who’s going to be on the cover of this year’s September issue of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore?

Watch this face: Kolfinna Kristófersdóttir

Once in a while the the modeling world gets rocked by one exotic ingenue from Scandinavia who takes the fashion week by storm by simply being very very different and unique looking. Kolfinna Kristófersdóttir, from Iceland (yeah first reaction – where BJORK came from!) and signed with NEXT worldwide just opened and closed Christopher Kane. Which means powerhouse casting director Russell Marsh, likes her. Which means she might be walking for, Prada or Miu miu. Which means she’s might be huge, going to explode this season etc.

One thing for sure, the washed-off, pale skeletal, platinum blonde look is far gone, out of trend already. Patricia van der Vliet, Caitlin Lomax and Arizona Muse are a few models who have swapped to short and black for the new season, boyish and angsty enough to be Freja 2.0

In the mean time, keep an eye out for Kolfinna, super mysterious and yes, tres exotic!

The Ever Changing Face of Beauty by Sølve Sundsbø

I have always been a huge fan of Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø‘s work. Whilst many photographers tend to make people and objects plastic-y, Sølve’s unique use of shadow and light simply makes his photographs super sleek, yet light and ethereal, but most importantly, they look real. There’s always a certain sense of softness and fragility in his work.

I am loving his latest series “The Ever Changing Face of Beauty” featured in the March issue of W Magazine – supermodel Lara Stone is separated into pieces and juxtaposed against men, animals and nature, producing five different themes. It feels very artistic yet futuristic, and different and thoughtful at the same time. Love it!

Ostwald Helgason – label to watch

Every season there’re dozens of amazing new designers making their debut, this time round I am particularly looking forward to seeing London-based up-and-coming label Ostwald Helgason. Why? 1) Susie Bubble chose to wear the label at the British Fashion Awards 2) stockists includes fashion powerhouse Opening Ceremony 3) they are coming to Singapore for the BLUEPRINT trade show this year.

Their Stateside debut, the Fall/Winter 12/13 collection, has a range of unique screen-printed sweaters that many editors seemed to covet after seeing it. They are famous for their prints when they started out, but it is also great to see what they can offer for a cold season collection. After their presentation, the label is featured in almost every major media outlet from WWD to Vogue.com to Style.com… I seriously can’t wait to see their work unclose during BLUEPRINT later this year!

Can’t wait to get your hands on a piece of Topshop X Mary Katrantzou? Here’s the full collection: lookbook + product images. The line, which includes tops, dresses and a scarf will arrive in Singapore on Saturday 10 March with prices going from S$149 to S$809. Looks set to be the next Topshop designer collaboration that will drum up as much buzz as the Christopher Kane one a few years ago.
