big day out

Well it began a very chilly morning and as Ralph lay snuggled in his PJ’s and blanket I was making my way to Portside for the Boutique Markets for the Big Day Out.

Once warmed up with a coffee from fellow marketeer Katie from Baby Bird Clothing the people began to walk through snapping up bargains. All the stalls looked fabulous and with the petting zoo and sandman there was plenty to do for all the children.

We met alot of fabulous dogs that entered the best dressed competition and had there photo taken by Serenah Photography. We also sold many yummy cupcakes, dashing bones and gingerbred cookies to so many pooch loving owners.

Lunch time rolled in and it was time for the fashion parade, we had three walks on the red carpet and each of the dogs looked fabulous in there garments.

Tomorrow the Boutique Markets are holding a BIG DAY OUT for kids and pets. Rocstar Dog Boutique will be featured in the fashion parade at 12pm. Red, Ralph, Lola and Rafter will be showcasing some the latest products available – plus we will have delicious treats available on the day for the pooches.

KIDS & PETS BIG DAY OUT AT THE JUNE BOUTIQUE MARKETS

The Kids and Pets Big Day Out at the Boutique Markets will feature children’s and dog fashion parades from stallholders, an animal farm, colouring competitions, roving performers and the always popular sand wizard (colouring in with coloured sands).

There is also the opportunity to show off your treasured pet in the ‘Best Dressed Pet’ competition with the opportunity to win a $100 Boutique Markets voucher and a ‘Doggy Pamper Pack’ from stallholder and creator of dog accessories and gourmet biscuits, Rocstar.

Entry is free and the Boutique Markets is encouraging visitors to make a gold coin donation to support the recipient charity, Guide Dogs Queensland for participation in with the colouring competitions and to enter the ‘Best Dressed Pet’ competition.

Making a special appearance will be world-renowned animal communicator Liza Callen who will be conducting readings on pets either at the Boutique Markets on the day or via a photograph at the discounted price of $25 for 15 minutes.

fab day out in hamilton

Ralph and I grim and beared the dark grey skys and drizzling rain to spend the day at the BrisStyle markets in Hamilton today. Ralph dressed in his funky skull and crossbone rain jacket spent most of the day in his nice warm bed while I chatted to the fabulous people who also feared the rain. The only time he popped his head out was to say hello to the kids and scout for the peice of sausages dropped by passerbys. Oh the joys of owning a dachshund.

Lucky enough the rain subsided until right on leaving and as we walked up Racecourse Rd in the rain, Ralph managed to make the people on the street smile as he strutted his stuff in his waterproof jacket and bandana.

We had a lot of rain overnight and it wasnt much of a nice day. I have been planning jackets for the new season and heres some pictures of my mums new pvc jackets which she made. This cute lime green and yellow jacket has a matching hat which looks so cute on.

There is also some other styles in bright blue pvc and they will all be available online and at the Portside Markets this coming Sunday (14th Valentines day).

So we hope to see you all down there!

We have been busy in the kitchen making treats for our dogs and I stumbled accross this faboulous dog treat recipe for banana biscotti – its faboulous and I have tried it myself! So after the Roc n Ralph test and a paw high five from each we are now selling it at the markets and online at:Banana BiscottiI hope you enjoy – we will have faboulous Valentine treats available also which will be on sale shortly.

We have had so much rain the backyard has grown so fast over the holiday, it is nice seeing it so green for a change. Granted, the grass only really comes up to Rocco’s ankles, tracking through the yard is a bit more work for the little guy.
