New Diary Video: Check Out My Booty Meat!!

Let me ask you something? Have you ever searched YouTube for "Booty Meat"?

If you haven't, I suggest you do. You'll be shocked--the booty meat crazy has swept the country!!

It's all based on Soulja Boy's newest hit song, "Booty Meat." Basically, Soulja Boy wants all the ladies to shake their booty meat--and as you can see on YouTube, they definitely are.

There's only one thing missing from this equation: guys. Where are all the hot guys shaking their booty meat?

That's where Rod comes in! I am truly a pioneer. I was checking out some booty meat videos a few weeks ago, when I thought to myself, "why not do one myself?" So I did. And it's only a matter of time before it pops off bigger than any other booty meat video on YouTube.

New Diary Video: I'm Getting Social with my Networking!

Wow, I lost so much track of time, I haven't even had a chance to give you the inside scoop on my latest diary vid (watch it above).

This one focuses on my social networking and marketing efforts. As you guys can tell from my growing Facebook and Twitter pages, it's paying off big time! Trump status is close at hand!!

You are obviously reading this post right now, so you're already aware of RodMasters.info. Seriously--what a freaking deal I got on this website! There's no better bargain out there than 89 cents for a web domain, especially when it's a ".info" site. After all, ".info" is the fastest growing top-level domain on the web! If you don't believe, me Google it! Screw paying 20 bucks for ".com" when you can get a sweet deal like that. I'm gettin' on that wave before it hits the beach!

Another conversation starter in this video is my "Rod Masters.info" t-shirt. I've already had several e-mails from people inquiring if they can buy one for me. That thing is definitely driving traffic to this site. With 12 million people in the City of Chicago alone (not even counting the metro area, I feel you Evanston!), I'm like a walking billboard for this blog. I can't tell you how many comments I've gotten on the "L" or on the bus. People really notice my shirt. And yes, I am dedicated--I even wear it over the Winter gear.

One downside of the shirt that you see in the video is that it didn't have "www" in front of the domain. Since ".info" is an expanding genre of websites, not everybody's familiar yet with it. I went back to the Jive Monkey the other day and had them put on those three letters! I even had the website put on the back of the t-shirt so people can see the address no matter which way I'm facing. That's old-school marketing, but it's effective!

I will to continue to work on expanding my marketing for my future endeavors, but in the meantime, hit me up on this blog, Facebook or Twitter!

More Diaries in the Can!

I've neglected the blog for several days, but with good reason--we've been doing more filming for the diary series and I just haven't had time to write!!

This round of filming was definitely a mixed bag. There will be some high moments and some low moments. The last few days of shooting have really left me down in the dumps and questioning my future. I'm hoping some things that happened during those days don't make the final cuts.

On the bright side, there were some great things filmed before the past few days. The high point for me will be seeing a new concept I've created that will be bigger than Harry Potter! I know Alex will make it come to life on film!

So after several days of trudging around Chicago filming, I'm definitely excited to see what comes next. The coming weeks should be full of Rod Masters on YouTube, so check it out. It's hot stuff!!

My Business Plan: Strippers for All!

A while back on the blog I said I'd let you guys in on my business plan after some more of the videos came out--I didn't want to steal their thunder. Now that the cat's out of the bag, I can give you more details!!

Picture this: it's a few days before your good friend's wedding. You're the best man or the maid of honor. All of a sudden, PANIC! You realize you haven't planned the bachelor or bachelorette party. DISASTER!

You're nervous--you don't know what to do! You know there should be a party, you know there should be alcohol, but beyond that, you're stumped. What kind of entertainment will you get? Questions abound!!

That's where I step in. You happen across some of my marketing or one of my advertisements, and you call me. You're probably thinking, "this Rod guy looks pretty popular, there's no way I'll get him on short notice." That's where you're wrong.

My goal is to provide the general public with ON DEMAND stripping services. Hour before your kid's Bar Mitzvah and you need a sexy dancer? Boom, Rod (or one of my associates) is there! We're like the Roto-Rooter of stripping services. We can be there in a pinch and stave off disaster. Male or female, it doesn't matter.

So that's my plan--to provide stripping services to parties no matter how soon they are. I figure, with that kind of service, word of mouth will grow. Sure, Rod Masters Inc. will be just me at first, but the growth will be explosive. We'll go from a mom-and-pop stripping service, to initial public offering to multinational corporation in no time! Believe that!

Mail Stripper Fail: Ha, ha, very funny.

So I gotta admit it--Alex got me with this one.

He took some of the footage from my photoshoot where I was trying to get out of my army pants, and posted a video on YouTube called "Mail Stripper Fail." Har-dee-har-har.

But you know what? I'm not mad about it. Whatever it takes to get my name out there. "Fail" videos are hot right now, so if people see that and come to the blog, so be it! More exposure equals more revenue for Rod Masters, Inc.

Let me also say this: THAT COSTUME IS NOT A FAIL. The pants are super sexay, but I just haven't had enough practice getting them off yet. A few more weeks and I'll be golden. I pride myself on having authentic costumes, and those are AUTHENTIC army sweats. Authentic doesn't always mean optimal for stripping, but I'll figure it out.

Diary of a Male Stripper 6: My Sexy Photoshoot!

Time to give you guys the inside scoop on episode six of my diary and the featured photoshoot! I think this is the best video so far.

It's so hard to know where to start. I had a TON of fun with the costumes, and I think some of them are going to be very valuable as I move into private parties. If I had to rank the costumes in order of sexiness, I'd go with this:

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, "but Rod, I didn't see half those costumes in the video!" Well, don't worry--Alex has more videos of the photoshoot that will be coming out over the next few weeks, so you'll get to see ALL of my costumes. They are sooooo hot!!

Also, you'll note in the video that my photographer, Kenn (the best photog in the biz!), said he didn't like a few of my costumes--specifically the sexy librarian, sexy army/navy/marines guy and the angel costume. I gotta tell you guys, he was just giving me a hard time!!! No way anyone would think those costumes weren't sexy. Look how high I have them ranked in my list.

Teacher In Trouble for Facebook Photo with Male Stripper

Will the persecution and the demonization of male strippers never end?

Word is out that a female teacher in Brownsville, Pennsylvania (pictured above, pretty sweet huh?) has been suspended because someone posted a picture of her with a male stripper on Facebook. From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Brownsville Area School District Superintendent Philip J. Savini Jr. imposed the 30-day suspension in early January, said school board President R.W. "Rocky" Brashear.

Students — including some at the elementary level — were among those who saw the photos and notified administrators, Brashear said.

Savini did not return a phone call yesterday. Brashear said he has seen the photos and supports Savini's decision. The teacher is fully clothed, and no students were present when the photos were taken, but Brashear said the woman is depicted in a sexually suggestive pose with the stripper.

What a load of crap! Thankfully, the ACLU is stepping in to protest. Finally SOMEONE stands up against this male stripper backlash. There's NOTHING wrong with a teacher going to a strip club to see some hot guys. Especially if she lives in a place that looks like that picture. She NEEDS entertainment. She can't help it if one of her friends posts a picture and tags her on Facebook. What a joke!

It's sad that society considers male strippers so awful that they'd suspend someone from their job for hanging out with us and enjoying the show we put on. I'm definitely going to put in a call to the United States Male Stripper Congress on this one, and see if we can't help out the ACLU's efforts. If you're on board, flood the Brownsville school district with phone calls and show your support for this teacher! I know I'll be making one. You don't mess with the male stripper lobby like this!

Diary of a Male Stripper 5: A Turning Point

I've been really hesitant to write about the newest video diary. It's kind of had me in a funk all week. Once I saw it, I didn't even feel like posting on the blog for a while.

As you know, Alex had free reign with these videos, but I hoped he wouldn't use this clip, and he did. He told me he feels it's an important part of telling my story, so I guess I should come clean.

A while back, I mentioned in one of my posts that the economy was not hurting my business. I lied. Yes, the economy has been hurting me. Yes, that's why I'm looking for a discount on rent. And yes, that's even why I try to eat cheaply.

It's tough right now, but in time, my frugality will pay off. In fact, there have been a lot of stories on the news about how "cheap is chic." So I know I'm not the only one out there feeling bruised by the recession.

What's really funny to me is that a bunch of people out there keep saying that the recession is over. I even read in the newspaper yesterday GDP was up 5.7 percent last quarter. Whoop-tee-do! Tell that to John Q. Stripper who's working the stage at an empty club.

My plan of attack is to change my business. That's the reason I've been trying to move into private parties. I've heard there's more money in it. So I'm working on that right now, as you'll see in upcoming videos.

Despite the hard times, I'm staying positive. Rod Masters, Inc. will grow. I will be my own boss. I'm hopeful that in a few years time, you'll see my name on the side of a high-rise in downtown Chicago!

So yeah, to everyone out there who's having a tough time right now--especially in the stripping business--I feel you. Like Biggie said, "keep ya head up!"

My New Motto: Be Your Own Boss!

That's right. I said it. Be your own boss!

Right about now, you're saying, "Rod, what does that mean? Are you trying to hook me on some crazy multi-level marketing scheme?"

The answer to that question is a resounding "NO!" This isn't some kind of Amway crap! What I'm saying is this: never be afraid to start your own business.

As a male stripper, you're always kind of self-employed. Still, you're working at clubs, and you've got bosses to deal with. But as I continue to build Rod Masters Inc., I'm realizing I may not have to deal with bosses much longer.

Building my own multinational corporation is going to take time, but it will be worth the sacrifice. I can go to work when I want. Heck, I can work from home. I won't be constrained by some other person's schedule.

Sure, I may not have fancy benefits like health insurance or a retirement plan at the moment, but I do have one thing the nine-to-fivers don't. That's EARNING POTENTIAL. Seriously--a multinational corporation that provides stripping services will eventually give me the power to buy those Cadillac insurance programs I always hear Washington politicians talking about. Until then, I can always just hit up the free clinic, or in case of an emergency, set up a payment plan. And as for a retirement plan...my retirement plan is called President, CEO, COO and Chairman of Rod Masters Inc.! With the salary and stock options I'll be pulling in, I won't need a retirement plan.

So I urge all of you readers out there to follow me and start your own business, too! It's a leap of faith, and you may fail, but in the end, you'll be glad you tried, even if you end up living on your friend's couch for a while. As my idol Donald Trump knows, there's no better feeling than being a self-made man or woman. I plan to find out what that feels like very soon. How about you?

Get Stoked for your job, too!

Some of you may have seen the video above--it chronicles how I get stoked for work.

In my profession, you've got to be on EVERY night. There are no off nights at the strip club or at a party. People pay their hard earned dough to see me dance, and I ALWAYS deliver.

I like to do some quick exercise before I hit the club. Squats, pushups, jumping jacks, etc. Sometimes I even go for a quick run. That's what gets my blood pumping.

You can do the same, too. It doesn't matter what your job is: male stripper, professional MMA fighter, secretary, construction worker, underwater welder, etc. You've got to be in the right state of mind before you walk out that door.

So whatever it is that gets you pumped up, do it. Drink your coffee, get some exercise, read a book. Just don't be one of those people who comes into work half asleep. I've seen that happen at the club, and it's NOT pretty. The same is true at your office. If you want to get ahead, get STOKED!!!

Diary of a Male Stripper 4: Chef Rod

Episode four of my diary is officially on YouTube. This time, it chronicles my nightly cooking routine.

As you've seen from my photos, I keep myself in top-notch shape. Of course, exercise is important. You've got to hit up the cardio and the weights. But many times, the overlooked piece of the equation is diet: you can't just workout and be ripped. You've got to watch what you eat.

That's why I keep it lean in the kitchen. This video features my favorite meal--Maruchan instant ramen and tuna straight out of the can. I can't think of a better meal if you're looking to get shredded. It's a definite protein jolt--not only does the tuna give you TONS of protein, but you also get it in the chicken flavor that comes with the Ramen. Heck, you could probably cook the ramen, put it in a blender with the tuna, and sell it as a nutrition shake. That's how PERFECT a meal this is. When you eat it, it's almost like you can feel your abs getting stronger. Washboard city, baby!!

The added benefit of this meal is the cost savings--I can pick up tons of tuna and ramen for next to nothing at the Dollar Store. I pretty much eat this meal five to six nights a week. Sometimes on Sunday I'll splurge and eat a couple of peanut butter sandwiches as a treat.

So there you have it--my inside take on episode four. I hope you guys are enjoying all the vids. Alex tells me another episode will be out on Wednesday or Thursday, so start looking forward to it now.

Lebanon's First Male Stripper? Awesome!

As you all know, I'm ALWAYS monitoring the media for stories about male stripping. I don't just stop in the U.S., though--I check out what's going on worldwide!

Today is no different. I just read a story about Lebanon's FIRST male stripper, Jamil Daher. Talk about an untapped market! Perhaps I should consider a trip to Beirut.

Get this. The guy is big on costumes, just like me! Here's what he had to say about his various get-ups:

"I have many outfits: I can be a gentlemen, waiter, cowboy, mechanic, pilot or teacher, but the most popular is the policeman," he says laughing. "Everyone likes to be handcuffed."

I like the waiter and mechanic--those are definitely good ideas I haven't tried out yet. I may have to get this Jamil's e-mail address and exchange war stories with him.

If I could give this guy any advice, it would be to shake off the haters. There's always going to be people who don't respect male strippers, so just ignore them. It's clear the Lebanese ladies are down for this guy, so who cares what a few losers think!

I'd also tell him to consider expanding to surrounding nations. Lebanon is an untapped market, but it's not that big. Eventually, he'll need to cross borders. Just looking at a map, it's clear there are several options: Jordan, Syria, Israel and Palestine would probably all be perfect for the expansion of his stripping business.

Finally, I'd tell Jamil this: I'm proud of you, man. Penetrating a new market takes guts. This guy's clearly got the gusto and the attitude to make it big. Jamil, if you're ever tired of stripping in Lebanon, just head my way; there will always be a place for you in Rod Masters, Inc.!

Diary of a Male Stripper 3: My New Pad

The newest episode of my Diary is out, and it focuses on my new living situation.

I can tell you up front I'm REALLY digging this pad. It may look small, but it's darn cozy! The $100 price tag allows me to save up money for Rod Masters, Inc. It's definitely helped me save money for my marketing--I mean, look, I've been able to purchase my own ".info" domain!

And yes, it was a pantry. Key phrase was. This was filmed a few weeks ago. I'll have you know the pantry items have now been moved out and I've been able to put my personal belongings on the shelves. It's nice to see my Donald Trump book collection up there!! I also enjoying having the cat in there to keep me company sometimes. He's the perfect pick-me-up on a rainy day.

I will say sleeping on the yoga mat has taken some getting used to, but after a few weeks, I'm just like Justin Timberlake--I'm lovin' it! Every time I lay down on that mat, I feel like I'm in heaven. That heavenly feeling not only inspired the idea for my sexy angel outfit, but also the idea for my sexy yogi outfit! So it's been win-win! Ideas like that don't just pop off every day. On top of that, my back is feeling stronger than ever!

Before I finish up this post, I want to address one thing. People keep asking me if the economy is affecting my business. As you saw in the video, Alex even asked me during the filming. But that's not the case. Maybe things have been a little slower, but when you're one of the most popular strippers out there, you're always in demand! So bottom line, my affordable living situation has nothing to do with the economy--it's all about raising capital for me, myself and I.

If you think I'm being a miser, that's fine. But I take my inspiration from the Donald himself. Trump once talked about his life, and said, "A little more moderation would be good. Of course, my life hasn't exactly been one of moderation." Right there, I think Trump is telling you something from the bottom of his soul: save up as much money as you can. He's striking a regretful tone--if he had have saved up more money early on, he'd have double his net worth right now. So that's what I'm doing. Stackin' chips and building my biz.

Male Stripping is in! Just Ask Channing Tatum!

That's right--mega star Channing Tatum was once a male stripper, and he wants to make a movie about it!!

Perhaps this is the first sign that male strippers are starting to earn some respect in this great nation. If a guy like Channing Tatum is willing to come forward and talk frankly about the importance of male strippers, perhaps we as a group can begin to change people's notions about our profession!

As you know, I've called for equal rights for strippers. Some people think I'm kidding, but I'm not. We get no benefits and we're considered independent contractors. We're forced to pay into Social Security via the self-employment tax, but we'll never see a whiff of that money. I've even heard that some strippers have to deal with poor work conditions, including cold rooms and clients who get touchy feely. I heard a rumor about one stripper in LA who was subjected to dancing on a stage where alcoholic beverages had been spilled! He was a trooper, and tried to dance through it, but ended up slipping and breaking his neck. Those conditions aren't even good enough for a coal miner, so why should we, as male strippers, put up with them?

Kudos to Channing for speaking out for stripper's rights. Perhaps he'll even become an honorary member of the U.S.M.S.C.!

I also take heart in knowing Channing has gone from male stripper to Hollywood star! If he can do it, so can I! Sky's the limit!! Rod 2010!!!

Diary of a Male Stripper 2: Rod Finds Fame!

Wow, it's almost tough to keep up with all the videos Alex has been putting out. Today's edition of my diary focuses on my recent appearance on the cover of the entertainment section of a local gay newspaper!

I had no idea that was going to happen. Right after my buddy texted me about it, I saw one just laying in the gutter on the side of North Ave. in Wicker Park. It was pretty crazy--I was literally someone's trash. I felt a little disrespected, but then I realized what that kind of exposure could do for me. It was a pretty exciting revelation.

After marinating on that picture, I knew I had to step it up! That's when I became driven to start Rod Masters, Inc.

As you heard in the video, my original business plan was that my company would provide strippers to clubs nationwide. Things have changed since then. It's just me right now, but in the next couple of years, I plan on adding more strippers to my service. Male, female, whatever. Rod Masters, Inc. will be your one-stop shop for stripping services!!That will probably still happen in the future, but right now, I'm focusing on providing services to private parties.

You'll see the progression of my business as these videos come out, so I won't go into much explanation--don't want to spoil the diaries!

Rod's Pic of the Week: Sexy Yogi!

Yoga is quite the phenomenon right now. As I've learned from business greats like Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki, when something's hot, you jump on board and take advantage!!

That's what the sexy yogi costume is all about. I see this one being a big hit at parties for middle-aged women. A lot of them are really into yoga, and have no doubt imagined a time when they learned down dog from a handsome yogi. I can deliver that fantasy with this costume.

Please Respect the U.S.M.S.C.

Some of you may have seen the video extra above--basically, it's a call to arms.

I'm a member of the U.S.M.S.C., which stands for United States Male Stripper Congress. We're the closest thing there is to a "ruling body" in male stripping, but we're still a growing group. If you ask other male strippers in the know, they'll have heard of us. More than likely they've been turned down membership, because you don't just waltz in to the U.S.M.S.C.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of people out there who don't respect our group. As I stated in the video, there's even a lot of people who mistake us for the Marines. It seems like every time I wear my U.S.M.S.C. shirt, some guy walking down the street says, "Semper Fi!"

Now don't get things twisted--as you know, especially if you've seen some of my stripping outfits, I support the troops. But what I don't support are people not respecting this elite, professional group I'm a member of. So please, next time you see a guy in a U.S.M.S.C. shirt, give him a high five. He truly is sweating, bleeding and dying for our cause--and that's respect for all male strippers across this great land!!!!

My First Video: Diary of a Male Stripper 1: Meet Rod Masters!!!

For those of you out there that don't know, I'm going to be the subject of a series of videos on YouTube! As you can see above, the first video is officially up, and more will be coming in the next several weeks.

For the inside scoop on every video, you HAVE to check out this blog. I'll give you the inside story--and clear up any misconceptions you might have about me.

At first, I wasn't sure if the filmmaker wanted to be revealed--hence the "local filmmaker" post on my Twitter a while ago--but he's cool with it now. It's actually one of my good buddies from back in the day, Alex. He started following me just after Christmas, and has shot a ton of video since then. I've given him free reign to put together these videos as he sees fit--I've got no editorial say.

This first video is just an introduction. It lets you know what I'm about. You get a little bit of background on me, and I tell you about my job. Straightfoward stuff. You even get to see me show off some of my moves.

More videos are in the pipeline. Alex let me know there should be a few "extra" videos this week--stuff that hit the cutting room floor. Episode 2 will pop off next week and focus on some nice publicity that I got here in Chicago. Stay tuned and spread the Rod!

Getting Ready for 2010 with a PHOTOSHOOT!

I can't believe it's the LAST day of 2009, crazy it's already here. There were some setbacks in this past year, but I'm moving on, looking forward to the future.

My biggest focus of the year as a male stripper is to get my private party business going-- I'm talking bachelorette parties, special events, birthday parties, and yes, even bachelor parties for the gay guys. Any place I can get demand for my business, I will follow my customers to any lengths. Even in these economic times, entrepreneurs can thrive if they have a good business plan and execute it well, and I intend on being on of those business owners!

People always say... "You know, I don't think that's a good idea... is there really any money in being a male stripper, can you actually earn a living? It sounds really hard to make it in that field." Well, that's just a load of bull! Because you know what? It's hard to make it in ANY field! Success takes a vision, dedication, and lots of nail-hard work! Well, I've got all three nailed, like Kim Zmeskal on the balance beam!

I just finished a photo shoot last night, it was great! I had about 10 costumes prepared, so I can really appeal to all types of different party themes -- sexy cowboy, Mardi Gras party boy, sexy male angel, hot stud Army guy, sexy Navy sailor, sexy male librarian, hot soccer stud, hot yoga instructor, and others. Hot, hot, hot! The photographer, Kenny, was really cool-- super fun, great energy, really supportive and helpful. We really got great vibes going together, it was awesome! The photos are really hot, super sexy! I'm making fliers out of them to post around Chicago, to post on Facebook, Twitter, flickr, and of course, my blog! This marketing campaign will spread the word about ROD MASTERS, to really get some good vibes and publicity out there in the marketplace.

Bottom line: Rod Masters Inc. is on the prowl in 2010!!!!
