Design a Logo in Illustrator the Correct Way

Today our client is Yellow Hammer Tactical Training and we are going to show you the process of creating their logo design. The whole process took about 30 minutes but we shortened the video down for you. In the video, we start out in Adobe Illustrator creating the logo, then bring it into Photoshop to give it some pop for presentation to our client. Enjoy!

Bellatude Flyer

This project was a flyer graphic design for Bellatude in Mobile, Alabama. We worked with the PM Group owner Juan Peasant to design a wonderful flyer that would spread the message of their product. In the design, we wanted it to appeal to the older demographic for which the product is made.

In the end, the client was very satisfied with the result. Bellatude is an anti-aging/ anti-menopause cream that is sold by a company based in Mobile, Alabama.

Silver Star Classic Cars Cards

In the logo design section, we posted a website design and graphic design project for Silver Star Classic Car Services. Well, not only did we tackle the logo design for the Olathe, Kansas based company, we also gave them business cards with a pop.

For these cards, we did a spin on the logo we designed for them. We used Cinema 4D to bring the logo in and transform it into a 3D representation for this specific design. When it comes to 3D special effects, there is no substitute for the realism of raytracing, lighting and shadows that Cinema 4D offers, which is why we only used Photoshop for all the post compositing.

Swagged Out Shirts

Roman Empire Design got the chance to do this really cool t-shirt graphic design job for a local Mobile, Alabama client Swagged Out. We also got the chance to work with Medusa from Medusa’s Art & Soul by turning her illustrations into scaleable vector artwork for t-shirts. Each illustration was brought into Illustrator and redrawn by hand for maximum quality. Needless to say, some awesome shirts were made in this project. Meri M. Stockwell Cards

Lewis B. Gallery Cards

This is a business card design for our client Lewis B. Gallery located in midtown Mobile, Alabama. It’s always great designing artwork for people who really love art as much as we do, and we wanted to show them. So for this business card we had it printed with green foil to really make the green areas on the card shine.

Lewis B. Gallery loved the cards as well and ran out of them the first week while enjoying all of the business that they brought.

GoMaxit! Hummer & Brand

A great example of a complete graphic design and web design branding package that Roman Empire Design has put together would have to be Maxit. We completely revamped the image of the nutrition drink selling company and brought it up to date. We won’t lie, branding the Hummer was a blast. We got the chance to work with a nice woman named Lisa in Cleveland, Ohio who took our design and wrapped the vehicle with it, no problems.

A week later, we received calls from the client who was amazed at how many people saw his vehicle and approached him to ask about his business. The truck was doing a bit of work for him to a degree. We thanked him and flew away into the night, another job done.

DV8 Event Flyers

Event flyers are an important part of planning and organizing any event. Printed on thick card stock with high gloss, these flyers were eye catching enough to pack out the concert as the main means of promoting the event. The design reflects the grunge graphic design style of the night life scene and music industry.

We ordered 10,000 of them for maximum effectiveness.

JaguarArts.com Cards

As a part of the branding package for Jaguar Arts, we created these slick custom business cards for them. The cards are vertical in order to catch the eye better and were printed with rounded edges and a matte finish for simplicity. These cards have a subtle grace about them that speaks professionalism.

Rolls Royce Owners Club MA

Roman Empire Design was approached by the Rolls Royce Owner’s Club Mid America Region to do a website. We love Rolls Royce cars and we love websites, so of course we were excited. We needed something simple, yet luxurious for the website and brand, so we decided to go into Illustrator with a sketch of the Rolls Royce Prairie Lady they sent us and went from there.

We built the site on a WordPress platform for ease of end use, flexibility and scalability. The website needed to track event’s, run a blog, and manage users which was a breeze to incorporate. You can visit their site at RROCMA.com.

Edge Correl

Edge Correl is an e-commerce site built on a WordPress platform for the purpose of selling makeup. Roman Empire Design took on the project for a young lady named Amanda. When she started the job, she didn’t have much as far as branding for her company.

We got her going with a web logo and then, once she decided her colors, we built the site and everything around it.

When it comes to art, we must admit we have a soft spot. Call us crazy, but when JaguarArts.com wanted us to put the magic touch on a new logo design for their fine arts e-commerce website that we designed, we were more than happy to oblige.

The logo design is an example of a clean, subtle traditional design that simultaneously has a new flare to it. The script font implies a personalized feel for the artwork that they sell.

When we showed owner Joel Ponce the final draft of his brand new company brand, he was extremely excited about the design we did. JaguarArts.com has become a beautiful community and store where fans of the University of South Alabama Athletics go to purchase commemorative rare artwork that is custom painted and framed by JaguarArts.

Southern Stamping

This logo design was created in Illustrator by hand for our client Southern Stamping. Southern Stamping is based in the greater Mobile, Alabama area, and delivers its product all over the US. Southern Stamping manufactures high quality raw, chrome plated and stainless steel replacement bumpers for the heavy trucking industry. In search of an updated logo and an all around improvement in visual appeal, Southern Stamping approached Roman Empire Design to creatively revamp their brand.

This logo design allowed Southern Stamping to improve their image to clients, as well as to suppliers.

The logo gave staff the pride and assurance that their company is proactively recognizing the changes in their clients needs. At Roman Empire Design, we are proud to have been involved in implementing Southern Stamping’s creative vision.

Guardian Electric

Guardian Electrical Supply & Contracting needed a strong logo design that conveyed security and trust. The company is a Service Disabled Veteran-owned small business specializing in full service electrical acquisition, delivery, and implementation. Guardian Electrical can fulfill client’s needs in a wide range of electrical applications and necessities. Many of Guardian’s clients must adhere to strict Governmental regulations; a task that Guardian Electrical is not only willing, but eager and able to tackle.

They approached Roman Empire Design during the early stages of branding, allowing our full creative license in establishing the brand image. This is always a fun task for our designers because it allows us to work with founders and their visions while integrating our own professional creativity and guise.

Hunting and Fishing Pals United

All in all, we have six different logo designs for Hafpu, or Hunting and Fishing Pals United. Hafpu is a social website for outdoor enthusiasts. It is intended to connect people from all over with all the relevant information needed to be a successful hunter or fisher. The site boasts numerous videos and blogsfrom game hunters everywhere. It was this love for the game that inspired Hafpu’s logo. There are numerous variations that were created to give a different look for some of the popular hunting seasons, including a Bow Hunter, a Bear, and others shown below.The Hafpu team knew they needed a logo that would look good digitally as well as on merchandise, so they commissioned Roman Empire Design to help make it a reality.

Intergalactech

For Intergalactech’s logo, we needed to do something special for a tech computer and internet company. Can you recognize the tribute within the logo? It is a take at the Star Trek logo engrained in the heart of this logo for technology lovers everywhere.

This logo is a great example of comfort and familiarity. The logo is definitely it’s own entity but it has that hint of familiarity with the Star Trek logo just enough, that in a customers mind, they make that connection even if they don’t realize it.

Since we had to do a bit of sign work as well, we threw this bad boy into Cinema 4d and did some 3d graphics work which you can see at the end of this article. The results were quite nice!

Intergalactech is a technology and web based company in Mobile Alabama located on Cottage Hill Road and University Boulevard.

Coasties

The Coasties is the brainchild of a man named John Renfroe who decided that the residents of the Gulf Coast should have a way to proudly display their heritage. That’s why he commissioned Roman Empire Design to create the perfect logo design to look good on the back of any type of car window or t-shirt.

We built it, and the Gulf Coast came.

The logo contains all of the states that make up the gulf cost in the shape of a foot in the sand. Each toe is an island in the Florida Keys. The font was selected due to the feel of beachwear. Beaches are an essential part of the Gulf Coast and we can envision plenty of Coasties shirts at the beach!

Lewis B. Gallery

Lewis B Gallery, an Art and Collectibles gallery in Mobile Alabama, approached us for a logo in 2009. They have numerous local and national artists spotlighted in the gallery with products ranging from paintings to furniture, and anything else needed to spruce up clients home or office.

Lewis B called Roman Empire Design in order to create an effective logo that spoke to the members in the art community of Mobile’s Springhill district. The owner gave Roman Empire Design a clean slate to produce a logo that would portray the business in a clean and professional manner. Our designers chose the “Lewis B Guy” because we felt it portrayed the business in a classy yet playful manner.

Loyalty Music Group

We acquired the logo job for Loyalty Music and instantly knew what we wanted to do. The concept of loyalty and music go hand in hand, especially in the music and entertainment industry today. Being that we have plenty of experience in the media and music industries, we knew we had what it took to come through on this one.

The Man in the Hat. This is the concept where it all started. It was drawn directly into Illustrator, no sketch. After that, we added a modified font and had our logo design.

Once we presented the finished logo to Loyalty Music Management, they immediately fell in love with it. Another success story in the making. We delivered a logo that we were proud of as well as the client, which is important.

The logo is perfect for the music industry and will look great on CDs, t-shirts, and various other music products.

Meri M. Stockwell, LLC is a worldwide procurement firm based in Florida. Specializing in networking and procurement, they would require a logo that represented them as a trusting, international company.

Roman Empire Design used shades of blue and green in the logo design to instill the sense of trust with blue and the sense of being down to Earth with the green. The font is serious, but not too serious. The reason we included North America on the globe is because the company is international, but deals mostly with North American relationships.
