i can't decide if i like the noise/grain from shooting at iso 800 or if i should invest in noise ninja and take care of it. any thoughts?

and on a completely different note, can anyone recommend a 4-bay hard drive enclosure (sata), preferrably a nas device and supports JBOD? i have 2.5TB of hard drives sitting around unused, waiting for a good enclosure.

you may remember how webster went missing awhile back, and it turns out he just went on an extended vacation, without telling me.

so anyways... i've been hinting about some good news in regards to photography, and i've been waiting for everything to clear so i wouldn't jinx it. and so, here it is.

i've sold a photo. the photo of webster all wrapped up in duct tape (as a tribute to houser) will be appearing on the cover (!) of 5,000 to 10,000 copies of the book by ben marcus titled "Le silence selon Jane Dark" (translates to "the silence according to jane dark").

it is being published by 10|18 which is an imprint of univers poche and should be on shelves in october (in france). i've seen the mockup already for the cover and should have a copy of the book in september.

now... anyone want to teach me french?

this little guy had quite an adventurous saturday. while doing yardwork, a neighbor walking their dogs found this guy in my yard and was almost eaten by the dogs.

i got out my camera and started taking some pics og this guy. he wasn't too happy at some points, standing up and hissing/barking at me. but eventually he calmed down and let me snap some pics. but everytime he heard the shutter, he flinched.

he finally ran into the road, where i layed down on the ground and snapped a few more shots. my neighbor comes out, not knowing i had my camera with me and wondered what had happened.

i finally got him out of the road and took him back to my yard and left him near a tree. he's since gone, so i hope he's made it somewhere safe.

i know all of you have very busy lives, as do i, but please take a moment and read over this poster. there is a duck out there, cold and alone, somewhere on the harsh streets of erie, pennsylvania. he is scared, but tough, and needs your help.

can you spare a few moments and search for a small duck with the #19 written on his butt?

what do you get when you combine a tree, the sun, some water? another eeriely similar photograph from yours truly. i've done this same shot so many times, it seems like it's all i can do.
