Stop Making up Stories!!!

After a long dispute with chat support agents who keeps on telling us that our connection is ok, obviously because I kept on resetting the modem so many times for me to contact them, lots of phone calls to their tech support that can’t be reached, so I decided and went to visit one of their service centers in Ayala Cebu to ask them to send a technician to our home to check on our modem and finally got a replacement Modem.

Other than that, we’ve also been experiencing issues wherein our router seems to disconnect from the modem every now and then. It’s seems that the router is not compatible with it, I tried upgrading the firmware of the wireless router and it was doing the same thing. So I decided to do some tweaks, as one of my friends advised me to do is to try setting up a static IP for my wireless router and see if it would work, even if what we all know is that our ADSL Modems only provide dynamic IPs using dhcp server.

So I tried configuring my wireless router to use a static IP to boost up my wireless signal at home and avoid my router from disconnecting from the internet every now and then, and it worked. It’s just like your using your modem directly but you’re connected wirelessly using your router. I’m not sure if im making myself clear, but it worked out fine for me.

The not so step by step Instructions hehe;

ADSL Modem Status/Configuration:

ADSL Status

• On your Modem, check what the Default Gateway is:  (E.g. 192.168.254.1)
• The Default Username is User or Admin and Default Password is User or 3UJUh2VemEfUtesEchEC2d2e.
• The Default Gateway is pretty much the same to your ADSL Modem’s IP.
• On your Modem UI, go to Status, then ADSL Statistics

-          Under Status, Copy the IP Address(same as default Gateway)

-          Also Copy the Subnet Mask (Important)

Wireless Router:

Next is to access your Router’s UI, I have an Edimax router so configuration may differ, check your router’s guide.

• Open your Browser and Access your Router’s UI, Type 192.168.2.1 for most cases,
• Click on Quick Setup, choose Static IP then click next.
  

-          Enter the Modem IP Address on the Fixed IP Address box, but instead add to 2 zero’s on it.

• From 192.168.254.1 to 192.168.254.100

-          Enter the Subnet Mask you copied from the ADSL Modem on the Subnet Mask Box.

-          Enter the Default Gateway Address / Modem’s IP Address on the Default Gateway Address box and on the DNS Address Box.

-          Click Next to save the Entered Details,

-          Click on apply to continue, and then wait for your Router to restart.

Last thing you need to do, is to check if you can connect to the Internet using the settings applied.

For me, I’m not having issues anymore where my internet would disconnect.

Glad what I did helped me a lot, I can do work, browser and play at home without hassle anymore.

We hope to learn from parent friends, also from our own parent’s. Yvette’s mum and Dad are always available to support us when we need them, same goes with my family.

We are so eager to see our little Angel soon.. my first born child who i’m going to take care of for the rest of my life.

I’ll strive to become a great dad for my little kid, and his siblings that’ll soon to come.. hihih…

In a Statement, U.S Senator Harry Reid said on friday, “I’ve decided to postpone Tuesday’s vote on PIPA”.

Who knows if this U.S Bill will not be revised and will be push through again, let’s just all be strong to stand against this bill no matter what.
