TV Shows That I'm Currently Watching

It's holidays and yes we all do have a lot of time to spend and I've acquired a number of tv show to watch during my free time. Since some of it has already reached more than 5 season, I just watch any series I feel like watching without focusing on finishing one at a time.

Here's some that I'm currently watching :D

Community - About a group of people from different background and age in a study group going through their life as a college student in a community college. I really like this show a lot. Brilliant script, good story line and fresh comedic ideas. This show really made me love paintball a lot!

How I Met Your Mother - It's a story Ted telling his son and daughter about how he had met their mother. I watched this before but not the whole episodes, so here I am watching the series from season 1 episode 1. It's really hilarious and by far IMHO HIMYM is the closest to be Friends successor.

House M.D - Story about the genius of Dr. House and how he solved patient's medical condition. It's my all time favorite tv show. I don't understand much of the medical terms but Dr. House is like Sherlock Holmes in the medical world. I like solving mysteries and sarcasm :D

The Big Bang Theory - Story about 2 nerds with super IQ staying next door to a cute blondie. I'm still in season 1 of the show and I can tell you the show is super nerdy and geeky (which is funny also). I don't think I can catch up with much of the conversations but I will still give it a try. I lost in translation sometimes =/

Once Upon A Time - It's my newest collection of tv show and it's just started to air back in October 2011. It's an untold story of what happened next to Snow White after she and the prince charming got married. Well, so far that's what I known of. Just have to see how the show evolve :D

Movie Review: Underworld: Awakening (2012)

Fast Pace Gore Actions! 5/10

This 4th installment really reminds me of Blade II - more actions and less story telling. Not the best movie by itself but since I've watched the previous 3 movie before, and knowing that there will be a 5th installment afterwards, I think its just awesome to be able to watch Kate Beckinsale getting more physically kick ass in the series.

The reason the Underworld series works is Kate Beckinsale's portrayal of the all black clad, baddass Vampire Selene is just cool. She doesn't whine, moan, or sparkle she just kicks the butt of anyone who screws her over.

Cheongsam is Stylishly Hot!

Cheongsam or qipao is the Chinese traditional dress for women. It was created back in 1920s in Shanghai, and may I say this, the women back in those days sure knows how to brings out the best in God's creation.

Almost a century now, and the outfit still looks great on women, and with the modern days influence of fashion, cheongsam has been evolving in many styles that looks even better nowadays. It's Chinese New Year, so lets admire some beautiful girls in cheongsam :D

Cherish that Moment

It's Chinese New Year soon, and I just wanted to share a few thoughts with the young one. I have gone through life with no one ever telling me this in the past, and somehow I really wished someone did and maybe things could have been better today.

If you are a teen, a student or a working young adult and or still live with your parents, cherish that moment. I know you have been staying at home a lot and everyday you'll be seeing the face of your parents a lil' too often, and perhaps it was even too often that sometimes their presence there was insignificant to you. Don't let that be.

During Chinese New Year, stay a lil' longer at home, and dinner with your parents is very important. Try to have a conversation on the dinner table. Communicate with them, DO NOT play with your gadgets! Ignores calls or text from your friends, it's family time - cherish that moment!

You might think that it was like any other ordinary day at home, but its NOT, it's Chinese New Year and your parents expect something from you - your time. You can't tell what might happened in 5, 10 or 20 years down the road, and let not it be your worries also. What you have to do is cherish the moment you have with them now.

Working young adult, if you are not staying with your parents then GO HOME and spend time with them. Aside from spending time with them, honour them with your money too. It's not because your parents need it or wanted it, but it ought to be a blessing from your heart, to show respect and gratitude to them for raising you up all this while. Bless them and make them happy - cherish that moment.

Spend time and learn to honour your parents this Chinese New Year. Cherish every single moment that you have with them. They have done a lot for you, and you really have no idea what they have gone through till today. Love your parents - cherish that moment!

Not Going Home (Again)

I'm not going home for Chinese New Year's reunion dinner again, and I am really really dishearten about that. I have no idea how many reunion dinner or Christmas that I have missed out with my family, and the sad thing is, I'm not sure if it's all was worth it or not.

I've learn a lot throughout these years about life, work, friends and most importantly about family. I know some of you might not get it now, but don't learn the hard the way.

The priority is always God first, family second and then only came the rest. NEVER let your work, friends or any other matter takes your time for family away. Value your time with family, cause you are matter to them and they will always be there for you no matter what. So cherish your family.

I've repented. I'll learn to plan way ahead for Chinese New Year and Christmas, so that I can be home with my beloved family. I really miss my brother and my parents. God bless you all and take care.

Movie Review: Repo Men (2010)

Caught Me Off Guard! 5/10

The science fiction action-thriller film is based on a book Repossession Mambo by Eric Garcia. The movie is filled with actions and minor gore scenes. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker's performance deserve to be acknowledge for this movie, they indeed done a great job in carrying out their characters.

The plot is pretty simple with an unexpected twist which turns the movie into a love and hate relationship. Depends on how's your perception is toward the end, you will either hate the movie, or you'll like it.

Well, this is the quote from the movie that affect me a lot,

"At the end, a job is not just a job, is who you are, and if wanna change who you are, you have to change what you do..."

First Wall Climbing in 2012

Finally I am here again after my Wall Climbing: Triumph! back in December 2010! I always wanted to come back and take the climbing challenge again, but I guess I didn't able to make it happened at all in 2011. Thanks to my friend Shin Ying who is adventurous enough to want to give wall climbing a try. Also thanks to Kay and friends who is willing to allow these two beginners to join the climbers gang, haha :D

This would be the second time only I'm here, and my first climb to the top is way much better than my first achievement back in 2010. Out of 4 attempt this time, I only manage to complete 2 climbs only. Shin Ying on the other hand is her first time here, and out of her 4 attempt, she managed to complete all 4! Woohoo! Natural born climber :D

This wall climbing experience is really a good wake up call for me, it has helps me to realized how weak my mental state is. The reason why I can't complete the rest of the climb is because I keep believing that I couldn't go on anymore and that my hands were really too tired already.

Actually I'm just giving myself an excuse to give up after my second attempt which I only managed to climb 3/4 of the wall. To be honest, I really felt disappointed when I can't finish that climb, and to give up when I'm almost there already really speaks a lot into my mind. So I gave up my 3 attempt of climbing when I was just about to start.

I wasn't going to climb anymore after that but was 'force' to make the 4th climb and that is the moment when everyone there was cheering for me and giving me morale support to keep on going even when I felt like giving up half way of the climb. I'll never forget that moment, because somehow I manage to find my inner strength and believe with all my heart and mind that I can finish it. In the end I did and thanks to everyone there :D

If you have never tried wall climbing before, you should really give it a try. I don't know how but somehow it helps you to reflect more about your life, your personality, you true capability and its a self discovering stage at a different level. I would sure love to come back and challenge myself again. Mind over matter.

Sheryl Goh is An Honest Mistake

Its been a very long while since I feature any local artist in room8five. Well, after stumbled upon this band on Youtube, a lil' bit of ~~stalking~~ information here and there and I think I am ready to introduce to you Miss Sheryl Goh, on of the vocalist from the pop/punk band An Honest Mistake.

She only 19 this year (born January 6, 1993), and she can sing really well. I know cause I listen to her on Youtube HERE. You know how some band sounds really good in their album but you just get disappointed when you heard them live? Well Sheryl is not the case :D

Anyway, do support the band (or just her). Listen to them, comment, like, thumb up, stalk, follow, tweet, mention, share and do whatever you social media do best to spread the words. Better yet, get their album!

What Does 'OTW' Really Means?

Most of the time 'otw' is the acronym for 'on the way', which generally means that a person has already begun to accomplish a journey they are taking to a certain place where they said they would be at the first place.

Example, Dan promised to meet Jess at the mall, and after 20 minutes of waiting, Dan still hasn't show up. Jess text Dan and asking him where is he now;

Jess - Dan where are you? We are suppose to meet up at the mall. Remember?
Dan - OTW Jess :D

Well, basically that's how you use 'otw'. The thing about 'otw' is that it is too general an answer which could be interpreted in thousands of meaning. When Dan replied 'otw' it could mean:

I'm at the second traffic light now. Another 5 minute to reach.
I saw this cool newly opened shop and would like to check it out before I'm going to meet you.
I just got out of shower and is getting ready to leave the house now.
I went to visit my uncle in Singapore last night and would take another 5 hours to reach your place.
I just woke up and is going back to sleep after replying your text and meet up with you when I woke up again later.
Just give me a moment. I'm inside the toilet here dealing with some big business.
I'm looking for my missing shoes.
I'm lost and I don't want to admit it.
Hopefully I'll show up.
You just got dumped!

Anyway, every now and then I do use 'otw' to reply someone when they are asking about my whereabouts, especially when I'm already late and I know it, I know it that I will be super late for the meet up or when I don't have a time frame to give of how much longer will it take for me to reach the place, and my friend, it is super uncool.

Always try to be specific when you are replying to a person whose asking where you are and how much longer will it take for you to reach. Time is gold for everyone and it is not fair for you to waste other people's time by waiting for you.

If I'm the one who is waiting, I prefer to know exactly where you are and what's your situation when you haven't arrive, so I could at least plan for something to do while waiting for you. Be considered, don't be selfish.

Time does not wait for anyone, and so does opportunity =)

I really love dim sum. Nowadays it's so convenient to get dim sum for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even supper! The problem is, a really good dim sum is hard to find!

Well, when it comes to good dim sum, it reminds me of my 2010/2011 new year and first trip down to Ipoh, Perak. My friends and I basically had to wait for quite awhile before we can get a seat in this most well-known and busy dim sum restaurant called Foh San. They have like a gazillion choices of dim sum! I like!

If you ever went to Ipoh, do drop by this place and give the awesome dim sum a shot. Even the restaurant looks majestic xD

My First STRONG Experience

In that 5 minute of conversation my dream seems to be so surreal at one point, and then it was shattered at the same time. Broken hearten and beaten down, for a moment I felt that my life is meaningless, sad and WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?!

Yes, I was being punk'd by someone and its not Ashton Kutcher (demmit!). It was by none other than Armstrong the Okay Arms! I didn't have his number, so when a random number call me up and said that they are from a magazine and would like to interview me for whatever reason, I would actually believe that, okay! Haha.

Gosh, that was the first. I'm going to be cool about it just because it's also Arms birthday today! Happy Birthday Arms and I would watch my back if I were you >:)

I'm a huge fan of WFP - Phil, Ted and Wes. They are one of the most inspiring people out there that living their life with passion. I really hope I am living my life just like they did. Doing what they love and really make a difference in other people's life.

I really wish to meet them in person!. It's really great to be able to meet the persons that I look up to all this while. I'm just not sure if I can come up with the money for the ticket. Hopefully I'll win it from Nuffnang xD

Back to Reality (and it's about time too!)

It's been 44 days or more since the last time I workout. What I've been working hard for more than 6 month has now gone back to zero again. I thought it would be easy to start doing what I've done before, but I was wrong. Same struggles all over again.

Keith has shared a very powerful sermon last weekend and it is something that everyone of us can relate to. He shared about 'Run To Win' (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). Don't run blindly just because everyone else is running, but run with a purpose and run to win the race.

#1. Find your purpose to run. Purpose creates energy, but energy doesn't create purpose. Your purpose will keep you in track - stay focus.

#2. Be discipline. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing (Vince Lombardi). Only discipline can creates habit.

#3. Run to glorified God. If this is your ultimate purpose, anything is possible. (Philippians 4:13)

We all need a good motivation to get a good start in 2012, but don't just let it be words that inspires you only. Start taking some actions and start making today one of the greatest year yet for you!

Kate Beckinsale - Hot Vampire

At the age of 38 when this is posted, Kate Beckinsale still looks as hot as when I was first mesmerized by her main role in the franchise movie - Underworld. At first it was the outfit but then it was just her, haha. I really like her smile =)

I can't wait for the 4th installment of the movie to come out by mid of January! At the mean time, lets just enjoy some pictures of hot Kate :D

We had our new year's eve dinner at Kalamazoo Cafe - an American diner, and it was our first time there. It has a nice ambiance to chill and enjoy a great meal. Great atmosphere and the people there amazingly friendly too :D

I really like the peanut butter chocolate milkshake! It's a must try because it's awesome! The foods are amazingly delicious, and worth the money that you are paying for. I definitely want to come back for some K'Zoo-liciousness... Haha!

the pineapple chutney, patties, and bun are all made in-house. I LOVE THE FRIES!

the slaw is drizzled with blackcurrant dressing and mint sauce is made in-house

I've actually emailed them because I was unable to recall some of the name for the dish and I also asked for some other recommended dish. They are kind enough to reply me back the soonest, and here's what you can look forward to in their new menu :D

We will be coming up with a new menu soon with new additions such as the Tex-Mex Pork Chop which is a smoky, slightly spicy must try and also Meatballs & Gravy which we do on our own and deep fry before pouring on the gravy so its crispy crunchy on the outside while soft, flavorful and moist on the inside. In the meantime, we also have Walk of Life which is a triple decker burger with pork, chicken and beef patties resting on slices of cheese.

To Infinity and Beyond

Happy New Year to everyone! Thank you for visiting room8five and all the thoughtful comments that you have shared in 2011. I am truly thankful to be able to get to know you through blogging and some I have even met in person. All of you are awesome!

New Year celebration can bring a thousand different meaning to each different one of us. To some, it marks another new beginning, a new opportunity for a great future ahead - a new hope. Some, it's just another overrated ritual by the party goers.

I believe with all my heart that 2012 is going to be a year of breakthrough for me in health wise and career wise. This is the main two focus for me to achieve in 2012. Eventually one thing will lead to another and all I have to do is being determine enough to finish what I've started.

Do not underestimate the power of having a new year resolution, its not just a check list of what you want, but it should be a goal, a motivation to keep you focus throughout the year. I have determine my direction from the beginning, even if I'm lost along the way, as long as I know where I want to go, I can always get back on track again and finish strong.

I'll be sharing some of my new year resolution tomorrow. Hopefully it will help to inspire some of you of what to look forward to in 2012. Let's make 2012 another greater blast together!

I have been a regular visitor to Giggles ever since they invited me for their opening on 11.11.11. The concept is nothing much different from Meeples, its just that Giggles is much more spacious and they have another 2 room that can be use when you have a group of people that wanted to play some serious game with privacy, or if you needed a place to throw a party :D

I always believe that playing boardgames is much more healthier and involve more real interaction with real people if compared to online games. It's not just a game per say. It's a platform to learn your social skill, how to communicate, triggers your critical thinking and above all, its a fun way of bonding with friends and family.

Well, you have to tried it yourself in order to know what I'm saying. So why don't you grab some friends of yours and head down to Giggles for some real fun together :D

Greatest Fear of Mine

Suddenly I've been striked by fear, and no matter how optimistic I'm trying to be, the fear grew strong in me. I am really afraid of what about to happened to my future if things just didn't turn out like I hope it would be. Perhaps I have not put my full trust yet onto the Lord.

Ever since I came back to KL, I have always been financially challenge. Plus my impulsive spending, credit card debt and other commitment, I have tried my level best to balance up everything. Now, things just got a lil' worse for me, or it has always been that way.

I have reached the maximum level of tolerance with my job. Not that I'm not thankful for it but it's just not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I felt that the more I'm holding on to this job, my passion for whatever it is that I wanted to do is fading away.

The only reason I'm holding on to this job is because I really need it at the moment and I can't afford to be unemploy. I am not ready yet to go back defeated.

Everyone is wishing for a greater thing to happened in 2012. So do I. Perhaps this fear of mine is a wake up call for me to buck up and start making some significant changes to myself.

Sakae Sushi, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Jaya

Kevin was in town for 10 days. Coming all the way from Philippines to fulfill his greatest desire - to eat sushi with me! Haha, at least that's one of the reason to come back to Malaysia.

Again, we didn't get to go to Zanmai this time. After being Sakae the last time, I'm really glad we came back again for a reunion of our own after Christmas (26 December 2011) :D

Sakae sushi at Pyramid has changed a lot since then. They renovated the place which look more spacious now if compared to the last time we were here. The most obvious thing you'll notice is the iPad use for making order from your own table :D
