Before The Festival

So, you've snagged the tickets, taken the time off work and dreamed about your mini-vacation to the upcoming music festival for months... but are you completely prepared for the weekend that lies ahead?

Below are a few tips that will help you avoid any mishaps before, during and after your stay at the festival:

Brush Up On Music

Even if you’re an audiophile, chances are you don’t know every artist on the lineup of the festival you’re attending. Google a list of the lineup and plug in artists one by one to sample the music you haven’t heard before. This will help you discover bands that you may have otherwise missed by not researching them beforehand.

There’s also the option of finding pre-made playlists or channels; many major music sites will offer music streams or download samples of the line-up in preparation for the big festivals. For example, check out this channel put together for the upcoming 2013 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

Prepare Your Outfits

Festivals are a great excuse to throw together a cool weekend wardrobe. Here are a few quick tips if you have no idea where to start:

Depending on the season, pack shorts or long pants - if you’re camping for two or more days, try and pack light by re-using your bottoms with multiple different tops.

Quick tip: If you’re attending a music festival in the desert, the temperature during the day may be significantly different than at night. Pack extra layers like sweatshirts for night time and consider snagging a locker if you don’t want to carry a lot of extra baggage.

Add your own personal flair - a lot of guys and girls like to wear cool sunglasses, jewelry like floral headbands or belly chains and band t-shirts showing off their favorite artists.

Pack comfy shoes - if it’s hot out you may decide to simple wear your comfiest pair of flip flops or even go barefoot. If it’s a bit on the chilly side, any shoe that is going to give your foot all-day support is best. The worst thing at a music festival is being uncomfortable running around and/or standing for prolonged periods of time while you listen to your favorite bands.

Create a Personal Set-List

The schedule of which artists will be playing and at what times is posted a few days before most music festivals. Decide who you want to see and create a schedule to ensure you won’t miss anyone because of not doing the research beforehand. Coachella, the annual music festival in Indio, California even has an app so everything can be done seamlessly on your phone --and be handily waiting in your pocket throughout the weekend.

Wear Sunscreen

This goes for anybody, during any season that is spending more than 2-3 hours in the sun. Even if it is overcast outside, you will get sunburnt --especially if you are fair skinned.

Getting sunburnt, especially on the first day of the festival will really put a hamper on your overall experience. If you’re mostly covered up in colder weather, don’t forget to put sunscreen on your cheeks and nose.

Stay Hydrated

This is especially important for people who are going to be out in the sun during their festival. Drink at least 4 bottles of water throughout the day, more if you are drinking a lot of alcohol --which tends to dehydrate people.

A lot of people end up spending hours in the first-aid tent because they think they are immune to dehydration. Dehydration is serious and is the cause of people passing or blacking out.

Be Flexible

Unfortunately, you may not be able to see every band you planned on. It may rain on you in 90 degree weather and ruin your outfit. Somebody may spill a drink on your white shirt or ruin your shoes by stepping on them having set foot in the mud.

Whatever the case, it’s best to relax and go with the flow. Things are bound to go wrong a few times when surrounded by thousands of strangers and hundred and bands. If you expect these things to happen and take them with a grain of salt, you’ll definitely have more fun.

After The Festival

Share Your Experience

Post photos of yourself on your Facebook and links to the best bands you saw during your stay, that way other people can explore their music as well, especially if they aren't an especially well-known band.

Make sure you’re prepared to attend the music festival you've got tickets for to ensure the best experience possible. Simple things like wearing sunscreen and deciding which bands you are going to watch can make a world of difference that weekend.

The World's Largest Water Ride: Vuvuzela @ Sunway Lagoon

Vuvuzela

The name "Vuvuzela" was made known to the world when South Africa was the host for World Cup 2010. Back then it was the loudest plastic horn around and at time it could be very annoying too. It was once used to summon distant villagers to attend a community gathering in South Africa, and now, the Vuvuzela in Sunway Lagoon is summoning all the thrill seeker to gather around and take the water ride of their life.

It is currently the world's largest water ride standing at 30 meters (11 stories) high tower, with 152 meters long water ride that was designed to resemble the rough rapids of a turbulent river! To top it off, the ride ends with a plummet into the world’s largest water funnel, spanning at 22 meters in diameter.

I hope the little background and stats are able to wow you right now because currently, that's all I have. The latest attraction from Sunway Lagoon is indeed one of the must try if you ever come for a visit. Get ready for one of the most wet and wild water ride of your life! On the other hand, I want to join Nuffnang for a bloggers' day out at Sunway Lagoon because I want to experience the crazy, wild and most splashiest Vuvuzela in town!

Malaysia is The Axiata Cup 2013 Champion!

Yesterday was my first time attended a live badminton finals match and it was for the Axiata Cup 2013 between Thailand and our very own team Malaysia! It was indeed an awesome experience. The atmosphere of being there personally to witness and to cheer along with the Malaysian supporters is really priceless.

The dude standing on the left was super excited for every performances in between matches.

The first match between Thai's Ratchanok Inthanon and Malaysia's Sonia Cheah was a blow to the home supporters because Ratchanok clearly dominated the match and with so many mistakes by Sonia, the first point of the night goes to Thailand. Ratchanok really played very well that night.

The second match was between the mix doubles Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee T against Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon. I have to say it was the most interestingly intense match to watch on that night. It was definitely the match that pleases the crowd the most. The long rally, exchanging smashes and fast pace of the game really got the crowd cheering and standing on their feet to cheer on our national heroes.

The last time I met Dato' Lee Chong Wei was last year when I got the opportunity to send him off at the airport to London for the Olympic 2012. Axiata Cup 2013 finals was my first time seeing the man himself playing live before my eyes. The match was clearly dominated by the world's number one and Thai's Tanongsak clearly had an experience disadvantage when facing Dato' LCW.

Nonetheless, Dato' LCW's decision to play for the Malaysia's team in the finals was overwhelmed by the supporters and the whole night the crowd was cheering and chanting his name. At some point of the time, they event cheered for his newborn son's name - Kingston!

The last match of the night was the men's double between Boonsak Ponsana and Songphon A against Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong. It was clearly a win for Malaysia when half way through the game you realize our men's double are more experience than the Thais.

To me that night was just simply amazing. It was the supporters that fascinates me the most. They kept on cheering and cheering and cheering the whole night. I was thinking when are they going to stopped, and they never did till the very last minute when Malaysia finally won the final. I am really glad and happy to be apart of that loud and noisy supporter that night.

Thank you again Axiata for the tickets and of course to Nuffnang for an experience that's going to be hard to forget.

WeChat - The New Way to Connect

That's right people, you chat, I chat, we all chat and last night was the WeChat commercial launch at club Neverland, KL. A large numbers of bloggers, local celebrities, media members and partners had showed up to hype up the event.

As of January 2013, WeChat already have 300 million user accounts and I was there when they first launched WeChat in Malaysia. Back then I have to be very honest that I am not so fond of the app at all but today, with the newly improved user interface and functions that they have, I realized that I have been missing out a lot.

First of all you have to know that WeChat is absolutely free to download and it is available to all the major mobile platforms; iOS, Android, Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. In short, everyone can use WeChat. Now other than the basic functions that you have on a messenger - texting, calling, video call and location, WeChat also provide "Voice Chat" function which I find very useful and fun to use.

Any idea what we are talking about?

The WeChat's Voice Chat or Hold to Talk (is what I like to call it) is basically a voice recording function but I find it works faster and better on WeChat if compared to the existing messenger that I am using. I'm not sure how fast will this drain the data plan but for whats it worth and the convenient that it provides, I'm totally loving WeChat for this.

This works best when you are driving and stopped at the traffic light. Most of the time I find it very hard to concentrate between texting and my eyes on the traffic light but with WeChat, replying back to someone else is just as easy as holding a button only. Love it!

The WeChat's live chat works like a walkie-talkie and it's really fun to play with. Also with a lil' bit of creativity, you can actually make use of it specially when on a road trip with friends, event and any possible occasion that you think would need a walkie-talkie to keep in touch with one another.

Here's Some Library Etiquette

I am writing this post from inside the library of University Malaysia Sabah. Initially I was doing my work and updating FILM8FIVE when all of a sudden this group of student sitting two table away from me starting to talk loudly when some of their friends joined them.

I don't know about you but library etiquette was something that was taught or made known to me at a very young age. Unless you NEVER visited any library before, you will not know what the rules are then, but I believe even before you step into a library, there will be a few signs that will let you know how to behave inside a library.

Apparently these bunch of students are either being ignorance or just plain inconsiderate. So because of that, I will be sharing with you some of the basic library etiquette that you MUST remember when in a library.

01. KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN

It's a freakin' library and not a night market for you to hard sell some of your cheap stuff. If you want to share your life stories with your friends or have a group discussion then I suggest you find another place where you can freely and audibly express yourself. In a library keep your voice at 0, and 1 when talking.

02. PLACE BACK THE BOOK(S) THAT YOU TOOK

Just DON'T BE LAZY! If you took a book to be use, please please please put it back to where you found the book at first. Someone might be looking for the same book and because of your laziness, they can't find that book at it's section. Don't make it hard for others, be considerate.

03. DO NOT EAT or DRINK

Mainly for cleanliness purposes, please don't create the opportunity for the place to be dirty and also the books to be stained by your food and drink. I don't wish to have any ants or cockroaches to run around while I'm trying to get my work done or reading a book that smells like freakin' KFC.

Those are the very basic library etiquette that you must know when using the library. Just remember that the library is not your personal room or a private lounge for you and your friends to hangout. There are many others who are using the library for the peace and quite that it provides to get some work done. So please, be a considerate user and don't be a distraction to others.

Meditating for Better Skin

Meditation is practiced worldwide as an excellent way to reduce stress and improve mental and physical health. Did you know, however, that meditation can also help improve your appearance?

When practiced properly and consistently, meditation is one of the few natural ways to improve the quality and tone of your skin, and even combat any number of skin ailments, ranging from acne to rosacea to premature wrinkling.

How stress affects your skin

The body responds to duress by releasing cortisol, a stress hormone. Cortisol, while necessary in small quantities to help you deal with “fight or flight” situations, is not meant to be sustained at high levels for prolonged periods of time. Continued production of cortisol can result in a variety of negative health issues including fat gain around the visceral organs, blood sugar imbalance, decreased bone density, higher blood pressure and of course, skin problems.

Cortisol can result in an increase in oil production, which can lead to acne and acne-related problems.

Additionally, when cortisol is released by the body, sugar levels in our bloodstream go up. Increased blood sugar promotes glycation in our skin, which damages collagen. Damage to collagen can lead to more lines and wrinkles.

As soon as cortisol is released by the body, sugar levels in the blood increase. We know that sugar spikes are especially bad for diabetics, but increased blood sugar also promotes a process called glycation in our skin which damages the collagen. Collagen is what makes your skin both firm and pliable. The breakdown of collagen leads to fine lines and eventually wrinkles.

Cortisol acts to dehydrate the skin by decreasing your skin’s production of hyaluronic acid, a natural moisturizer for the skin. And it compromises the skin’s barrier, which allows hydration to evaporate instead of staying in the skin.

Another byproduct of stress that works negatively on the skin is adrenaline, which decreases blood flow to your skin and leads to a pale, wan complexion.

Better skin through meditation

Research has shown that meditation is a powerful stress-reliever. When you meditate, you slow your heart rate and produce less cortisol even as your immune functions improve. While difficult to adjust to initially, a consistent practitioner of meditation reaps myriad mental and physical benefits, including reduced stress responses and improved immunity to stress.

Reduction in stress naturally leads to reduction of stress hormones like cortisol, which allows your skin to continue to regenerate normally .

People have found that after consistent meditation, they see fewer lines and wrinkles, improvement in acne, fewer dark circles or bags under the eyes (due in part to improved quality of sleep that comes with meditation), and a healthy glow.

Note: For maximum benefits to your skin, do not shower immediately after meditation. Some studies have suggested that chemicals produced during meditation can be beneficial to the skin. Showering would not only wash off those beneficial chemicals, but also produce a shock to the nervous system, increasing the stress response which is the opposite of the intended goal. If you must shower post-meditation, try to wait at least half an hour to an hour. Ideally, avoid any kind of water exposure or submersion post-meditation.

Other health benefits of meditation

Reduction in stress levels and improved skin quality are not the only benefits experienced by practitioners. Most people report increased energy, better quality sleep, improved personal awareness and mindfulness, improved response to stress, healthier circulation, and a stronger immune system.

While meditation can help your skin, remember that you must support your efforts to de-stress and improve your overall health to maintain the progress you see. Pay attention to the kind of food you are eating; make sure you drink plenty of water. By taking a complete approach to your health and incorporating meditation, your skin is sure to glow.

#PrayForSabah

I don't know how many of you are well aware of whats currently going on in Sabah at the moment. To be honest, I don't think what you read on the news and on the online social media can even describe the true event that's going in Sabah now. I know I can't because I'm not there personally but that doesn't make me any less Sabahan than all my family and friends who is currently in Sabah.

The main concern at the moment shouldn't be who to blame or what causes it but I strongly believe that the main concern now is to resolve the whole situation and bring peace to the land of Sabah once again. Reading all the different updates from friends and friend's friends in my whatsapp group really does make me worry about everyone in Sabah, especially places where the attacks happened. To be honest, it also made me nervous a bit to go back to Sabah this weekend, but my family need me and they are my priority.

Somehow it just pisses me off to see people share false information about the whole situation in Sabah on social media. Pictures from other war in the past was posted and saying that's what it really like in Sabah at the moment. Stories was made up and I just don't get it. What the point of all that? I can't believe that someone out there is really sick enough to enjoy the fears and worries that they instill in others. If you are one of them, just stop it. Whatever attention that you get from all that is just bullcrap and won't do you any good in life also.

False information is one thing and over sharing of information is also another. Please people, if you know something that our armed forces is doing, just don't, DO NOT simply share it out with the world. What you are doing could jeopardize the whole actions and plan to actually help end this madness soon. Let our armed forces do their job and just keep whatever it is you know to yourself.

I can't help but to worry about my family back in hometown too. Tho no signs of the attack is going that side but still, there's nothing certain about how the whole situation is going to happen. All I could do is just to pray for everyone's safety and call them up to make sure that they are safe and keep reminding them to take extra care.

To all the brave heroes that's fighting for peace in Sabah, I salute and thank each and everyone of you. All of you are indeed brave and we really appreciate for all that you have done. To all the fallen heroes, may your soul rest in peace and know that you have fought a good fight and for a good cause. I pray that God will take good care of the family you left behind and may they will always be proud of your contribution to the country.

Do I Really Need It or I Just Want It Badly?

Whenever we pass the toys or candies aisle, we would probably see a kid throwing a tantrum because they want something from the shelf. May it be a new cool toy being constantly advertised on tv or just a colorful-eye-catching-wrapped candy. Don’t deny it. We were once that kid once upon a time and hey- may still be like that deep in our conscience. How is that, you may ask? Well.. Just like our child-self, we have a blurry and vague concept of what we want and need.

We justify the things we purchase as something we dying-ly need. Like that new-in-fashion tops or shoes. We’ll say things like, “I REALLY need this” when in actual fact, we have tons of clothes in our closet. Or another scenario, suddenly feeling this relenting guilt after buying something. Does that sound familiar?

What we need to do first when we face this ‘wants vs needs’ situation is ask ourselves, ‘Is it something I need?’ or ‘Is it something I would like to have?’. When you have that answered, further ask yourself, ‘What is the purpose of it?’, ‘Is it really necessary?’ and ‘Can I afford it?’. For instance, you need your own transport to commute to work. You have a choice of a fuel sufficient car with a low monthly commitment and another smokin’ hot car which probably will hurt your wallet. What you need would be the first choice and what you want would be the latter. This goes for almost everything.

Always jot down the pros and cons of each choice. Measure what is the best option, then, wallah!, there’s your answer! Although, I’m not saying that wanting to have what you want is a crime. But it won’t hurt to be more alert of what you purchase and for what reasons. Not only that, save a few bucks for those rainy days you may encounter some time down the road. I do advise you to reward yourself by getting something you want once a month or so for being such a good spender.

The Return of Paramore 2013 Live in Kuala Lumpur was a BLAST!

Paramore returned to Malaysia for the second time after their first concert in Malaysia back in 2010. This time in a much smaller stadium compared to last time but the crowd was bigger and better than before! The opening act was by the band mewithoutYou who apparently is Hayley's favorite band since 10 years ago.

mewithoutYou brought something new to the Malaysian stage with their spoken-word vocals and free-ranging drums, bass, and guitar. Tho very new to most of the crowd, but the crowd still managed to sing along with some of the tunes, claps and cheered for the band. The part that got the crowd excited was when Hayley suddenly appeared from behind and started to sing together on one of the band's song.

It wasn't Paramore's turn yet! The stage was later being rearrange again after mewithYou had finished their performances. Having seen Paramore's previous show, I know they will need much more space on the stage for the band members to move around, especially Hayley. She was so energetic and hyper active during her last visit and I'm expecting nothing less this time.

There was no dramatic intro for Paramore this time. The light went out and boom... with the first hit of the drum, lights on and there they are, Paramore taking over the center stage and the crowd goes wild. Everyone was shouting all out for Hayley. Paramore's first song was from their newly released single - NOW. Lights flashes, crowd was jumping, sing along and it was such a beautiful scene to be able to be apart of.

I remembered 3 years ago I was standing way up there in the cheap seat looking down on the people who gets to go crazy in front of the stage, wishing I could be there too to get the real feeling of the concert and this time, thanks to Livescape Asia and Gush Ad for the 2 free passes to be at the rock zone! I get to see the band nearer than last time, yeah!

It was really surreal to be able to be so near where I could see and listen clearer. Hayley is really beautiful (and sexy too) and I like her red hair a lot! She keeps running all over the stage and headbanging! Jeremy and Taylor did the acrobatic act again this time! Their energy on stage keeps fueling the crowd to rock even harder!

Listening to songs like 'Decode', 'Ignorance', 'Playing God', 'The Only Exception', 'Brick by Boring Brick' (from the album Brand New Eyes) being sing live, and be able to party hard and rock hard with other fans, it was just an awesome experience.

Paramore also performed all the songs from their Singles Club - 'Monster', 'Renegade', 'In The Mourning' and 'Hello Cold World'. Hayley even praised the Malaysian crowd for being able to sing along all the songs better and louder than the previous countries that they toured. It was a compliment not to be missed out in this post xD

I was hoping to be able to listen to some of their new songs from their upcoming self-titled album that is going to be launched by this April 2013, but that didn't happened. This time, Hayley really took the time to thank the Paramore's fans. All the tough time that Paramore had gone through this past 2 years, and the reason Paramore is still going strong is because of the continuous support from the fans. Keep on making great rock music Paramore! I love you Hayley!

Look at the awesome crowd behind!

Only a few songs from the album All We Know Is Falling and Riot! were performed that night. 'Careful', 'That's What You Get', 'Pressure', and 'Misery Business' for the ending and it totally rocks my socks off! It is my all time favorite from Paramore! It was seriously awesome to be able to listen to it live in a much hype up environment. I can't help it but feel really happy that moment xD

Like last time, Hayley will choose someone from the crowd to go up the stage and share the stage with the band to end the night. This time, it was lucky Lucy - the girl in the green stripes. Hayley asked her "do you know the song better than I do?", Lucy said "yes", crowd cheered! When it's really the time to rock on the stage, indeed Lucy made Malaysia proud. She rocks the song like nobody business, owned the stage and even swirl and twirl like how Hayley did it... freaking awesome rock chick! Didn't manage to get a picture or video of that cause phone's battery was running really low (don't you just hate it when that happened?).

Oh yeah, did I mentioned after the song, Lucy took out her camera and selca with Hayley and then she ran to Jeremy (or was it Taylor?) and took another selca with him. The most interesting part is that Lucy stayed for too long on stage that she needed to be escort off the stage to the backstage along with PARAMORE! Omigosh, she get to spend some personal time with the band backstage and I want that too!

It was really a great night spent with all the rock fans in Malaysia. Can't wait for Paramore to come back again next time. Hopefully by that time, I'll be qualified enough to be the one who is taking awesome pictures of the band.

The Types of Fragrance

When I bought my first fragrance, it was almost like a gambling – I simply picked a few with really nice bottle design, followed by a few times of sniffing, and that's it. The whole process only took about 15 minutes.

I completely had no idea what I actually bought back then. To me, fragrance means... fragrance. "It makes you smell nice, and they all smell almost the same!"

As I've become a little bit more knowledgeable right now (I'm at my fourth bottle,) I'd like to share with you a very important step in deciding on a fragrance, which is getting to know the types of fragrances.

There are mainly 4 types of fragrances, and they are categorized based on the level of concentration of fragrance oil.

Perfume Extract / Parfum

Perfume or Extract is fragrance with the highest level of concentration. A perfume generally contains 20% to 40% of fragrance oil. As it contains higher level of oil, it is the longest lasting and smells the strongest.

Pure fragrance oil is expensive and that explains why parfum is the most expensive among all fragrance types.

Eau de Parfum (EDP)

With concentration level between 10% to 30%, Eau de Parfum is second to Extract, both in terms of price and longevity. Eau de Parfum is denoted by the abbreviation EDP on the bottle.

Tom Ford Noir Men EDP

Eau de Toilette (EDT)

EDT has a concentration level between 5% to 20%, and it's longevity and intensity is naturally lower than that of an EDP.

Bang by Marc Jacobs EDT

Versace Men EDT. This is what I'm wearing.

Eau de Cologne (EDC)

Eau de Cologne is sometimes similar to EDT, but in general, it's concentration level is below EDT at 2% to 5%. EDC is the mildest of all and thus it doesn't last all day. However, EDC and EDT are more popular in men's fragrances.

The reason why there are many types of fragrance is because different fragrance serves different purpose. Typically, a person should wear lighter scent during daytime or when the weather is warm, and stronger scent in the evening or when the weather is cold.

First of all, Happy Valentine's Day to all you people out there! I know all around love is in the air and every couple is busy exchanging gift with one another (or not) just to show how much they appreciate and love one another and hey! I got a Valentine's Day gift too! I get to go for The Retun of Paramore concert live in Stadium Negara this coming 17 February (Sunday). Woohoo!

Back in 2010, I was at Paramore's first ever concert in Malaysia. It was phenomenal and the band live performance was just oh-so-awesome! I know a lot has been going on to the band afterwards. The Farro brothers had left the band. Rumors of the band disbanding and that Hayley is going solo, but all that aside, Paramore is now back, rocking hard and better than before!

Checkout the latest music video by Paramore titled "NOW". You can be sure to hear that live if you are going to their Malaysia's concert this coming 17 February! I am currently trying my best to memorize the song! I don't want to missed out the sing along with the thousands of fans that are going to show up that night. Hopefully we'll also get to listen to some of their new songs from their upcoming 4th and self-titled album that's going to be released this coming April 2013.

Conquering Saga Hill and it's Waterfall

I don't know why this keeps happening to me. The last time I didn't went back home for Chinese New Year, I ended up doing wall climbing and this year, I ended up going hiking in Saga Hill. Why can't I just chill at home like everyone else does? Haha.

Saga Hill was fun and it really doesn't matter what time you chooses to go for the hike because it has a lot of tall big trees as shades for the sunlight. We started around 1PM and it took us roughly around 30 minutes to reached the hilltop. I was seriously surprise when we reached the hilltop so soon and the view was totally not as I expected it would be. At first I though it would be a long hike to the top.

The Saga's hilltop looks more like a resting station rather than made you feel like being at a top of a hill. I thought it would be like Broga Hill where you can have nice scenery from the top of the hill and is able to look down below of the surroundings. Then again it didn't turned out like that. So if you ever plan to go hiking in Saga Hill, you MUST hike to the waterfall in order to get the maximum satisfaction.

My fitness was not at my level best and I do struggled a lot when I first going up to the hilltop. The rest of the journey I had to take it slow and steady, pace myself and keep on breathing properly so that I won't pass out because of fatigue. If compared to Broga Hill, Saga Hill's is slightly more challenging because you needed to go up and down more often and Broga Hill you only go up to the top and then just down again when return.

Going up to the hilltop is pretty much straight forward and it has a lot of stairs prepared for you. My friends said the stairs in Saga is much more better than most of the stairs in other hills. Even a beginner will have no problem reaching to the hilltop in 30 minutes or less. There is one part of the route which might need you to do a little bit of climbing using the rope provided but just in case you don't feel like it, you can always skip that part by using another route a little bit more to the right.

Saga's Waterfall

The trail to the waterfall has a lot of going up and down the hill. If you are physically fit enough, it won't be much of a problem for you. There is no climbing, no sharp stones, no leeches and everything is pretty much easy. I have not been working out for so long and yes, I am greatly punished this time. Just follow the ropes that was tied in between trees, and follow the trees with a red mark on it in order to reached the waterfalls.

There are a few trails in Saga Hill and each could lead you to a different exit and routes to the waterfall. The one we followed was pretty much straight forward and it won't be easy to get lost. It was really a great time spent with friends and mother nature. Also a great reminder that I should really start working out!

Happy Chinese New Year 2013!

From all of us here in room8five, we just wanted to wish all our visitor a happy and prosperous snake year! It's going to be another great year ahead and being 1/3 of Chinese myself, its all about getting richer, happier and more fruitful!

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Nuffnang's Shutterbugs and Fashion Fabulous once again joined forces for an awesome day of photoshoot at Thien Hou Temple, KL. First glance at the place, it really feels like an ancient building in China that I always saw in TVB drama.

It was my first time working in a team with another photographer; Darren, and after I attended Behind The Lens featuring Grace Tan, I realize that our concept of working in a team back then could have been far more better than what we have done, haha. It's something I've learnt and will surely shared with the rest of the Shutterbugs next time.

One of the unexpected surprise that day was of course the appearance of Dato' Jimmy Choo who is famous for his internationally renowned shoes brand - Jimmy Choo. We literally had to stop shooting because all of the Fashion Fabulous models wanted to take pictures with him. I managed to snap one with him and of course another one when he was posing for the video shoot that he was doing that day.

Back to the photoshoot now. It was really a hot sunny day. Maybe caused we started late but then again, a lot of credits had to be given to all the models who work hard to pose nicely for the cameras even though it was hot and sweaty. No matter what, they are still able to look their best and give their best pose for the camera. Thank you Wendy, Melissa, Povy, Lisa, Reiko, Alvy and Jess for all the hard work.

Also not to forget all the photographers who are also bearing all the heat just to take some nice pictures for the occasion - Lionel, Darren, Michelle, Benjamin and Henry, Nuffies that is there to support and cheer for everyone - Sue Ann and Laura.

I'm still not done editing all my photos yet due to my busy working schedules. Not a lot to edit but it stills requires a lil' bit of touch up to look nice, haha I really need to build up my confidence... Anyway, I will let you all know when its all done and hopefully before the whole Chinese New Year ends!

I Apologize, Apologize and Keep On Apologizing

I don't know if my confidence level has been badly scar because of that. Nowadays I feel like a girl with great hormones unleashed and yet had to hold it back when anyone is around. Things gets really ugly when I'm alone, and unlike Britney and Will.I.Am, I scream and shout better than they do.

Just in case you didn't know, I just recently got a new job and this month is my first time handling all the works without supervision, and I can honestly tell you that I am suck at trying to run someone else's business. I've made a lot of mistakes in my first month and I made some customers unhappy about it.

They are unhappy, and how it made me feel is much worse, plus; I still need to be accountable to my boss. I can't remember the last time I had to apologize so much to anyone. This month alone, I had been apologizing so much that it has become a habit of mine to say sorry no matter what it is.

Just when I started to think that the waves has finally stopped, another one came following after. I was seriously greatly discourage of how I handles and manage everything. I even almost got into an accident when I was drifted with my thoughts. I really need to do a serious self check and try to improve my life, especially my responsibility for work.

Oh I just received my daily quote from Simon Sinek and it really struck me:

Work is expending effort on things we don't want to do.

Passion is expending energy on things we love to do.

The goal is to do no work.

Work vs Passion; one gave you a necessity to survive the world and the other one gave you a fulfillment in life. When you had to choose, which will you go for?

Advice for The Young One and Also The Unhappy

I put a lot of thought of how I wanted to write this post. I just can't find the right intro or the way how I should write it without making it look like I'm not trying my best to make the best out of life. I do believe certain things you just needed to say it out loud and hopefully they will understand what's important is the message itself.

I'm turning 28 this year's August. Unlike any of my peers or the people that I know around me, I am not really living the best out of my life today. Looking back at all the mistakes that I have done, the decision that I have made, I could easily live my life in regrets, but that's NOT how I choose to live my life and neither should you.

I just wanted to leave a message to all the young people out there. The fresh grad, the SPM leaver, those that think they already failed in life, the outcast and mostly to the unhappy one. Here's 3 things you need to know about the reality of life and how you can try to at least make the best out of life.

1. Life is never fair

The sooner you accept the fact that life is never fair, the easier it is for you when its come to acceptance of whats going on around you. Don't always have the thought of what you should and shouldn't deserve because it will only creates expectation that might lead to disappointment. Well, at least not until you have learnt how to manage your expectations that is.

Don't try to justify the balance of life because our understanding is very limited in order to process and digest what's really meant or not meant to be. Just know that everything happened for a reason, and either the reason be good or bad, it entirely for you to decide how the outcome should be.

2. Your thoughts is your greatest weapon

Failure and success is nothing but a thought in your mind. Your perception and how you interpret your condition. Some might say I am a failure, a waste of time and don't deserve whatever good that I have now, but that doesn't necessarily how I should perceive things. I try to be positive all the time. I needed to or else I will crumble in believing that I am nothing but a failure.

Use your weapon wisely. Build a stronger and better you out of it. Always, and always believe the best that it is about yourself. Don't let anyone justified who you are and what you should become. Your only limit is what you have in mind. Remember that there is no copy of you in this world, so be yourself and be proud and confident of it. Always try to improve and be a better you.

3. God is always there for you

I believe no matter what religion you are or what you are not, God is always there for you whether you believe it or not. I can assure you that relying only on oneself is VERY tiring and it gets easily exhausted along the way. The thing with family and friends, is that they might not always be there for you, or some, they are just not the right one to help pull you through in life.

To me, God is always there, and God never failed to show up. Sometimes it is hard to believe in the unseen and its even harder to come up with the amount of faith to actually believe that God is there to guide you in life. Then again I must say, almost 28 years of living and no matter how miserable or how hard life has been for me, I have always managed to pull through and believe me, if it were me who is in control of my own life, I might have ended my life long time ago.

Don't think too much about what you should have done. Whats past is past and there is no way to turn back time and try to rewrite it all over again. Even if it's possible, we'll only wasting our time stuck in the loop, where we keep trying to make things right in the past.

My advise for you is, keep looking forward and march stronger to the finish line. Life is not going to be easy. It's only gets harder and harder. If you think exams and assignment is hard, wait till you come into the real world. I guess we all needed that; a hard life. So that it can help us to mold a better character of ourselves. How to Deal with "Fat" Wallet

Do you have a "fat" wallet? Have you ever had trouble to sit comfortably while keeping your wallet in your back pocket?

A big, fat wallet might be a sign of prosperity, but when it's getting too big even for your pocket, it's a sign to call for some house-keeping. You may have already used to sitting with a lump on your butt cheek, but scientifically this lump can cause you back pain, namely the hip-pocket syndrome.

Personally I always avoid sitting with a fat wallet for the sake of my debit and credit cards. I actually cracked my ATM card once. :P #TrueStory

Here's a guide on how to reduce the size of your wallet:

Audit Your Wallet Regularly

Wallet requires some spring cleaning once in a while. Technically, it's not difficult to check and clean your wallet, but making it a habit is a different story. Try to check your wallet once a week to remove unnecessary things and I think that's the "diet plan" your wallet needs.

File Your Receipts

I know, because I kept all my credit cards receipts in my wallet too :) If you still can find a receipt dated last few months, you probably need to start working on your personal filing system. Besides, some receipts fade really fast so it's it's best to file them before it's too late.

Remove Coins

Coins not only bloat your wallet, they also damage your wallet.

Only Keep Frequently Use Cards

Remove the less popular cards from your wallet. You don't always need all the cards, especially membership cards.

Remove Pictures

Well, you can always keep your photos in your smartphone.

Choose The Right Wallet

Always go for slimmer wallet design with less compartment or layers. Go for wallets that are minimal in design in order to reduce the bulk. For example, try to avoid zippers, 3-fold-design and thick leather or fabric.

My Wedding Proposal in 201x

First of all, Happy New Year 2013 to everyone! Finally 2012 has come to an end, and a new chapter of life has already begun. I'm not sure about all of you, but I am very much excited for 2013 because I have foreseen a lot of interesting things has been installed for me in this brand new year.

1st of January 2013 was celebrated with full of love cause I was involved in helping a good friend of mine with his flash mob dancing wedding proposal. It was a joyous occasion and nonetheless was filled with a lot of anxiety and anticipation also. Some of our friends had never dance in public on a broad daylight before, and thus it was really a nerve wrecking experience for everyone.

The main element of the proposal is of course the element of surprise. Not only the flash mob dancing is a surprise but with my friend putting and effort to sing and dance, which is totally out of his comfort zone is really huge surprise already. There were a few hiccups along the way, but looking back, it was what made the whole proposal fun, funny and memorable.

Last year itself in 2012, two of my good friend had also proposed to their girlfriend and is now happily engaged. Somehow, I get to be involved in one of the friend's process of planning and getting ready for the whole proposal and with just these two involvement, it is safe for me to assume that it takes a lot of effort, time and money to come out with a great wedding proposal.

Previously in becoming Mr. Romantic, I wrote to remind myself that no matter in what stages of the relationship I am in, I shall not stop showering my dear one with lots of love. Today I just wanted to remind myself again that no matter which stages of the relationship that I am in, I will not allow my relationship to get boring and mundane!

My wedding proposal in the coming years shall be awesomely fun and romantic too! Haha, then again, I have to work hard to find a girlfriend first before I can go anywhere near that epic like a love song wedding proposal of mine.

Anyway, I wish each and everyone of you all the best for 2013 and may all your wishes come true. Above all, I wish you hope, joy and love throughout the awesome 2013!
