Great to see such a strong turnout from our Cubs and Scouts at the Simpson Barracks Dawn Service despite the wind and rain. Overall attendance at the Service was well down, but we had our best turnout ever! Then it was into the City March for some of our Scouts and Leaders in more rain and to Greensborough for the rest of us, where the March was cancelled for the first time ever and the Ceremony was held at the RSL!

Well Stradbroke Cup 2012 is done and dusted (washed away?) for our Scouts and CONGRATULATIONS on achieving Silver level (only 4 points off Gold/Co-Holder!) at their first ever attempt!
The Scouts had a fantastic time, despite Mother Nature doing her worst... on Friday night we were hit with 115Km/h winds. Scouts and Leaders spent hours fighting to get fallen tents back up and keep them there where possible. On Saturday morning it was time to fix it all up in daylight and by lunchtime everything was back up and running. The Scouts had plenty of fun amongst the competition work and then Mother Nature was back to give us rain and the coldest day of the year for our packup yesterday – lots of Scout Halls around with wet tents drying today! The Scouts sailed through all the challenges of the weekend, had tons of fun and, once again, congratulations on that Silver!

What happens when Cubs go to Scouts? They can go to Stradbroke Cup! Rosanna Scouts, their Leader (and an Akela from Cubs!) are at Bay Park Scout Camp at Mt Martha for 4 days of camp competition and tons of fun activities. A bit wet with short heavy storms at the moment, but all good and plenty of fun!

Well, our 5th Birthday was yesterday - woohoo! We got together to celebrate - our Cubs, Scouts, parents, some important people from our early days and, with Laura as Leader and a few of the older Scouts, the genesis of our new Venturer Unit. It was a fantastic night, that seemed to all happen in the blink of an eye. 40 Cubs, Scouts and siblings playing Exhaustion on the oval was a sight to see! Thanks to everyone involved for our first 5 fantastic years, along with a great celebration, and now it's onwards and upwards to the second half of our first decade.

On 13th March, 2007, the first ever Cub night was held at Rosanna Cubs, marking the birth of Rosanna Scout Group. On Tuesday, 13th March, 2012, we'll be having a 5th Birthday Celebration! What a fantastic Pack Holiday was had by all. The weather threatened on Saturday, but was kind and the Cubs (Witches and Wizards) had an absolute ball with everything we did. As usual the train carriages were a hit and having the Scouts join us on some of the activities and the campfire was great fun and a real encouragement for Cubs to move on to Scouts. Of course in the flour fight the Scouts were the main target, but they survived the Cub onslaught well!

The Cubs of Rosanna have been selected to attend Wolfwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a concentrated course - this weekend only. The School Dormitories are being renovated, so we'll be sleeping in the Wolfwarts train's red rattler carriages.....and doing tons of fantastic, magical activities.... See you on the Platform as the magic begins

To possibly enter Wolfwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry at our Pack Holiday, come to an Assessment night for acceptance into Wolfwarts.

This replaces Cubs NEXT TUESDAY, 20th. Be at Platform 13 & 4/9ths before 7pm - where our Scout Hall usually is.

Human noughts and crosses - Mums 5-3. Chair Basketball - Mums 17-4! (Well, it was 10-4 and we made the last point worth 7 to give the Cubs a chance).

What a great weekend at Cubs! Firstly off to Gang Show, to see warrior teams play to the death, followed by a quest with two boys, a dragon and a princess... and some really sick jokes as well! Then, a family BBQ & tons of food, followed by a Cub Sleepover with 1st Bendigo in our Hall – and again, tons of food! See you tomorrow night to finish off Term 2 in the deepest darkest Jungle in the Seeonee Hills of India!
