Poutine is a typical Canadian dish consisting of fries made in duck lard, topped with chicken gravy and cheese.
Recommendation: ending in ing - Slow Songs Vol. 1

The few gems on MySpace are spread far apart, but they exist, ending in ing is one of them. I stumbled across his music about half a year ago on aforementioned platform and he's truly the epitomy of the bedroom producer in my opinion, taken his approach to music is the following: "I make beats using a laptop and some records I’ve salvaged from various places". Period. On his free download album Slow Songs Vol. 1, the London based producer blends his samples in a very eclectic way, easy to listen to, but still deep enough to give you the chills once in a while, especially on my personal favorite: Keep On Loving Me. If one were to find similarities with known artists, I'd place him somewhere between Kid Koala, a little bit of RJD2 and Hint's Portacabin Fever. Check this one out, it's worth it. Eagerly waiting for Volume 2.

Recommendation: Berry Weight - Music For Imaginary Movies

Lately i stumbled over "Berry Weight". A Canadian/Swiss duo consisting of "Apework & Stab" accompanied by Danish singer "Astrid Engberg" and French clarinetist "Kledsy Jy". They dropped their last album "Music for Imaginary Movies" about one week ago. Vinyl friends still have to wait for the vinyl to be released.

As far as i can say, the music is some kind of mixture of Wax Tailor, Prefuse 73, Birdy Nam Nam, Feist & Berry Weight with harmonizing storybook-like melodies and cinematic atmospheres - which you will find out, if you listen through. Very nice one, especially for listening friends. Don't expect this to be a Dj-Tool.

Last but not least: on their website they offer some nice packages with either cd or vinyl and shirt or ltd edition skateboard, print, ... and so on. check it out, put the needle to the groove, kick back, relax and watch your imaginary movie. nice work and whole package.
