Without any doubt, this is my go-to uniform for a casual day: an oversized cardi, easy throw-on-and-go tank, tapered skinnies, and simple black shoes. Can't go wrong with your everyday basics! Just turned 21!!! I thought the perfect outfit post for today would be one with almost everything Forever 21—because, well, who wouldn't want to be forever 21?! *winky face* Jokes aside, utility jackets lend an easy, military-inspired touch to just about anything they top. You don't have to over-accessorize because the jacket does the speaking itself! The pale powder blue stripes paired with a delicate lace skirt makes this outfit eau so fresh and anything but masculine. Never thought I'd associate utilitarian outerwear with something so girlishly sweet. On another sweet note, I couldn't be more grateful for the gift of readership from you guys. I've been so busy getting reacquainted with the warmer weather and basking in the brighter days this spring that I actually haven't really felt I've worn an outfit that truly epitomizes "spring" until now. Aside from the longer days, smelling jasmine in the air, dandelions poking their heads above the ground, fresh breezes, and cherry blossom-covered sidewalks, these are a few of my favorite spring things: open knits, crochet lace, and sorbet pastels.

The last time I wore this sweater was under an overcast sky. Fast-forward three weeks later, and I was able to pop this over a romper in the 85-degree weather that we had! I love how versatile this layering piece is. Can't wait to pair it with a baby blue denim jacket and white cut-offs the next time I pull this out for a beach bummin', summer lovin' look. Brimmed hats, chunky knitwear, white crochet, faded jeans, and flat soles are my ultimate, natural ingredients for a relaxed and laidback boho look! Instead of going with the typical, predictable earthy colors, I went with electrical pops of acid yellow and shades of blue, hopefully adding a bit of funk... kind of like Jimi Hendrix but not musically y'know what I mean?

Guys... the time of the year I go all flower power on you all... again. Sorry, I'm not sorry that aside from daisies, I'm also loving the tropical color combination of green and blue floral print at the moment! Something about the cooler surfer neons on this Lulu's romper exude such a refreshing, easy, breezy oceanic vibe that I don't normally get from seeing warmer flower prints. Garden party? Nah, I'll take a beach getaway right now.

Pushin' daisies with my second daisy print look in a row! Every spring, I have a soft spot for a certain type of floral print and this year, it's the white-petaled flower in its most stylized and minimalistic form, much like the Andy Warhol-like pop art daisies in my previous post or even this more geometric motif I'm wearing here. I couldn't think of anything more fitting to pair with it than these white ankle strap pumps and this single-striped tee for a clean, yet contrasting look for a summer-like day this past weekend.

This combo pops up on my blog often—big ol' jumper, flouncy skirt—I know. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit and it's just one of those go-to formulas that never goes outdated in my book. Plus, even as I finish up purging the last of all things winter in my closet, I'm still not ready to abandon my grandpa knits! Pairing this with a skirt that's fun to twirl around in just makes wearing a chunky sweater in April a bit more socially acceptable. And see: cloudy days can be a good thing, too.

Walk a wide line in stripes and or take a nod to '60s mod in checkerboard, but my favorite black and white pattern this season is greyscale graphic print! There’s just something so clean but high impact about logical geometric shapes, especially when organized into B&W like this tank I'm wearing. And of course, no black and white palette, to me, is ever truly complete without a pop of classic cherry red. Happy Friday, foxies!

According to Pantone, blue is the top color for this spring. Taking place of last year's Tangerine Tango? Monaco Blue: an inky, but light navy. And nipping at its heels? An even more toned-down, powdery Dusk Blue... yawn. Don't get me wrong, but where's the excitement here?! While I do find these blues safe enough to incorporate with black, they're a little too shy for me and I prefer a higher contrast. This vibrant shade of electric blue I'm wearing above is juuust that—in form of the softest, oversized, button-down shirt ever. Catch it on sale here!

Like most college students, I can't afford a true "designer look." But you know... I've always felt it was better to be cheap than to have the means to easily attain everything. You learn to use your money more wisely, it pushes you to be more creative and resourceful, and you find ways to recycle/refresh what you already have. You can buy fashion, but you can't buy style! With that said, here's my personal runway-inspired version of *this* look from the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2013 show. I'm wearing nothing but completely affordable fast-fashion pieces: an amazingly similar moto jacket currently on sale at Nasty Gal, Forever 21 eyelet shirt, salt and pepper tweed skirt by Motel that just keeps making a cameo on my blog, and classic Aldo patent leather oxfords—most of these items are staples which have long existed in my closet—and there you have it! Fashion from the catwalk to the sidewalk... or in this case, an alleyway where we met this hobo.

My take on "modern cowgirl" with a vintage 1970s twist. Who says you need distressed leather rodeo boots and a heavy suede fringe jacket to complete a western look? No costume pieces needed. Shot these photos in a quiet corner of the Arts District before Natalie and I headed over to Little Tokyo for a cutesy little Purikura session!

Wow, when I was moaning about lacking time in a previous post, I didn´t think the gap between my last post and this post would be so enormous... sorry! On a lighter note, I´m sitting on my bedside as I type this with the windows wide open so that the wonderful spring air can fill my room with golden 6PM sunlight. It feels so good to be able to wear dresses sans tights again (without getting strange looks), I feel like casting strawberry kisses to the sky.

Sorry for the jaded expression! But I really am as tired as I appear in all my photos lately. I've been so occupied since the new semester started earlier last month (kind of can't believe I just said "last month," I'm still in disbelief that it's already March) and even when I don't have school or work, I'm busy replacing blog entries with a million other priorities that come before outfit posts. So, can anyone tell me how I can sign up for this "blogger fantasy life" that some of y'all seem to lead? What up with bloggers who never seem to not have leisure time and are always talking about... eating fancy food on square plates and traveling for a living? WHERE'S THE LINE FOR THAT??? Are there prerequisites? Is there a certain number of credit hours in the blogosphere that I need? Don't get me wrong, being busy is a blessing, but I could really use a vacation away from reality at the moment.
