Accept him or her for who they are. You're not going to change them and more importantly, who are you to judge?
Don't hold back. True love is bottomless and never dries up.
Enjoy life and be happy. Because Love is all you need.

If I were completely honest, I'd say, I don't feel anything and I hear almost nothing. But for some reason, I'm trusting and clinging on to the Promise, because there is really nothing else worthy.

why geeks are hot.

The following post is something I wrote on my other website www.polkadotmonsters.com. Thought I'd share it here as well.

I've always thought geeks are hot. They're smart, have a passion and can hold a conversation - what's not to like?

Then I started telling people around me that I thought geeks are hot. And they all gave me strange looks (well, most of them did). Some asked, "With the specs and all?", and then tell me I'm odd for liking geeks.

Most confuse geeks with nerds, who are a whole different breed. Don't believe me? See this venn diagram - it perfectly explains in succinct terms what the difference is.

A geek may be obsessed about computers, books, music or even plants - but because of this he is intelligent (at least in a certain field) and since everyone knows the sexiest part of the body is the brain, this is of course, extremely attractive.

So I hereby stand vindicated, everyone!

My friends fortunately, agree with me; so this post is for the rest of you who give me strange looks!

laugh at your nonsense and stupid antics

isn't afraid to be stupid and laugh at himself

the eyelid does not often move

settling down

why does it have to mean getting married? and having babies? and spending your weekends and days cleaning up spit and cooking for your husband?

why does one have to get married before 30? why is 30 the benchmark?

why do i have to make a decision now? or soon?

why is it that it's not acceptable to live life as you want to?

why does growing up mean settling down?

what does settling down mean?

does it mean you play less, work more?

do you sacrifice fun for practicality?

if you don't acquiesce or oblige, does it mean you're ungrateful and selfish?

does it mean you're a bad person?

does it mean you did the wrong thing?

why does being different mean being judged?

why is it wrong to want to do more?

farewells are always bittersweet. there's always a tinge of sadness, but accompanied with a pinch of resolution that makes you so sure of your decision.

it's been a good ride. i've learned much, made good friends, seen the ugly side, felt the warmth of people and most importantly, know what i don't want.

time for change, to stop wasting time.

sure, it's scary. the uncertainty of what's going to happen next, the possibility that your decision to leave was wrong, but even worse, the huge possibility that leaving was right, but your next step is wrong.

but then in the midst of my doubts, the Voice reminds me -

"The Lord is on my side, I am not afraid. What can man do to me?"

wondering wanderer

as we slow to a stroll into 2010, i wonder if it'll be the year of more promises fulfilled. i wonder if i'll take a step forward toward The Plan, or if i'll willfully, bumblingly, insist on my ways and take two steps back.

the worst thing is, there is just no way to know. there won't even be an inkling, not until the deed is done. i might move a step forward (awesome), or two steps back (not great).

2010 is going to be a year of new things - new relationships forged, new experiences, hopefully new friends to keep forever. the band is going to get wider, the stakes are going to be higher, as we all get a year older. i'm on the cusp of something great, but the fog isn't lifting on what this is.

it's in my heart, as God says He knows.

the sad (but perhaps not) truth is, this is probably the best way to be. wouldn't you be terrified if you saw your future awesome self, but know in your heart that right now, you'd be doing worse than struggling to fill those shoes?
