Who would have believed that someday their people would understand the concept of freedom better than so many of our own, mindless masses? The following article [while somewhat slanted against America for its own recent history] appeared a few days ago in Pravda and assesses our plight with greater accuracy than any other words I’ve read or might have written. It is the perspective of those who have experienced oppression and know the Socialist demons that lie in wait if we continue to aimlessly follow our radical Pied Piper down his present, Alinsky-inspired road:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the backdrop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based upon pop culture rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite T.V. dramas than the drama in D.C. that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonald’s or Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our own Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look like little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beaten our own thieves in shear volume. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American Congress. Again, Congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American President now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American President has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and a group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantor of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama as did the UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “free man” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Frank, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not looked down upon as a life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but if retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would also include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

Notice the reference to a descent into Marxism right in the very first sentence! Those of us who have seen it coming will not be surprised. Those who don’t ‘get it’ until it’s too late it will continue to make excuses and try to place blame everywhere but upon their own shoulders. Unfortunately, ‘get it’ or not, all of us will be paying the price for a very long time. Ducking under a desk just isn’t going be enough this time.

It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same. Today the little variety store is called North Korea, the man behind the counter is named Kim Jong-il and you still can’t buy anything for a dime. However, they have plenty on display and regular live demonstrations of their merchandise. Most recently, they rolled out a nuclear device about the size of the Hiroshima blast and a couple of rockets that can reach out from a few hundred to a few thousand miles. No-o-o-o, they’re not aiming at The United States but they are hoping this eye candy attracts the attention of buyers like Hamas, Al-Qaeda and similar prospects who may be shopping for the right ingredients to quench their murderous thirst and complement their bar full of nuts.

Meanwhile, what is the acting President doing since he returned from his American apology tour? Well, Barack ‘Chavez’ Obama is focusing his wrecking ball on the economy once again, this time buying himself another car company, preparing to add health care to the long list of failed government follies and nominating the most radical candidate ever to be considered for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. Add a VAT tax, an energy tax, as well as several nuisance taxes and we have pure taste titillation for the quenchless thirst of our own Socialist nut bar.

As far as the North Korean dime store, not to worry — just like Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other troubled kids on the block we’re going to talk with them, all the time hoping we don’t get mugged while we’re hobnobbing. Maybe we’ll even roll over for the United Nations, just to show our soft underbelly to any madmen who didn’t notice when our fearless leader exposed it in the first place. Change? Geez, I hope I have enough left for a chocolate soda!

Somehow, we’ve been sold a bill of goods that America is the problem instead of the solution.  Images of our imminent demise flash across the screen and bad guys inflict some twisted notion of justice upon the greatest nation ever to grace the Earth.  They do so not because we did anything wrong but because we have achieved such success — and, according to the perverted value system of the Liberal kook fringe, we are supposed to feel guilty about it!

If you wonder why we don’t win wars anymore, watch a patriotic old movie like “Men of the Fighting Lady” or “Task Force”; then contrast it with “The Day After” or some of the more contemporary terrorist inspired tripe, the names of which I refuse to even provide status.  If the mindset of today’s Left had prevailed a few generations ago, we’d all be speaking German on the East coast, Japanese on The West and Europe would be goose-stepping to the refrain of Deutschland über alles!

Will you give this to my Daddy?

Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I’m not alone. I’m not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course, I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear of reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said ‘hi.’

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier, who didn’t look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter’s name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, ‘I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.’ He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying ‘your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.’

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek and disappeared.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it’s good to be an American.

On this Memorial Day 2009, I salute all the men and women of these United States who go in harm’s way, offer my gratitude and pray for their safe return.

I was privileged to attend one of the more than 700 Tea Parties held across America yesterday and, to paraphrase the acting president’s wife, “For the first time since November 4th I was proud to be an American!”

We heard speakers from 14 year old kids with mortgaged futures to the obligatory gaggle of politicians promising the usual “if elected” miracles. However, the speakers that moved me most were two naturalized American citizens: One who immigrated from the former Soviet Union and the other who escaped from Cuba. Both warned of the signs of impending tyranny we are witnessing from Washington and expressed fear of having “To go through it all again”. They moved me to the edge of tears, as I was later so moved while surrounded by an estimated 1500 fellow patriots singing, “God Bless America”. I don’t usually sing and guys from my generation don’t usually cry.

This was a local event, not one of the colossal affairs in New York, Chicago or Atlanta but I think very typical of the genuine grass roots movement that is so clearly confounding backers of the taxes and tyranny coming out of Washington. Masquerading as news media, the government’s public relations arm took first place gold in the “Rude and Crude” category and a silver in “I don’t get it”.  Just watch this moronic, medal-winning performance by a member of the Communist News Network (CNN).

A few things are abundantly clear from these gatherings:

1. People are both frightened and angry — a powerful combination. It seems more people understand what’s really going on than I thought
2. The numbers of attendees at these Tea Parties are being underestimated and the events are being under-reported
3. While promoted as anti-tax/anti-spending events, the losses of freedom and incursions of big government into our lives are of, at least, equal concern
4. If ‘Bama-Socialist supporters don’t get it and provide a rapid change of direction in D.C., they’re on a fast track to a rapid exit of the current Congress in 2010, just for openers
5. These were gatherings of ALL perspectives, Left, Right, Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Independent — pick a label. The common thread was the overwhelming desire to keep America uniquely American and prosperous — and the feeling that we’re being driven down the wrong road

As one of the immigrant speakers astutely observed, “Communism or Socialism, it’s the same thing — because when you have one, the other always follows”. Taking into account drastic changes to our economy, destruction of the free market system, gigantic government growth and creation of elements like a militant National Security Force, the handwriting is on the wall for transition into a Totalitarian, Socialist State. Sorry ‘Bama, it’s not the change people wanted but you are unifying many of us, as you promised.

This is not Cuba, France, Russia or Germany. Americans will not sit idly by and watch our nation turned into a banana republic or see our rights disintegrate before our very eyes. How ever these Tea Parties are perceived, how ever they are reported, the importance of what actually happened yesterday can be found in the huge number of citizens rising up to stand against oppression; the silent majority is awakening to the call of freedom! You had to be there!

Navy SEALs, who parachuted onto the scene earlier, executed three perfect head shots [one of the most difficult] under nearly impossible conditions, killing the Somali pirates and freeing Captain Phillips.

In the face of plummeting popularity ratings, the acting president clearly should heed the wisdom of his professed hero, Abraham Lincoln.  Stalin and Lenin, his formative heroes, did not possess such wisdom and so championed an historically failed form of government.  ‘Bama must also learn three other facts of life if he expects to complete even one term in office, much less win a second.

1.  His power is limited.  He has already exceeded those limitations and the people have taken note. His authority derives from The Constitution, not from his cronies in Congress or his radical political affiliates.  Where does a public servant get the audacity to dismiss the C.E.O. of a private sector company like G.M.?  Our government works for the people, not vise versa!

2.  The American people are uniquely resilient and will stand for seeing their rights trampled only so long.  We will not simply roll over for a petty, would be dictator as others have done in darker corners of the world.

3.  Actions have consequences.  Elected officials serve at OUR pleasure and that includes the acting chief executive.  ‘Bama is becoming ripe for impeachment and has, evidently, only begun to violate his oath to “Preserve, protect and defend”.  That’s The Constitution folks, not just a list of suggestions.

Unfortunately for a great many people living in the world of reality, nobody told Ma Nature about the event and she produced headlines like:

After experiencing one of the coldest winters on the planet in decades, including snow in places like Louisiana, Mississippi and California, I’m convinced most planet-saving ’Greenies’ must be sporting glass stomachs or they’d keep bumping into things.  They not only continue their flight of fancy in the face of truths their own senses can’t deny but are completely missing the more dangerous implications of government using climate change as a mechanism for tyrannical control of our personal lives.  That’s why the hoax was perpetuated in the first place!

I think the best shtick of the evening was CNN promoting their around the world coverage of “Earth Hour” events.  Wait a minute — doesn’t it take an enormous amount of energy to generate such coverage?  Well, I suppose it’s no worse than ‘Guru Gore’ flying around on a private jet to rant about our over use of fossil fuels. Instead of worrying about man made global warming , we need to start thinking about man made global fortunes and the losses of liberty resulting from our blindness!

You know, mushrooms like it in the dark, too — and are usually fed a diet of the same stuff our little planet savers have been swallowing.

Those mental giants who went sledding off to measure the North Pole’s dwindling ice cap, and had to be saved by fume-belching fossil-fueled airplanes, couldn’t possibly have experienced the arctic cold and blinding snow they thought was threatening their lives. They must have been hallucinating from the heat! Okay, so which one of you kids can spell man-made global warming? Let’s see: H-O-A-X. There’s another way to spell it too: T-Y-R-A-N-N-Y.

You see, any confusion arising here has to do with attempting to address the whimsy of political religion by using the concrete logic of science. It’s the old square peg in a round hole story. Now for the capper: Since there’s not much around these days to feel good about, let’s create something that will give us all a few warm fuzzies. How about a global “Earth Hour“? You know, like making a “wave” at the ballpark!

Yes “Greenies” Saturday night, as 8:30PM hits their time zone, everyone in the world is supposed to turn off all energy consuming devices for one hour — assuming they live in a country that can afford energy consuming devices, like computers, cell phones and lightbulbs. ‘Bama’s brother George in Kenya, for example, may have to visit the neighbors; I don’t think Thomas Edison has visited his block yet.

Am I participating? Oh, you bet! At 8:30 Saturday night, I plan turn on every light, appliance and energy-gulping device in the house, just to see how fast I can make that little black dial spin on the electric meter. I may even start both cars and let them run for an hour or so. Whatever you do is strictly up to you, at least until our morph into The People’s Republik of Amerika is complete. Then, we’ll be taxed into submission and forced to comply like the mindless little ‘Bamabots who actually buy this kind of crap.

At least until then, I have reserved one defiant digit in the center of my left hand for at least partial erection toward these great green gobs of global gullibility — and you know what? Regardless of how any of us respond to this latest “planet-saving” ploy, we’re all still going to have enough juice to burn toast and brew coffee in the morning.

On his way back to Washington on Air Force One, the acting president called the Kennedys [Tim Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics] to say he was sorry — and received a gracious pass.  Hey, didn’t Don Imus get fired for making a stupid, demeaning remark about a select group of people?  So-o-o-o-o ???

His foreign policy is simple: Insult your friends and embrace your enemies.  If you think our global image has suffered in the past, wait until this joker is finished.  The only question is, will we still be able to laugh?  Domestically he seems to be keeping close to his agenda of Marxist takeover from within, according to the precise methods described in Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals“.  Want to know what’s coming?  Read the book!

‘Bama’s attitude toward our military is as perverse as his attitude toward our allies:  he hates them.  The latest slap in the face is the Messiah’s desire to turn personnel injured in battle over to the private insurance market instead of providing traditional government-funded care.  He is more concerned with his agenda of breaking the back of private health care than he is with seeing to the welfare of dedicated men and women he sends into battle.

I watched a news video the other day showing this impostor disembarking from Marine One and was so shocked that I played it back [TIVO] twice to make sure I actually saw what I thought I saw.  A young Marine stood at respectful attention and held a proper salute, as the Commander In Chief followed what looked like a group of street urchins from the helicopter.

For the first family to be so inappropriately dressed in front of the nation would have been disgraceful enough — but the acting president scowled at the honor being paid him, never glanced at the Marine and returned a half-hearted salute that was as disdainful as his mood. He could learn a lesson or two from that brave young man, as well as from so many other military who serve us all with such great pride, not great contempt.

At GITMO, we have a murdering band of thugs captured on the field of battle during The Global War On Terror, that our make-believe government in Washington has now decided to rename detainees. Well, change the name to anything you want but they are still unlawful enemy combatants, most of whom have brutally killed American sons and daughters — all of whom would do it again in a heartbeat. By the way, as you probably know, we’re not supposed to say War On Terror anymore either!

A few months ago these same sand vermin weren’t entitled to so much as protection under the Geneva Conventions. In every war fought during the past 5,000 years, except for the odd prisoner exchange, captured enemy combatants were either killed or held until the end of hostilities. It seems, however, that the chip Obama carries on his shoulder for America is partially fed by a soft spot in his head for Muslims. In addition to closing their Caribbean country club, he wants to bring these barbarians to the U.S. and give them all the rights to trial of a citizen. Besides being despicable and dangerous, awarding such rights to the enemy is unprecedented in the annals of history, military or otherwise!

Beyond Orwellian doublespeak, this is a policy that demonstrates weakness to our enemies, disrespect to our troops and destroys the morale of our brave forces in harm’s way. I’d love to hear what Mr. Carlin would have done with this one!
