Crosscountry: Mike Sullivan Coach of the Year

Head Women's and Men's Cross Country coach Mike Sullivan has been named Region IV Women's Division I Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Crosscountry: Nick Belmonte Men's Qualifier

Nick Belmonte will represent the Skyhawk men at nationals. This year the event will take place on the grounds of Newman Golf Course, Peoria, Illinois.

Nick placed tenth (28:27). He was also named as an All-Region Athlete.

Sauk Valley will recognize Lindsey Hall, Merrissa Johnson, Kaitlyn Kielsmeier, and Elyce Naylon for their contribution to the Skyhawk volleyball teams during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Sauk Valley will take on Black Hawk College at 6:00 p.m. at home.

Golf: Nelson and Eggleston Qualify for Nationals

Sophomore golfers Richard Nelson and Josh Eggleston qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament held May 16-21 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Nelson, a national qualifier last year finished 3rd and Eggleston finished in 5th place to earn the honor to compete as individuals. The Skyhawk team of Nelson, Eggleston, Staranko, Kipping, and Hess finished in 3rd place (955) behind Black Hawk (936) and Carl Sandburg (950). The top two teams qualify.
