programs to meet their training needs, and manage those training
projects. Contract and develop customized training projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain relationship with area business and industry.
Explore
company training needs by determining a company’s scope of need, their
existing trainee skills, schedule options and constraints, and special
company circumstances.
Maintain a material resource file to distribute as needed.
Coordinate training,recruiting, scheduling, and administrative details for each training project.
Follow-up on completed training and take a proactive stance in developing additional training for the company.
Maintain a network with various State and Federal government sources.
Develop
marketing to businesses and prepare advertising to promote workshops
and seminars (i.e. flyers/newsletters, newspaper ads, and radio ads) in
coordination with SVCC's Marketing and Public Relations department
(alignment with Board Policy 507.01).
Assume full responsibility for Work Keys and coordinate efforts with Coordinator of Tech Prep.
Prepare pertinent reports and submit to the Dean including a monthly summary of activities.
Coordinate meetings and communication of Workforce Council with the Dean.
Assist with placement of College interns.
Coordinate College retraining initiatives.

Leads, directs, and manages all aspects of technical service,
including cataloging, acquisitions, and serials in accordance with
professional standards.
Creates, maintains, and corrects bibliographic records and holdings.
Coordinate the acquisition, licensing, and renewal of online holdings.
Responsible for local maintenance of the Voyager system.
Responsible
for the integration of CARLI (consortium of Academic and Research
Libraries in Illinois) and State of Illinois provided library resources
at the College.
Trains library staff in the use of online materials including online card catalog.
Provides instruction to individuals and group on the use of the collection.
Assist at circulation desk as needed.
Hires, supervises and trains the full-time LRC Assistant(s).
Produce reports on library door counts as well as electronic holdings.
Provide leadership in electronic services.
Maintain photocopiers, management student photocopy procedures, and assist staff in using photocopiers.
Work with Director and other LRC staff to maximize the library budget.
Markets the library to district patrons, students, faculty, and others.

development, planning, and organization of materials, cataloging and
bibliographic instruction activities.
Maintains library
collection through active participation in cataloging processes,
requiring the interpretation of and application of rules, procedures
and instructions related to record maintenance in shared, automated
cataloging system.
Oversees activities related to the document collections, including selection, processing, weeding, promotion, and reporting.
Explores
cooperative resource development opportunities with regional and
statewide consortia, area high schools, colleges, and local libraries.
Assure the LRC maintains compliance with consortia contracts (PALS, I-Share, CARLI, MLNC, NLRC, etc.).
Actively seeks sources of outside funding.
Works
collaboratively with faculty and Academic Administrators to develop
programs and collections that support the college curriculum.
Provides full-range of reference services and information counseling as needed.
Markets the Learning Resource Center to district patrons, students, faculty, and others.
Develop, plan, and monitor the LRC budget under the direction of the Dean.
Prepare and submit to the Dean an annual report summarizing accomplishments of the previous year.
Oversees the hiring, evaluating, and scheduling of LRC staff.
Provide backup  to other library staff on an as needed basis.
