DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop
content specific interactive learning modules, multimedia, web
resources, and instructional graphics for faculty to use with students
in both online and on-campus courses.
Assist faculty in the creation of instructional videos to use with students in both online and on-campus courses.
Assist faculty in the design, development, creation, and acquisition or assessment of effective technology-enhanced instruction.
Assist faculty in locating and evaluating software appropriate to the instructional setting.
Assit faculty in the creation and delivery of Internet courses.
Assist faculty in the acquisition and utilization of multimedia resources for on-campus and off-campus courses.
Provide technical assistance to students utilizing technology, especially as it applies to alternate forms of delivery.
Train
and assist faculty and staff on the use of equpment and software in the
Instructional Technology Center (ITC) and technology-enhanced
classrooms.
Develop and deliver training online and individually in instructional design and software tools to all faculty and staff.
Develop in cooperation with the Director, annual goals and objectives.
Provide backup to College Webmaster.

Job Description Duties

Operate a literacy program according to the regulations and guidelines of the Illinois Secretary of State's Office.
Recruit and train volunteers as well as keep records of volunteer training.
Recruit and test potential participants, and maintain required records on all participants progress in the Program.
Develop and maintain a marketing program for VITAL clients and tutors.
Assume major responsibility for writing the Secretary of State's Literacy Grant.
Submit
and administer the budget for Project VITAL, including maintaining
accounts of expenditures made on the various grants supporting Project
VITAL.
Function as a member of the adult education team and make and receive client referrals.
Build a community-based support structure and make presentations to community groups on literacy as requested.
Complete and submit to the Director and external agencies all forms and reports for the Project.
Develop meaningful recognition activities for those who participate in Project VITAL.
Coordinate, evaluate, and recommend revisions to the Literacy Project when warranted.
Be
familiar with the Illinois Secretary of State regulations pertinent to
the administration of the VITAL Project and comply with all
requirements.

Track the community service participation of the members.

Compile data received into a usable form, as instructed by the Director.
Assist the Program Director in planning, scheduling and implementing training and meetings.
Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, enrollment and monitoring of members.

Duties

Monitor academic progress of Perkins Career and Technical Education students.
Work with faculty and students to ensure timely graduation of Perkins students.
Prepare reports as requested for Perkins grant coordination and SVCC.
Coordinate with the adult education staff to link with outside agencies and refer students to them when appropriate.
Coordinate the provision of supplementary services to students in targeted vocational-technical education programs.
Provide direct assistance to all students in the form of career planning.
Orient students to college programs and admissions procedures.
Be
knowledgeable of service areas and refer students to appropriate
personnel regarding questions such as academic advising, financial
assistance, personal counseling, etc.
Evaluate a variety of successful programs, and implement a formal, comprehensive retention program that best meets SVCC's needs.
Take
an integrated approach in retention efforts that incorporate both
academic and non-academic factors into the design and development of
programs to create a socially inclusive and supportive academic
environment that addresses the social, emotional, and academic needs of
students.
Oversee the early alert, assessment, and monitoring system to identify at-risk students.
Work with at-risk students to evaluate progress and direct them as needed.
Teach PSY 100 as needed.
Collaborate with SVCC faculty and staff to promote student success, retention, and degree completion.
Participate in the student orientation program for developmental and adult education students.
Provide current information to students on college/university transferability issues.
Serve on institutional committees related to the welfare of students.
Assist the Admissions staff in outreach activities and high school programs.
Chair the retention committee.
