Notice to all!

Please finish up your SDMA video project by now till before the end of year examinations and hand it up to either Ms Guo or Mrs Tan in a CD with the supported video format listed in the SDMA website. Click here to see it. Please also place your CD in an envelope.
If you need help with the SDMA project, you can come to school on the 21st of October (Friday) to ask the teacher-in-charge for help.
For the Maincomm members, please come to school on the 21st of December from 1-2pm for the maincomm meeting. The meeting will most likely be held in Computer Lab 1 or ITRR1.
Also, if you have any comments or feedback to improve on our club, please suggest it to either the teachers or the President & VPs.
Lastly, if you have any song that you have in mind and you want to share it with the club, please do tell the President/VPs/teacher the title and artist of the song, or you can send the file to them. (Note: The song should not contain vulgarities or any harmful lyrics.)

The deadline for submission of NEmation is the 14th of August and the deadline for SDMA is around October. You're kindly advised to finish your SDMA by September as there is only one CCA session on October.

Hello everyone, please take note of the following points:

Please take note that there is no CCA on next Monday (4th July) as it is a holiday and Wednesday (6th July). CCA for next Wednesday is postponed to next Friday (8th July). NEmation! workshop will be held on that day and it will be begin at 1.30pm and end at 5.30pm. Please remember to wear your club tee. Muslim students who are going for the prayers on that day, please come back for CCA ASAP by 2pm.
Next Wednesday, a group of Hong Kong visitors will come to visit our school. The photographers in-charge of taking photos are: Suthaarshun and Regina.
CIP for Infocomm Club has been moved to August due to some events.
For the R3 Day, every infocomm member is supposed to take photos using your own camera. Please take pictures of your own class, take pictures when they're at work. (eg: Passing newspapers from a person to another person.) Do not take pictures of them facing the back. After R3 Day, please submit your photos to Chester.

CIP for Infocomm Club will be held on the dates: 18, 20, 25 and 27 July. The CIP will be held during CCA hours. The dates will be confirmed by the teachers. (To the CIP Committee: Please work together to make the CIP work well.)

June Holidays

Dear members,

Please get ready all your props, things needed and think about what to do during your June holidays. You may plan or start the project during the June holidays by meeting up. During the next CCA session, Mrs Tan and Ms Guo do not want to see anyone playing the computer. (such as using Facebook, playing games .etc) The teachers do not want to see anyone wasting time, talking or playing and not doing their work on that session. The teachers expect every group to have their props and things ready on that day. Please kindly take note that there will be no CCA sessions during the June holidays and CCA will resume after school reopens.

Photography Competition 2011 - Climate Change [CLOSED]

Dear members,

Catholic High School has organized a Photographic Competition 2011 on Climate Change and the objective is to bring about environmental awareness regarding climate change.

There will be two categories:

- Junior Category (below 14 years old)

- Senior Category (15-19 years old)

On-line registration has begun on 27 April and will end on 1 Jun. The registration form can be found at here.

All entries MUST be submitted latest by: 1 July 2011, 5pm.

All photos must be posted by websites eg. blog. You can check for more updates on this competition through Facebook. Schools may join their fan page "Climate Change Photography Competition."

Attractive Prizes:

First Prize - $500 cash

Second Prize - $400 cash

Third Prize - $300 cash

Consolation Prize (x7) - $50 cash

All photos must be taken by the student (name of photographer and respective photo to be submitted) and he/she has given permission to allow Catholic High the use of the images. All photographs must be in JPEG, JPG format. Anything such as graphic art, paintings, illustrations, screenshots, etc. are not accepted. Only photos are allowed.

Schools submitting their entries must provide the links to the photographs through the "private message function" in Facebook. They are to include name, school and link in their messages.

Photographs with deleted or composited elements are not allowed.

Refrain from:

- Text overlays - Photos that contain visible watermarks or overlaid text are not allowed.

- Submissions that are not photos

- Pornography - not even artful nudes.

CCA Resume Date

Infocomm Club will resume CCA on 23 May 2011 (Monday). There will be two sessions before June holiday - 23 & 25 May. Please collate the things to do for your video with your group mates so that you will use the CCA sessions wisely.

Those groups who have not submitted or gone through the storyboard with the teachers please do so by 23 May. Groups whom we have already approved to start your video filming, please prepare your props and materials.

We will also be issuing a letter to inform your parents that there will be CCA on 8 July 2o11 (Friday) 1.30pm to 5.30 pm for the NE-mation! Private Content Development Workshop. Attendance is compulsory.

Members who have not handed in their consent forms (core team photographers) or edusave forms (members going for New Media Workshop @ IJC), please hand them in to the teachers by next Monday 16 May 2011.

There will be a Sec 4 Graduation Ceremony on this Monday. (18 April) Please bring your own drinks, and food will be provided.
